WARNING! These immoral goons will rent you a vehicle that has not been inspected and then try to pin the damages on you. DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY. My life was put in danger. First, I was rented a damaged van. The manager himself wiped the numbers off the window from it being towed from the previous renter. I took photos of everything - top to bottom, all four old tires, missing hubcaps, side-swiped driver's side, over extended driver's door with warping inside and out, used q-tips inside - all of it. I was told there was no other options. Just handed the key - no inspection. I reluctantly took it. Second, on the way home the tire pressure light came on. I took a photo of the dash which just so happened to include the mileage number. I went straight back to the office. I was told that the "repair system is down" so I could go buy new tires myself for the vehicle, but no one was going to be available to even look at the tires, also these lights come on all the time, "you're fine don't worry your pretty little self about it." Third, I made it about an hour on the highway before the tire was so low, I could not operate the van. I had it towed by Hertz. Thank all that is good in the world that I thought to take a photo of the mileage when the tire went flat!!!! My husband had to come collect me on the side of the road. Priceline said they would not give my money back; Hertz said they would not give me my money back. I can't imagine what could have happened on the highway with a blown out tire. I'm so lucky. Fourth, weeks later Hertz informs me that I owe $4000 in damages to the van. What? No. I have full documentation of this jacked van. They say there is that damage plus additional damage to the roof. No. I am not responsible for this damage. They also said I drove the van over 600miles. So, not only was the van not inspected before I rented it, they turned around and used the van after I had it towed. If it were not for the photos I had documenting the 40 some-odd miles that I used the vehicle, I would have to pay out this insane amount of money. The lessons: I have learned to always pay for the insurance coverage when renting a moving vehicle of any kind: truck or van. I have also learned to document the entire rental - mileage, condition of the van, etc... document everything like it's your first born child. I will never use Hertz again. The Dallas location made me wait past my pick up time. I checked in before I arrived but still had to wait to check in at the desk. Then had to wait in line to receive my car. When the worker in charge of getting the vehicle found out I was a one-way (drop off in San Antonio), she became very rude and I had to wait longer while others went in front of me to receive the same type of car I was waiting for. The worker implied that I was waiting for a bad car because it wouldn't be returning to their location. I finally got the car and it reeked of air freshener. The next day I realized why. I was given a SMOKER'S car for my road trip with my family (including my two young children). The third hand smoke was soaked into the seats and dash; never went away or faded; and got progressively worse in the Texas heat. Customer service was HORRENDOUS. I filed a case with Hertz and never heard back. After following up, they offered a certificate for my next Hertz rental no where near the amount I paid initially. There was no follow up with the Dallas location about the service and car I received. I'd never use their company again so the certificate is useless. I know Yelp reviews tend to be extreme anyway, but what about just saying it is A-OK? This is the neighborhood location close to me. I rented a car for a week of vacation because I didn't want to put the miles on my car since I was driving a big loop from Dallas to Cleveland to Atlanta to Dallas. I rented a car with unlimited miles at a competitive price. It was a brand new Nissan Altima. I put 3000 miles on it in a week. I didn't have a problem with the car and I didn't have a problem picking the car up or dropping it off. That's not enough to make me a fan or say that it is as good as it gets, but it is satisfactory. And, really, that's all I want from this type of transaction. read more

I had a prepaid reservation at this location 2 weeks in advance of my trip. They called me as my plane was landing to let me know I would not be getting a car and left me stranded. Every car rental location in the Dallas area was sold out... it was a nightmare. As someone who worked for their competitor, Enterprise, I know this is a management problem and there is no excuse for managing a fleet so poorly as to be unable to accommodate prepaid reservations. Also- I discovered on my billing statement that Hertz did not automatically issue me a refund, so I had to take MY time to request a refund through their corporate office. I have been a Hertz Customer for the last 30 years. I rented a vehicle for 6 weeks while my car was in the body shop from Addison Airport location and had a good experience with staff. This time I rented from the Forest lane Dallas location and will never rent from here again. The staff is very rude and harassed me for an hour. The African big employee gives all customers a hard time and argues with them he is very rude and unprofessional. I rented a car last week that smelled like smoke and was not clean. I actually got the car cleaned when I was returning this morning and he found a speck of dust and wanted to charge me $200. They wasted one hour arguing with me. On my drop off date, I spoke with an older gentleman on the phone and confirmed with him if i was able to bring the car later in the afternoon without an additional fee. He put me on hold 3 times to go, ask, and confirm with me that there would be no fee if I bring it in before 4 P.M. ---- this gentleman states, "I BELIEVES SO". ....... frustrating, I requested him to be give a definitive answer so that I don't get charged any more fees. He confirms with me that there would be no charge, after the third time being placed on hold for this ONE question. upon returning the vehicle, 3:05 p.m., I am charged for an entire extra day after speaking with one of their employees and them stating I would not be charged if I brought in the vehicle before 4 p.m. my rental in total came out to be close to $400, but because of this extra one day, I was charged almost $100. This rental experience was terrible! I reserved my rental on Kayak for a full size car to be picked up at 5pm, which went really well. When I arrived at Hertz, I asked to check in for my rental