Oh man.... Please save your money and find somewhere else to rent a car! We came here to pick up our rental to drive to Arizona. Coming in, it literally felt like a set of Impractical Jokers. Two people out front with one computer each and a locked door with more people and the whole rest of the business in the back. We rented a mid-size and was brought a Ford Escape, so a little upgrade which was nice. But then Homegirl literally disappeared for 10 minutes to seemingly take the car in a circle because I know for a fact no sanitation precautions were done. Upon getting the car, scratches/dents all over, left over goo from a taken off sticker on the back window, overall pretty trashed exterior. The interior was noticeably vacuumed but definitely not wiped. Weird white chunky-like substance on the wheel and get this- the button to turn the AC fan higher was missing. We showed the man in the lobby but he wasn't the one that rented it out to us. He said he would upgrade us if he could but there were no other cars available. The woman who rented it to us came back from hiding in the back and played it off with "well it still works"... I've worked in rental before and if a whole ass (kinda important) button is missing it already deems the car not suitable to rent! The overall condition of the car was trash! Listen to the reviews on this place.... The people were nice but the vibe was weird. This location really needs to get their shit together! Picked up my rental on 9/21. Upon arrival there was only 1 attendant helping people. There was 1 person she was helping. I was the second person waiting then slowly but surely multiple people started showing up. I saw multiple people go in & out the back. I was hoping these were employees arriving to work or from break to assist her! Nope! Finally after 30 minutes and 5 + people were waiting, she called for help from the back and 2 guys came out to assist. So they were just chilling in the back? Hmm My next issue...I called on 9/22 to extend my rental until Saturday. As someone answered, they asked if I minded being on a brief hold. This brief hold was over 20 minutes. I finally hang up and called right back, and the girl from before said "oh there was a lot of people that needed to be helped in our lobby but how can I help you"...great so you kept another customer on hold for that long...cool! Lastly, I go to drop off my rental before they close on Saturday. Lobby is packed with people. The same girl does her speech of "if anyone is just dropping off I can take the keys and email you the receipt later". I go with this option, otherwise I'll be waiting around for forever. Guess what? Recently rented a vehicle for 22 days ($1,000 + rental fee) and Hertz didn't have the decency to drive me back to my residence. Said it outside their 15min courtesy drop-off. Mind you, I live 16 min away. Poor....poor customer service.... But they sure did take my money . A bit of advice, they really don't care about the consumer. It's about money. Okay this is our experience at this location. We had a Chevy equinox, 26mpg, clean an with no issues. Two agents, six customers. They were very polite, efficient. Honestly felt bad for them. 21 years I've been a Hertz Gold member. This local edition continues to disappoint. I had a 3 pm reservation last Tuesday and it was 3:43 before I had my car. They posted the receipt as full of gas and out at 3:13, but it was full. The agent had an attitude about my mask. Rented a car from here this business is very busy I reserved a newer Buick regal but they gave me a nice 18" Nissan Maxima instead that was actually fun to drive. Checking the car out was easy and the lady who helped me was really nice she was a Filipina girl I didn't get her name but she was awesome and helpful thank you Miss Lady for the car selection. Just don't do it! Reservation was at 4PM, arrived at 4:04PM and there is a woman already yelling at the employee Michael bc she said she had been waiting on him to open the door for 30 minutes. Michael says they were closed and had no vehicles to honor anyone's reservation. Judging by the reviews they really should just close this entire location. We had to drive 40 minutes to Vista for a van. The staff at Vista stayed open twenty minutes passed their closing time to accommodate us. Such poor customer service at this location. read more

