What an amazing establishment. I had to order lunch, last minute, for a conference. A colleague suggested Hero King. When I called to place order, the staff was warm, friendly and accomodating. They also recommended great selections. The food was delivered on time and presented nicely. The sandwiches were delicious just like traditional old fashioned subs with all the works. Great New local spot! Been here a few times and always leave satisfied without fail!. Picked "The Hoboken" today for lunch and cannot have enough of it! If you're a fan of fresh hot roast beef, fresh mozzarella and a nice helping of gravy then you have got to try this!. The shop is small but very clean and have a good selection that gives you enough variety to choose from, the staff also makes you feel right at home. If you appreciate a good, well built sandwich then Hero King is the place for you. I discovered this place a couple years ago while driving up the Parkway on my way home to CT. I used the Yelp app and as usual Yelp delivered. This place is just minutes off the Parkway. Today I picked out a #6 ham, prosciuttini and provolone. Ordered the muscle wrap in sandwich form. Very disappointing. Bread was soft, which was okay, but was soggy from the roasted peppers and balsamic. A nice crusty loaf would have been preferred. Chicken strips were microwaved and bland. Some parts of the mozzarella were dry and rubbery. Also bland. Roasted red peppers were the saving grace as they provided most of the flavor for the sandwich. Italian herbs and sweetness. Balsamic vinegar was minimal. Not much else to say but give this place a try. Food is always excellent and seems to get better with every visit. Bread is always super fresh and they pack it with just the right amount of filling. Decided to stop by on my way to get a haircut and decided to get the muscle wrap. It consisted of grilled chicken, roasted red peppers, fresh mozzarella, and some balsamic vinaigrette on a whole wheat wrap. The wrap was kind of messy and wet but surprisingly it did not leak through the paper it was wrapped in. The mozzarella was extremely fresh and the chicken was not dry at all. It was a little pricey but for the freshness it is definitely worth the price. I would definitely come back here again. read more

This was our first time ordering from Hero King, and we were so happy we did. We ordered the Larry David, The Cowboy, Hot Italian Lover and Tree Hugger. They were unfortunately out of eggplant, so we couldnt get the tree hugger, but we loved everything else. My personal fave was the hot Italian lover, cappicola, salami, and provolone with the works. The service was friendly and prompt. I like that they have monitors that show them making the sandwiches in the back. Not something I would have ever requested, but its a nice detail. First of all, amazing customer service. Everyone there was friendly and I even got a free soda for my first time there. That's class. The cold cuts are freshly sliced with each order. The bread is fresh as well. The bread is a soft type. I usually prefer the harder crust Italian bread style but I am making the exception here. This bread has flavor. The sandwich was thick and fills you up. For my first time, I had a basic Italian. Delicious. I look forward to my next visit. I may go with a hot sub. The sub was dripping with oil/vinegar which is what a sub is supposed to do. The owner was super friendly and threw in a free bag of chips. I gave this place a "timeout" because last time I went they forgot to put fresh mozz on my sandwich. I decided to go there today because I was craving a sandwich and I ordered turkey and fresh mozz and I told the guy last time I came they forgot the cheese. He apologized and said they won't charge me for the cheese this time so I was happy about that. I get home only to discover that my sandwhich once again has no fresh mozz and ham on it.
