It was a good experience. I needed a vehicle while mine was being fixed. So I get here, go inside and it's pretty busy. Probably 10 customers, 3 employees. My complaint was (I believe it was the manager) we were told everyone that was not being helped needed to go outside and wait. I get this whole pandemic thing going on. However, EVERY customer was keeping distance and wearing mask. Now on this day it was 96 degrees out with a feel of 105. One of the guest just mentioned it was hot out, and this employees I can only assume was the manager was rude to him. His response was "Well CDC says 10 people or less so I don't understand what the complaint is for". I get Hertz has a business to run, but if there is room for 6ft apart and the customers are wearing mask and being aware of one another then maybe you should give a little. This location was, like every other review mentions, a horrible experience. After booking with them 24 hours prior- we arrived, post red eye, with young children in tow. Waiting in line we noticed them making quiet comments to one another, only to find out, they had no vehicles. When asked how we should proceed, the upstanding customer service employee said, you could wait hours, but it could be days. As we scrambled to line up our next plan, we received a call from Hertz- from the man at the desk in front of us, telling us they didn't have a car available. Gregory even called me at about 10 AM to confirm my reservation and to inform me that the car that I reserved is not here and that they will upgrade me to a larger vehicle. I told him I would see him soon and then I arrived at 11:30 and he proceeded to tell me that there were no cars available. How are there no cars available when I had a reservation? Save yourself some time and go to Enterprise!!! The staff is completely incompetent and seems to be bother by the idea of working. Not friendly nor courteous! I booked reservation using my PayPal app which advertised at 6% cash back reward for booking with Hertz so I booked it. Once I arrive and go to check in the moment the clerk sees my PayPal Cashback Mastercard he immediately says that they don't accept PayPal... I explain to him that it's not a "PayPal Card" and that it is in fact a Major Credit Card issued by PayPal which in fact affects a reward for using it at Hertz. He calls "Sabrina" over to confirm... I asked her to call the card company and ask about the fact that they're advertising 6% cashback when you book with them... she says OK and walks away with my card... she come back and says her manager says they don't accept it... I asked her to call the card company and she refused... I asked for the managers name and number and she also refused... I asked for the corporate complaint line, she also refused and told me to "look it up" Is this bait and switch? It seems so... they tried to raise the rental by 100$ because I had to use my debit card, plus a 500$ deposit and a soft credit check??? Lmao... what!?!? There customer service sucks, they are understaffed, seems like an inconsiderate company and is truly ran poorly. They move so slow like they don't see all of us waiting, there is zero hustle, and the manager just camps out in the office while leaving the other employees to deal with all the customers. They have multiple people maintaining the lot but only two serving customers. I mean look at these reviews and leadership has done nothing to improve the customer experience. Horrible experience with Hertz. My car was in the shop and my warranty allows for a rental car, if a loaner car is unavailable. I made arrangements twice for Hertz to pick me up so that I could get a rental car and leave in time to start work. In both instances Hertz failed. Eventually I had to Uber to Hertz in order to pick up the car. By this time my car has been in the shop for 5 days. The person I dealt with, Sabrina did not seem at all concerned about my inconvenience. She did offer a couple of apologies with words, but those were just words. She could have been a lot more polite and a lot more professional when I had questions and concerns. By the time I was there picking up the rental car, I was accustomed to their lack of concern for customers, so I wasn't surprised. The car was a pretty nice car. Newer with low mileage. Not what I would've chosen, if I had a choice(I tried but again, Sabrina didn't seem to care), but it was a decent car. It looked pretty clean. Even the windows and windshield seemed like they had done a really good job of preparation. It was a smoking car though. I'm sure a lot of folks wouldn't have minded, but to me it smelled horrible. I tried opening the windows for 20 minutes or so, but the odor didn't go away. I just wore my mask while driving it and limited how much I used it. It was good I didn't actually have to go back to Hertz. Because of my warranty I was able to leave the car at the dealer when I picked my car up. I'll never go back to this Hertz again, if I can help it. I'm sure they'll be just fine with that. I'm sure I'll use Hertz again, just not this one. 2020 has been a rough year for everyone. Rented a vehicle from this location , it had mechanical issues the first day of trip. I was unable to get ahold of anybody regarding my broken down Tesla. I was left with a broken car for 3/4 days. I was given a Camry as a replacement on Monday after waiting 3 days. When I got back to drop the Camry off , the rental place charged me for a weeks rental, and additional fees for a vehicle I drove one day. I reserved an SUV from Hertz via Hotwire. This was my 1st time renting from Hertz. I arrived at the Hertz location at the scheduled pickup time, Friday @ 2:00PM. Only 1 customer a head of me and her checkout was pretty quick. Jeff greeted me and he was absolutely awesome. It was a pleasure working with him. After he completed the paperwork, he went outside to clean the SUV. Meanwhile, Alex (Manager) stayed in his office. 