Since they changed management their customer service and personnel have greatly Improved. I had to rent from them over this past month while my personal vehicle was in the body shop being repaired. These girls went out of their way to provide me with a 2 week rental in a pick up truck for the same price I could have gotten a midsize vehicle. Customer service is clearly not a priority with this location. I had a car. Reserved almost 2 weeks in advance. I get a text the day before telling me they did not have a car for me. Would call if something comes available. I replied asking could they transfer me to another location. Crickets. I called. Number doesn't work! This is just horrible customer service. I have no idea how these people get away with doing business like this. I'm still concerned it could have been a scam. I made my reservation 2 days before and checked on it the day of the reservation. First they couldn't find my reservation. When they finally "found it" they said that, just to let me know today their deposit policy had been changed STARTING TODAY that their deposit policy had changed from $200 to $500 DOLLARS to use a debit card!! He should have informed me this was the case if he knew the policy WAS SET TO CHANGE THE DAY OF MY RENTAL. Not to mention that is a significant amount of money! An hour later they called back saying that the car they were waiting on didn't come in so they would have to reschedule me for the next day!!! This all happened 3 hours before I needed to leave. These people are horrible to deal with. The manager's attitude sucks and he can't even explain some of the questions I asked AND he doesn't really care at all. I called him 6/10 to tell him that my credit card has changed because it was hacked. It's funny that my credit card got hacked after Hertz issued a payment in the amount of $1171. Today, 6/11, I get a call from my "body shop" where my car is getting fixed to contact them because Hertz was trying to get a hold of me OR THEY ARE GOING TO REPO MY RENTAL. No one from Hertz called my cell phone TODAY, called and spoke to Danielle and told her that I contacted Josh, the manager yesterday. Also, them going to the body shop and taking about my rental car is totally unprofessional since this car is being paid by SELF PAY not THROUGH my Insurance. I have contacted my insurance company and will contact Hertz headquarters and file a complaint too. Not at all knowledgeable and not to mention they "strictly" prohibit smoking in their vehicles which is perfect as I'm a no smoker but to my surprise the vehicle given to me was wreaking of tobacco! I returned vehicle back to this location on Fri. 5/26 ~11am gave my key to the male agent working the desk as he was helping another customer and had 4 other waiting. He asked if I was picking up or returning. I replied returning and the suv is parked right in front of the window. He asked for the keys and said I would receive an email with my receipt. Well, it's been 2 days and no email nor returned deposit to my cc. Called helpline and the contract shows STILL OPENED and this location is closed today Sunday 5/28 and no way to leave a voicemail on the phone just automated recordings. I would say that they have very poor customer service, but that would be giving them to much credit. This location is terrible the vehicles are dirty and sticky on the inside. Most their vehicles should not even be in the rental pool until mechanical issues are addressed. They regular over charge and will tell you that it refunded to you after the cat is returned. You will never see a refund or get your deposit back and forget calling the main customer service number. Hertz car rental is very shady and they rip their customers off on regular basis! read more

This location is horrible! When I came to pick up my reserved car, they told me to come back so they could get the car from the body shop that opens up at 8. It was 7:50am at the time. Once I left, they called me back at 8:17am saying that the body shop is closed, so they won't be able to get the car. When I told them to call them, they just told me that they aren't sure if they will open today being that it's Christmas Eve. This is absolutely absurd!! How are you partnered with a company and not know their hours or have a way of contacting them?!! I ended up having to go to Avis to get my rental because Larry, who said he was the manager, said there was nothing he could do to help me or the others that will be calling in today for their car. I prepaid and was to be picked up from my hotel for a 9am reservation. That morning, I was told there was no one to come pick me up and they would call me when someone came in. (They could not give me a time) The office (Jersey Village) called and said they were coming and would be there in 15 mins. When they didn't arrive 30 to 40 mins later, I called and they said that they would check. 30 mins later, still no one. I called several times and the phone just rang and rang, then hung up. I eventually took an Uber to the closest office (34th St), which it turns out was not the right one. They transferred my reservation. Later that day, the tire light came on so I brought it back. They said the front driver tire was inflated to 48 psi (very dangerous!). This took about an hour. They told me the car was fine. I didn't drive on Tuesday. On Wednesday I was on the highway and the light came back on, so I pulled off and called. They said that "it's hot, so the tire light might come on." I don't think that is ever safe and asked to exchange the car. They said they didn't have a car and I should call locations nearby. All locations were out of cars until the afternoon. I was in the Houston museum district, so I spent my day down there and then called around again and found a location (Louisiana St) within a mile or two that had a car available. When I arrived, the computers were down, but the staff was very nice. I drove to my hotel and the car was bucking like a bronco! The shocks were completely useless. I had to stay below 45 MPH. The next morning (Thursday), I called the main Hertz number and negotiated another swap. I had to carefully drive the car to the Hobby airport (almost an hour from my hotel). The first car I was assigned was not in the space. The second one smelled awful (think baby formula left in the sun) and the oil service light was on. The third car was much better and I felt confident driving on the highway and was finally able to go to the Space Center (the whole purpose of the trip). Needless to say, spending all this time at Hertz put a serious cramp into my vacation plans. Returning the car to the airport instead of the local location near my hotel was a breeze. My final bill was about 10.00 more than I was originally expecting to pay; maybe because I didn't fill the first unsafe car with gas upon swapping it out. (I had gone about 25 miles total) I don't really know. The rate just was higher than my quoted rate. Anyway... I have never had an experience this complicated or frustrating when renting a car. I am really lucky this was a personal trip, rather than a business trip. read more

CUSTOMER BEWARE!!!!!!!!! We have tried to rent from this facility a few times because of convenience. Although it is conveniently located it is by far from convenient to rent from here. Customer service is extremely unprofessional unless you can deal with the manager directly, but the counter help is highly unprofessional, lack the basic knowledge of customer service and courtesy. When cars are reserved prior to pickup, they do not call to advise you there is none available when the app and website clearly say there are available vehicles. So there are wasted trips to and from this facility. Once told nothing is available upon arrival, staff is rude and provide no assistance on helping secure a vehicle from another location. If you are lucky enough to get a vehicle from here it's usually comes with some issues with it; not a full tank of gas, not washed, low tire pressure, service engine light on, etc. Highly recommend not wasting your time here. Hopefully the manager can get better staff and turn this facility around. read more

I highly recommend this location based on excellent customer service alone. I was having trouble getting someone to pick me up from the Fm 1960 location because I was 3 minutes farther than they normally drive to fetch a customer and refused to come get me. I called Jersey Village. After explaining the situation and how badly I was treated at the FM 1960 store, this nice man at the Jersey Village store hung up the phone and got to work. He called me back 10 minutes later and said he found a location closer to me on JFK Boulevard, and he had already called them for me. I was 10 miles from them (and also 2 minutes outside their normal driving range) but they came and got me anyway! The employees here go above and beyond to help their customers, even if you are not renting from them. I will be returning to this store. I really appreciate your help guys. Good work! read more
