Well that didn't last long. From a five star review to a one star review faster than my rental car stalling before getting out of the lot. Which is exactly what happened. We rented a Chevy Malibu and got the car quickly enough, but before we hit the street the car started jerking and then stalled on us with a notice on the dash saying to shift to neutral. My wife restarted the car and we got about halfway around the block before jerking abruptly to a stop as the engine shut down again. We managed to nurse it back around to the return side of the lot where we were told they would do a vehicle swap for us. They were totally casual about it like this happens all the time, but all I could think was we were about to drive across Dallas on the freeways out to Rockwall. If the car had died on the 635 we would have been screwed for sure, or even better yet seriously hurt in a crash as the car shuts down on a freeway. I called their customer service department today to discuss it with them, as I lost sleep last night thinking about how bad it could have been. They said they were going to escalate it to their management team, but I haven't heard back from anyone yet. In the meantime my wife noticed the check engine light has come on in the replacement (you guessed it, Chevy Malibu) and won't go off. So I'm just feeling super uneasy driving this car around and will certainly avoid renting from Alamo in the future as they are clearly not servicing their fleet. My family's safety is worth more than saving a few bucks on a sketchy rental. read more

After renting a car from Alamo and experiencing a hit and run I would not recommend them. After working with my insurance to make them whole again they place my family in collections and a no rent ban. Even after making the remaining balance they still put us on a no rent ban and collections. Wow! I don't think they would have rushed to give us a refund if we overpaid. But Payless, Alamo, Enterprise, National, Avis, nor Budget wouldn't take it. They scanned it and it was validated by their machine because, it's valid! It was just the wrong copy. Consistency is key. It was time to come back through Dallas and the need for a car came up. As always, I did my research and somehow ended up with Alamo again. (The big sell was their competitive pricing!) I met their staff, Daniella. I told her I had a dilemma: I originally signed up for a mid-size car and didn't account for all the bags my party of three (plus a pup) had. I asked if it was possible to upgrade to a mid-sized SUV instead. She didn't even flinch, "No problem!" And the price difference?!? Not as much as I anticipated. The car was clean, it ran smoothly the whole 10 days I had it and yep... plenty of room for all our bags and passengers. I ended up dropping off the car in Austin, and that, too, was an easy process. We always book rental cars through costco travel. Even though Alamo wasn't the least expensive we chose them as you get to pick your car from the car class you booked. The shuttle driver was nice and dropped us off right out front. Despite having Enterprise, National and Alamo on the building and what looked like 3 doors they routed us all into one building/office. The clerks made short work of the line. I was asked about my insurance company (not sure if that is new to rentals or just to Alamo or Texas) but they didn't harass me about declining coverages. They also asked my deductible. The staff assisting me was nice (I told her I wanted to go to Buc-ee's and she asked where we were staying and googled the closest one for us. I also told her I was excited Texas had Quik Trips and she told me there was one right up the street. I asked about tolls and was told "oh yeah all our cars are equipped for tolls." I didn't see the toll transponder I have seen in other major cities with lots of toll roads so I didn't think anything of it. We did not take toll roads our first day. I asked the people we knew who lived in texas what their toll tags looked like as I could not find it on the car (found out it is a T in an orange circle says toll tag or something like it). Basically told us to suck it up and take toll roads, fees be damned (because what can you do?). I was pissed and anticipated a large toll bill (and I mean it was a lot for 4 days but at least Alamo doesn't gouge you on the "fee administration" of the tolls like other places). We returned the rental car 1/2 and got the toll bill today. Tolls were $58.62 for 4 days and the service charge was $19.80. I don't understand how people afford to drive in texas if you can rack up a $60 toll bill in 4 days but my husband said they can afford it because gas is so cheap. Ok so after gas station talk we went out to pick out our car. There was a good amount of standard SUV's (our rental class) and we were told to pick. We were walking up and down the aisle trying to decide what to pick and a staff asked us several times if we needed help. We picked a black Ford Edge which was pretty new (only 4500 miles!) that was nice. It fit all our luggage and passengers. It had dual climate control, heated seats and the giant screen that paired well with my husband's android. It was a great car to tool around in the 5 days we were there. We had to gas it twice and when my husband said gas was $37 I was like "how small is the tank?" but gas was only $2.49 Gassed it before return and it was $7 We had no issues returning the car as we put in the address on our rental contract and there were signs. We got there when a shuttle was about to take off but they waited for us! Shuttle driver was super helpful loading bags and getting us to the airport safely and timely. I would rent from this Alamo again if in the area and will likely rent from Alamo in the future. read more

