I recently used Enterprise in Schaumburg for a car rental covered by insurance. My insurance company contacted their team directly on details before they reached out to me to confirm a vehicle reservation. They were flexible with pick up and return times and even offered to pick me up from the auto body shop if needed. When I arrived, they had minimal available guest parking spots but most people are without a vehicle when visiting. Derek helped me in getting a standard suv (Jeep Compass). My car was very clean, ran well, and was easy to temporarily connect to carplay. This location is very busy but Derek did his best to get me on my way. When returning the vehicle, it was fast and simple. Derek inspected my vehicle and sent me a confirmation email immediately. He was friendly and accommodating. My husband and I rented a car from Enterprise, and we had a great experience! My husband made an online reservation a month before the date we needed the car, and he picked his preferences all online and was also given a price we'd be paying when we went to the location. The location called us a couple of days before our reserved time as a reminder, as well! When we went to pick up the car, many cars in the parking lot looked nice. I told my husband that there were two specific beautiful ones I'd love to get. When we went inside, the man was friendly and helpful and led us outside to the car so that he could assure everything was ready with the car. It was the one I really liked: a 2023 Nissan Maxima! He checked the gas and mileage and then showed us the outside of the car. He then explained all the formalities and had my husband sign for the things we agreed on. Then, it was ours for a week! Pricewise, it truly wasn't bad at all! We didn't need any extras like insurance or iPass, so this was just for a sedan with unlimited miles. They charged us the same amount my husband was promised when he made the reservation, and they do charge your card $300 extra at the reservation so that if they need to charge you for anything extra when you return it (for damage or cleaning or whatever), then they already charged you part of it. Basically, it acted as a security deposit, but we got it returned to us when we returned the car the following week. We had no problems with the car on our trip to St. Louis. We had unlimited mileage, the car had modern technology, including GPS, and the ride itself was so smooth. Upon returning the car, the woman was nice and professional and asked if everything went well. She checked the car's appearance and checked the gas and mileage before we left. Overall, we had the best experience, and we got so lucky with the car we received. It was beautiful and now we want the car, haha! read more

Extremely disappointed with this location. I reserved a specific vehicle, and they waited until right before pickup to inform me it wasn't available. They pushed a van on me at a lower price, which I accepted only because I was stuck. I immediately had to scramble to find the larger SUV I actually needed from another company and returned their van the same day. Despite that, they still charged me for it. Completely unacceptable. This location does not honor reservations or handle issues professionally. I will not be returning and strongly advise others to avoid this branch. read more

When we rented the car from Enterprise in Schaumburg, IL December 12 - 29 after my car was hit, I wasn't given any way to pay the Illinois tolls and was told to just add the car to my tollway app which I did. They didn't deduct the tolls from my account - perhaps it was because the car I rented had Indiana plates - I really do not know why. When we dropped off the car the rep we spoke with said we would just have to pay for the tolls incurred which is $7.50. NEVER MENTIONING A $25.00 FEE. after receiving an invoice in the mail, I called their corporate office and spoke with a rep and she was waiving the citation fee. I received an email today that they are charging me the $25.00 fee. I will put in a dispute with my credit card company for this because this is not right! I only used Enterprise because my car was being repaired due to someone hitting my car. So Progressive is the company that directed me to use Enterprise. I drive an SUV and was put into a beat up Toyota Corolla that was the first issue. The second issue was about 4 days before the rental I had a low tire light come up so I went to Discount Tire to have it filled. They mentioned that the tire was bad. I knew I only had a few more days to return my car but my repair was delayed a few more days. 2 days before I returned my car I get a flat tire. I called Enterprise to let them know and they just said I need to use my roadside assistance. I didn't know I had to use my own I would have added roadside through Enterprise. 