Hertz Car Sales off of Bell Rd in Phoenix, AZ has to be one of my worst experiences with customer service! We bought a car from them middle of March and was given a temporary plate that expires on 5/3/19. We have yet to receive our plates and registration. When we called and asked for help they said there is nothing they can do to help and to just wait. We called back and spoke with Dan. Dan told us that we have to wait till it expires and then we can get another temporary plate issued. I expressed concern about whether or not they would cover my ticket if I was pulled over, Dan hung up on us. When we tried to call back they blatantly ignored are calls and just let it ring. We called the MVD and they told us that Hertz has not even submitted anything for our vehicle. I will never use Hertz Car Sales again and I will make sure this is spread and that no one else uses Hertz Car Sales again! read more

CONTINUED FROM ORIGINAL REVIEW: So, the fun doesn't end there. Apparently, the car that we chose HAPPENS to be owned in the name of Dollar General Thrifty, a company Hertz recently acquired. We were not informed of this and it wasn't even mentioned, and really should have had nothing to do with us EXCEPT that our bank had Hertz as one of their approved dealerships and did not have such a deal with this Thrifty Dollar General, which was holding up the WHOLE process (this is why I call incompetence on Hertz's part). My favorite part about this is that they wait to tell us this whole problem AFTER we make the trouble to come out there after work on a Monday, not even mentioning the trouble in the phone call my wife made to them 15 minutes prior to getting there that we made to let them know we were on the way; this really freakin' irritated me that 1) They KNEW that the car was under the other business's ownership and that they dropped the ball completely and 2) They just couldn't stop passing the buck to other people for their mistakes; Jeff was like a large child denying and saying "I'm not to blame for the bank dah dah dah" and not acknowledging at all that had he shown up on time we might have gotten this figured out earlier. His buddy Scott wasn't much better, also not acknowledging that this Dollar Thrifty thing was completely overlooked by them, instead blaming the bank for trying to contract him on the loan- what else was the bank going to do? Seemed to me they were trying all options. On top of all this, we never got a PEEP of an apology about the whole incorrectness on the 110% thing from Jeff, Scott, or the finance guy. They just acted as if it never happened- let me reiterate that: They were going to needlessly charge us thousands of dollars extra, and they acted as if it never happened. THE FINAL ACT...or....THE FINAL STRAW So, after that whole debacle we decided to make it excruciatingly easy for them. Even after all this, we still wanted the car as we were exasperated by the whole process and going to numerous dealerships and the car itself was fine. So, we basically just drew up an order with the bank for a cashier's check for the loan amount. They couldn't deny us and play games then, right? Right? Well, upon calling there my wife was told that at 4:00 (the earliest time we could get over there, as I work near 85035 and have to pick her up from North PV at her work) Scott would be BUSY, and that he could only deal with us after 4:30. That really pissed me off; customers who all these guys had basically denied and manhandled and were completely rude to, and they can't even attempt to cajole us or provide decent customer service. I immediately started negotiating again with other dealerships online, and told my wife to forget about them. They didn't even bother calling us after 4:30 (they're open till 7), so I'll consider them completely disinterested in selling vehicles, as this one was securely in their hands and they shamelessly threw a hail mary on the whole damned deal. They claim to be a "no haggle" dealership, but as you can see they have all the hallmarks of the big boys: narcissistic salesmen, the whole "nice guy (Jeff) makes a deal, big mean guy (Scott) comes out to seal the deal" thing and clear disregard for the customer. read more

