I've been renting from this place for 3 months now. I have to go to Dallas twice a month. Book the rentals out months in advance. I have had 3 cancellations due to no car availability. The cars are always. I mean always dirty or lacking windshield wiper fluid. I won't even get on the wait. 8:30 reservation not leaving until 10 am with vehicle. They recently got a new manager. I've had very minimal interaction with him. I somehow had a refuel charge on a rental and I always put my own gas and he went it upon return and removed it. Perry always displays, professional, interpersonal skills, and dealing with customers. There have been very rude customers (totally understandable frustration) and he responded respectfully. What I would like to offer as I shouldn't have to wait an hour to two hours every time I come to get a rental. Try looking at all of your reservation the day before before you close and have cars cleaned and prepared especially for your early morning reservation. At 8:30 in the morning, I should not have to wait for you to clean a car or drive a dirty car because I am on a time schedule. There's usually only one person always working, so they can never provide pick up service which something hurts does and they did not offer to send an Uber to pick me up. So I had to spend an additional $15 just to get to the rental car place and then wait another hour before getting a rental. read more

I kinda get the bad reviews for this location but I'll still give em a 3 because some of my interactions have been better than others. First, I've rented from the airport many more times but that was on company dime. It's loads better and more convenient if you're flying in but also that convenience comes at a steep cost with all the extra taxes and fees when you rent from the airport. Also, the shuttle bus is annoying. At any rate; when I rent with my own ducats, I go to the local store closest to the crib to save the funds. Customer service is hit or miss. The car you get is hit or miss, whether you can get a pick up/drop off ride is hit or miss. You definitely can't get one on Saturdays. Their hours suck plus not open on Sundays. Always have to return the car on Saturday when my flight is early Monday or late Sunday, otherwise; the drop off fee to the airport is wild. I've had a little back and forth with CS once or twice but not lately. Also, rarely the car is filled up like at the airport so half the time, I'm returning the car with more gas than I was given. This is thee MOST unorganized, unprofessional rental location in Cypress TX. The entire staff needs to be replaced! They are not on time when it comes to opening the branch. They dont work well under pressure at all! They completely lied to me on a rental and charged me more than what I booked for. Don't ever rent from this place. We had an appointment at 10am and was told there were no cars left due to people haven't returned. They said they would give us a car when available but never did so we gave them a call and was placed on hold for 45mins and never picked back up. Avoid the Hertz locations which are not at an airport. Had 10:00 pickup reservation, no cars. After almost two hour wait they show up with a huge SUV which was not a problem except we were driving to Dallas and visiting friends along the way...poor fuel economy. Also told them I would take the no fill fuel option so long as the tank was full when we start...it was not but they charged me anyway, made sure it was on fumes when we returned. I was just being lazy and I forgot fuel in TX was only $3 per gallon...my bad. So 2 hour wait to pickup the car, not full tank, car dirty and to add insult to injury...had issues connecting CarPlay. Plus an added benefit the display was so dark you couldn't read it. Last two rentals from hertz were terrible. Will continue to work with them but only at airports. read more