Pickup: Offsite counter was a bit slow. Also, new question when renting a car was asked: "What is the name of your auto insurance company?" I just switched and had no idea. And my insurance card was in my car in New York. Clerk insisted on a name, so I had to give him something or pay $25.00. Interesting new scam by Alamo to try to get people to pay for the extra insurance coverage. Car selection: Decent car selection. I was upgraded to an eclectic Kia. Was worried about range, but it worked out for my day trip. I wouldn't pay extra for an electric Kia. Handling was horrible and jittery. Car return: Don't follow the main signs for "car return." Alamo's car return is not on the side street where the official airport signs direct people. The shuttle area to get back to Love Field is outdoors and rather pathetic. read more

I rented a regular minivan at this location back in July 2024. When I told Bryant that it has been a while since I rented a car before, he took the time to explain in detail the process. I was fortunate to get a luxury minivan for the same price since they still had one left when it was my time to pick up minivan. I also got their protection cover instead of using my car insurance because I was driving through different states. It was worth it! I ran into a red light in one of the states when I was trying to find my way out and the company immediately took care of it. I only ended up paying $60 and that was all. Instead of dealing with all paperwork and calls that need to be done in that type of situation. read more

We came a month ago and rented a car for the entire week. David, from the company, was very nice and friendly, and seeing us taking videos of the car before we took it, told us that it is unnecessary, since they "don't even check these superficial damages.. " when we'll return the car. We returned the car, and they told us that everything is fine. We even took a picture of the car - it's exactly as we got it. Surprisingly, a whole month after the trip, we get an email demanding we pay 1,800 dollars (!!!) for a damage they found on the car, a damage they didn't inform us on when we returned the car. They ignore our attempts to send them proofs that the damage existed before, and they provide no reasoning for demanding this a whole month after the trip is over. Not worth the cheap rental prices. Never renting from them again. They say this damage was caused because of a hail storm that occurred during the rental period. I rented a car with THEIR INSURANCE, and they still want me to pay 1,800 USD for a damage I didn't cause. For a damage they didn't show me when I returned the car. This is outrageous! Absolutely the worst car rental experience in my life. This is the first and last time I ever book with Alamo as a company and at DFW. I had returned the Van back and the person who was checking in the cars magically found one small dent on the hood and one on the roof. He stated that there was hail the night before, but we stayed in Garland during the whole trip and there was no hail during our stay. I can prove that by the Airbnb reservation and if the car has any type of GPS, then they can look and review for themselves. There was 2 other car rentals booked from Avis by my friends that parked next as we all stayed at the same Airbnb, however those cars didn't have any damage, but somehow my car got hailed on while everyone else's avoided the hail but we parked side by side. When you look up the weather online for Garland for May 26-27th 2025, there was no report of hail as well. I for my life couldn't see what damage he was seeing when he tried to show me but then he yelled for his supervisor on what to do, and the sup just said to write me up and charge me, no questions at all. Then today, i get a letter in the mail charging me for over $2000 worth of damage and they pretty much added on a bunch of previous damages and putting it all on me. AVOID AVOID AVOID. I took video of the Van rental before i took off with it so i will be contacting them to show them the proof. Funny how they don't have any proof of these damages when they give you the car or do a thorough examination with photos or videos, but when you return the car, all the damages to the car belong to you. HORRIBLE Company and HORRIBLE staff that at DFW. I knew i should've just paid the extra $30-$40 and went with AVIS like I always do. Do yourself a favor and do not rent with Alamo and mostly do not rent with Alamo at DFW. Pay extra and go with a different company. read more