10 minutes into the cleaning, Alex came out of his office and took over cleaning the SUV. Jeff came back inside the reception area. Alex drove the SUV to the front at 2:30 (30 minutes after my scheduled pickup time). The SUV was completely dirty on the outside. Alex half vacuumed the inside...so that left the inside dirty as well. But, I was running out of time, so I had to take the SUV. Alex asked me to sign to release the vehicle and get an email copy of the pictures he took, no problem - I did. I also took my own pictures of the SUV. Drove home to load the vehicle to go camping. I checked my email just to make sure I did get the pictures from Alex. Yes, I did receive the pictures. I also received a copy of a completed customer survey. Apparently, Alex filled out a customer survey on my behalf. Now, I'm annoyed. First a dirty SUV, now the survey. So, I called and spoke with Alex. I was cool...I didn't attack. I just wanted to let him know that I wasn't all that happy to see the customer survey. The conversation went something like this: Me: Hey Alex. I received your email with the photos. Thank you. But I wasn't happy to see that customer survey filled out. I didn't fill out a customer survey. Alex: What customer survey? Me: Do you want me to email it back to you? Alex: Hello, hello. This location is rather shabby and we actually though it was closed when the uber from the airport dropped us off. That said we had a huge problem with the car as the order had 2 different credit cards and that made our nice deal for the car null and void. However the manager Aksy Paker was a huge help. He spoke with the nasty person on the Hertz phone resolved it gave us a great rate, hopped out and got a car himself and off we went no problems.....Great guy thank you Mr. Paker for your help great customer service! read more

If I could give zero stars I would. I rented a car it was involved in a hit and run while I was out at Busch Gardens, I saw it when I got to my hotel since it was on the passenger side and I was driving alone. I did not get the insurance they offer since I have full coverage car insurance on my own car in New York. My insurance company paid for all damages and I was told case close. Hertz has harassed me to the point of almost stalking. They are trying to double dip and even though my Insurance paid them they are still trying to get A LOT of money from me personally. My insurance has told them to leave me alone and they keep telling them they will not contact me anymore but then the phone calls, letters start right back up. Overall, this was a great experience. I reserved my car online over a month in advance and prepaid. I also utilized my AAA discount and got a great price for the week. I was able to receive and return the car with no issues or additional fees. The car was clean and a 2019, which was luxurious to drive! I gave 4 stars because the AAA discount on the Hertz website states that any additional driver with AAA can be added for free. I planned on adding three additional drivers, but upon arriving at Hertz, they told me the policy changed and I could only add one for free. I rented a car from the Hertz location 15625 North Dale Mabry Highway, (which there is no yelp page for this location) and I was incredible disappointed by the service. I had a 10am appointment and when I got there, no one was at the desk and a hand written note that said to call a number. (Which was very odd) I called the number and a girl answered telling me she would be there in 30mins. Ughhhhh really? 30 mins... I was trying to call customer service and got absolutely nowhere because of their annoying automatic voice services. Why is it so difficult to speak to an actual person. I also reserved a mid sized sedan and the only vehicle they had available was a pickup truck. I was not informed this until I was there to pick it up. I literally had no other option and after waiting 30 mins I was forced to just take it. Since I did not reserve that car I asked the girl what could be done since the truck is a gas guzzler and I was driving the vehicle to Daytona area to see family. She said she marked the truck at only half full so I could return it at half full. Well, I just checked my receipt and sure enough I'm charged an additional $32.47 for "fuel & service" which brought my bill to a total of $193.58 to rent a car for 1 day and to drop it off at Orlando airport. It truly seemed that way, as the website indicated that my total charges for a 2 week rental would be $292 and change. When I got to the branch,they told me that they didn't take cash. I will note, it is not visible on their site that they don't take cash. Last I checked, we were still living with greenbacks in active circulation, right? So okay... No big deal. I walk back out to my car and get my cards. I walk back in and the guy proceeds to tell me that I will owe an additional $200 for the deposit. I asked him why, because the website explicitly showed that my total charges with the way I set the rental up would be $292 and change. He proceeded to say that he was telling me now that I would also owe an additional $200 on top of the original $292+. I rented a car at the airport for a one day trip to Florida. No problems with the rental when I got there but a couple weeks later I got my credit card statement and they billed me twice for the same rental. I called Customer Service (if you can call it that) and they told me there were two reservations. I told them I only booked once and it was at the same time I booked my plane ticket and they said that two reservations were created so it wasn't their problem. I asked to speak with a supervisor and was put on hold for ten minutes and then the same person