The vehicle class and fuel options seemed to be unknown to the agent so we spent another 8-10 minutes getting those details settled before I was on my way. Not too big of a deal. Disappointing to experience at midnight and nearly an hour-long wait in the shuttle line to get to rental cars from SEA. I am happy with the rental car though - clean, spacious. This is my nightmare, if you ever want to rent a car in Seattle, never Hertz. Book through Expedia got a confirmation, when I got there, they told me no car available, employees so not helpful or friendly, wasted 2hr travel, 100 on Uber , worst way to start a vacation. So I make the appointment for 4 pm on Thursday (9/9/21). I get in and find that getting to this location is going to be tougher then I thought. So I call their office and Jessica answers. I tell her that I'm running late. I take an Uber for $45.00 and get there by 4:45 pm. Guess what. They're gone. Lights out and locked door. I called 8 times and each time I get a recording that the office is closed. They're suppose to be there till 5:30!! I'm in the middle of no where now. I also called their national phone number but all I get is that I'm in the right area and they should be there. Nope. They're gone. Anyways I take another uber ride back to the airport for another $45.00 and get another car from Fox which costed twice as much since I didn't have a reservation. The next day I call and talk to Jessica again. I asked the obvious. Where were you? Her first response was that she has kids as if that's a perfectly reasonable excuse to give. Then she shifted and said it wasn't her that was there but another employee who was there till 5:30 pm. I then said I called 8 times while sitting out side the door since 4:45 PM. She said that's impossible since they even rented a car out to someone @ 5:10 pm. She also said she only saw one phone call from me @ 3:43 pm which was the first time I called her from the Airport. Had a relatively smooth and easy experience here! Some tips to make your car rental as smooth and easy as mine: 1) Do NOT rent through 3rd parties (ex: expedia), as you will not have a confirmed reservation and you will NOT have a car on site when you come. You must reserve directly through Hertz's website or by phone to Hertz at this location 2) Do NOT rent an electric car--their prices are low for a reason. You cannot guarantee to recharge your car as the public charging wires are all cut throughout the city (people like to cut the wires and collect the copper). 3) Rent from a different location if you're hoping to get a car quickly, as they have a limited number of cars since they're usually catered to a small clientele of billionaires who have their own planes/jets and as such they rent cars to said billionaires. The lady behind the counter (Inez) explained everything very well and patiently. We came unknowingly from renting through expedia an electric car, but ended up paying the extra to get a gas car which we didn't mind since they had laid out Hertz's terms clearly (which are very different from expedia's). However, the extra pay was not that much considering that we got a relatively nice car, and they were able to answer any and all questions with friendliness and ease. I was in the area for business. had a 5 day rental at 172.00 a day. i found that i needed to extend so i got on line using the app and they wanted to charge an additional 1442.77 to the bill. i thought this has to be a mistake so i called the 800 number. it wasn't a mistake, they went back and recalculated my entire rental to 321.00 a day. I own my business and travel a lot. i stop using hertz several years ago for this same type of practice. in talking with their support person, the attitude was, if you want to extend you'll accept the rate. very rude.. i will never use hertz again, very dishonest company. i don't blame the people at the rental counter, its the business itself. read more

