The customer service here is lacking. They try to force you into their financing. If you want to go with your bank they refuse to let you wire money, and only accept cashiers checks. Here's the best part.. They won't hold the car for a few days for you to get that cashiers check. Wouldn't recommend wasting your time. Additionally, thinking back, while we were looking at cars, the one we were looking at didn't even have papers posted in any of the windows or anywhere else in or on the car. This dealership has a sell-it-and-ignore-it attitude. Be aware. Their sales also lack training for selling EVs (which is now a problem after Hertz announced dumping EVs for cheap). I purchased a Kia EV6 from here. After the purchase, no matter how many emails you write, they don't respond. You try to call, they will say they are busy. Washington state has a sales tax exemption act when buying used EVs under $30k. And the tax exemption process has to be initiated from dealers. My purchase is eligible for this tax exemption (I checked with DOL/DMV. They looked at this VIN in their system and told me that the dealer is supposed to refund the sales tax). I called and called and called the dealership. And they told me "we don't deal with that. You have to deal with it by yourself." which is different from what DOL and DOR told me. I checked online and Department of Revenue ALSO states clearly that dealers have to be the one who initiate this refund (attached images in this review). I know this not only because I asked DOL and did my homework, but also because I purchased another EV in WA before and I got the WA sales tax refund from another dealership. The process was directly from the dealership. Unlike what this location told me. Furthermore, the sales staff Kyle Gaylor lacks training even to their own company's policy on EV sales. I asked "what does your Hertz 12-month warranty covers on EV" and he said "well you know what, our 12-month warranty only covers mechanical breakdowns. EVs don't have engine nor mechanical components, so if you didn't buy our additional warranty package, your vehicle isn't covered by our included 12-month warranty". It was a shocking response. I then checked Hertz Car Sales company website and it clearly states "Hertz also covers EVs with their 12-month warranty. Not only covers the battery but also the motor and related components. WHAT? YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOUR COMPANY DOES and you are a sales? They are just NOT PREPARED and NOT EDUCATED to sell EVs. Perhaps because no EVs were under 30K for a long time so they just didn't care. But now with a lot of used EVs priced under $30K, PLUS that Hertz's new CEO strategy on dumping EVs, you can't just ignore all this and pretend you are selling traditional ICE cars like before. After looking online for a hood used car, I took a trip to Burien to check out 4 of the cross over SUV's they had on their lot. The car are all freshly cleaned and detailed and twice safety checked. If you're hesitant about buying a rental car, you don't need to be. They will print you out the CarFax for any car you're interested in. The sale person was really nice (and helpful) and wasn't pushy. My husband and I looked at 5 cars and test drove one. At no point did we feel rushed or pressured. The woman in the finance office is a delight. Helpful, kind, patient. The only reason e didn't purchase was because we decided to buy a new car instead. I went in on a Saturday to view a car. I found one I loved and started the process to purchase it. They informed me it would take some time to process the information and confirmed I could send any remaining documentation needed on the following Monday. I had not heard back on the second half of the process by Wednesday so I gave them a call to see where we were at. That was when I was told they had only held the car for 24hours, something I was not informed of, and they had actually sold it to someone else already. To sum up, I had to wait for them to process everything and while waiting they sold the car to someone else instead. After all that I've decided to just go elsewhere for a car. read more

To whom it may concern, I am writing to express my anger about the sales team in Seattle, including the regional manager. I was ready to test drive (and buy) a Chevy Bolt EUV (Stock Number 57850) at its originally listed "no haggle" price of $16,748 on Tuesday, June 11. I arrived for a test drive and told it was "underpriced" and not available until it was priced correctly. The Seattle manager called his regional manager who manually lifted the price to above $20,000. I was told that the price had to settle and to check back in a day or two. The sales team took my number to call me when the price was settled. I checked the "no haggle" price online on Thursday, June 13 and it was listed at $16,640. I made a reservation to test drive on Friday, June 14. On Friday, June 14, the "no haggle" price was listed at $16,177. I was told that this was not the right price because the "corporate AI" kept changing the price and the Seattle sales team was not allowed to sell the car until the price had settled and was approved by corporate. I was told that since I first came to test drive the car on Tuesday, that there were 5 other buyers interested. I kept my test drive appointment for 