This was hands-down the worst customer service experience I have had in my entire life. Hertz should honestly be shut down for how this location treats people. The manager is absolutely horrible -- rude, disrespectful, impatient, dismissive, and completely unprofessional. There was not a single moment where I felt like a valued customer. Every question was met with attitude, and the level of hostility was unbelievable. The car itself was filthy, clearly not cleaned before I received it. There were stains, dust, and trash left inside. On top of that, the car had multiple issues malfunctioning, making me question how they are even allowed to rent vehicles in this condition. The fact that they would hand a customer a car like that says everything about how little they care. And when I left an item in the vehicle and tried to retrieve it, the staff and manager acted like I was an inconvenience and made the process way harder than it needed to be. No empathy, no effort, no respect. I will never rent from Hertz again and I strongly recommend that no one else does either. Save yourself the headache, the disrespect, and the unsafe cars. Went with my sister who suffers from some mental health issues - anxiety being one. She is attending a program at a local facility/hospital to get help; therefore, she could be there between 4-6 weeks. Due to her anxiety, she was asking a bunch of questions and wanted to sit in the car to make sure she was comfortable with it. Not only was Drew extremely rude and unprofessional (I caught him rolling his eyes at her more than once!!!); he would not lock in the weekly rate. This is for Hertz Corporate, not any particular site. I have had horrible experiences at too many all over the country at this point. The change in the Hertz website two years ago has made it useless. After they screwup your rental (wrong number of days charged, electric service charge for car returned at 85%), or even better; when your rental car (which was reserved an confirmed) simply is not there (three times in the past month), THEN you have to deal with "customer service". IF you can figure out what the person in country "x" is trying to say in English, that means that you have endured 20 minutes of the worst POS hold muzak that has ever, EVER, been used to annoy the crap out of someone patiently waiting to be hung up on AGAIN, while trying to get them to correct their constant mistakes. I rented a car from this Hertz location for the past 2 weeks while my car was in the shop. State Farm only allows people to use Hertz apparently but that was A-OK with me. They forgot to pick me up at the car shop so I ended up waiting about 20 minutes, but the guy was super friendly and made the whole process easy & quick. I liked the car they gave me but it reeked of cigarette smoke which was pretty icky. :( When I went to drop the car off, it was a really quick process again, and no issues with State Farm covering the entire bill. Malik and Jaelen are amazing. These two gentlemen went above and beyond on more than one occasion for me. Even though the two of them were juggling multiple phone calls, and customers at the same time. They were concerned about my comfort with the initial vehicle, but i insisted on taking it because I didn't want to inconvenience them because they were already working SO hard. They assured me I could always swap it out at anytime if I felt uncomfortable. Not only did they assist me when I decided to swap out the vehicle, but I witnessed them providing the same service/courtesy to other customers to ensure every single one of the customers present were treated with the same care and courtesy. I am so impressed by the way these gentlemen were so dedicated to every customer, the way they were able to prioritize the every customer's needs with what seemed like ease. From what I witnessed, they constantly had the operation of the establishment completely under control, all the while catering to every need and answer any questions or concerns each person had. They did not rush people, everyone was given their full attention. They even demonstrated authentic compassion and caring for the needs of the customers, as they know more often than not people don't go out of their way to rent cars for fun, but due to troubles or unfortunate circumstances. This was my first time having the pleasure of using Hertz, and I can honestly say that these gentlemen gave me full comfort, confidence, and trust with this company. While I hope I won't be in the position to have to utilize a rental service anytime soon, I would only want to do it here (685 W. Golf RD) with these gentlemen. Their cars are filthy. Filled with food, dirt, salt damage. Just disgusting. I rented one from them yesterday and it was so dirty so I brought it back the next day. After my car was done at the shop I go to return it get pulled over by the cops and told me it's non-essential since my state of Illinois is locked down. The cop said I get a warning next time it's a ticket. So I wait a few days then go to return my car today and they are charging me for the days I couldn't drop off! What in the world is going on in this place?! I came here because I was in a car accident, and the person who hit my car's insurance booked my rental car here. The people here are clueless. I came in to pick up my car, and the girl was not thorough at all. We went out to, what was supposed to be, my car and check it all out and signed the papers. She walked away and I realized the key didn't even work on the car. It was the wrong car. We had to fill out more paperwork for the right car, and finally I could leave. How hard is it to find a car?? When I came to drop off the car, she barely looked at it and wanted to charge me for having it an extra day. No one (the rental company, car insurance company, or the place fixing my car) told me I had to turn the car in the day they called me or else I would get charged. Um no, not paying. They seem disorganized and the people at the service desk are pretty clueless. read more