Had a great experience here. After visiting the location off of Camelback I decided to check this one out. This is clearly the superior store. Lot is much more organized and accessible. The building itself is much larger and better maintained. Dennis was awesome. Totally laid back and doesn't pressure anyone into buying. Very easy to work with and I was happy to have him as my salesman. The manager Scott was also very cool. He helped me out big time. Waste of my valuable time. Saw a 17 hyundai at a fair price.Came all the way across town to purchase vehicle for my company with cash..which ive done several times. Salesman rejected my acceptable government issued passport stating he needed info from my drivers license..even though it was to be in the company name. Hello Scott good afternoon, I just wanted to express my gratitude for your salesman Bruce Carey, for the outstanding job he did for me in my purchase of your 2018 Benz C300 Cabriolet. He was such a pleasure to deal with and I couldn't have asked for a better overall experience. Start to finish was a smooth transaction and even though this was an out of state purchase (i'm from Jacksonville, FL) and I never got to meet him in person, the whole process was so smooth and streamlined and seamless. From the initial phone call inquiring about it, to all the calls and text messages and emails we went through, every step of the way he accommodated me and never pressured me once and always showed professionalism, kindness, and patience. Even if it was early morning or late at night after his work shift, he would still entertain all my questions and requests. I felt very at ease and comfortable dealing with him as he never overpromised anything to me and yet he delivered on everything he said he would do and what was advertised. He even took the Benz to the Benz service shop to make sure the Car was in tip-top shape prior to delivering it to me. He even followed through in making sure Benz in Florida took care of the window that needed repair that was under warranty, even making phone calls to the service manager in Benz Florida to make sure they do not try to deny repair of this window. Words CANNOT begin to describe the disappointment, disrespect and simply downgrading this place is. Me and my fiancé came to hertz because we saw the deals they had online and in need for a vehicle. We should of known from the beginning as all of the signs were right in front of our eyes but we decided to give them a chance. The only good thing that came out of this experience was the salesman Brian, sadly to say. Brian was professional, enthusiastic and respectful towards us. Before we signed the contract we made sure with the finance manager David that we got the warranty they provided and also the extra warranties because we didn't want to deal with any hassle if something went wrong with the car. He assures us and sold us on every warranty possible. The second we signed and got the keys, the keys didn't work(first sign). Brian assured us that it was normal and that they would get that fixed for us. Then as we were driving it home, there was something wrong with the brakes. I called them and explained to them as I had requested a full inspection. Things went down the hill from there... it was one thing after another. The brakes, then the electrical then to be left stranded in the middle of the freeway due to the car shutting off completely and suddenly. The warranties then were invisible, as the finance manager David had promised. No one was helping us, we were without a vehicle, lost work and gained health issues due to this. Once the manager Scott got involved, let me rephrase the title "manager", Scott is a downgrading irresponsable self center full of himself kind of man if you can even call him that. He got in my face and said "I don't know what you want me do, i am already helping you". This happened when we were without a car due to transportation issues, refused to provide a rental, refused to help. I asked him to please make a FULL INSPECTION from head to toe and I wanted printed copies of everything that was done. They said they would take it to pep boys. Well pep boys calls and says the car is ready within 1 day, weird right. I go to pep boys and guess what... nothing was done!! Scott did not tell them to do a full inspection whatsoever. I then went to hertz to pick up the car without them knowing I had gone to Pep boys... I get to hertz and with Scott in-front of my i asked, so what was wrong with the car?... his response "nothing was wrong with the car I test drove it myself and a full inspection was done from head to toe".... SICK to my stomach I wanted to hurt him, kept my calm and said to him " that is a complete lie" because I had just gone to pep boys and learned nothing was done. He then with a smirk on his face laughed in my face and said " i don't know what you want me to do". Things escalated quickly he was so disrespectful and downgrading I can't express how bad Scot was to us this day. Scott made both of us cry, right there in the lobby and showed no remorse or concerned. When I asked for his supervisor, CEO, or anyone above him, he refused and said there was no one else but him. I left in tears, beyond angry! I did my research and found the CEO corporation address and wrote a 5 page latter explaining every detail of Scott, David, with NO RESPONSE to this date!!! This company should be taken out of bussiness and the Better Business Bureaus should be contacted and they need to be investigated as I truly believe I am not the only person they have treated like this. All of this "nice" reviews are fake and should not be trusted. I have texts, emails and voicemails proving how disrespectful Scott and David are. I hope my review helps others to speak out!!! There is A LOT of details that I have not explained in this review as I would need an entire week to write. As I mention to this day I have NOT received a call or a response from corporate or CEO or anyone to show that they even care. SCOT AND DAVID YOU ARE TWO OF THE WORST PEOPLE I HAVE EVER MET IN MY LIFE!!! Purchased a used 2016 audi a-3 from hertz used car sales on bell road in phoenix, AZ. purchased this car sight unseen, Hertz Certified used car sales warranty included. The car arrived with a deep cut on the sidewall. Hertz manager Scott has promised to replace the tire, and i will adjust my yelp rating as things will develop; will update my post when things happen.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Am happy to update my Audi a3 purchase review. Hertz has paid to replace the defective tire and am very happy with the Audi and hertz customer service. Hertz business manager Scott Z doesn't mess around; he wanted to get this issue taken care of right away and make me a potential future customer. bts, this is my second Hertz used car purchase. Pro tip-- check that used car registration is current if you are purchasing in-state; make sure the bill of sale doesn't add back registration and late fees. Final Paperwork should not include bringing registration current if you have to pay for new out of state registration (meaning don't pay car registration twice because the car moves from one state to another) read more