5:00 pm on Friday, June 14. I was called on Friday, June 14, at 2:15 and told the car was not available. The sales agent was "called away" and told me he would call back. Then, I was called back 5 minutes later at 2:20 pm and told that the car had been sold at $16,177. The car had been sold out from under me at a lower price. I am angry because I clearly received inaccurate and misleading information about the "no haggle" price. I was even willing to pay for the car at the first "no haggle" price. I understand that the car was sought after by multiple parties. But, it creates the appearance that the price was manipulated for another buyer and that the sales team was never going to provide me the opportunity to buy the car. Instead it was going to make sure that a different buyer was going to get the car at a lower price than I was willing to pay. I understand that used cars sales have a bad reputation but I had thought that the Hertz brand with a "no haggle" pricing was going to be more honest and not deal under the table while leading me on. I hope this is not the practice of all Hertz sales teams and regional managers. read more

Pretty damn impressed how easy this buying process was. The sales office isn't pretty, and there is no cushy lounge with balloons, but the cars are as you see them and already priced wholesale, so no haggling required. I test drove 3 minivans before deciding on the Town and Country and they gave me a fair trade in value on my old car. Professional sales person and they were very patient with my 2 year old running around with me for the entire process. I actually found this car buying process much less stressful than a traditional dealership because there is no tricky math and you already know you're getting the best pricing on a 1-2 year old car that you're really going to find anywhere. I shopped around quite a bit and am very happy with my decision to by here. Things to know before you arrive: Bring your driver's license and proof of insurance. Bring the registration and title of the vehicle you plan to trade in. There isn't really flexibility on price since they are a wholesaler, but you can negotiate trade in value somewhat. The whole buying process start to finish is about 3 to 4 hours if you have a trade in and require financing. It's a very low pressure sales environment, luckily. :) read more

While I've had luck with rental car sales locations elsewhere (which is why I tried this place), I wouldn't wish the experience of having to interact with these employees on anyone. My purchase ended with the salesman, James Allen, taking me into an office, closing the door and raising his voice to me while accusing me of lying to his supervisor - after small miscommunication apparently. After that, the keys were left in my new car without anyone there to see me off, shake my hand, or make me feel good about the large check I'd just written. It was surreal. I followed up with James' supervisor, Victor, to file a complaint after this unsettling incident and he patronizingly told me that car purchasing can be very intimidating, even for men like him who worked in car sales. Victor apologized for James' behavior, and offered to pay for the keyless entry to my car (which I had been told existed when it did not). He gave me his cellphone number and when I called him to follow up, he would only respond via text, and did not answer the call he requested from the company installing the keyless entry. There's $280 out of pocket for me, on top of a $15K car purchase. This is a horrible place to purchase a car. Their dishonesty, lack of organization, and incredibly disrespectful staff were shocking - almost a caricature of used car sales. Do not do business here. read more

Very standard car buying experience here. The salesman, Brandon, was super nice and easy to work with. He was polite, friendly, and straight forward. Since the prices are 'no-haggle' its basically just you either want the car or you don't. I did not experience any high-pressure sales during the actual car shopping portion of the visit. Test drove a couple cars and found one within my price range (2016 Nissan Versa Note). Unfortunately that is where the pleasantries end. I went upstairs to sign my paperwork and the lady I worked with was extremely odd. She started off nice enough until it came time to offer extended warranties on my vehicle. I listened politely as I know this is a routine she has to go through, but knew in advance I wouldn't be purchasing any further warranty as it was out of my budget. Once I declined, she became very aggressive, dismissive, and condescending. She shoved papers in my face to sign, and listed in detail every single option I was declining. She made comments like "So what are you gonna do about repairs? You're just not gonna have them?" and "Well this is the average cost per year and you might as well just add another $2000 to that". It was, in a word, bizarre. The experience with the finance lady was so unpleasant it makes me want to give this place a MUCH lower rating. Bought a car here recently, later discovered there's small dent and a rust spot on the roof. The car is a 2017 and later discovered broken glass everywhere when I put the rear seats down. I called this dealership but all they would is use touch up paint that looks like finger paint and