Hertz is the most disgusting company I've ever encountered. My first encounter was with my friends in Hawaii where we waited in the longest line that didn't move for almost an hour. Thankfully my friend who made the reservation is anal and made a secondary reservation so we were saved by Enterprise. My friend has boycotted Hertz ever since. This time, I ended up with Hertz due to booking with Priceline. Biggest mistake of my trip. After getting in after two flights, I had to take a bus to terminal one since the light rail was down. Then I had to take the escalator all the way to 4th floor since they were closing the first floor counter. They refused to rent to me after putting a $500 hold on my debit card (and then wanted even more money). I have never heard of such a scam. Now I'm trying to get my money back from Priceline. I already puke every time I see a Hertz commercial with Tom Brady but now I know I'll NEVER EVER rent with Hertz and will make sure everyone I know never gives Hertz any money.

Hertz is located in the outer part of the MSP terminals which require taking the train to the site. The car rental area is huge and very clean. Obtaining a vehcile was very easy and the check out was even simpler than most other major airports in the country. Getting out to the major highways is very feasible and returning your vehicle is even better. 5 stars for this Hertz location at MSP.

BUYER BEWARE !!!!! I'm honest and nice or this w/b a one star review based on my IRATE mood right now! I did a bundle for a recent Minneapolis MN trip, that included our rental car. A mid-size SUV. I'm not well traveled, but THOUGHT the rental car portion of our bundle included all but the fuel for our rental. NOPE! To my surprise, I see a $125 charge pop up on my credit card two days later. I called Expedia to help. They said that they had to contact Hertz and would get back to me. Crickets until I called back a day later. After an almost one hour hold, the rep (Alex - female) said that the charges were valid, etc., etc. She would not credit me a dime, like I asked. Essentially, we paid $307 total between Expedia and Hertz for a 2 day rental car (Kia Sorrento) that we barely drove (the car was on full at rental and the needle barely moved when we returned it ON TIME). I'm beyond PO'd !!!!!!!! The positives were that check in was easy and I loved the 2020 vehicle and driving it around beautiful Minneapolis. I will NEVER use Hertz again, and am still awaiting their overdue email (per Expedia) to me !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do NOT rent from this location. As a president's club member and frequent customer of Hertz, this is far and away the worst location I have been to. Twice, I have returned my rental car and been unable to find a live attendant to provide a physical receipt. In both instances, I was charged for an extended rental, despite the car being on site. I called the physical location several times and was only able to reach a resolution after contacting Hertz corporate. If you do choose to rent from this location - I recommend documenting your experience (as I did) to ensure you are protected if you need to pursue legal action given Hertz' well documented abuse of their customers.

We asked if it would impact our rates and they guaranteed it would not. We selected the car and went back into the office and confirmed we could use that car under our current contract with no impact on price. When we returned the car, the agent met us at the car and said, "we'll take care of everything and send you a receipt." We handed him the keys and stupidly did not get a receipt. I received the receipt just as I got to the gate in the airport. They raised the price to $698. No explanation. I tried to call customer service and you are told to go to their website. When I landed I went to the Thrifty counter at our destination and he said he could not access the records for MSP rentals and there was nothing I could do. I filled out their website form an have heard nothing. I am a Thrifty Blue Chip member and am not able to talk to a human about the problem. You fill in the information on the form and get no response. I don't understand how they can almost double the price of a signed contract without reason. Furthermore, I can't understand why it is impossible to talk to anyone about the problem. If you rent from Thrifty, beware, and never leave the rental without a final receipt.

I made the reservation weeks ago and selected "Manager's Selection" before I knew it would be snowing when I arrived in April. Upon arrival, they insisted on trying to upcharge me $60+ for an AWD vehicle even though their own website and others were suggesting SUV rentals would be less expensive than what I was originally charged. Most rental car companies would insist on upgrading me after selecting "Manager's Selection" when snow was newly on the forecast and AWD vehicles were on hand. The manager proceeded to argue with me by saying that I could book online but I'd have to wait hours for my new reservation to come through their system! She also consistently lied to me saying that the price online was actually more expensive than what I paid. I eventually booked online elsewhere and saved $100 but had to shuttle back to the airport. Will never rent here again.

My wife and I waited in line, not too long, during a recent visit to the Twin Cities until one of the nicest rental agents assisted us. The agent walked us through every step of the process, including the insurance and gas refill options. As we finished up, we were given the letter-number combo that identified the location where we could find our mid-sized SUV, a couple levels up. After taking one of the longest and slowest escalators, we made our way to the location after figuring out how the layout of number and letter combos worked. As I started to load the rental, a group of five approached the vehicle. One of the women said, "You're taking our car!" So I took out our bags, my wife got out of the front passenger seat, and my wife and I started back down the (longest ever) escalator back to the Payless, Budget, Avis counter line. You might look at the 3 star rating and wonder. What raised the rating to 3 Stars? The same agent who initially checked us in, saw us in line and immediately waved us to her counter. Once she understood our predicament, she upgraded our ride without our asking and apologized. We found our large SUV with no problem and experienced a smooth ride once we left the garage. Returning the car was easy and quick. MISC Be sure to follow the exit signs. Somehow I missed them and ended up in the area where the rental companies clean, gas, wash their vehicles!
