I recently rented a vehicle from this location, and I had no issues at all. Their customer service is outstanding. I accidentally left my favorite sunglasses in the rental over the weekend. I called them first thing Monday morning to see if they had them, and not only did they find them, they saved them for me to pick up. I didn't think I would see them again. Was told I wasn't going to get charged an underage fee. Asked at the beginning and return of the rental. I offered my AAA membership to show which should waive the underage fee, but was told that I wouldn't need to. When I returned the rental, I asked again if I would get charged it, and they said no. The service agent Frank is unwilling to exercise any means of providing any measurable accommodations. Has no idea of how to maneuver through adversity. I am a President circle loyalty member and as I walk in to pickup my reserved paid for vehicle, he says there's no cars available I can't do anything for you. No mention of calling any surrounding offices to help the situation. Shrugs his shoulders and asks for the next customer. I took it upon myself to call neighboring facilities to enquirer inventory availability and got myself into a car. I had a fantastic experience with Hertz in Camarillo. Everyone was extremly accommodating, even in the choice of car I could pick from. Upon return, Lyft was so busy that I would have been stranded there for 45 min. They immediately gave me a ride with a smile on their faces. Incredible. The worst customer service especially the employee Joseph. State Farm set up a rental for my boyfriend after his accident. He was assured I could be an authorized driver and my debit card could be used on his behalf. State Farm spoke with Joseph and said everything was taken care of, NO PROBLEM. From the look of the facility it looked shady, nothing like any rental facility I have ever encountered. My boyfriend introduced himself stating he was there for his rental car. Joseph was immediately rude, and said he wanted me to be aware if an accident happened with either driver, I was financially responsible if an accident occurred because my credit card would be on file and I would be charged. He continued to reiterate their policy. I understand policies but his demeanor was so out of line. He advised us I wouldn't be covered for any accidentals. This was the opposite of what State Farm informed us. I personally have full coverage under my insurance and so does my boyfriend. We walked out in disbelief of how he was treating a customer. Upon leaving I contacted my agent through Farmers. Her recommendation was not to use Hertz and the whole experience was handled very unprofessional. About an hour later Joseph called my boyfriend and left a voicemail stating this: He escalated his situation to a general manager unfortunately they could not accept someone else's credit card. And my credit card would not work for his rental. It was interesting how he was ready to sell their own insurance and take my credit card until we walked out. read more

Hertz in Camarillo, over charged me from my contract price. They gave me my invoice at location & I immediately told them this is wrong. They said they would immediately take care of the over-charge. I made two additional calls to them and they said it will be taken care of. The 3rd call I spoke to branch manager, and again no refund or call back. I am extremely disappointment in their lip service after 22 days with no refund , I called my charge card company to handle. They have good cars but needs to greatly approve on customer service. read more

Did not call me or reach out, I found this out after I was dropped off to pick up my rental. I am a Gold member and have used this location at least 20 times over the previous two years. First time renting from hertz due to my car being fixed. They gave me a car that had stains all over it and I was disgusted but that is the only one they had so I took it with no choice plus I knew I wasn't going to use it often. I returned the car no problem and two weeks later seen they charged me on my credit card. I had no idea for what! So I called and kept getting transferred and they said because it didn't have a full tank of gas which it did indeed have a full tank before I dropped it off. Like I said who saves a receipt two weeks later! So lesson learned never again will I rent or recommend anyone to go to Hertz. Should have read reviews before considering them. read more