If you are at this hertz... just Uber back to sea tac. I promise it will be worth the money. This was absolutely the worst rental experience I have had. Rental experiences never seem to be smooth, but I don't think this could have been worse. We reserved a Tesla, but when we arrived they did not have any available. They replaced it with a Kia... not at all comparable. Especially since the lodge we were staying at only had tesla charges. If this would have been the only issue I would not be writing a 1 star review. There were 2 garbage bags full of hot trash in the back of the "clean" car. Therefore the car smelled horrible. The car was only 50% charged. There was zero professionalism here. The "general manager" was rude to us and her employee. At one point she grabbed the phone out of his hand and told him to no longer answer calls. This was after she took a personal phone call for everyone to hear. I reserved an SUV 2 months in advance, and when i got there, the lady at the counter said they dont have any suv's available. From my experience with other companies is that they would do a free upgrade for not having the necessary car available. I reserved an SUV for a reason. After going back and forth, I realized it was going nowhere, I ended up taking the sedan, with my whole family squeezing in it the entire trip. On top of that, the vehicle was disgusting! It smelled like curry, there were crumbs everywhere, trash still in car, stains on the center console and steering wheel and then some. My wife and i ended up having to take an hour to clean it because it was so disgusting. I can go on and on with more, but i will just keep re-upsetting myself. This location is a complete disappointment, so again... I highly recommend going elsewhere. This review is a -5 star! Disgusting! This location needs to get shut down with how crappy it is. Such an unbelievable experience with JESSICA AND CELESTE. They are very rude, unhelpful, unprofessional. No costumer service at all!!! When asked to speak with a manger, they said they were the managers. They said the man outside was just the cleaning man. When he was the actual general manager- Mark. Celeste was picking up costumer phone calls, after hanging up, she was making fun of their accents. My card declined once (probably because I'm a broke b*** who sucks d*** for trips, says Celeste) Once I transferred $ over to my card, Celeste and Jessica warned us that if it declines again, they will have to cancel our reservation. Well, the card declined again. That's when we found the GM Mark aka the "cleaning man" He said we can try the card ONCE more. I called my bank to confirm it had sufficient funds and only to find out that Celeste tried to charge my card a ridiculous high amount and not for the amount we were told. Mark ended up taking care of us. After returning the car 3 days later, we had to deal with Jessica. Who was unfriendly the whole time. 1 hour after returning the car, I started to receive blocked calls, calling me an effing B**** and laughing and hanging up. Shortly after these calls, I received a text from a fake number: calling me ugly, said my son is ugly (wow! They really looked up my social media) and had my home address. I've been calling all morning and only reaching a busy dial tone, once I called with a blocked number, I was able to be connected. Unfortunately, Mark wasn't in today. These "women" are supposed to be the face of this hertz location. Hertz needs to get rid of them because costumers won't return to Hertz if we're gonna have start and end our vacation with these bitter unprofessional "women" These reviews are all TRUE. I have never met a ruder or less helpful person than the woman running this Hertz (she refused to share her name). We were less than forty five minutes later than our reservation coming from Sea-Tac and they gave away our car to "VIPs" without calling. This is our first time traveling with a six-month-old baby and we had hoped for any kind of other option but she told us, "You wouldn't be late to the pediatrician would you, so this is what you get for being late." We called the corporate customer service but they were also no help whatsoever. I normally have good experiences with Hertz but because of this person and this experience I will never rent from Hertz again. Had a quick and pleasant rental experience recently. When the shuttle dropped us off, we went to the front counter (no line) and said if we are President's Circle, to just proceed downstairs to get the car. We went downstairs, saw our name on the board, and went to the Gold counter (no line there either) because we needed a toddler seat. Otherwise we could have just gone straight to pick a car in the PC lot and drove off. The lady at the desk told us to pick whichever car we wanted from the PC lot, and then to come back and tell her the parking spot # so they could deliver the toddler seat to us. PC has a few Mustangs, Altimas and some smaller SUVs. We picked a car, installed the seat, and were ready to go. Returning the car was quick and easy as well. read more

Alright, here's the deal...this location is out in the middle of nowhere. We're in the middle of a global pandemic. The car rental situation and business is HURTING right now, prices are sky-rocketing, supplies are low, demand is high. Because of this, circumstances are causing people's attitudes and expectations to run pretty hot. I rented a cargo van (only because it was WAAAAYYY cheaper than any alternative) and when I got there, they didn't have it and it may take a couple hours to get one. So of course, I cursed, I threatened, I yelled, and I told all the employees how incompetent they were! No....no I did not do that. I stayed polite and understanding and treated those working behind the desk with respect and understanding. And jeez, you know what? We shared some laughs, told a couple stories, and I patiently waited as those women tried everything they could to find me a car. In the end, they did MORE than right by me. Tatianna, Jessica, and Celeste gave me EXCEPTIONAL customer service. I didn't go in demanding an upgrade, a certain type of vehicle, or for them to materialize a car out of thin air. When I visit Seattle from now on, this location will be my preferred rental location. Moral of the story....don't be a jerk, treat others with respect, and they'll likely do the same for you! read more