a detail. Would've been nice to know about the rust now it's going to spread if I don't do anything about its Emailed customer service says they escalated to the team of the dealership and been over month and nothing from them not a call or voicemail. The VERY WORST car buying experience I've ever had. First, salesman James Allen was completely unprofessional in his demeanor and communication with us after we left. (Please refer to text message screenshots) We went to this location because they had the vehicle we were looking for. Took it for a test drive, realized that the vehicle had no floor mats which would cost about $105 to replace, no big deal, but my husband is an Alabama resident of which we will be registering the vehicle in Alabama and the salesman insisted we pay Washington sales tax, of which is not the case, we would pay Alabama state tax and the registration would also be in Alabama as well as the license plates. We had a set amount that we would spend for the vehicle of which was $451 less than they were asking including sales tax and such. He brought out a illegible copy of price breakdown and when my husband asked if he could come down a little more he said, "no" and didn't even offer an alternative vehicle. (They had six of these vehicles on the lot) he simply said goodnight as we went to leave, then he proceeded to text me. (Included) Over $451? Honestly? Then his bullshit texts to me? After we told him we were not interested? Do not go to this location. Or if you do. Do not go to James Allen. I was criticized recently for being "funny" as they have a "no haggle" price policy. However, we left the dealership and simply said we were not interested. It was at that time, the salesman continued to text me, even AFTER we left. When Victor the manager came out to address the hostile customer, Victor calmly explained the anticipated time (1 hour or so) it would take to properly complete the customer's financial purchase, and the lady said she didn't want to wait that long. Like everyone else has all the extra time, but not her...cause she's somehow special?!?!?! The lady wanted to keep the car until the next day, which the manager said it would be a hold over or something like that, and let her know he would have to report the car stolen to the police. BUYER BEWARE. This place is one big scam. We went in looking for a simple car to replace one for running around town. We get there and Joe (Giovanni) comes out to help. He shows us a few cars and we test drive a basic Focus. It seems ok but we are nervous because it's an old rental car. We say we'd like to take it in to get checked and he assures us up and down it goes through a rigorous check and everything is okay. We shouldn't worry the car had a warranty. He promises that if IF anything happens to call and it would be okay. They'd help. We buy the car 2 days later the transmissions goes out The Ford dealer we take it to apologizes for hertz. They said this was a known defect and should have been fixed a year ago. Then they tell us the tread on the tires is dangerously low. It's clear the tired have never been rotated. I just purchased a car from this place, and so far I am very happy with the results! I got a 2016 model in my price range, which I saw advertised by them on Edmunds.com. I was happy that the price they posted online was the same price they asked for in person. We worked with James, who was straight-forward and asked what I was looking for and what color. He brought out the same car in two different colors for me, and it was clear they were both taken care of very well. Throughout the buying process, James did not give us a feeling of being shady, or lying to us. He was very honest, and did not pressure us to buy the car. The only things keeping me from giving this experience 5 stars is the finance lady, and the fact that they didn't fill up my tank at all... The finance lady was very rude, pessimistic, lethargic, and unenthusiastic. She was super pushy about buying different insurance bundles, and when we declined to buy them she literally said "well that's going to come back and haunt you". When we were done going over all the papers, she gave us a half-assed "thank you for buying from us, we really appreciate it". As for the gas situation, the manager said happily that my car would have a full tank of gas. Well James informed me that it only had half a tank (he had been cleaning my car), then when I was driving home I saw that they only left a quarter tank of gas... I asked a lot of them because I don't buy cars very often and wanted to make sure I knew everything I could think of. He let me test drive three different cars.... which I know was annoying but he didn't even think twice he went and grabbed the keys. It was a pleasant car experience. I would buy here again for sure. The finance lady was persistent with selling the warranties, but after all that is her job can't blame her for trying. I wasn't interested though. Despite a good car buying experience Hertz get a 2-star from me because Hertz is not transparent to its customers. I got a used car from Hertz Burien and even after purchase I was not informed of the Incident that was associated with the car. The incident was related to damage near the right headlight that the rental company found and documented while a customer left