I stopped by Motor City Harley-Davidson Sunday to look at a few bikes…read more Upon arrival I was greeted with a smile and checked in as a VIP customer. As a Harley-Davidson Motor Company employee the first thing that caught my eye was the beautiful showroom. The display of of new and used bikes as well as an amazing parts department and HUGE general merchandise area. I was introduced to my salesperson Sam, whom I recommend for your next purchase. She is not only beautiful, but on top of her game. She is very knowledgeable of both new and pre-owned inventory. I also had the pleasure of working with Brian, in finance. My first choice, a 2026 Sportster, was out of my reach at this time but he was able to work his magic and get me rolling on a pre-owned bike for just $103.00 a month. From there I was introduced to Andrea in general merchandise who hooked me up with a free T-shirt and Steve in parts who reminded me to purchase a battery tender to keep my baby charged. This is the part where I became overwhelmed & forgot the name of the fantastic service advisor who went over the service history of my purchase and when I should be back for my next scheduled maintenance. A special shout out to Sam, my salesperson and the tiny beautiful blonde receptionist for watching and entertaining my 6 year old granddaughter all afternoon to make this all happen for me. I am certainly not mad about driving an hour and a half for such stellar service & will certainly be back. Thanks again for making Sunday such a special day. Stacie

When I contacted Alexander Samul the owner of the company he claimed he was not making enough money on the deal and I now needed to send him the money via zelle, cash app, or PayPal friends and family so he could avoid paying taxes and "keep it off the books" as he put it. What kind of legit business asks a complete stranger they've never met in person to send them 2800 dollars thru cash app to pay for a bike they've not even seen in person yet? He couldn't even stick to the agreement we made a mere 3 hours prior and canceled the invoice he sent me without telling me. This Owner of Detroit Moped Works lied to me and did not keep his word. He then tried to justify his lies by saying things change and we didn't have any type of legal agreement to purchase the bike. Where I come from a man's word means everything and this guy is giving small business's everywhere a bad name by not honoring the agreement we made. He then cried the blues about how he could barely keep the lights on and just needed to make payroll which seemed like a very odd and unprofessional thing to do for a business owner. I contacted him to purchase a bike not be his therapist. There was nothing complicated or personal about this transaction. I was trying to purchase a Bike from Detroit Moped Works a retail shop that sells bikes, mopeds, and scooters, why would that be so complicated for them. They tried to change their story later when I called them out on what they were doing by saying it was a personal transaction when clearly it was not. In fact the bike I was going to purchase is for sale inside his store Detroit moped works so why would it be a personal transaction. They sent me an invoice to pay for the bike that was from the company Detroit Moped Works, again not something that would indicate a personal transaction. The words "off the books" were his words not mine as you can see from screenshot below. If your intention was not to operate "off the books" then why would you say that and use those exact words? Sure sounds like the owner is lying yet again. They continued to lie about what happened by saying the invoice was revised, the invoice was not revised because I asked for an extra day, in fact it wasn't revised at all. It was cancelled altogether because the owner became upset and thru a temper tantrum because he said he wasn't making enough money. Cancelling an official invoice from the business and asking someone to cash app or zelle you personally so you can avoid the taxes and credit card fees is not what I call revising the invoice. This business says they operate with professionalism so why does the owner not show that same professionalism. The bigger question is why is the owner of Detroit Moped Works selling bikes from his own shop personally off the books? That does not sound like a legit business operating on the up and up to me. The invoice I received from him was from the company Detroit Moped Works. That would indicate it's NOT some type of personal transaction. I'll attach a copy of the invoice received from Detroit Moped Works to purchase the bike. I want to be very clear. This did NOT happen because of any type of miscommunication. The owner of Detroit Moped Works straight up lied to me and backed out of the deal we made because he was greedy and decided he wanted to make more money from the transaction.