Had a trip scheduled for 4 days with a trip to Houston and back. I have used alamo once previously in las vegas. That was a last minute suv rental to pick up a stranded friend in Arizona. That was great service and they didn't have a lot of cars available. So this experience was no different. Met by one guy who was already helping a guest. Then a manager I believe it was helped me. I had a mid sized car rented, and I think he gave me a upgrade to a dodge charger. I have to say, I'm not a big fan of dodge since I had two dodge cars that blew up on me. But since I knew I was going to return it, that was ok. Lol. The car was pristine inside. It drove and rode a lot better than what I thought it would. I was out of the rental lot in no time. Upon return it was a little weird coming in but it may have been me just tired. Drop off was quick and then took a 4 minute shuttle to the airport. Everyone was friendly. The car drives smoothly and was filled with gas, but it wasn't until we were already on the road that we noticed this car looks as if it hasn't been cleaned. This company exceeded my expectations on a recent trip to Dallas, Texas! Sometimes booking through a third party (Expedia) can cause delays or issues with your rental. Not this time. I booked easily online about a week before departure. Several days before my trip I Checked-in online and completed the "Skip the Counter" option of questions/information. All instructions were provided via email. Once arrived and with bags in tow, a shuttle arrived in moments to transport me to rental car lot. I skipped the counter, however the size vehicle I chose was not available. Thankfully an attendant from National was in the lot and allowed a nice SUV upgrade (Buick Envision) on the spot from their fleet. Within moments the gate attendant took my license, credit card, and code then I was on the road! Truly enjoyed the vehicle amenities, ride, and a/c (since it was 114 degrees one day). The return was easy and seamless. I drove up and an attendant (iPad in hand) welcomed and checked me in. Within moments I was on the shuttle back to the airport (5 minute ride) with plenty of time to spare. Definitely the easiest car rental I've ever experienced! read more

Alamo/National car rental. Made 7 different calls to roadside and customer service collectively (2+ hours on the phone) about an unsafe Jeep Gladiator that has a flat spare tire which is hanging precariously close to the ground and banging around under the vehicle when turning corners. It could fall off on the hwy and smash into another vehicle,brilliant! I was told on three occasions that a manager from the rental location would call me about the issue. I was told it was my responsibility to swap out the vehicle becauae they will not deliver vehicles. Initially they sent me to Enterprise nearby where I was, a mile or so. I went and they didn't have vehicles available and even if they did they have no access to the Alamo system. I was then told that no other locations near me had vehicles. Then I was told I would have to go back to the airport to swap it out. I'm on business so going back to the airport is not feasible and more importantly a huge waste of my time when it's Alamos incompetence that I was given this vehicle in the first place. Needless to say I've been stuck with a risky vehicle and no resolution. I simply want my money back but only a manager at the airport can handle this request and they won't call me back nor can you reach anyone at the airport as nobody picks up when I call the number customer service supplied me to call. Rented from the airport and my flight landed late so the desk was closed but there was clear signage directing me to the shuttle area. The shuttle came very quickly (must run on a preset schedule) and we were at the Alamo location fast. The computer system went down while I was being assisted so the gentleman quickly grabbed the paper version of the rental agreement and had me on my way. Now, I got a great deal on the price for an "economy " car but I haven't had a car like this one in a long time. It was clean but had multiple places in the front windshield and back where stickers had been removed (residual adhesive) and the car smelled like cigarettes. The customer service was great so they can maintain 3 stars but I defiantly didn't invite any passengers to ride in the "ashtray" with me. It was after 11pm and I was tired so I did not bring this to the attention of the associate in the store. I wouldn't discourage someone from renting from this Alamo location but I would warn that if you opt for an economy car to check it before leaving the rental facility. read more

