Horrible customer service came in 5 mins before close time door was already locked. Told me if I leave me vehicle there it would by towed.

Travis gave terrible service, my car was dirty, then he insisted I could not bring my TADSAW donated and trained service dog into the rented vehicle. He even went as far as to write it on the rental agreement as if I was going to listen to that crap. Come on Travis, do some studying... I was actually embarrassed for Hertz by his total lack of ADA knowledge and his non-existent customer service as a whole. Long story short, I took the car, put my dog in the the car anyway, and told him to challenge me. I then left my accreditation paperwork and an ADA law refresher, and asked nicely for the manager to call me. But, you guessed it-he's also a scared little boy who can't pick up a phone. Listen princess, I'm a combat veteran who has seen more in a combat zone outhouse than you have your whole life. I rented the car rental on 6/25/24 under my insurance. I had to pay the deposit in which the director of the location, Rick, had me pay the $50 in which was suppose to include the tolls pass as well. Rick befriended me, we texted the entire time i had the rental. He never provided me with my rental agreement either. But when all this hit the fan he tried to disregard anything i had to say! Throughout the month of having the rental Rick's assistant, Datiana Williams, charged my card an extra $110 and $80 after i spoke with her and let her know i was under car insurance they should be handling the situation. Before i could call my insurance she charged my credit card anyway. I did not authorize the charge and my credit card company flagged my account and closed my credit card due to the charges. I tried to rectify with Hertz and was given the run around. The charges were pending for a month after i returned the rental on 7/22/24. On 8/12/24 i was sent an invoice with charges for tolls for $49 and a convenience fee $59. I reached out to Hertz toll company who transferred me to billing , who then transferred me to the manager, Rick, at the hertz location. I once again explained the situation to him he then hung up in my face. I drove to the Hertz location to get the situation rectified and Rick had me removed from the store for trespassing after asking for his bosses number and or Corporate because he claimed there was nothing he could do although billing and the tolls company said he was the only person who could help with the rental agreement. He denied me access to corporate and his bosses contact information. I am black and given Rick having the cops remove me for a mistake they made could have caused me my life or anything! Customer service refresher is needed. Was not greeted on entry by representative . I actually called before I drove 40 minutes to inquire about available vehicle. Representative stated yes they had vehicles available. I arrived was informed vehicle available but going out for oil change which would take 2 hours. Representative proceed to ask female representative did she speak to someone in reference of vehicle, she stated no , so in that case she was the only female in office, so who n the hell did I speak with a ghost or a spirit. They proceed to talk among them selves and simply ignore me , and even left the counter and headed to the back of the office. If I could do zero stars I would. If you have the option to prepay...then do it. Apparently that is the only way to make sure the car you reserved is there when you go to pick it up. I reserved a cargo van 3 weeks ago to be able to move my son back into his dorm in Colorado. I called two days before and one day before to make sure they would have a cargo van available for me. They assured me they would set it aside. I go to pick it up at my reserved time and they do not have one. They rented them all out. Mind you I called 16 hours prior to picking it up and they said it would be there. Absolutely no compassion from the employee that I need to leave in the vehicle tomorrow for 12 days. Who does that? I would give them a negative zero stars if I could! This last experience was the worst rental car experience ever. The quality of their cars is sub par and they don't seem to care. They knowingly rented my elderly mother a car that was infiltrated with a "weed smell", that they identified as a cigarette smell at the time of the rental. However, the back key tag (that we didn't notice until she got the car home) indicated its was a "weed smell". The experience made her sick with dizziness and an ongoing headaches for a week. And it sadly took them two days to get a replacement car and they were still unapologetic for the mishap. There was no true compensation given to her for these inconveniences and contacting corporate was a joke! The "branch mgr"... "Joe" was as uncaring and unprofessional as his tight little pants! Horrible customer service at this location. I scheduled an online reservation for a day and was told I can drop of my keys after hours. I came in to pick up my car and there were two guys upfront with a radio turned on loud. They didn't even tried to turn the volume down when speaking to me. I was the only one there and it took 30 minutes to get my car. on top of that I wasn't given the car type I reserved. I came back that night and dropped off the keys in their return box. Next morning they charged me for a day and half and when I called they said well that's when we opened the box to get the keys. So they charged me for their laziness and tardiness. I've had it and called the 800 Hertz number to fix my bill, but I shouldn't have to do that and waste my time. please hire more competent employees who know what they are doing and not just sit down all day listening to music. read more