the vehicle after renting it. See the attached photo of the report. I asked couple times before and during purchase for any issues including accident or hits and was told that there were none. While I was purchasing, the finance person was walking me through each document I was getting for the car. Except for the Incident Report, I was shown every document. When I got home and going through the documents "excited for my new car", I discovered the incident report in the bunch. I hate when seller is not transparent - not that I would have not bought the car but not telling the customer what the car went through in past and just making a sale is mere cheating. The store manager did apologize on phone but how does it matter - the sale was already made. So go ahead and buy cars from them because the car I bought is in good shape and I am loving it but be prepared for surprises post purchase. read more

My experience with Hertz has probably been one of the worst experiences. When I arrived, I had been originally looking for a white car but, because my kids mentioned wanting a red car (which was more expensive) the sales guy brought out a red one. Fine, car color doesn't matter that much - but then he tried to blame the fact he brought out the wrong car on me. He begins talking about how "spacious" the car was - it's a Spark, it's not spacious by any means, but he was clearly trying to impress me. I ignored him and began talking about the features that I like including the LATCH system, which he had to ask what that was, and how the safety ratings for the 2014 were fairly high considering how compact the car was. He was more interested in pointing out the car was big enough to fit a spare... woo hoo? We then got ready for the test drive and I stepped over to the driver's side when he shouted at me, "I have to go with you". Yeah, I know, that's why the passenger side door was left open. The drive was awkward and short.. and I was glad to be done with it. When we returned to the dealer, my sales man left for over an hour to work on financing. I decided to go get a money order for my down payment. While I was standing in line, I got an angry call from the sales man asking where I was (mind you, my kids and ex husband were still there so, you know, he could have asked them). I explained where I was and he told me to hurry up because they were done. I got back and was told that they were "generously" charging me a ridiculous interest rate and wouldn't be giving me my AAA discount on the car. I was so frustrated and wanted it over since I plan on refinancing the car in a few months anyway. I went upstairs to sign the paperwork and the finance guy was so disorganized. I was never given my temporary registrations and a couple weeks later, I actually got a call telling me that my paperwork had not been done correctly and I needed to come back in if I wanted them to order my plates. When I arrived and told them I wanted a copy of my temporary registration, they said that I was wrong and must of been given it so I let them go through the paperwork and - SURPRISE - I was right, no registration. Flash forward to yesterday - my temporary plates expire in less than a week and I never received a call from the company that they had been received so I call them only to find out that they had them! They don't have any idea why I wasn't notified, apparently, and offered to FedEx them to me. In the future, I'd rather pay more for a car than deal with this skeevy place. I just finally bought a car here, after visiting 5 times over the last month... So I figure I can write a pretty honest review of this place. When I first came in, they had just gotten a big shipment in and the lot was jam packed. They said the new inventory would be up on the website about a day. Cool, more cars to chose from, I thought... but little did I know this would later make it a lot harder to find a car. Anyhow, I went ahead with my reason for being there, to look at one of their Pathfinders I'd seen online. I checked it out that day, and then returned on a Sunday to test drive a similar PF as well as a Sienna they had listed. I came with the stock numbers for both, and then things got a little weird. It was as if they couldn't find the cars on their lot. I was seeing lots of cars that fit what I was interested in, and asked why they still hadn't updated their inventory. They told me that the big shipment they got had been delivered to the wrong place and it was supposed to have gone to Portland- a pretty big error :/. But as for the cars they already had on their site, they were telling me that many of them were also unavailable, but they couldn't figure out which ones. I worked with Jim initially, and walked away having to decide between the cars...a couple more problems though- 1: Some one bought the PF right after I test drove it, and 2: There was a giant crack in the Sienna windshield. Jim said he'd call back about getting the windshield replaced, and seemed bewildered as to which of the other PF's were available. After a couple weeks of calling in to check about the windshield and no reply from Jim, I decided to go in again when I saw another Sienna available on their site. This was when I worked with Eric and I'm so glad, because this ended up being the car for us! He helped me decide between the two Siennas, one