Rented my car a week ago for pickup tomorrow only to get a call at 4:30 today telling me they don't have a car for me. This leaves me no time to rent a car elsewhere because car rental companies close at 5pm. To make matters worse the woman tells me I can rent at the same price from Ontario Airport so I set that up online. If I could give this place zero stars, I would. If you have all day to spend here...then you'll be fine. I unfortunately do not. I've been here 4 times (2 pick ups/2 drop offs). Each time I've waited longer than an hour even though the car was reserved (except the last drop off). Your time is not important. The staff moves slower than molasses and there is literally one guy at the desk helping walk ins and answering phones. I'm stuck using this place because it's the only place Nissan Temecula uses for their rentals (new car seems to be a lemon). They fail to tell you that you can just hand them the keys if you are doing a drop off. I finally figured that out on the last drop off. My fault, I guess. I had a bad experience with this rental agency. I was involved in an accident- rear ended to be exact. After that traumatic experience I had to get another vehicle to get to work. I was secured a vehicle from the other parties insurance company. I went to pick up my vehicle and the vehicle they gave me hadn't been cleaned. I thought okay I've been through enough and just want get home to rest. I had no other problems with the car. About one month later I was just checking my back account as I generally do and notice a substantial charge from Herzt. $997.00 I immediately called thinking the charge was in error. The representative said I had agreed to the extra auto insurance charges. NOT!!!!! Now mind you I have full coverage auto insurance. I know my carrier would cover me if I had have been involved in an accident in their vehicle. The agent that assisted me never mentioned I would be charged an extra $ 29.00 a day for the vehicle. When I call to speak with a supervisor my phone calls were not returned on more than two occasions. Finally a supervisor did responded and offered me $300.00 refund. I had requested to speak to another supervisor and was told there was no one else to speak to regarding my request for a full refund. I explained what had happened with the no call backs, and how the agent never explained to me I would be charged the extra fees- I suspect it because they received a commission on the victims/ customers. Andrew, the supervisor was unprofessional and told me he spoke for the corporate office and he had the the final say. I had to escalate my complaint to the executive offices. I was told by there office in the notes I had agreed to a partial payment in the amount of $300.00. I request the conversation to be reviewed so they could hear the truth at not time did I accept the 300.00 they tried to offer me. The executive team claimed they would review the tape. After the so called review they still only offered me 300.00. If this is they way they treat their hard working customers. I'm a Mother who has a disabled son and has no extra money. A complimentary rental was set up through my insurance company. Was told that there would be complimentary pickup. I have them a call and wanted to utilize the complimentary pickup, but was told that Fallbrook might be too far for them. The lady that answered me said that she would speak with the manager and get back to me. No call back still. The reservation that I received didn't say anything about mike restriction. It just says complimentary pickup. Very deceiving message from them. That would mean I would have to pay $20 for an Uber to take me from my house to Temecula to get the car. Just received a call from Hertz stating the vehicle I reserved a few weeks ago for pick up tomorrow morning is not available. The lady stated they over booked and called me to inform me the day before. I reserved this large SUV to take my son and players to a soccer tournament in AZ tomorrow. With the last minute call I can't find a large SUV from anyone to rent for the weekend. The only solution the lady offered was to call corporate. I called them and spent almost an hour for them to tell me there is nothing they can do, it was overbooked and sorry we can refund your money we took a few weeks ago. This is the second reservation within a month that has not gone according to plan. No I have to figure out how to get to AZ from CA tomorrow. read more

After my sixth rental via Hertz I am upgrading this review from 4 to 5 stars, as they (to me) are "as good as it gets" for the Temecula Valley area. I have had ZERO issues each time I have rented from them, including this past weekend. You can read, if inclined, my previous reviews (below) as to what I perceive are the hang ups with most people (besides the fact some will ALWAYS take the time to write a negative review when they feel they have been "wronged" in some way). We came in on a late Friday afternoon, when it is usually crunch time for them (yuck). We were in and out in a timely manner, considering I made the mistake of checking in an hour earlier than I had reserved the car for (my fault). The wait when I returned it late Monday afternoon was not hateful either. Both encounters were with Joe and I appreciate your professionalism. As noted, should I ever have an issue I perceive as negative I will update my review and let y'all know. Even so, I can't imagine it being an issue that would drop it down to a single star! On Wednesday 3-31-21 I had an emergency and I decided to rent a car, I only had couple of hrs. to get ready and hit the road, I had made an online reservation early that day (5 am or 6 am) for an afternoon pickup; I went to get my rental as schedule (12:30 Pm) with all my things ready to travel, I got a big surprise they did not have any cars available, I was also told "we will give you a call as soon as we get one" I never received that call either. I end up not going to where I was supposed to go, no apologies or anything. My job requires me to travel a lot so i have dealt with rental cars many many times. Never have I had this happen to me. June 11 I reserve a convertible. I get a confirmation and email saying it's good to go. I call once to check car will be there. June 23rd a second verification email. It was reserved for 0900. I show up at 917 and my wife drops me off... 0925 I get seen...they say the car is in the system and it is here but they can't find it. I wait an hour. I get told the manager might have it but he can't be contacted... They might have one I hemet and asked me if I want to go and pick it up there? One I'm stranded here and two the whole point of a car rental place is I reserved the car here, I live in Temecula I want to rent here. Easy to pick up my luggage and go. We have reservations for a family gathering in Santa Barbara its 1233 right now and I'm 3 hours behind schedule. Now I'm questioning will I even make dinner there and I know hertz won't reimburse me for my lost money for dinner reservations. This place is understaffed and I counted 4 people while waiting that had cars reserved they didn't have. Not only that the phone rang 72 times. Did I count it yes because I was sitting in the lobby waiting for my car. This is the worst experience I have ever had, it ruined my vacation and at this time I am still waiting for my car. If anything I was here the exact same hours your employees were and the only difference is they got paid for their hours and I sat and waited on my own dime. Booked a rental car here so that we would have a mini van to take my parents to the airport with all of their luggages. I originally rented from Avis a few days before for a much cheaper price for a Standard Elite SUV. But we didn't want an SUV, we wanted a Mini van and at Avis, it was sold out. So we went here to book a mini van. The website said it was available so we booked it through the website. When it came time to pick up the mini van, we were told that they don't have any. So in other words, they lied about having mini vans available and we ended up with a standard Elite SUV, the same kind of car we rented from Avis a few days earlier, ONLY it's $70 more a day! Oh, how thoughtful of you, Hertz! Had I known, I would have stayed with Avis. The lady there tried to convince me that everyone including my parents' luggages would fit in the car. It did, but we had to really squish everyone in, not to mention two car seats! Then during holiday traffic, we told them that we might miss their 6:00 pm deadline and they said that since they are closed tomorrow, we would have to pay for 3 days since they are closed the day after Thanksgiving as well. We didn't want to pay over $300 for a car we didn't even want! So finally, after my husband yelled at them over the phone, they said that they can drop the car off at the Ontario airport, they close at 10pm. So we drove home, got our car, took two cars to the airport, dropped the car off and came home, resulting in a 6 hour drive! Then, when we dropped the car off at the Hertz at the airport, they asked if the scratches in the front of the car were there before we picked it up. Since we picked the car up at night, at 6pm, we didn't see it and they didn't tell us. The Hertz in Ontario told us that the local edition Hertz like to screw people over like that and have people pay for damages that we didn't even do, so she had us fill out a report to cover ourselves. Every time I go to this location I wait 40-60 minutes plus....You also have a 50/50 chance they will actually have the vehicle you reserved.