This review is for Hertz in general. They gave us a car the was dirty, smelled like smoke, bad brakes and alignment, and dim headlights. The car would shake when braking, especially downhill on a mountain. I called several times on our journey to get a replacement but they only offered for us to stop and get it repaired. I see why this location is rated so low. The customer service experienced here is utter trash. I was given a vehicle that was dirty for starters, required maintenance per the dash alert, veered hard to the right and shook is driven anything over 70. I called and spoke to Darren, made him aware of my concerns and told him I would be bringing the vehicle back to exchange. They put me in a smaller vehicle than fits for my family. I have two toddler seats and a large stroller. When asked if I could exchange for anything more appropriate to what I actually drive, Chardonnay refused, stated this would fit me and my family fine and if I wanted to exchange for anything else, I would need to call around and ask.. when asked if she could give a list of what locations were closest to me, she told me I could google. NEVER RENT FROM THIS LOCATION! I rented a car to drive to my hometown for Thanksgiving. First of all, the car was FLITHY and the windshield had been struck my a pebble and you could tell that it was not repaired to prevent the spreading of the crack. On the way to Chicago, I get a notification that the windshield washer fluid is low. Annoyed, but no biggie. I'm driving back to Cypress and I get a notification light on the dash saying engine oil low. I'm approximately 14 hours away from my destination. So I check the percentage, it says 5%. Yes, 5%. Why wouldn't they check this before they rented the car? I went to the nearest Auto Zone en route to try to add oil. I checked the oil stick and it was crud in the oil stick once I wiped it and dipped it back in the tube, literally no oil. The people at Autozone told me that adding oil would not work, I would need to get an oil change. Getting an oil change on a vehicle that does not belong to me shouldn't be my responsibility. The closest Jiffy Lube, 5 Min Oil Change, and Walmart Auto Center were all closed. Now I'm forced to attempt to drive 14 hours back to Cypress. I will be in contact with corporate because this is unacceptable and very unprofessional. It's not like I was a walk-in wanting a car on the spot. I made the reservation well over a month in advance. Looking at the other poor reviews, I'm surprised this location isn't under some type of investigation. But like I said before, corporate will be hearing from me. I'm pretty sure the positive reviews on this location is fake because it is far from the truth. Update: oil went to 0% called emergency roadside assistance. They gave me 2 options 1) get a tow but it's nothing they can do until the morning and we would have to go to the closest airport to exchange cars. The issue with that is that the closest airport was 2 hours away, we already passed it up and it location was closed. The second option is to get a hotel near by. We decided to get a hotel. Then in the morning I took a car THAT DOES NOT EVEN BELONG TO ME to get an oil change because the incompetent employees do not check their cars. Now I'm 8 hours behind my original arrival time and I'm out of hundreds of dollars. How is this is corporate location and they are this negligent? Oh, and on top of everything the person I talked to at the emergency roadside told me that since this is a corporate location, and Arkansas does not have any corporate locations, that if I got a new car, they would have to cancel my existing reservation and they will have to charge my card for the new car AND the extra $200 deposit. This location is so unorganized and apparently seen to be low in staff. I made reservation for a vehicle and I assume upon arrival that it will be ready. But apparently that doesn't mean anything with hertz. The vehicle wasn't ready and then the communication wasn't clear with the deposit and all above. So I had to go home and come back and when I arrived they gave the vehicle that they had for me away to another customer. So once i got a vehicle finally, the car seem to not be clean.So we traveled out of state in this vehicle and then had to air tires and also after that the brakes was grinding. How in the world you will give me a vehicle with brakes grinding so that tells me they don't inspect their vehicles before a customer drives it off. We immediately called and went to a hertz out of state and they took care of us with no problems. When we drove back to our destination I still had to wait to return vehicle. I assume I will get compensated for what we went through with the vehicle they previous gave us which was crazy for it to be a 2023 suv having brakes issues. I rented a car ( SUV/Mini-Van to be exact) online 2 months before I need it to take my daughter up to college. 10 minutes before i walked out the door to go pick up the minivan I was told they don't have one for me. I asked them for an SUV they stated they had nothing left but a rogue (same car I own) . I told them what good does that do me I can drive my own car and not have to pay $500 to do it! What I experienced at this Hertz location, I have NEVER experienced before and I have been renting cars for over 20 years. I needed a rental because of a car accident. The other driver's insurance was paying for the rental so the rental charge to me should have been very minimal. I was asked about the loss damage waver and even provided the agent with my insurance information, but was never told that it would be $31.99/day. There is no way I would have OK'd this. They gave me the rental agreement (which is just about the size of an airline ticket with a bunch of wording on it) that was not clearly marked with loss damage waver. Instead it says LDW so I had no clue what this was, thinking it was the daily rate for the other driver's insurance company was paying. When I dropped the car off 3 weeks later I was charged $700 for it! I called the 1-800 customer service and they initially credited my card $500 but then reversed that too! I was just on the phone with customer service and they explained why they took the credit back stating that I shouldn't have been credited in the first place and they can't go back and correct the charge because of a policy which is total bull because they did it before. The supervisor even stated I should go back to the place I rented it so they can own up to their mistake but this was over a month ago during a Pandemic!!! Are you serious??? I have never experiences such poor customer service at the location and on the phone in my life. Needless to say I will NEVER EVER rent a car from this location or any HERTZ location if I can help it and I advise everyone to stay away from HERTZ if all possible. read more

Definitely don't waste your time with this location. It's a joke. My Mom reserved a car for us to drive to Arkansas for the weekend. Whenever we went to pick the vehicle up, we were told that our reserved car was not available anymore and that we would have to downgrade. Fine. We just need to get on the road. The Hyundai Elantra hatchback that was given to us was SO DIRTY inside and out. They didn't even have the audacity to clean it up a little bit. The exterior of the vehicle was covered in bird shit. The interior of the vehicle had an odor as if there had been a dead body in the trunk. I mean literally it made us gag. We had to clean the inside of the car with our own money AND buy air fresheners (that didn't even help). We suffered through it and whenever we returned the car to Hertz, we told the two guys that were working inside how bad the odor was in the car and how unpleasant the entire situation was. They didn't even apologize. They just said "We will have the car detailed." No sympathy and no customer service whatsoever. I live and breathe customer service and this is not how you get a returning customer. We did complete the survey that was emailed back to us and we have yet to hear back from any management. I would have driven one of our own vehicles if I knew that it was going to be like this, but we're all trying to save mileage on our own vehicles. I wanted to make sure to post this because most reviews I have read for this location are quite negative. I did not have that experience. From arranging a Lyft ride to get to the location to the check out process, everything was smooth, simple, and the lady helping me was very respectful. I am doing a one way drive and have read that others have been given really bad cars for that situation. Again, that is not what I experienced. I was given a very nice car that has everything I need. I am very pleased with my experience. I am new to renting cars and still a little naive. I will recommend for those that are unaware, if you book through a third party site like orbitz or travelocity, the insurance you pay for is through a third party company and not Hertz. The lady that helped me at Hertz explained the difference and was very respectful when I told her I was declining Hertz's added protection and keeping what I already paid for. Deplorable customer service! THE worst customer service ever! I only rented a car from them because another insured driver damaged my car & his insurance company paid for the rental. They were SO disorganized & did not care about taking care of the customer. The worst of it all was that I was billed about a week after I returned the car. However Stephaine, the girl behind the counter, NEVER took ownership of her billing error. I eventually had to dispute the charge through my bank over a month later, because the credit never was issued as promised. This was also after having the manager from the Woodlands location get involved to try and resolve my issue. She too dropped the ball with following up and had limited customer service skills as well. The ONLY decent employee at the Cypress location is the older gentleman, Jim, who cleans the cars.
