The people at Hertz in Everett WA were the kind of helpful, down to earth people you would invite home for dinner.

I am writing this on behalf of my mother in law. She has been a long time customer here and never…read morequestioned the service. She recently brought her car in for an oil change and they brought up a few other items that she should take care of, one of them being her brakes. The CSR gave her a form that listed she needed pads, rotors, and calipers to the tune of +/- $1,800. Thankfully my son was with his grandma and the suggestion of calipers struck him as odd. I am a mechanic so they had me take a look at the information provided. The Burlington Automotives mechanic that did the inspection on her car did call out her brake pads(and a few other small service items), but did not call out rotors or calipers. I did a brake job on her car and, indeed, it only needed pads with the rotors being perfectly smooth and within spec. The calipers were also in great shape with the dust seals still attached, no cracks or anything like that. We went to talk with Louis, the Store Manager, and he first said that pads and rotors are often changed together and thought it was weird the mechanic didn't call out the rotors. I stated it was because the rotors are fine. I asked about calipers and he went into a story about them potentially seizing if there is wear, again, not called out by the mechanic and the dust seals are in great shape. He then said that the CSR was "new" which is a cop out. If the person is "new", they should have oversight and that still doesn't explain how the mechanic got it right and the CSR got it wrong. When I asked what thier policy is for the hand off of information, he said the CSR should take exactly what the mechanic says BUT rotors and pads go together because It can cause uneven wear, we also dont turn rotors, we just go new. It is a real shame because this sort of things gives all mechanics a bad name. To be clear, the actual mechanic's report was on point and I think he was a fine mechanic. The CSR and Store Manager, though, should be ashamed of themselves At the end of the day, they tried to screw an old lady out of a bunch of money. Louis barely apologized, trying to make every excuse he could to get out of admitting they wronged her. They didn't have her best interest in mind.... do they have yours?

When I called to book I mentioned 4 people and the woman said we'd need _____ as a vehicle. I don't know what their vehicles are so I don't know what that means. We've always had the same car pick us up, even when there were 4 of us. We've never needed any particular type of taxi vehicle as we've ridden in both conventional taxis or minivan taxis. A towncar would have been fine as well, as we've done that as a family. They showed up on time (as always) in a giant SUV. As someone with a bum knee and auto immune issues which can make me really stiff, it was actually difficult to climb in and out of. We got to the airport in a matter of minutes as it was a 2.6 mile trip. I almost choked when he quoted me $60. We usually paid about $20-$23 and that was when we lived across town (8 miles) from the airport. The driver indicated that's their minimum charge now. I don't know if we were being hustled or what, but I would never intend to again pay $60 + tip for a 5 minute ride. I don't know if that charge was higher because of the SUV or what. Would not use again at those rates and would suggest if you are booking you confirm the rate. Evergreen had always been about the same as every other service so it didn't cross my mind to confirm a price, especially with us being so close to the airport.

Unfortunately they were able to get some contact info on her and they became relentless about getting her into a car. First they wants to put her into the first car, which she wasn't even slightly interesting in so she just didn't return the message and then they called over and over trying to get her into another car that she wasn't interested in. Finally we talked about trading in the mini Cooper we had to see if that would help her get something she wanted. After trying to push her into a few other cars she was finally going to settle on something but after being there all day she wants to think about it and come back the next day. They weren't having that. It didn't matter that she wanted to do and on top of that she had our 3 year old with her who was more than ready to come home. By the time I had gotten there the deal was done and she was going to need another hour to sign papers and whatnot. They finally sent her on her way and told her that she needed to show them some bank statements and whatnot for her proof of income. She gave them what they asked for and then after having the car for a couple of weeks they now required her to get a cosigner or demanded for her to return their car and they had the mini cooper ready to go. At the time we were already out of town and on a small vacation. They hounded us the entire time and then told us they were calling a repo company and that we would be paying for it. I told them that's fine, just leave us alone on our last day. We ended up taking the car back and I forgot to say that we had a ceramic tint job done throughout the car which cost over 400 dollars. We took the car back in far better shape than when we got it and they said we had to eat the costs of what we put into it and the biggest slap in the face was how they returned our mini Cooper with so much damage on it it makes me sick. I will be taking them to court for sure but whatever you do, don't let them get your contact info. Typical used car lot and slimy two faced employees working there as well.