This is by far the absolute WORSTE Hertz location I have ever been to. This place is a total scam and the people who work there are no better. I picked up my rental closer to 12:30pm but they still showed 12:00pm on my receipt instead of correcting the rental pickup and return times. In addition, the car that they gave me wasn't even clean - as a matter of fact, it was completely filthy! So much so that I had to vacuum it myself when I got home. When I went to return it a couple days later on Saturday, the doors were locked. A man (who I'm pretty sure is pictured in one of the previous reviews) opens the door just to say, "we're closed" and then proceeds to tell me that I have to keep the rental until the following Tuesday. He doesn't even offer any alternative solutions until my husband asked if there was another location we can take it to. Long story short, we ended up driving it to an airport location and getting charged an extra day! Thankfully, after contacting customer service, they waived the additional day and the airport location waived the inter city fee for dropping it off at a different location. That's the only reason I'll even consider returning to Hertz but I'll NEVER use this horrible location again! I hope they shut it down for the horrible customer service and lack of professionalism! My car had overheated on the 215 so I needed a rental, I have AAA with one free day rental but for 48 hrs so I'd pay for the second day. I got in and the guy who was available looked at me like I was a burden and wasn't genuine when it came to helping me with renting a car. I understand that I couldn't get a car using my debit card since I'm under the age of twenty five but they should have it listed as I don't have a credit card with more than a $200 credit line and it's $200 returnable security deposit on top of the fees and day price.....He didn't care, and was upset that he had to clean and get the car ready....it wasn't even freaking ready, when I had a reservation a whole 24 hours prior and it didn't look busy at all, they had a ton of cars but none of them "ready" I left and decided I'd rather Uber around then deal with this insensitive asshole I'm sorry but not sorry. read more

Brutal service. Their process is completely unnecessarily long and clumsy. Long wait times, understaffed, and long process to get the car and get out of there. In addition, the car was dirty. Including a very large stain on the seat that (uhg...) appeared to be consistent with a very specific body fluid. So disgusting. You might save $10-$20 by going with Hertz, but its nowhere near worth it. Its too bad there is not a National Rental Car in Temecula because they are head and shoulders above the rest. In the absence of National, go with Enterprise. Then again, just about anything is better than Hertz. read more

I started out this review, with one star and very upset with customer service. The manager of the location was not helpful didn't call back when she said she would regarding my situation and overall it was just horrible customer service and a bad experience. However when I called back and the district manager was onsite his name is Luis he did help and at the end of the conversation we came to an agreement that was fair for all parties involved. I would rent from this location again only because of Luis and he is the reason that my issue was resolved. Great job on his part. However a word to the wise, make sure you read your contract and are aware they no longer have a dropbox. read more

First when we walked in after making a reservation through AAA there were 5 people waiting. Neither of the two employees acknowledged us (not anyone else that walked in either). Then after waiting 40mins we were told even if we made a reservation they had "no cars left". The old lady working was rude and both employees were so slow! Not what I expect from a major car rental company. I am giving Hertz in Temecula a 1 star for lousy service all around. I made a pre purchased with no cancellation reservation from third party at a good rate but not sure if it was with the savings. This office is severally understaffed and lack professionalism by all personnel. After a long wait time to acquire the vehicle and sign the rental agreement we had to wait an additional 45 minutes on top of what we already waisted for dirty car and receive the car with a 3/4 tank and not to mention late on my appointment. being That this was a pre purchased with no cancellation reservation they should have had the vehicle clean, full tank and READY TO GO!!! in a timely manner.