I wish I could give a zero star rating. Too bad I didn't read the reviews before reserving a car. This was my first trip to King County Airport. Got off the plane and went into the terminal to ask how I could get to myHertz rental because I had a reservation. The terminal attendant told me I could pick up my car right there. Showed him my reservation and he completed and printed out a contract for me. I signed it. What I didn't know is that he did not use my reservation but created another contract at almost 3x the price. Discovered the credit card charge after returning home and called Hertz. They were the opposite of help. Essentially told me the airport attendant wasn't their employee and since it had been more than 24 hours they wouldn't do anything. Except give me the phone number for Hertz billing. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told she was the supervisor of 5 branches so there was no one else to talk to. I received a parking ticket because this location rented me a car with expired tags. When I called to let them know, a woman named Tatiana was extremely rude to me and told me I should have told the people issuing the ticket it was a rental and that it was my fault to have been issued the ticket (yea, made no sense to me either). When she refused to help, I reached out to the general manager, Sergio Ortega-Bonaparte, expecting him to address the problem but instead he responded saying he would look into it and then ignored two- follow emails. This rental car location is a joke. First of all this location delivered my dad's rental vehicle to the wrong Service King. When the vehicle finally arrived it was too small and Hertz didn't even bother fixing it they told him to call the insurance himself which wasn't even his, it was the person that hit him. When he finally went to switch the vehicle out to a truck that he originally needed, the "manager" of this location gave him a DIRTY, filthy truck. The manager lied to my face that she called and left a voicemail telling us this that morning, only for several other people to arrive behind us with similar reservations and no knowledge of this, just like us. As we were trying to figure this out, all three employees left the location. Got in their cars and left, as groups of customers sat on the curb trying to find other cars. God this place was absolutely dreadful. First off, I had arranged for a car for me to pick up at 8:30 due to plans I had made for that day. My triple A agent also told me that this Hertz store would have an Uber pick me up shortly after 8am. I call up the shop at 8:05am, nothing. I continuously call and no one answers. Finally, at around 8:30, a girl answers and tells me there are no Uber's available until after 11:30. Obviously I declined and said I'll just pay for my own Uber, whatever, BUT they can reimburse me for up to $15. Okay, cool, I like this. Upon arriving to hertz about 20 minutes after that phone call, the door is locked and no one is there. It's about 40 degrees outside, I wait about 5 minutes before I called. The girl working there tells me she's at a hangar for the airport next door and that she'll be there in 2 minutes. It was literally 10 minutes later when she arrived. I'm freezing. She enters my data, runs my card, and notifies me about how I don't have insurance and when I asked her if the insurance I bought with triple a pops up on her computer she answers so rude back "no, so whatever happens to the car is just something you'll have to pay back to Hertz". I've never experienced such terrible customer service. The car was nice, I got a 2017 Nissan Altima. I'd like to use Hertz for future endeavors however I truly hope the girl at this Seattle location is the only bad seed on the bunch. read more

Was my fault for not completely reading but the staff member I worked with was very shady in the way she went about things. Asked if I wanted insurance and didn't say the cost was for every single day... that added up quick. Adding a passenger was $94 which was also not mentioned. So had to pay for all that on top of the cost per day... called to ask about it and all they could say was you signed a contract and sorry the lady mislead you. Not our problem... won't go with them again that's for sure.... just make sure you look at what you sign! Lesson learned. read more

hertz as a whole has made it very easy to say how terrible they really are. first off I booked online. no problem. I arrived to them not having a car ready. I went through the motion to complete the rental. I even bought the tank of fuel... don't do it. I finally am told I am ready to go after waiting 30 min for them to vacuum out the car and send me on my way with an empty tank. That was the easy part of this experience. Returning the vehicle was a big issue when I arrived at my scheduled drop off time to find doors locked to the office rental cars unlocked and supplies spread all over there parking area. Waited 40 min and got transferred 4 times on the phone with there corporate office to be told all my options to return the vehicle would result in more charges to me for there employees not being there. The when then once I start my return process they tell me my total is 85 dollars more then I was quoted the day before over the phone. Terrible is putting it mildly. read more

I called to reserve a rental car over the phone which they said would be available for pickup. I tried to go to the location but it had moved. Their sign is still up with no information of where they moved at the old location and luckily someone told us that they had moved down the street. I got there and they had no cars. There were no cars in the area. Zero cars. I'm renting a car because my car was stolen. So they told me I was on the priority list and they would let me know as soon as possible. It's been 4 days I've called back 3 times and nothing has come of it. This is being covered by my insurance company so I don't have a choice. I am just blown away at the incompetence or the sheer ridiculous nature of this situation. Zero cars? What the heck happened? Is there some Mecca like event going on? I'm extremely lucky that my stolen car was just found but it will probably be out of commission for a week and hertz will just keep me waiting. Very disappointed. read more