of which was in a minor accident. ***Note that rental sales places will not negotiate the price- they call it the "no haggle" rule***, although I do think that they price them pretty accurately and take the wear and tear and miles into account. Also there is no pressure and no trickery, which I appreciate. He was agreeable about the option to take it to a mechanic to have it inspected, so we came back a couple days later and did so. It's their policy that the salesperson comes along, so here's where Eric gets major props! He sat in a sweltering mechanic shop for an hour in 90 degree heat (it was literally like a sauna) while my husband and I waited in Starbucks (I'm 8 months pregnant). The mechanic explained some minor problems and Eric was patient and professional about it all. After getting the go-ahead to buy it, now knowing much more about the car, we decided to buy it. We came in the following day to do the business and he had washed and detailed it and added a bit of gas. He also found the jump seat and installed it, now making it an 8 passenger vehicle, awesome! I am really glad I worked with him because he was so chill and accommodating, and I'm pretty picky! He is also got another key and remote ordered, b/c they only had one. Much appreciated! Again, Eric was so helpful! Now for the notorious finance lady- I'm glad I'd already read the reviews about her, because I would have been shell-shocked if I hadn't! As soon as we talked to her, I told my husband, "yep, that's that's the one!". She seemed to act like she had a personal problem with us, which was impossible since we'd just met her. As one guy described it in his review, she was 'threatening' in demeanor. I knew it would be rough declining the added warranties, but I thought everything else would be pretty cut and dry since we were paying cash. Well, it was and wasn't. She still made us feel very uncomfortable during the process of signing the various papers, and tbh I left feeling a little less human as a result of that interaction. Anyway, I spent about an hour with her, but I feel bad that she has to spend time with herself ALL THE TIME. Hmm. But during this important last step in the process, where people have already made the final decision, shelling out tons of money and excited to be buying a car, it would be nice to have someone uplifting who makes customers feel good about their purchase decision, instead of the opposite. Sorry for the long review, but I wanted to be thorough- Alllll the kudos to Eric, he was great! I really hate car shopping. When the bf woke me up excitedly to shop, I dragged myself there and was ready for a bad time. I was pleasantly surprised, because we were the first ones there on a Saturday morning and it was no pressure to choose anything right away. We test drove a few cars before the bf decided, and it took maybe 2.5 hours to get everything else done after that. They even beat the rate our bank gave us, which was really surprising. Like others, we were given a ton of information about the warranty. Our guy was not pushy - but having a previous rental car myself, I know how important a warranty is. We got one, but I get how it pushes most people out of their preferred price range. We went over $15 a month more than we wanted to pay because of it, but we knew issues are bound to pop up with it being heavily used before in a rental fleet so it would be so stupid to not get one. My car had my wheel bearings fail like a month after I got it, and I would have been pretty depressed without the warranty covering everything. Long story short, check these guys out. Yes, they're gonna ask you to get a warranty - even though it is DEFINITELY in your best interest to, our guy said 3 times "you don't have to.." and we knew that. We wanted to. The place itself is great. But the finance lady is absolutely awful. She will bully u to get u to accept every warranty or coverage she can get u to take and she doesn't take no for an answer. In addition the warranty is soooo overpriced for what it covers. If u say no to something she does her best to make u feel stupid rather than jus accepting ur answer. I always have been labeled as the 'nice girl' and I rarely ever complain. But there are a few instances where I feel others need to know the level of service they may be walking into. Edin and the Manager Scott are possible the most unprofessional people I have ever met. They say "they want their customers to leave happy and have a good experience" so why not, when given the opportunity, create a great experience for a customer that previously had a bad one? Dealing with Edin was horrible as he was a pushy, non listening, unprofessional man. Which made me leave unhappy. I came back at a later date because they had a car I was really interested in and dealt with James (who was very nice) but then Scott "the manager" stepped in as we were filling out the paperwork and he informed me that because I was "associated" with someone who had written a bad review on Hertz that he wouldn't sell me a car. So because I (who did not write, was mentioned or knew of the review) was associated with that person, he dismissed a sale for over $10,000. He mentioned "we want our customers to have a good experience and because of that review, we aren't going to sell you a car" ... well now, that isn't a good experience TWICE and now it isn't just one bad review by a friend but one from me, as well, my sister who was with me. He could have been a lot more professional, he could have turned what was previously a bad experience into a good one which would have looked more positively on the company he represents. Hertz should be careful because "manager" Scott does NOT represent them very well. read more