2 days after I return my car I get a call from a woman that said I am responsible for damage to a rim on one of the tires. She could not explain which tire after me asking multiple questions so I had to wait for another manager to call me. They claim that the rim is damaged on the inside part that is not visable on their pre/post rental inspections. They found out it was damaged when they brought it in to get a new tire. I had to rent a car due to my truck being in the body shop for repairs. My first impression was the staff is nice and friendly and service was very quick to get you in and out, which is what I like. I had a reservation set up for a couple days for a car through my insurance company and when I got there I was informed that there were no cars on the lot that would cover my $25 daily allowance, there's a $35 car a day that I have to pay the difference out of pocket? Okay..... Apparently my reservation doesn't matter. I take off with the car and quickly notice the windshield is hard to see through because it's so dirty from the inside. Then I look around more and the entire car is filthy on the inside not to mention it smells like VOMIT!! I called Enterprise after 35 minutes and told them what was going on and they said they would exchange my car and give me an upgrade. They also explained to me every car is cleaned and disinfected twice!?!? Yeah right... I went back the next day and they did upgrade my rental to a sports car convertible. I said loudly to the staff member I hope it's clean and he said yes it is! At first glance I was able to see through the windshield on this one, so I left. however by the time I got home about 3 minutes away I noticed crumbs and gunk around the shifter, there was a food wrapper shoved in the seat in the back and yes, once I put the convertible top back on the inside smelled like a mix of cigar and faint smell of vomit. Just so I didn't think I was being delusional I asked my partner and kid to smell the car at separate times and they both said it smells like the last car except this one smells like cigars too. .. I don't understand how this is clean? You'd think there wasn't a worldwide pandemic going on. In fact, I've NEVER rented a car that looked even remotely disgusting to these two AND we weren't even in a pandemic at the time. I decided after the first disgusting car not to write a Yelp review and post pictures as they apologized and tried to make up for the bad customer service. But I'm sorry... a second time ? I suggest you do not use this place. They are always extremely busy and can take up to 2 hours to check the rental out. I made a reservation with Hotwire with a Sunday return. Driving from Chicago to Kentucky. I went to pick up the vehicle after waiting and waiting. I get in the rental and smells like dog. I drive half way home and look back and back seat is filthy with dog hair and the seats look like this animal walked all over the back seat with muddy paws. I call. Bring it back. They tried to clean it but that smell is still there. Was not about to drive 5 hours like that. Got a new vehicle("upgraded for free") I leave. No issues with this car other than it smells like its a smokers car. But it's Doable. Lysol spray. When I picked up the car, I got no explanation of how to return it Sunday. I Bring back the car because it's not my first time renting or returning (first time at this place). Parked the car. I dropped the key in the drop box. Monday morning I get my charge for the car and it's for 3 days when I only had it for two. They marked it that I returned it that Monday morning and it didn't seem like they didn't car. That's when they got the keys so that's what you pay for. (Shouldn't be the case). What's the point of a key drop off? I've called 3 times to get it corrected. I've been told we will refund you and will take sometime to show up. It's been 3 weeks and nothing. I made sure the last time I called that I've been told that I will get credited but nothing. "Manager" said she will get it take care of. I won't be renting here again. When I get charged inappropriately due to the employees negligence to communicate how to return a vehicle. And when the company doesn't take action to get it corrected, makes my decision to not return easier. read more

this was our first experience renting a car - took a road trip to Colorado for our son's wedding and used this location to rent the car. The entire experience was wonderful! Tyler and Ryan both helped us out and were fantastic! Average consumer is supposed to afford that. $140 for 2 days with taxes and fees (more expensive than some places for leasing for a month). $9.99/day weekend promotions advertised but wasn't available upon request. 2 hour advance reservation for them to pick you up. I was only 1 mile away from pickup, and they said it would be a 2 hour wait. I'd of just walked there, but I have an injured ankle and can't walk. I declined and ended up borrowing a friend's car. 2 stars for speedy service but that comes with a price. Don't be fooled by the clean appearance on inside/outside of vehicle. Even though they hang the signs on rear view mirror to distinguish when they're clean, they're really not. My past 2 rentals through enterprise were a kia soul that had some kind of old cheese in the cup holder and on middle console that I had to address before I left with that car. Not to mention a syringe was found under my drivers seat as well. On my next rental, I received a hyundai accent that they had running for me ready to go with vents blowing so I couldn't sense the nasty mildew stench that was coming from the car until I turned it on the next day after it was sitting. They need to address interior cleaning a lot more than they do. I can tell all they care about is speed and