So we had originally planned to rent a car at the airport, but due to flight delays and rental car delays we were never able to pick up a car. This rental facility was close to our hotel so I grabbed an Uber and headed over here to pick up a car. When I arrived, there were two people Working with the two representatives there. The facility was not the cleanest or best kept. The lady behind the counter said that she would be with me as soon as she was done with another customer. The other gentleman did not greet me at all. I sat down and waited for 20 minutes and no one said anything else to me while they continued to work with the same two people. The lady behind the counter seemed to be working with the gentleman, but the guy behind the counter seemed to just be chatting . Notably he complained about all of their SUVs moving to Ford. After 20 minutes, I asked when I could expect to be served and he said when I'm done. He and the lady had both gone outside to get people cars, presumably. When they came back in five more people had come in behind me and then finally the gentleman behind the counter seemed to have a sense of urgency and actually want to help people. The lady who worked with me was very nice but overall it was just an unpleasant experience because the wait was extremely long, there was no sense of time or urgency, and the facility was not well kept. However, I gave them two stars because the lady who helped me was nice and because my experience returning the car at the airport was excellent. read more

I will never do business here again. On the day that I rented the car the first car they gave me was horrible it wasn't cleaned or vacuumed the strong smell was crazy. But when I got home the windows on the passenger side of the car. I returned the car the guy put me in a Kia carnival mini van. The day I was scheduled to return the vehicle, I went on the app and paid 127 dollars to rent it for 1 more day. I dropped it off that Friday afternoon shortly after 12 because I stopped and filled up the gas. The guy asked me if I wanted a print out or the invoice sent to my email. I opted for it to go to my email. The next morning I wake up and I was charged another day at 138 dollars for the day. I go up to hertz and I said to him you owe me 338.00 he hands me an in voice showing he charged me for 1 gallon of gas after I had already completely filled it up. He paid me back 327.00 instead of 338.00 charging me for the day that the car was already returned back to them instead of charging me what I already prepaid for online. And then charged me over 13.00 for 1 gallon of gas. This place is crooked. They should be ashamed of themselves. If you do go here get your receipt the minute you bring the car back. Take a picture of the gas tank and inside and outside of the car. Keep your receipts for the gas. read more

The manager charged me 250.00 for an interior clean out when there was nothing but regular dirt from travel on the floor. He then charged me 250.00 for putting a spare on the flat tire that was flat when I got the car . I wouldn't exorage anyone to rent anything from here because this was insane. She was initially helpful as my elderly mom needed a car while hers was in the shop. Bottom line we were in car with keys and waiting. I questioned wait repeatedly. She came out, refused to give me corporate manager's name holding us up and then demanded keys back. I refused stating this was too hard on my Mom. Called to speak to someone about charges when I mentioned it was about unauthorized charges I was put on hold and they never come back to the phone so I handled it with corporate. Here's screenshots of them trying to add a cleaning fee and damage fee which both claims were DENIED . Thankyou. Because if I drop my car off and hand the keys over to the rep and complete a walk around there's no reason for you to wait an hour to do a report and not notify me before leaving . I don't see how someone can return a supposedly crashed car and the representative act as if they didn't see it until you left but you guys did a walk around together ! If I could rate ZERO I would. My son flew back to MI from FL to visit me. He doesn't have a car right now so we decided to rent him a car for one day so he can get home from Detroit airport. His plane got in a little late. He went and picked up his bags. He took the shuttle over to the rental place and was told he was a no-show and late and couldn't get his rental. Now he's stuck at the airport with no ride home and no money. I rented the vehicle with my credit card and because he didn't have my credit card he could not rent. This is the first time that he's ever tried to rent a car and the experience was heinous. Not only that, I lost $125 for a rental I never got. I don't know who would ever rent from this company and I urge anyone reading this review to never rent from this company Hertz again. No matter what you book, they will push to sell you Tesla. On Tue this week, my booking was declined saying they only have Telsa, on the very same day my wife booked and she got a gas car. Also, can see variety of cars in their inventory. I had no issues at this Hertz location, the staff was nice and answered all my questions and made my car rental processes pretty quick and easy. They handled all the insurance and paperwork for me. The only issue I had was with the car I got, being so extremely basic packaged, compared to my full option spiffed up lease, it had no remote start, no heated seats, heat took about 20 minutes of driving to actually make the "heated air" warm (and it's very much winter here in Detroit), all chair movements were hand mechanical, not electric, and no safety features whatsoever. I would rate 0 if possible. I called before renting online. I asked what small SUV was in stock before I reserve for same day. I was told an Equinox. When I arrived, I was informed there were no cars available and that it wasn't possible that I was told Equinox. I was told there are disclaimers on the website and that a reservation is never guaranteed. I was going to wait for an incoming car from another location, but the arrival time kept getting extended. I left once I was pushed to change to a Tesla, as I had seen previous reviews on their hard push for Teslas. Something is off about this location. Worst place to rent. I have rented from here because its close - unfortunately many times. I have had to wait for over an hour each time and the worst was for 2.5 hours. Its like pulling teeth to give them business. Pulled my car out and the tank was less than full - was just glad to be out that i did not have the nerve to go back and let them know. Been receiving calls that the car has not been returned and legal action will be taken against me! When i have a valid rental contract??!!! Just ridiculous. If I could give zero stars I would have. Jamar Morgan was the manager associate. He was very rude and shady. I asked for a full-size Ford and was give a foreign car. I was quoted one rate and then told it would be significantly higher. He says a lot of things but refused to put them in writing. He gave me a horribly filthy car and then got an attitude when I said I would not accept the car. Rented a 2016 Ford Fusion with 34k miles for a trip down to Georgia. The customer service was so-so. They lacked enthusiasm and seemed like they didn't want to be there. However, the car came with GPS and Sirius radio which definitely made the long drive more entertaining. I paid a very cheap amount for a week long trip. I would only recommend going here if you have AAA or a similar type of discount. The lot is extremely small so they don't have a wide variety of vehicles. read more

I just had somewhat unpleasant experience. I reserved the grade C car, but it was changed to grade B car instantly without any notice. I understand that the car availability is so subjective. They just showing slight price difference. (Few Bucks, less than around $10.) When I just come in, the representative was somewhat indifferent. That was okay. The fee was changed unexpectedly, but it was fine. It might differ. However, after that I discovered that the grade was different from when I reserved. I called them. Although it was their fault that they do not notify me, the representatives seem to unpleasant, too. What they said is that "What do you want, sir?" They cannot give a partial refund because it is peak season. I just accepted them because I do not want to waste my time. I did not express directly, but I lose what to say. DO NOT rent from this location! I have not rented from Hertz in several years, and likely never will again, nor will I ever set foot on this specific Hertz location. I rented a vehicle as a replacement for my car that was in the shop. Although I understand I picked it up on a Saturday, there were literally only 3 cars to choose from, and not even in the best condition. There were several loopholes and differences in billing practices (than a normal leisure rental) that were NOT explained to me by an employee (somewhat rude) at this location, which resulted in my final charges being higher than expected, as my insurance was to cover a majority of the rental (but then I ended up paying more). When I spoke with the branch manager, it turned into "you should have know that, we do not explain everything to our customers" basically.