It was time for a new car and I dreaded the thought of spending a good afternoon only to leave without a vehicle and spending more than I wanted. So, I took a look at Hertz Car Sales on Bell Road. Several cars were candidates so I made an appointment with one of the sales associates there. Lucky for me Brian Cruz answered the phone and I met him a few hours later. We briefly discussed what I was looking for and he directed me to a potential vehicle on the lot. Here's where it gets good. He left me alone to look at the car, walk around it, sit inside, start it up and then proceeded to the office where he slapped some dealer tags on it and said go take it for a ride, alone, solo, take it home to show the wife. So I spent about 45 minutes and while it was nice, I had my eye on another that hadn't reached their lot yet. Less mile and since these are former rentals, less scrapes. No worries, no high pressure, great appraisal on my trade so Brian promised to call me which he did 2 days later when the second vehicle arrived. Same deal, take it out for a spin. Prices are fixed and don;t get reduced for 90 days which makes it so easy. We closed the deal in less time then my test drive. In fact, they even took a second car in trade. What an experience. As a first time car buyer, I was pleasantly surprised on how simple and streamlined Hertz made my car buying experience. I was a little intimidated from the start from all of my previous awful trips to the local dealerships, but my salesman Dana was a breath of fresh air and provided me with top notch customer service. He even went above and beyond to make sure the car was pristine! In addition to that, Randy the financial manager gave me a killer rate, a thing I thought would be foreign to someone with very little credit like myself. They were overall very flexible with my situation and I left extremely satisfied with my first bought car. Dana even followed up the next day to wish me the best. It seems to me that this kind of care seems to be rare within the car dealership business, however Hertz has certainly won my good faith and assurance that this is not always the case. I may be a biased because this was my first car dealership buying experience but buying here was a great experience and it definitely set the bar high if I go anywhere else to buy a car. I got a great price on a used car in great condition, and the buying experience was very laid back and non-stressful. I talked to Joe on the phone before I came in, when I got to the store I didn't know exactly what I was looking for but Joe showed me all the options that best fit what I was looking for. I went on a couple test drives and went back home to do some research and think about it. I came back the next day and Joe was there to help me again. I ended up doing one more test drive and the rest is history. Joe didn't try to sell me a car, he tried to help me find the best car for me to buy and I never knew what a difference that would be. read more

I just got my Nissan Versa Note today! I'll give an updated review in a year to be sure things were still great. This was the best car buying experience I've had! Paperwork was literally 5 minutes. They didn't try to up sell me on a car, warranty or gap insurance. I went there with my heart set on a Toyota Yaris. No joke.....as I stood there telling BRIAN which car I wanted to see today, a lady drove off in that very car. She was only test driving it but Brian knew that the Yaris were selling like hot cakes that day and I'd likely not get a chance to look at it. At that point he could have convinced me too look at the other Yaris they had there that was about $1000 more. Instead he mentioned the Versa Note. I ended up spending $400 less than I thought I would because the Note was less expensive! Not to mention slightly larger and the back seat is more spacious! Anyway, I'm so thankful for this experience and for my fantastic car. read more

The sales person was very kind and helpful. They gave me a rate for a car loan, and said they couldn't do any better. I shopped around, came back and all of a sudden, they could beat that rate. I ended up buying a Kia Sportage, because the rate did end up being very good. A week after buying the vehicle, the check engine light came on. Luckily it was still under Kia's manufacturer warranty, so it did not cost anything. Apparently, the Hertz limited warranty did not cover the accelerator sensor, and they did not cover the cost of a rental car. A Hertz company couldn't cover a rental car for a week after their car had a check engine light on after one week? That was very disappointing. read more

Great experience. We went to a few other dealers first and they did bait and switch on us and lied to us. Joe from Budget helped us with our purchase of a Hyundai Sonata. The price was a no haggle price. We felt the price to be very fair. The car quality was great, love the car. It was nice to not have guys pressure you and lie to you. The Manager was also very friendly and helpful. Couldn't be more pleased. Only spent 1 1/2 hours in and out with the car. Hard to believe but true. I've never posted a bad review about a business before this, but I feel it's most definitely worth warning someone before dealing with all the hassle I've dealt with so far. First off let me start by saying the date today is August 25th, I bought my vehicle June 18th and still haven't received my license plate... The most they've offered me after contacting me multiple times is to issue me a 24 hour temp tag and I've been driving with an expired temp plate for almost a month. 3 weeks after originally purchasing this car with a down payment and pay stubs they call me and tell me they're having trouble getting the deal approved??? Mind you I've been in the car for nearly a month at this point. I send them the same documentation I provided at the initial purchase and then I get a text two days later that it's been approved?? This was my first vehicle purchase and these people have made it the most stressful ordeal possible. 10/10 recommend taking your money somewhere else. read more

My spouse and I have now purchased two vehicle out of this location; there won't be a third. Hertz offers mediocre deals on just-ok vehicles. The reason we've purchased from this location is simply because as busy professionals we can't afford to spend three weekends in a row driving around to private parties and various stand-alone dealers in pursuit of the very best deal, only to save a few hundred bucks in the end. The real problem here is lack of any appreciation for customers' business. We dealt with the same personnel for both purchases. The salesperson was a middle-aged guy who was about as non-communicative as I ever seen any salesperson. The sales manager was more friendly, but talked mostly about himself and didn't even bother to ask if I had any questions or concerns. Upon leaving, all I got from the salesperson was a "have a nice day, Sir," along with a wink and a nod. I'm sure I could have gone across the street for a to-go order of Mexican food and gotten much more appreciation for my business! read more