getting people in cars to get as much business as they can. I recently rented a minivan from them for the weekend. Pick up time was setup for 6 pm and that's when they close their shop too. Talking to the associate at that location I asked if I can pick up the car earlier since I would need a shuttle service and they said yes. After I returned the car and got the final bill they charged me for 2 extra hours since I had picked the car earlier. They had never mentioned to me that since the car was picked up earlier that they would adjust and charge me for the additional two hours. Car was ready so I picked it up. If I had known I would get charged extra hours I would have not picked up early. Also, my car rental was $59.98 pr day and for two extra hours they charged me $40. I WILL AVOID THIS PLACE GO FORWARD. Then we were given a smaller size SUV that smelled like cigarettes and was missing windshield wipers with heavy damage to the car. He walked in the door and Louissa was the one to help him. She treated him like he was inconvenience from the moment he walked in the door. Changes were made to my flight and I had to drop the car at another location, I called and the customer service was very friendly. So, I called them up, they answered the phone fast, they answered several questions that I had. At this point, I knew Enterprise Rent-A-Car was the way to GO! I dealt with a very professional knowledgeable Branch Manager by the name of Clayton Denmon because of his professional appearance, knowledge and friendly customer service the whole process went smooth and quick! I rented a brand-new Infinity Q and loved it!! When I returned the car 14 days later they even offered to drive me to the body shop and pick up my car!! I returned my vehicle and did a walk around inspection with an enterprise employee at 11am. There was no damage and I was told they could email me a receipt. One week later I receive a letter stating there is an insurance claim against me for damage to that car. After calling in to the claims department, I find out the report and claim was filed at 10pm. The claim center also had notes stating that I was in a hurry so I did not stay to do an inspection when I returned of the car, and that it was dark out so I may not have noticed the damage. I was not in a hurry, and I have documentation that I dropped odd the car before noon so it was broad daylight. If they fix this issue, I will change my review but as of now I was told they would look into it and the claims center said they would mail me the result of an investigation in 2 to 3 weeks. They didn't even have a way for me to document my dispute of the claim of provide proof! The process is as simple as "do you dispute this claim? Ok we'll let you know if we do it or not in 2 - 3 weeks." I understand human error and basic mistakes, but not correcting them in a timely manner is unacceptable - especially when they want to go to your insurance for the claim as quickly as possible and DON'T PROVIDE PICTURES, DOCUMENTATION, OR ANY PROOF THERE WAS ANY DAMAGE IN THE FIRST PLACE. If I could give NO STARs To this branch I would. First they couldn't believe the rate I got and actually tried to find out WHY it was so low. THEN they needed a credit card. THEN they wanted to put 250 on my credit card so I gave them my debut card. THEN they needed a utility bill to confirm my living address. Then they said the drivers license didn't match the utility bill and as such I couldn't use my debit card....not only was the service terrible because they made me go all the way to theback of the line once I printed out my bill...but ALL OF THIS COULD HAVE SAVED ME A L9T OF TIME AND Aggravation HAD IT BEEN EXPLAINED BEFORE!!! I love Enterprise. I have never had an issue with them and this branch is no exception. Yes, they're a little busy but I'm not the only person on the planet so I'm okay with waiting. I've used them many times in the past for simple rentals. This time I needed it as a replacement due to our car being in an accident. They have been incredibly accommodating with the pricing and the timeline even though we have been uncertain about the return date. Diane (a manager I believe) was particularly wonderful. Much less of a hassle than other rental places with the deposits and insurance. Just be sure to ask the proper questions and be clear with what you're getting. It's not that hard, people! read more

Danny, was extremely helpful when I came in to rent a car for a last minute Memorial Day Weekend trip. The first car we got, none of us noticed the passenger tire, had something weird going on with the hub cap. I think we were all paying attention to the body of the vehicle. DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE. My car got totaled because of an accident not caused by myself. My insurance provider stated that they'd cover a rental car. I went to Enterprise on Roselle shortly thereafter. The clerk, in his exact words, asked, "Do you want to deny your insurance for this car?" I asked him for what. He said it was for damages and scratches if those were to happen. I'm a safe driver, so I denied it. When I returned the car, in the same condition as when I had first rented it, I got charged $247 for insurance I didn't even use. To make matters worse, the clerk was very rude.