DO NOT RENT FROM HERE!!! ENTERPRIZE 805-382-3307. The full size truck I reserved (which Hertz called me the morning of the first day of rental to confirm, mind you), I was unable to pick-up due to the fact that not one employee verified the vehicle was ready to release to the customer. I was excited when I saw the truck sitting in the parking lot and my first impression was, awesome it's a 4x4. As the clerk is processing my payment he advises me that he cannot rent the vehicle because it needs an oil change. How do they not know this beforehand?!? What kind of bunk procedures does Hertz have or not have in place. This is basic processes and procedures. Why is it that this is only confirmed at the time of payment!?!? I'm going to a cabin with my family and specifically ordered a truck to haul and have plenty of room for all the ice chests and gear we take up there. I'm upset, we go looking the lot for a replacement of course there are no other trucks available not even from another store. This put a huge wrench in our plans. I end up in a standard suv when they had a full size SUV sitting right there on the lot. I was told they couldn't rent that to me because it was reserved for someone else. I call BS on that excuse because it was an upgrade and above his pay grade to authorize. Well WTHeck I reserved a truck and you didn't have any problem not renting it to me, was it because I'm a woman or a Mexican or was it because I didn't go on a tangent! At this point I have the clerk call the manager, John, who also manages the Airport Hertz in Oxnard, who conveniently doesn't answer his phone. The clerk offers me a $20 discount, at that point I ask the clerk to have the manager call me the next day when he gets in. I didn't hear anything from the "manager" my whole week rental. This incompetence on Hertz's part delayed my trip and caused an enormous amount of unnecessary stress!!! I returned the car, ask the same clerk to have the "manager" call me. I put manager in quotes because you have to manager to earn the title. Next I will be calling corporate with the hope that they have a sense of customer service. read more

Rented a Hertz van for al2 weeks and halfway in I was pulled over in Texas by since the Hertz rental vehicle had expired registration tags, and the paperwork was not up to date. According to Law enforcement the van could not be driven and needed to be off the road and towed. I tried to contact Hertz Roadside for 3 days/nights. My AT&T call logs will show from June 3-5, multiple calls made to Hertz and Hertz roadside and hours spent on hold & still was not able to reach Hertz roadside. Finally on June 5, I called my insurance, they were able to get ahold of Hertz after 2-3 hours. The vehicle was supposed to be towed that night, but Hertz Roadside was 14 hours late. I had several expenses such as hotel, storage unit for the cargo in rental vehicle, and multiple Uber/Lyfts, one way ticket for air fare back home, and here we are June 17, 2021 and the only thing or contact I have had with hertz was a bill for over $1000. Until they clear this up reimburse my expenses and a refund my review and rating should not even be a one star. read more

Bo was the most unprofessional, inappropriate and a very confrontational & then passive aggressive employee that was working at Hertz on 5/30/17. Even though I was early to pick up my car, Bo made me & every customer that walked in aware of that consistently and did not help me until 3 hours of waiting until everyone was helped and I was left alone with him. I did not confront him during the 3 hours, but other customers were begging for him to help me, he refused. On the bright side, I'm very appreciative for Corporate Hertz being very professional in hearing my concerns and the district manager, Steven, who called me within hours to try to rectify the situation. read more

This wasn't the first time, that's why I'm finally leaving a review. Called the evening before we wanted a rental for the next morning. I specifically called and talked to a HUMAN so there wouldn't be any confusion. And guess what.....we waited till they opened the next morning to go get it and low and behold they didn't have it! If I could give them -10 stars today I would have.I made a reservation for 8:00 am thinking if I got my car to the shop by 7:30 I'd have a chance to make my Monday morning sales meeting by 8:30. WRONG!!!!!! I called Hertz Rent A Car on Dailey Dr at 7:30am to be picked up. 8:20 rolls around and crickets! They didn't have the common courtesy to call me!!!!So I call the guy at Hertz and he sounds half asleep says "yeah we're really sorry we'll get there when we can"!?!?!? WHAT I HAD A MEETING. So the owner of the aforementioned shop drove me to work which was only 10 minutes away. I later got a car from Enterprise. They picked me up on time had a clean car waiting. I have been a Gold member for many years. When I made a reservation, the price seemed a but high so I called Avis (which I had never ever rented from) and they beat the price by almost 30%. I am giving this location 5 stars for my most recent experience with Hertz. I arrived a little late to pick up my car on Friday and rather than being chastised, I was pleasantly upgraded to a really nice car which was perfect for my weekend road trip! The service I received was prompt, professional and courteous, as usual. In fact, I've rented from this location several times and I've never had a bad experience. I find them very easy to work with and the prices are always better than what other companies charge with no hidden fees. I'm really surprised to see the 1-star reviews posted here ... all I can say is that that I'm very pleased with my overall experience with Hertz and I'll continue to book with them. read more

