I don't have very many one star ratings on any business, but when safety is a factor you don't get many do-overs. My son and I went to this Hertz location to pick up an insurance arranged rental while his car is being repaired. The Hertz associates were friendly and somewhat professional. There was computer training going on with the rental process that was a bit slow, but hey, everyone has to learn, right? Finally our paperwork was completed and printed and we were told to wait while our rental was brought to us. The vehicle was a four door sedan, and we were told to perform a walk around inspection to record any visible damage. There were several dings / dents and scratches that were simply cosmetic. I noted and pointed out the damaged front passenger side wheel and cover, as well as the missing paint due to a sideswipe of the same side front fender. The Hertz associate acknowledged the damage to the wheel and tried to convince me that it was minor and of no consequence. I disagreed and explained that the bent wheel was a safety hazard potentially leading to a deflated tire at worst and a vibrating wheel and lost wheel cover at best. The associate disagreed but reluctantly offered a different vehicle if we'd wait a few minutes. After 30-40 minutes of waiting I checked on the status of our rental. I was told that they were waiting on a return so that they could turn that car into our rental. I asked how long that would be and at least they honestly replied they didn't know. It could be 1 or two hours or more. I inquired if we could get a larger or smaller vehicle and we were told we couldn't have a larger vehicle and there were no smaller cars available. With that info in hand, I thanked them and left. The bottom line here is that these associates attempted to give us an unsafe rental car. I'm not sure if they fully comprehend or understand the magnitude of the damaged wheel. It's a small dent on the wheel but the integrity of that wheel and it's safety have been compromised. DO NOT rent from this location. Spend the extra money and rent somewhere else, One of the worst experiences. Whoever is running this branch needs to be reevaluated. Very lazy staff, they screen their calls and dont pick up your calls. Zero customer service..Will never come back to this location let a lone ever renting from Hertz again.. Enterprise rent a car never failed me. I'm done with Hertz. Btw.Hire people who want to be there..the kids that work there don't want to be there. Booked my car through AAA for this location about 2 weeks in advance, specially requesting a mid-size SUV. When I arrived there were 2 people in the small office to the right of the hotel entrance. As a Gold Member, all I had to do was confirm the card on file. Car was ready in one of the spots near the Hertz-marked spots. A nice Nissan Pathfinder, red with black interior, clean, with about 30,000 miles. Drop off was even easier, as I parked the car and encountered one of the same employees who'd been in the office at pick up in the lot. Im 0/2 at this location. The first time I returned a car here they did not close out my reservation for two days and charged me with a fee saying I returned it to the airport. The second time I got a car here they tried giving me a car with no gas. Very disorganized and suspicious. I called the hertz hotline to complain about this location as I believe it needs to be investigated closely ... the hotline didn't really help or give any feedback. read more

I went online to reserve a rental last Monday and they charged my card for the rental. I had them charge my card cause it was cheaper online than in person. So when I got there to pick up the card the checked my credit and determined I couldn't use my debit card I used to pay with. Instead of paying me back the guy told me to contact customer service to get my refund. I called the same day and the day after and they told me a request has been put in each time I called and one representative told me I should get it after the drop off date which was the 22nd of February. I called a week after and another person said a request just put in for the refund and I should wait 5 to 7 business days after I already waited. I feel this company is a SCAM and stealing my money and not want to refund me. REFUND MY MONEY NOW. read more

It's a very small office right to the outside entrance of the Marriott Hotel on Windward Parkway. One one person in attendance so if you have a Monday morning business rental rush you are going to have a wait. Cars are parked in the Marriott parking lot. You will have to schlep all your belongings and walk through the aisles to grab the car. I rented an Altima. Wanted one with a built in GPS since this was my first trip to Kentucky area. No such luck. Luckily I was smart enough to download the backup app from my iPhone to use as directions. Also wanted a non-smoking vehicle, but I could swear that I smelled old smoke in the car. The car did not have the no smoking symbol on the dashboard. Which added to my suspicions. The car however performed very well it had 38,000 miles on it no issues with the driving. I was told that I would be contacted when a vehicle was ready and was never contacted despite leaving additional contact information. Terrible staff. One was being trained and had no idea what was going on and the "manager" left him alone to help us. I had two small children and a baby with me and we were supposed to be driving to the beach for spring break. They wouldn't let me use my debit card to rent the car for the deposit even though the car was ALREADY PAID FOR!!! Then when I tried to split the car between two credit cards they also refused me. I rented this car over a month ago and paid for it and they refused to work with me at all. The "manager" refused to let me call her supervisor as well and kept telling me tshe was the only person I could talk to. We rent cars alot. to the extent that they know us by name. This is located right outside the doors for the windward Marriott. We use the rewards programs and literally paid $0.12 to rent a car to drive to Memphis one weekend. They have a large selection of vehicles and being that our family is all over 6 ft, they are accommodating to us. Ive gotten to drive everything from mazdas to kias to VW's to chevys to fords, and a wide mix im between. Its almost like a weekend test drive :) The staff is friendly and the cars are always clean, if for somet reason there is something we dont like about one they are always super nice about swapping it out for us no hassle. read more