Rented an Alamo car through Expedia when we bought airline tickets. Expedia reserved the car at Love Field even though our flight was at Dallas-Ft. Worth airport, which is across the city. My bad for not catching it until we went to pick the car up. I've been trying to get Alamo to let us return the car to their location at DFW, but they are attempting to exact a $234 penalty for doing so. The only reason given "because of Covid", with no valid reasoning provided. To return the car to Love Field will add at least an hour of drive time in morning rush hour, plus an expensive cab ride to DFW. The employee at the counter was unwilling to modify anything. Alamo customer service is no help. Even when moved up to "Escalation Department", no one is willing to make a decison, help the customer, and waive the punitive fee. A customer service agent referred me directly to their office at Love Field. Calling that number results in the call being routed back to the offshore call center. The call center operator said they're too busy to answer the phones at the actual location. So far, Alamo has demonstrated - among multiple employees - that they don't care and only want to get extra money from the customer. No one is willing to make a decision or make this right. I will never use Alamo or Expedia again. read more

Alamo charged our credit card twice for the same rental. After 10 days of returning the vehicle, phone calls where I have been disconnected, (and being spoken to as if I were a child) and no reply to emails, it is still not resolved. Victoria told me that her supervisor had approved a refund, then, after being disconnected, I called back and Alexis told me that I would have to be the one to contact the credit card company and request the, "hold," to be released. This is not normal procedure. We will not be using Alamo again. read more

Follow Up Review: I received a call about 2 days after filing my complaint and a really nice lady named Alexis Porter a management type. She spoke as though I would get feedback on the manner in which they handled their miscreant employee but when I followed up a couple weeks later she stated that these matters are confidential in nature and that I would not be privy to the outcome of their investigation. Well that's about it I was treated like hell, by an Alamo racist employee and I complained about it and I get no satisfaction as to precisely what was done about their own employees arrogant and racist behavior to me a renter that spent nearly $1,500.00 for that weeks rental. Over the past 10 years I have spent tens of thousands of dollars with Enterprise (NOTE ENTERPRISE OWNS BOTH ALAMO and NATIONAL) Car rentals. A smooth experience all around. They didn't try to screw me over any of those little hidden things that I feel most often companies do. I really liked that. It was also really pretty convenient off the airport and easy to get to and from. The whole parking area is a bit convoluted, but since that's more or less all of the companies together I can't really blame them for that. The staff was really friendly and efficient. But even better we left something very important and valuable in the car and couldn't get in touch with them until the next morning. But they recovered it in its entirety and had it mailed to us! We were so excited! It cost us the shipping of course but I was really worried we wouldn't get it back at all. We have been renting from Alamo for over 30 years. I picked up a pre-confirmed Insider reservation and was given a serious ration of rudeness from a blue-eyed black female with a Carribean accent and no name tag. This counter was not identified as an Alamo Insider point but there were four employees chatting there while eight customers were in line at the regular Alamo counter. What? I had just previously rented an SUV at OGG for three weeks from Thrifty and I was treated courteously. This clerk demanded multiple photo IDs, I had a photo ID on my temp Texas license that DPS told me was a "legal document" but this did not impress the Alamo employee. Fortunately, John was supervising and helped expedite my rental transaction. This was Not a good impression from this clerk and this is a great TRAINING Opportunity for management. read more