came back on the line and told me his supervisor wasn't available to speak with me but that his supervisor agreed with him. This facility does not reserve cars for confirmed reservations! On Dec 27, I flew to Tampa, Florida to then drive to Clearwater to visit a sick family member. After taking a cab to the Hertz location at 6037 N Dale Mabry Hwy, I arrived at 7:30am. I was told that even though I had booked a rental car well in advance, and that my reservation was confirmed by Hertz, they had zero cars available. They let me know that they had no clue when they would get more rental cars and that my options were to wait at the rental facility or leave my contact and credit card information for them to call me when a car became available. Because I had no where to go, I had to wait at the facility. The two staff members working the counter were completely unapologetic and let me know that their managers were unavailable to speak to because they were driving around "trying to find cars". While waiting, a few couples with reservations also came in, were told the same information, and left their phone numbers as they took cabs to nearby restaurants to wait. I sat in that rental facility, unsure that I would get a car at all and horrified that I was unable to get to my sick family member, where the only bathroom was for "staff only," for over 2 hours before being told that cars were on their way. I was told that I would receive the first car that arrived. The first car, a minivan, arrived at about 9:40am. The employee let me know that they would get the van cleaned out and fueled up for me to take. Right before the van was ready, another car arrived. I was shocked to see that the employee driving the car was smoking a cigarette as she got out of that car. The front desk employee went to check on the van and when she came back in she let me know that her manager decided they were not going to give me the van, but instead I would need to wait for the new car to be cleaned and fueled up because a gentleman who was also waiting (but only since 9:00am) had reserved a van. This was also the point at which I found out that the front desk employees completely lied to everyone when they said if we left, they would call us in the order we arrived. They gave the van to the man because he was at the facility and they did not call the 4 couples that had arrived before him and left their credit card and phone numbers. Once my car was cleaned and fueled, I entered the car and was immediately hit with an extremely potent smell of cigarette smoke. When I brought it up to the employee, she pointed out the fact that it was the only car available and that if I didn't want it, they would give it to the next customers waiting. I left in the disgusting car at 9:50am, paying the same exact amount that I reserved the car for and headed to my destination (although I did have to make a stop for medication for the massive migraine the cigarette smell caused). This is not the service I expect from Hertz. I understand that every company has their issues, but to charge me the same amount as I was originally quoted without letting me speak to a manager shows that Hertz did not care about my experience. read more

Idiots. We recently arranged for a rental from this location. Hertz Local Edition is great because they'll pick you up within 15 minutes of their location, and since we were taking Amtrak to Tampa, which doesn't appear to have a Hertz kiosk at the station, we made arrangements to rent from Dale Mabry (4.8 miles, 13 minutes per Google Maps). So we were an hour outside Tampa, and we called them to let them know we expected to be on-time. The office gave us another number to call, which we did. Got to the station, and soon enough, a Hertz car pulls up. We ride back to the HLE, which turns out to be a desk in the lobby of some hotel. Do all the normal stuff. Get keys. Waiting for car, I'm looking at the invoice more closely, and the rate billed was .. substantially higher. Collar the clerk. Go back to desk. We discovered what happened ... this location wasn't Dale Mabry, and they had sent us to a *different* Hertz HLE, because Dale Mabry didn't want to come pick us up, as the other one was "closer." Unfortunately, the other one's rates were also higher, AND they had to charge a "concession" fee for the hotel, and nobody had mentioned that. I threw a fit and told them to call Dale Mabry to come pick us up. Instead, they very graciously cut their rate to match (which must have hurt, since they essentially had to cover the hotel's fee too). The guys at the hotel HLE were gracious and accommodating under fire, handling a potentially bad situation quite well. They told me to just go and they'd take care of it, and they actually *did* take care of it. Dale Mabry, on the other hand? You get a one star for starting our stay in the Tampa Bay area off poorly. read more

Our car was involved in an auto accident and sustained a considerable amount of damage so we needed a rental while it was being repaired. I was obviously not having the best day and when I called I gave them the wrong location to pick us up. When I called back to correct my error, Maria was courteous and kind; even though, they had already attempted to pick us up at the location I had told her we were at. She promptly arrived to pick us up about 10 minutes later and then waited patiently while we transferred our 3 child car seats into her vehicle. I was quite shaken at the financial stress of our unexpected car repairs and Maria was very compassionate in her conversation and persistent in her efforts to find us an affordable rate. The car we rented was clean and in good condition. This was our first experience renting from Hertz and Maria and we will definitely use their services for any rental car needs again! read more