The worst Hertz outlet I've used. The staff does not show up on time, leaves early, or takes long breaks during the day. I've unfortunately had to rent here multiple times and it's always been frustrating. If you complain that nobody was answering the phone they will lie and say they were busy on the phone when you called. That office only has one phone, no call holding, and will ring as busy if somebody is really there on the phone. Unbelievable. Try Avis in Alpharetta instead. read more

This is the worst place ever to rent a car. I booked a car and I took an uber to pick it up, and when I arrived to the location the lady told me: "we make offers based on expected returns. So, at this time we don't have any car". So, She had a car, but it was more expensive than what I was booked. I had to take an uber back home, spent 32 dollars and no car rented. So I don't normally have negative experiences with highly rated yelp locations, but today I encountered an extremely rude hertz salesman who made me realize I would rather walk in the rain with tendinitis than to give them any of my business. I already reserved an itinerary online for a vehicle for a 5 day period and did not drive myself, so I was eager to leave in one of their rentals. The salesman asked for my ID and card. I asked how much would be charged, since he didn't previously state it. He said the car rental plus 200. I was a little taken by surprise since I've rented before and never had to pay that much so I asked if he said 200, and he confirmed. I said alright because I really needed a vehicle and now or my other option would be walk in the rain with a cane. after a few minutes of moving some money around in my accounts to accommodate for this 200 dollar influx, I had to ask again. So you said that it would be my entire rental plus 200? He then said, it's actually 25 dollars. I was partially surprised and very confused. I said that's a very big difference. He asked me to repeat myself and I said, that is just a very big difference between 200 and 25. His response? he talks to me like a child and says, well it is a 15,000 dollar car. I would rather walk with my tendinitis in the rain than give these rude people my business. Way to go #hertz at #Marriott. I chose you because I live here, not visiting. We have rented several cars from this location and have had issues each time. One rental car the AC did not work but we did not realize it until we got to FL and it was stifling. Most recent experience, I reserved the car online and did not add the fuel fill service, but they charged me for it anyway and when I showed up in person to show them my gas receipt and that I returned the car full of gas, they said there was no recourse. Very very bad experience. Rented a Mini Van for long weekend. Staff was not trained properly. She didn't give any information about the return policy, even though I asked multiple times. This is the first time, i rented a car from Hertz. I returned my car within the turnaround time, however they charged for additional two days, saying it is a long weekend. At least they should have informed properly after asking multiple times. I asked for a refund, no proper response. Branch Manager Mr. Morgan, he thinks he is a street smart guy, will act very well saying we are here to help you.. bla bla... its all a joke.. they dont care about anything.. they want to suck people money.... i paid $300 for the trip.. they deducted $215 extra.. they refunded $50... what a joke.. these people will never prosper in their life and their business will be closed down. read more

I had to have some repairs done to my vehicle and needed a rental last minute. Rebecaa was able to get me into a car asap. She also came and picked me up since I didn't have a mode of transportation. To top it all off they has a special weekend deal going and what I thought was going to be a major expense was pretty much painless. This Hertz car rental is very conveniently located right off 400 at the Marriott Hotel. They partner with AAA, which gave me a great discount. They were very helpful and patient with me, as daily my plans changed. I notified them and they were totally compliant. DO NOT rent from this location. Horrible experience. I rented a car on a Sunday expecting to have it 15 days (insurance loss). The car was 3/4 full. The lady who walked me out to the car SAW that. I returned the car with a full tank. I have a receipt showing the day I filled it up. They are claiming they had to top the car off with 2 gallons of gas, and they charged me $9.99/gallon to do it. Total BS. The receipt also shows that I drove the car 877 miles. Again, total BS. I had it for 4 days and drove it to work and back (7 mile round-trip commute). I rented the vehicle from 11/1/2015 to 11/5/2015. The are JUST NOW providing me with a return receipt on 12/2/2015. I called them the morning after I returned it asking for a receipt and total charge. They could not provide one and mumbled off something about their computer not working and he would call me back. He never did. Just POOR service all together. When I called them to discuss the fuel charge, they were unsympathetic and kept quoting that they have a 'big sign on the wall' with their rules. I understand their rules. And if I had returned the car the way they said I did, then I would agree. But they are 100% incorrect and trying to charge me an extra $22 that should be refunded to me. My wife and I had a such a horrible customer service experience with this Hertz location, that I decided to actually leave a negative review as a warning. I am a business consultant who travels quite frequently and uses rental car companies regularly. Normally, I use other rental companies. Last week was my first experience with Hertz and it will be my last! My insurance company set us up at this location after my wife was involved in a collision. After the reservation was made, I called to confirm a pick-up time. They indicated that the car was ready. When we arrived to pick up the car, before another appointment, they told my wife that they did not have a car for her!!?? What was the point of telling me that the car was ready for pickup if there was no car? They did not attempt to find a car that was ready at another location, nor did they offer to give her a larger car for convenience (the insurance company booked a mid-size). After having an argument with a staff member there, suddenly a sub-compact car was available! We settled for this because we were now late for our appointment. The staff did absolutely nothing to make the situation better or provide good customer service. I will NEVER use this location or this rental company again. Buyer/Customer beware! read more