I had a horrifying experience with Alamo rental car service. My rental car started jerking in the middle of the highway. I stopped in a parking lot and had to call roadside assistance which was of no help and handled the matter very immaturely. We were a bunch of girls stranded in the middle of no where past midnight. We were eventually sent an Uber which was a truck which did not have space for our luggage. We specifically asked the customer service to send a vehicle that can carry suitcases. How the hell do u send a truck to pick up passengers with luggage when it's raining outside?? When we contacted customer service we were told that they could not Uber us more than 50 miles. BUT they got us an Uber before? So that was a lie AND They also tried to get us an Uber to Dallas the next day which clearly shows that they were lying to us at midnight about the Uber when we desperately needed it. We were completely stranded. We managed to find a sheriff nearby tried helping us and warned us it was not safe and confirmed that the rental company fucked us over. We asked Alamo for any other form of transportation or to be safely transported to a safe location and were not provided with anything. We literally could have died or been kidnapped that night. The roadside assistance and customer service hung up on us multiple times. Around 1am we were told that there would be a car available in the morning for us at an airport nearby. We waited for the car rental to open all night and when we got there they did not have any request for a car or any vehicle available for us till later evening. We had to wait for hours till they finally provided us with a ride. When we returned the rental and told them about our experiences they tried blaming it on the driver without even inspecting the car. IT WAS AN EXTREMELY HORRIBLE AND TRAUMATIZING EXPERIENCE AND I WILL NEVER BE RENTING FROM ALAMO AGAIN AND WOULD NOR RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE. read more

Update: After a very stressful and unresponsive evening from Alamo. Their rockstar employee finally located my phone. He was polite and honest! I am changing my review to 4 stars solely bc of him. I can not give 5 stars bc Alamos system of lost and found severely needs to be reevaluated, as I noticed I lost my phone 5 minutes after I got off of the shuttle and could not get ahold of anyone to quickly retrieve my phone, costing me $70 in shipping fees. Overall the rental experience here was smooth, but service at this location was very rude. I was there to pick up my car with two other people and there was only one other customer in the building; it wasn't busy at all. I was signing paperwork and my friends were waiting with me, and suddenly a male employee goes "Hey! You in the glasses. Stop looking down. Pay attention. Come over here." I will note that all of us were wearing glasses at the time and had no idea which one he was talking to or why - he basically hustled my friends out the back of the building to show them the car we were taking, but he could have waited literally about 30 seconds until I was done and shown the actual driver... I had to go back in and ask which car was mine because they weren't sure. The whole process took less than 5 minutes since I paid in advance so it's not like we would have been in there long anyway. He could have easily just said "Excuse me, would you like me to show you your car while you're waiting?" but he acted like we had some kind of plague and wanted us out of the building as fast as possible. Everyone else at the location was friendly but he just had no idea how to talk to customers and it was a very weird experience. read more

Can only speak of returning a vehicle here since I picked up the rental at DFW. This was the closest one to where I was staying so I opted to return my rental here instead. Can be tricky to find the entrance, but it's there. I pulled in behind the line of cars and somebody came to assist me. She asked how I was doing and then did her thing, gave me a receipt and she directed me to the shuttle that would take me back to the airport terminal. I was in and out in about 1 minute. read more

"Sorry, the cars are kinda everywhere" she said. At that time she was able to point of the full size cars and we selected one. The car was clean and new. Zero complaints with the car! Drop off was a breeze as well. Drove up, got checked in really quickly, and waited less than 5 mins for the shuttle. read more

So our connecting flight from Phoenix to Dallas was delayed for a few hours, and I was scared that they'd be closed by the time we get there (since it'd be after closing hours), but I was assured that, since I gave them my flight information while I was making the reservation, they will stay opened until that flight arrives. Luckily for me, they held true to their word, and they were still opened by the time we landed, got our baggage, and took the shuttle to the location. It was very easy getting the car due to my reservation. The car we got was in very good condition as well. I didn't have any issues at all with the car that we've gotten for 3 days. Customer service at this location went well for me, at that time. Returning the car was very easy and quick as well. I'd use Alamo again, and I have been at other airport locations ever since this trip, and so far, so good! Reasonable prices, good customer service (for me at least), and reliable cars are the main reasons why I will be using Alamo again! read more