Deceptive .... called to find out if they had vehicles and i informed him that i did not have a reservation. I was told yes they had vehicles ... suvs going at 63.00 dollars a day. However, after getting a ride to the Hertz , Im told the cars are getting an oil change and i have a vehicle going for 100.00 dollars a day. This is a bait and switch place. Very unprofessional! I booked and paid in advance for my car only to get there and be told I needed to pay another $200 deposit before I can get a car. No where was this on their website. I should have had no issues as a prepaying customer. Both associates had no clue what they were doing and the manager basically tried to pass the problem off to the younger associate. I ended up with no car and when I canceled because of their mistake they wanted to charge me $100. I will never give them by business. Worst service ever. read more

The guys at this location did a nice job picking me up from a service repair site while my truck was being fixed. The transaction was done well and even the Manager noted I was suppose to have a truck rate for my truck while in the shop with State Farm covering. He got that handled and pick up was just fine. They need to tidy up the front counters of so much paper, pamphlets and wipe them down from all the dirt. The trash cans at the customer area were overflowing too, but that's about the only negative I had with this location. read more

Was VERY DISAPOINTED Monday morning. Had made a reservation at the LEAGUE CITY OFFICE, AND JOE was my agent. Went to the League city office to pick up my full size at 7;30am and found out that Joe had made the arrangements at the Pearland office. 45 minutes away. Don't do business with!!! Unprofessional from top to bottom. I had a reservation with confirmation, 24 hrs ahead of pick up time. I take a uber to pick up my car, the CSR " 2 males" 1 is on the computer and the 2nd one tells me that " they will not give me my car because I don't have a certain insurance" WTF. I had a d%}^ confirmation and everything!!! He then tells me this came from the top down !!! BS !!! Then I asked, why wouldn't anybody call and let me know this bs! Bullllll .. Compared to a bunch of other rental locations for hertz, this place is really lacking in customer service. Would not recommend anything more than a simple pick up and return. Scheduling a pick up is hard, so is exchanging in case of a car issue and anything else. Gold membership is also of no use! Try the enterprise company in the area or go to another hertz location. read more

This visit was a horrible experience. I reserved a full size car about 5 days in advanced to take my family to San Antonio for Christmas. When I arrived at hertz to pick up my reservation, the clerk informed me that they were out of full size cars. She then told us that we could pick any other car or SUV that they had, and the rate would be matched with that of our reservation. This seemed like a reasonable solution! She proceeded to walk us outside for us to pick a car, but the manager, Jack, interrupted and told us that we could not get an SUV unless we upgraded. He told us that he would give us a compact car at a discounted rate. I told him that we needed a full size or bigger to haul my family and presents down to San Antonio, and he reiterated that I could upgrade for $40/day extra. I asked "Why can't you upgrade us at no cost?". Jack replied, "Ain't gonna happen." I asked why, and he replied "We would take a hit on that one. I got a bunch of people coming to rent the SUV's. I just cant give you one." I was offended on so many levels. He essentially told me that I had to pay for the mistake that the company made because he didn't want to "take a hit." So instead he wanted, me, the paying customer, to take the hit. He then offered to call other locations to find a full size car, but we were on a tight schedule and could not wait or drive across town to those locations. Regardless, his attempt was unsuccessful and I was forced to pay for the upgrade. He then told me he would discount the rate, but it still came out to about $60 more that I was expecting to pay. It seemed like all he cared about was getting the upgrade to improve his location's numbers. When I returned the car, Jack was there again. I tried to explain to him again that I should not have to pay extra for a mistake that his location made. However, he continued to interrupt me while I was speaking and refused to hear anything I was saying. He made a mistake, and the problem was not rectified. Jack was arrogant, unprofessional, and condescending towards me. Instead of doing the right thing, he did what he felt was right for his own personal benefit. Hertz will not be receiving my business any longer. I'd rather pay more for better service at Enterprise. read more

If I could give ZERO stars that is what I give this Hertz location. I had an unpleasant experience with this location last year but I decided to give them another chance because this Hertz location is closest to my parents house. Yet again, this location has FAILED to provided the customer service that one expects from Hertz. I called to confirm my reservation this morning. First I was told that the reservation couldn't be found. Then I was told that not only did they not have any cars, my reservation was not "on their list" even though I have a confirmed reservation for this location. The gentleman was not able to tell me what time I could even get a car today. Then the gentleman went on to say that he would write my name down and call me when something becomes available. I have no confidence that I will get a car in a timely manner. I literally have to cancel my plans because I have no car. UNACCEPTABLE! This is the only Hertz location in 15 years that has failed to honor my reservation in a timely manner 2 years in a row. I will never use this location again. I will be calling corporate to register a complaint. You should consider using another Hertz location if you expect timely service. read more