I was in a car accident December 3rd 2014 my rental was set up through my insurance. I've never been in an accident before so renting a car and everything was all new to me. Lauren at this location is so nice, knowledgeable and easy to talk to, I felt very comfortable renting a car here. The process was quick, easy and painless. Any question I had she answered with professionalism and accuracy. I had a great experience renting from here which is so wonderful because if you've ever been in an accident you know that everything that goes with it is a headache! I needed to take my company car into the Ziegler Dealership for Jeeps. So, my company reserved an SUV with Hertz for me. I called ahead to confirm my reservation and they said they only had compact cars. Ok, fine since it wasn't in their control. I asked if they could pick me up, and they said no because they only had 1 person working. I said ok I'll arrange for someone to drive me there. I asked him what time his office closes, and he said 6pm. I said ok I will try to make it there before 6pm. My guy and I broke some speed limits to try to get to the Ziegler and off we went to get to Hertz before 6pm. We got there at 5:45pm and the door was locked. I called their number again and no one answered. I knocked. Nothing. The lights were off and it looked like they had left. Why tell me they close at 6pm if they intended to leave before 5:45? I said I was going to get there before 6pm, and they still locked up the office before 5:45. The paperwork wasn't going to take that long. Would have taken 5 minutes since my company already gave them our corporate account. This is, of course, just an inconvenience. They are suppose to open at 7:30 in the morning, so I'll be there at 7:30am sharp and try to pick up a car to go to my office. To the gentleman at Hertz I spoke to at this location. I'm sorry if I offended you in anyway. But still, it wasn't cool to close up early if I offended you. I'm having my secretary get up early just to come and pick me up to take me to Hertz in the morning. I rely on either my company car or rental car to get around. It's a big inconvenience for me, especially since we tried so hard to get to Hertz 15 minutes before 6pm. read more

Worst Car Rental Experience! From the moment I walked in the door it was bad service. There was one girl at the desk. She was on the phone when we walked in but still asked our name to get our reservation started. During the entire time she just kept switching from multiple phone calls so I did not actually get a one on one without her being on the phone until I had to come back in and complain after I got my car. Which by the way all the calls were not related to car rental. I had reserved about a month and advance. We went out to the car she did not go with us, the car was a mess. The front license plate was bent almost in half. The inside smelled and was dirty. I went back and ask her if we can get another car, and she told me only if I paid 50 more dollars a day for a higher upgrade but otherwise she had nothing. She said that she had to fire her guy that cleaned cars and she actually did not even have a chance to look and see if the one we had was cleaned. How do you give someone a dirty car? Come to find out her name is Jasmine and she was the branch manager. I asked for her supervisors name which I called and left a message and received no phone call back. Her name was Nicole. Then when we took our luggage out of the truck it was soaked! Literally soaked! The whole truck was so wet and smelly! Customer service was awful!! Car was disgusting when we picked it up with french fries and gum in between the seat, greasy fingerprints everywhere, crumbs covering the seats and dirty windows. They did not have another car and noted our account promising a credit or voucher for future rental upon return. 10 phone calls later and a week of run around got us NOTHING for our experience and inconvenience. I rented hundreds of times from Hertz as their Gold Member and I just started using this location. I had and E-ZPass in my rental to get through tolls quickly and easily expense my business travel. During my last rental the E-Pass stopped working and I did not realize it until I was having difficulty going through tolls with gates. I called them and they told me it was not there problem and I am responsible for paying these tolls and tickets. I told them it is my expectation that they would help get these tolls paid so I do not get a toll violation ticket. They said it was a different company that supplies the E-ZPass serivice and it was my problem. I will never rent from them again. read more

A little lack of customer service - example: when you walk in both boys are on the phone busy sure I understand but neither of them acknowledge you when you come in .... During a walk around I noticed bunch of scratches and loose fender liners on the car plus under the bumper between bumper and shield there was a lot of grass looks like someone drove over something but they said its nothing so I took the car cause hertz insisted that they don't have any other cars now....ok 10min into driving this car shook and there was a noise from the wheel bearing. I look the back right away. What a waste of time not to mention that few days before I've made a reservation. I have a claim through State Farm and when reserving the woman said that everything is set and it'll be direct bill to the insurance company and when I came in guess what of course the reservation was not done correctly. Direst bill has not been completed through State Farm and I know this cause I called my agent and meanwhile he call claims department and found that out.