My husband's company rented a Suburban in July for our trip to Florida during Thanksgiving week 2023. When we arrived we were told that a deposit was required. No problem, except they won't take debit cards for the deposit. We're told it to be a credit card. We follow Dave Ramsey's advice and we dont use credit cards. We were told too bad we only take credit cards. My husband asked if we could use a family members card and were told yes. Then the manager comes out and says no. Her name is Veronica. Don't know her last name she refused to give and her employee didn't know it. Then were told that if we wanted the car we would have to rent it under the family members name. We had already paid for the rental under our name and was told they couldn't refund or transfer because it was the day of. At this time we had been up there for an hour trying to make some kind of arrangement. The Alamo at Dallas Love Field is where we were at. The employees had started to ignore us at this time. It was a Saturday. We couldn't reach anyone with Coca-Cola headquarters on a Saturday. So, we quickly contacted a credit card company to get a credit card. We were approved quickly for.the deposit amount. We went back inside to speak to Veronica and she told us she was going to refuse to serve us because of the back and forth. That's when I started asking for her supervisor and she refused to put me in touch with her supervisor and stormed off to the back. I asked her employee for her manager's last name, she said she didn't know it. I knew that she was lying and I called her out on it. She then stormed off telling us to get the f@"k out! We will never use Alamo, Enterprise or National again since they seem to be ran by the same idiots. I hope that Veronica what's-her-name is no longer manager. Do yourself a favor and use Cassie for booking if she's there! No one in that entire airport had as good of an attitude as she did! She is there to help & do her job, she fought for us to get one of the last cars in the lot and went above and beyond with assisting us. An amazing employee who needs a raise and everyone else there should receive a pay cut for their poor service! It seems as though they're partner companies or at least share their vehicles with National which is next door and those men complained the whole time and loudly expressed how much they just wanted to go home and how much they hated their jobs. read more

Rented a car Love Field Alamo 10 days ago and the only car available in our class we rented was not cleaned very well if at all. The front tire made a weird sound when you got on the freeway. On the other hand picking up the car was very easy we use the online check in and input it all our information online first so basically all we did was get off the shuttle bus and walk out to find our car then drive to the checkout gate and we were on our way so that part was wonderful. It's just a shame that the first car that we rented there we actually rented 3 at different times during our stay in Texas was kind of icky inside staff however the ones that we actually did see or wonderful and I have no issues with that just the state of the first car we rented I just wish the car was clean because you're paying good money for a clean car when you. read more

We rented a minivan for the second part of our Texas visit. I loved being able to pick the car up at Dallas Love Field airport and return it to DFW airport without a hassle or an upcharge! At pick-up, we had the choice to wait for a person to help us or to use the on-site kiosk. As there was one person ahead of me, I chose the kiosk. Simple and quick. From there an attendant took our printout, pointed to two minivans, gave us our choice of colors, and handed us the keys. Upon getting into the vehicle, we noticed that there was a small window chip in the windshield. However, as we had a dinner date to make, we chose to not unload all of our materials and change cars. Instead, the attendant at the exit simply noted the damage on our paperwork and recorded her name and staff number for our records. There was no problem, however, at the other end of the transaction. The notation was all that was needed. The vehicle itself was ultra-clean and functioned as any good minivan should. My only "complaint," per se, is the fact that upon returning the car, when we asked about a luggage cart the attendant simply pointed across the parking lot and said that we could rent one over there for five dollars. Traveling with a child who comes with multiple medical supplies, this was a bit of an inconvenience. Plus, after spending a chunk of money on the car rental, it would be nice if they could flip for the luggage cart. Aside from that fact, Alamo completely met my expectations. read more