So this updated review dates back to 2021 when I bought my bike from here...... My experience with…read morethem has gotten progressively worse. The good - Terry was amazing during the purchase of my bike. He was attentive, answered all of my questions, and didn't try to push me into a sale. He followed up every step of the way and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. The only part that surprised me about buying the bike is that Dick Scott's wont throw any extras into a purchase. No jacket, no free first service, no gloves, no bartering. I got a freebie leftover T-shirt from their last "swap your swag", a couple of coozies, and a 25% off coupon for my first service that I had to negotiate for! For comparison, I'm considering trading my bike in for something bigger. My new dealer is willing to give me $2500 over bluebook and throw in a free $500 sissybar!! The bad - where to start? I've had an issue every time I've brought my bike in for service except for the last time. Refusing to honor IMC issued coupons, trying to charge me to diagnose a check engine light on a bike with 500 miles that they just did the break in service on, not reflashing my bike with the stage 1 tune after they had to reflash my ECU to clear the check engine light, and the list goes on and on. I decided to part ways with Freedom Powersports for my 5k service and went to a different dealership. The difference was night and day! The other dealership is very customer oriented - help yourself coffee, water/pop fridge, and snacks, the owner is constantly on the floor shooting the breeze with customers, and riders go there just to hang out! The icing on the cake is that during my 5k service the, new dealership found an issue with my forks. I asked them to check them out because they were clunking pretty bad and extremely harsh. Dick Scott's "fixed" that same issue last April per an Indian service bulletin. Come to find out, Dick Scott's installed the parts wrong and now my fork seals are leaking. The whole job needs to be redone and one of the fork tubes might need to be replaced due to the mess up. Luckily the service bulletin will still cover the parts and labor for the redo. My advice is to stay clear of here. I honestly wish I'd done more research before buying my bike from here. It really is a shame because they're relatively close to my house, but I'd rather ride twice as far for the better experience from my new dealership. Update: The last time I had my bike there in April, they did the kickstand recall and installed my stage 1 air intake. I now have a rattle coming from the intake - something obviously wasn't tightened correctly. On a side note, if you don't ask for your stock parts back, they keep them and list them on eBay. Interesting that they raised their labor price and profit again off of your old parts without compensating you for them.

This rental facility was close to our hotel so I grabbed an Uber and headed over here to pick up a car. When I arrived, there were two people Working with the two representatives there. The facility was not the cleanest or best kept. The lady behind the counter said that she would be with me as soon as she was done with another customer. The other gentleman did not greet me at all. I sat down and waited for 20 minutes and no one said anything else to me while they continued to work with the same two people. The lady behind the counter seemed to be working with the gentleman, but the guy behind the counter seemed to just be chatting . Notably he complained about all of their SUVs moving to Ford. After 20 minutes, I asked when I could expect to be served and he said when I'm done. He and the lady had both gone outside to get people cars, presumably. When they came back in five more people had come in behind me and then finally the gentleman behind the counter seemed to have a sense of urgency and actually want to help people. The lady who worked with me was very nice but overall it was just an unpleasant experience because the wait was extremely long, there was no sense of time or urgency, and the facility was not well kept. However, I gave them two stars because the lady who helped me was nice and because my experience returning the car at the airport was excellent.

But when I got home the windows on the passenger side of the car. I returned the car the guy put me in a Kia carnival mini van. The day I was scheduled to return the vehicle, I went on the app and paid 127 dollars to rent it for 1 more day. I dropped it off that Friday afternoon shortly after 12 because I stopped and filled up the gas. The guy asked me if I wanted a print out or the invoice sent to my email. I opted for it to go to my email. The next morning I wake up and I was charged another day at 138 dollars for the day. I go up to hertz and I said to him you owe me 338.00 he hands me an in voice showing he charged me for 1 gallon of gas after I had already completely filled it up. He paid me back 327.00 instead of 338.00 charging me for the day that the car was already returned back to them instead of charging me what I already prepaid for online. And then charged me over 13.00 for 1 gallon of gas. This place is crooked. They should be ashamed of themselves. If you do go here get your receipt the minute you bring the car back. Take a picture of the gas tank and inside and outside of the car. Keep your receipts for the gas.