UPDATE: Gianni saw my review and proceeded to berate me via text message at 9:30PM on a Saturday night. I'm leaving a transcript below of our conversation. GIANNI: Hey Tyler, I'm not exactly sure what's with that review you left on google, but I only ever treated you with kindness, worked multiple days to secure your loan for you, as far as working it out with your banks reps to waive their stipulations preventing you from buying, only to have you buy elsewhere. Also, we pulled your credit in an attempt to get you approved elsewhere, which was at your request. Also, our prices are advertised as "no-haggle," which is why you did not get a discount. We do not discount at all. Your review is rude, untrue, and inflammatory. TYLER: This is exactly how you should not handle a bad review, I'll go ahead and update my review to include your word-for-word response. There was no stipulations other than what's standard for the self-employed. I found a car a model year newer for the exact same price and you said "I just don't believe that's a legitimate price." well the price was legitimate which is why I went with that vehicle. Who in their right mind would pay the same price for an older model with more miles? GIANNI: Bud, you wrote falsehoods about myself and my company. I've already brought it to their attention. There's more but I've exceeded my text limit. He continued to message me until 10:15 when I finally started ignoring him. I started my car buying experience about a month ago, I used the Capital One Auto Navigator to find what I thought was the perfect 2017 Ford Fusion Hybrid, it was selling for 16,950 at this lot. I called because it's about an hour drive to confirm the car was still available and what documents I would need to provide for the Financing, I spoke Gianni/Johnny and was told what documents I need to bring, well he was wrong about my documents so after an hour drive and two hours at the lot, I end up leaving empty handed and told I need to handle the documents on my own since I'm self-employed. I leave and get ahold of Capital One three days later, because Gianni decided he needed to send me a text message twice a day every day until I was able to get ahold of Capital One, on Monday I'm finally able to get ahold of the financing team and was inform that Hertz financing just had no idea what it was doing. I finally get it straighted out with Capital One my financing is in the clear but at this point a 2018 Ford Fusion Hybrid SE had come Available at Marysville Ford (it had been used as the loaner car on the lot) for the exact price as the 2017 that Hertz had available, I kindly told Gianni I found a better deal and was curious if he could match because I would take a model year older if I could get a better interest rate. He responded nope just go ahead and take the better deal. I had spend days talking Gianni and he wasn't even willing to offer a better price, I would have bought his car if he'd even just given me 950 dollars off, because it would have put me in a better interest rate saving me a couple thousand over the life of the loan, but no he wouldn't even offer one red cent lower. I wish this was where my story with Hertz ended but no, as I mentioned above I was already Approved through Capital One at an interest rate I was happy with, well Gianni had decided he was going to run my credit with not ONE but Five other credit agencies so that was FIVE hard inquiries on my credit report dropping my Credit score by 10 full points, I HAD ALREADY SECURED FINANCING BEFORE EVEN STEPPING ON THIS LOT. My suggestion is run away from this lot as fast as possible, I'm graduating with my Bachelor's in Hospitality Business Management, my car was a graduation present to myself Hertz sure took the fun out of it. I will say though I have a beautiful Velvet Burgundy 2018 Ford Fusion Hybrid SE, with way less miles than what they were going to sell me so that's the silver lining to my story. I have called 8+ times and left 8+ messages about a car I purchased from them in the last 2 months and they always say someone will call me back and they never do. The only way I can talk to anyone is if I drive down there. That is ridiculous. read more

Recently bought a 2016 Toyota 4Runner here. Called ahead of time and showed up to see the car, noticed they had moved it and thought nothing of it. Car drove ok and seamed in good order so I bought it. After parking it in my garage for about 2 hours noticed a puddle under the front. Less then 2 weeks after that it broke down and had to be towed to the dealer. New serpentine belt, and crank seal for $600.00 plus. Warranty doesn't cover! Get it back and it leaked more, figure out its leaking power steering fluid and engine oil still. Go to second dealer ship for repair, new power staring pump and oil sensor for almost $1500. Hurtz denies knowing about the leaks and won't cover the repair coast. Don't bye a car from these folks! read more