I have never in my life written a review but my experience with Alamo car rental was so negative and dangerous I feel the need to share this as a warning to others. Alamo car rentals had provided us with a car that after a short time had a low oil warning. This should provide around two weeks for the oil to be changed, but within five minutes of driving our oil ran completely out and the car began to violently jerk on the highway. We were forced to quickly stop at a Walmart in a random city where we were told our oil tank was damaged and we were "lucky we made it that far". Upon this discovery, we contacted Alamo rentals to at the very least have them provide us with a safe way back home, or a safe place to stay the night as by the time we had tried to solve the issue it was very late at night. We were a group of young girls stranded in a sketchy city as Alamo refused to pay an Uber the asked for price and refused to place us in a hotel. We were stranded with no help in a random city until around 3 am at night. When we begged Alamo rentals for at least a hotel room or any help they could provide we were disregarded and simply connected to different calls, only to have customer service hang up on us or make us promises of taxis or Ubers that were never fulfilled. In the end, we were lucky enough to find a hotel to stay in that we had to personally pay for. We were also the ones to pay for the oil, gas, and hotel. The next morning, we were GUARANTEED by Alamo rentals that they had a car ready for us at a nearby airport. When we arrived, we were once again disappointed as we were told that Alamo had once again promised us something they had no intention of providing. After hours and hours of driving back and forth to different rental agencies and being online with customer support (and being hung up on multiple times), we received help from someone who wasn't even with Alamo rentals. If we were not traveling with a friend who had a car, we would have been not only in grave danger but unable to even transport to a safe place or to pick up a new rental as Alamo provided us with ZERO help. Alamo rentals has failed us on all levels of management, and I hope no one uses their services as I don't want them to risk being put in the situation we were in. read more

I flew into Dallas Love Field for a quick weekend visit. Caught a shuttle to a competitors rental lot (Hertz) only to find out there was a mixup with my reservation with them. After experiencing horrible customer service with Hertz, I told them to cancel my reservation altogether. I went outside, called Alamo and made a reservation with them instead. I got back on the Hertz shuttle to the airport and once there, walked right up to the Alamo shuttle. The driver was Harold. He was fabulous. He was actually smiling and very friendly. He commented he had not seen me on the curb waiting when he pulled up and I told him that's because I had come from the Hertz shuttle that was parked behind him. When I told him of the mixup with my reservation with them, he told me "We have to get you taken care of ASAP." He closed the shuttle doors (no one else was waiting) and quickly drove me to the Alamo office. He made me laugh and smile on the way and he put me back into vacation mode quickly. He sang beautifully to an old song that came on the radio. I wanted to ask him to take another trip around the block so I could listen to him. But that just would've been weird. He walked me into Alamo and told Anthony at the counter to take care of me because I had already had a very bad experience. Anthony was just as great. He spoke to me as he did the paperwork. He showed a genuine interest. We talked about where I was from, the new grandchild I had come to Texas to meet and about baseball - my Giants and the Rangers and their new stadium. He personally walked me out to the cars and offered me an upgrade. Next time I come to Dallas, I will come back to Alamo. Harold and Anthony definitely know how to do customer service right. My short vacation started out with a frustrating problem at Hertz and between Alamo and the two of them they quickly turned it around. read more

Preface: I've previously rented from this Alamo location 5-10 times. They have always done a good job- until our experience earlier this week. Prior to arriving I checked in online to avoid the counter. When we walked out to the cars I was unsure which ones were in the class I'd paid for. One of the counter agents happened to be outside, and looked at my paperwork and pointed me to two vehicles and said I could take either one. That's when the problem happened. An hour or so after I drove off I received a text from AMEX showing my CC was billed for the rental. The charge was $42 higher than my Costco contracted price. It turns out the counter agent pointed me to the wrong class of vehicles, and I took one that was more expensive than what I'd contracted for. Unfortunately we were pressed for time when we returned the vehicle and I was not able to interact with the people at the location about the problem. My takeaway is this: ALWAYS make sure you drive away in the correct class vehicle. After that, it becomes a "he said she said" situation. One thing Alamo could do to alleviate situations like this is to have the gate attendant notify customers if the car they're leaving in doesn't match the paperwork before they drive away! read more