This place is the worst! Don't go here! They gave us a "premium" car and the AC was broken. We were going to Las Vegas in August. They offered us to go to SIMI VALLEY but they only had SUV's so they were going to charge EXTRA! The other option was a downgraded model but offered NO DISCOUNT!! Gave me a number to call and after being transferred 5 times and one of the customer service agents was incredibly rude. They told me I could call back and try to get an adjustment when we return the car and they have all of our money. Unbelievably terrible customer service. I will never use Hertz again. read more

Excellent service! Needed a rental while my own car was in the body shop. They were booked, but Joey found me a car within the promised window, and sent someone to pick me up. Two weeks later - today - when I picked up my own car at the body shop, I was able to leave the car at that location for Hertz to pick up. They made my bad situation so much easier to navigate. I travel a lot for work around California. Typically I use my car for local travel but I had to drive to Hanford and back in one day. It just made sense to rent and drive the 400 miles. I went to my local Camarillo location and not only did I get a great car the day of, they were super friendly in the process. Keep up the good work Camarillo! I will be back. read more

Awful, awful customer service. I was not aware of the $200 deposit, and I had only bought cash and a debit card to have on file. My friend offered to pay for the deposit on her card. She brought in her license and her temp id card because her license was expired and she was waiting for the new one. She wasn't even the driver, but they have a policy that says driver must match the credit card, as I discovered online after the whole ordeal. Instead of explaining it to me or having any type of customer service, they sent me on my way. Both the employee working there and her manager that she grabbed were like psychopathic robots, with absolutely no emotion or apologies or even a solution on how to remedy the problem. This was after waiting 15 minutes to even be helped. I would not recommend renting a car here and I took my business to Enterprise and had a much better experience! Avoid Hertz at all costs! read more

I would give ZERO stars if I could. Te manager Joseph Pironti has no management skills whatsoever. I rented a car that had sap on the hood and pointed that out to the clerk (Joey). He said not a problem (not a problem giving me a dirty car???!!!). When I returned, a different clerk left a message on my phone asking me to return to the store to sign insurance papers for the damage to the hood!!!! She had me as guilty already without checking if there were any photos of the car when it was given to me. I went into the store later to talk to the manager Mr. Pironti and he said they had reviewed the pictures of the car when I originally got it and that they were not going to put a claim since the sap was there before I used the car. I went to take pictures of the car, since they had already washed it (Finally!!!) to show keep a record for myself that there was not damage to the car. Mr. Pironti, instead of apologizing for his clerk making me feel like a criminal, told me to leave or else he would call the police. I called the regional manager Stephen Howe; however, it seem that even upper management doesn't give a hoot about customer service. as Mr. Howe never returned my call. read more

Poor customer service! They deserve a -5. I called the office to check availability on a Saturday morning for a Monday rental and was told they didn't have any cars. I then checked on line for my dates and availability and Hertzs was at the top of this list of car rentals, so I booked the reservation thinking if it allows you to book online they will have the car available for you. Five mins later I get a call from the same Hertzs person I spoke to earlier asking me why did I book a reservation with them when I had been told there would not be available cars. My response was, why do you still make it available to book on line at your store if cars are not available. Most good customer service oriented businesses would not allow you to book a car that's not available. She showed no responsibility or ownership that this was their issue and not the customers. I told her to cancel my reservation and I immediately made reservations with Enterprise. Don't waist your time with Hertz in Camarillo. read more