PLEASE READ BEFORE PURCHASING A USED VEHICLE HERE…read more We traveled 3+ HRS to purchase a 2017 Toyota Tacoma after seeing positive reviews and a nice inventory selection. To be fair, Tommy and Tonya were both professional, responsive, and helpful throughout the process. Paperwork was smooth, everything was explained clearly, and there was no pressure to buy unnecessary add-ons or inflated packages. Unfortunately, what happened after the sale is the reason for this review. During the test drive, a few concerns were noticed: brakes not sounding or appearing right, one aftermarket light not working, and a few cosmetic issues. None were dealbreakers. We understood we were buying a used vehicle, not expecting perfection. However, when we asked normal buyer questions, the owner became dismissive. The moment we questioned the oil and asked for clarification, he abruptly began closing the hood, repeatedly said, "If you don't want it, that's fine," claimed there were plenty of other inquiries, and walked back inside. We had just driven 3+ HRS and were simply asking standard questions before spending nearly $30,000. Shortly after, he returned acting as if nothing happened. Despite that, we still moved forward. The night after purchase, we noticed a slight metallic clicking noise while driving. We assumed it might be normal brake wear or a minor used-car issue. The following day, while my husband was returning home from work, the noise became severe. The steering wheel was shaking badly, the truck was vibrating heavily, and it no longer felt safe to drive. He had to pull over immediately. When inspecting the wheel, three lug nuts on the front wheel were nearly off. This could have caused a catastrophic accident or serious injury. We paid out of pocket for roadside assistance. The third-party invoice states: - Left front wheel had come loose - Wheel removed and inspected - Other wheels torqued - Several lug nuts on other wheels moved during tightening - Bolt-on spacers present and recommended for removal as unsafe This means the issue was not limited to one wheel. During that same service, additional concerns were raised that the front brakes appeared improperly installed. We contacted the dealership immediately and requested a reasonable resolution or reimbursement for costs caused by this situation. Instead, the repeated response focused on returning the truck or transporting it back to their location. That missed the point entirely. This was never about not liking the truck. It was about being sold a vehicle with immediate safety-related issues involving wheels and brakes. We were not comfortable sending the truck back 3+ HRS after already experiencing these problems. We chose to handle inspections locally with people we trust. What is most upsetting is that the seriousness of the issue never seemed fully acknowledged. Used vehicles may have cosmetic flaws or normal wear. That is understandable. But wheels nearly coming loose, unsafe spacer concerns, and possible brake installation issues immediately after purchase go far beyond normal used-car expectations. We are now spending additional money, time, and stress correcting issues that should have been caught before sale. This review is not directed at Tommy or Tonya, who were both professional and helpful. This review is about accountability and safety. If you buy a used vehicle here, especially one with aftermarket modifications, bring an independent mechanic or trusted third party to inspect it first. We were fortunate this was caught in time. Another buyer may not be as lucky.

He was patient and let me do my thing looking the car over. All he did was answer any questions I had. The test drive was super easy, they just took my ID and got my phone number, handed me a dealer plate and keys and let me go. The whole experience was easy and low pressure. Doyle, the owner, is super nice and was extremely helpful and, in the end, we were able to make a deal on the car I wanted. In fact, everyone I dealt with was super nice, constantly offering me refreshments. They were even kind enough to change the oil on the car I bought before I left because they hadn't had a chance to do it since they had just got the car. That's integrity! They also gave me a cool dealer hoodie and a full tank of gas. The whole lot had many nice, quality used cars. If you're in the market, I definitely recommend them. Thanks Doyle, Riley, and the rest of the team, I really appreciate everything.