and they told me that the car I reserved was already booked by somebody else and that I would have to pay extra for another car or they could put me in a smaller car for no charge. We went back and forth and they finally relented and gave me the full size car left on the lot because the other person who reserved a car that size was supposed to pick up at noon, but had not shown up at 5:30pm. I was not pleased to have to argue for a car that I reserved, or pay for an upgrade because they could not fulfill their commitment. Once we decided on the car, they tried to sell me insurance. I told them I already had insurance through Allianz. They told me and 2 other customers that Allianz would not cover cars in the State of Texas. Then I said, well, I have rental coverage through my own insurance company and a safety policy on my credit card. He went to his computer and started typing and then came back about 3 minutes later and informed me that my insurance company did not actually offer coverage on rental cars. I was a bit taken aback, so I asked how long I have to make a decision on insurance coverage. He told me that I needed to make the decision now, as they are scheduled to close at 6, but that I had a period of time to call back and decline the coverage. So I bought the coverage, assuming that I could talk to Allianz and my own insurance providers and call back to cancel if necessary. I got the keys and drove home. When i arrived home about 20 minutes later, I called the Allianz insurance company. I was informed that they cover rental cars in all 50 states and some select countries, but that rental companies often tell customers that they do not work to entice you to purchase their in house insurance. I then called my own insurance company and was again assured that I was covered in any car I drive because they insure the driver rather than the primary vehicle. I called Hertz back at about 6:15pm, but nobody answered. I remembered they were closing at 6 and figured I would just call them back in the morning. When I called back the next morning on my drive from Dallas to St. Louis, I was told that the period of time to cancel the coverage was 30 minutes from the time of purchase and that they could not do anything to help. I told them that is an incredibly small window of time for me to call other companies and verify my insurance coverage, but they refused to refund my insurance for my 6 day rental. Needless to say, I felt taken advantage of by Hertz Rental Cars and they two men working at the Dallas location on Forest Lane. These men are clearly taught to lie to their customers to try to sell them products that they do not need. I was lied to at least 3 times that day and given partial information another time that cost me nearly $200. Review of HERTZ , I received a call from a gentleman that can only be described in the nicest terms as RUDE and CONDESCENDING! He told me that , I just wanted to let you know that we usually charge a $300 fee for cars returned that are excessively dirty but I'm not going to charge you. I replied, you charge $300 to vacuum a car out. I informed him that my daughter had dropped some dry cereal but we picked up the floor mats and dusted them off. He then replied with an attitude stating, well the dry cereal is on the seats as well. I told him that I could come back up and vacuum it myself. He assured me that he was not going to charge the $300 but he just wanted to, "let me know". I asked him, "who determines what is excessively dirty"? He again replied with an attitude and rude tone, "I DO". He then stated, "oh and you were over 2 hours late returning the car so I could charge you another day but I'm just gonna charge you $50.00." I asked him how much is and extra day and he replied ,"$60" (which is also inaccurate) it is $51. I advised him that I spoke with Dontae' earlier and explained that I was on my way BEFORE the 2 hours but overslept and was in traffic and Dontae said, no worries! I actually made it there approximately 2.5 hours and asked if he could make an exception since I had spoke with one of his employees, he said, "well I'm only charging you the $50.00 and not the $60 like I could." He then stated, "well, I'm not charging you the $300 and I'm only charging you the extra $50 instead of $60 because I need you to complete a survey for me and tell them that you are satisfied, give us those 9's and 10's, cause we need those 9's and 10's". I paused and asked him was he joking? He said , no! I told him that I was offended at not only the fact of him attempting to force me into giving the location a good review but also by the fact that he would call me and say that the car was excessively dirty. I asked him to send me pictures of what he considered to be "excessively dirty". He said that he couldn't do that. I asked why not because I received pictures of the car when I picked it up. He still stated that he couldn't. He then stated with a snide remark, "you can drive back up her and take pictures yourself but I'm not going to send you pictures ". I asked for his name and he did not give it to me, instead he hung up on me. I immediately called back and asked for his name again and he said, "Eric and I'm the general manager". I asked Eric is this how he teaches his employees to talk and treat their customers, he said, "I gotta go I have someone standing in front of me right now ". I was taken aback by this treatmeI then contacted customer service to file a complaint about the way that I had been treated when Johana ID #4710, advised me that Eric Charged me the $300 cleaning fee and the extra day of the actual charge. She told me that there was nothing that she could do about it. At this time I was livid, I told her that it is not okay for someone to force charge my card just because they want to and it's on filE. There were no vehicles of my class at the facility. The site manager, informed me he could either give me a lower class car (which I needed the SUV I reserved, a car would not function for my needs) or he did have higher classes of cars available, *but I would have to pay over $100 more*, that he needed to reserve those cars to give as upgrades to higher priority customers. I had to take a car I did not want, and pay more for it, because I was trapped. They intentionally avoided me for 7 days plus, so they could keep me stuck with the reservation without resolving the issue. It is not standard practice in the industry to deny a booked reservation. CarRentals.com confirms this. After ignoring me for 7 days and then not really providing a quality response for another 4, they only gave me 50% off my forced upgrade. read more

I will never use this company ever again. Not just this location but I am never using the COMPANY again. When I was done using the car I vacuumed it out before I returned it and watched it and when I moved the seats there was trash that was there that didn't belong to me. If they are going to clean their cars after it gets returned they need to make sure to clean everywhere not just where people see. And then they had the audacity to charge me a $300 smoking fee when I didn't even smoke in the car. They made it so difficult to get the car in the 1st place, they were insubordinate and rude. The fact that there was trash in the car that wasn't mine makes me wonder how well they clean their cars. And that leads me to the conclusion that the "ash" they "found" could very well be from someone that had the car before me. On top of everything else I was trying to dispute the smoking charge they said they were going to charge me and while I was trying to talk to them they were too busy laughing and joking around with each other. When I finally got their attention the person who was "helping me" was still laughing while processing the rest of my return. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL! I get it it's fun to laugh and joke around with your coworkers but not while you have a customer at the desk trying to speak to you. After looking at reviews for this location it appears that the owner only responds to comments that have at least 4 stars so I'm guessing they don't know how to deal with confrontation and I can guarantee that I will not get a response to my issues. She said tolls. I said no way I used that much in tolls. But I didn't want to deal with it so I paid it. I've called 6x times now to get my $150 refund and all they keep telling me is it'll be there in 2 days. Still don't have it. I am currently on the phone with the assistant manager who is not any better or helpful at all telling me she can't find record of my insurance claim rental. I just want to add that the assistant manager Geneva has no idea what she is doing and told me I did owe the money that my rental was only approved till 4/22/22 when in fact the insurance confirmed it was approved till 4/25/22. Reserved a car with the Hertz national reservation service the day before it was needed. When I arrived there on October 2, 2020, they said they were out of cars and said the Love Field location had none either. The same thing happened when I went to pick up a car back in December; they said Love Field had none either. That time I went to Love Field and was able to get a car; this time I didn't bother; went somewhere else. A couple of years ago, when I did get a car and returned it, they put a later return time on the ticket than when I actually returned it, went driving it on the toll road and charged me for it. This place can't seem to track their vehicle inventory and doesn't know the meaning of customer service, like calling you to say they have no vehicles, or bothering to tell the Hertz national reservation service they have no vehicles to rent out. I have rented cars here at least a half dozen times, and it seems there's a 50/50 chance you will have some sort of problem when renting here. They may be cheaper than the airport, but use at your own risk and don't be surprised if there are disgruntled customers in the office when you arrive. read more

When I first arrived to pick up my rental car the person at the front counter was listening in on a sales call and was on a call with a customer. They didn't tell me that their office would be closed on the day I was supposedto drop it off or how to turn it in while they were closed. I did try to call customer service 2 days before I was supposed to turn the car in and change the drop off location for one that is a) closer and b) open and they refused because it was prepaid and they told me none of the other locations could close out the rental because of that. When I got there to drop off the car 1) it was closed 2) when I called the number on the doorfor assistance, I got a notification that 'this person is not taking calls at this time 3) there were no instructions as to how to drop off the car after hours. So I called corporate. The customer service mailbox was full. When I finally managed to get a human being, they couldn't help me and transferred me to the roadside assistance line where I was on hold for 55 minutes before they hung up on me without speaking to me. While I was on hold my partner continued trying to reach the number on the door and customer service. He even called another hertz location that was open and every time he spoke to a person they transferred him to roadside assistance even when he made it clear i was already on hold with them. We ended up bringing it to another hertz location that was open and they were very cooperative unlike every other hertz rep we spoke to that day. read more

If only 0 stars was possible. Do not Eva Eva Eva Eva rent from this location!!! It is an absolute S Show .... Had a reservation that was pre paid in full 3 weeks prior to my pick up day. Simple mid sized sedan with pickup on a Tuesday. I arrived 45 minutes early and no employees were inside the location. This was at 1 pm !!! There was a woman and her son sitting inside and they said they had been waiting for about 30 minutes. When I asked if anyone was working here she said there is a woman but she walked out 30 minutes ago and they had no idea when she was returning. So eventually the employees resurfaces and as I get to the counter tells me they don't have a vehicle available for me in the size I requested but I can upgrade to a gas guzzler of an SUV if I want to pay the difference. I informed her that I'm not paying any difference as this issue is not my fault. So she gives me the SUV at no extra charge... I get into the veg and it has 1/8th of a tank of gas yes 1/8th and she says well it's ok just bring it back that way.... as I'm leaving they have a sign taped to the door new hours at this location are Monday to Friday 9-4 ... of course my rental team ends on Saturday so I have to go back inside and as about this as the employee didn't say a word. She says of well call the 800 number and see what they tell you to do. I ask if I have to take it to another location because you are not open is there a charge she says well I do t know sometimes it's free sometimes it's $50 sometimes it's $100. Because they no longer have an after hours drop box. Do not I repeat do not ever rent from this location honestly it needs to be closed. read more
