    Please don't rent here, go to enterprise instead. Horrible customer service, worst rental experience ever!

When I checked in to pick up the car, the agent mumbled when he spoke, didn't look me in the eye, barely mumbled some contract information had a pisspoor attitude & not at all customer friendly. When I found out the car was not what I requested, I went back in to get switched to a 7 passenger, he did the switch but gave me the keys to the dirty Dodge Durango! Upon entering, it smelled like marijuana and there were dents & scratches all around the outside, it clearly had not been washed and there was a cigarette burn in the passenger seat! We took pictures of all the issues we found, but you can't take a picture of "smell" unfortunately. I complained to a lot attendant who told me that the person at the gate will go through the vehicle and make note of everything before we leave. We got to the gate, I complained to the gate attendant about everything I'd noticed wrong with the vehicle, she acted like she was listening, clicking her fingers on her handheld device, assuming she was making notes of every complaint I had, she repeatedly nodded, rolled her eyes a few times, as if she was disgusted as well. She took a couple picture's, reached into the car and took a picture of the mileage and said you're free to drive out. While at our destination, we looked around for the reason for the smell and found the marijuana box in the glove compartment and threw it away. We returned the vehicle on Sunday with a full tank of gas, in the same condition we were given it, and now come to find out, I'm being charged a $450 fee because it smells of smoke!! This was not from me or anyone riding with me and I will not pay this fee! I am furious with AVIS and will NEVER rent from you again and will post this on every social media platform unless you make this right! I will be calling when the phones open at 7:30am tomorrow and make a formal complaint!

I explained what was going on and mentioned that I felt like I had been overcharged when I rented the vehicle in Chico, CA. Instead of brushing me off, Taylor took the time to look into it. She discovered that I had in fact been charged incorrectly and was able to adjust my rate from about $190 per day to roughly $70 per day. The money she saved me was huge, but what stood out even more was the way she treated me. She listened, showed genuine compassion for my situation, and worked hard to make things right. Customer service like that is rare these days. Taylor turned what could have been a frustrating experience into one that restored my faith in good customer service. She was professional, kind, and incredibly helpful when I needed it most. Thank you, Taylor. You made a difficult time a little easier, and I won't forget it.

Luckily Hertz was able to fill our requirement (five with baggage) but at three times the cost. We had no choice since we were on a tight schedule and could not wait the hours for a potential return. Very frustrating and not sure what to do in the future as we rent in Yakima often.

The agent at the airport assured me they would be there from 645 to 745 Pm,and my rental would be ready to go. Went to pick up the rental and no one was there. I waited , tried to call, I could hear the phone ringing behind the wall at the desk.I called Avis and was informed the airport Avis location is a franchise. Avis corporate could not give me any info, no contact numbers nothing. Well least I got "sorry" If you rent a car from this location you better double verify they will be there. I only verified once....ughh.

When I tried to return it in my home town, they said it would be a $500 fee. So, I had to pay somebody to follow me back to Yakima, which was a 6 hour round trip in 94 degree weather. (BEWARE! They stamp extra constraints onto their copy of the contract but not on your copy.) When I did return it to Yakima, the unpleasant employee overcharged me by $525 on my Debit card. When I pointed it out, he said he fixed it and gave me a new receipt. They also refused to give me the AAA discount. An hour later I checked my bank account and they charge me the higher price which put my account in overdrawn status. I called them, of course they didn't answer their phone, so I left a message. 1.5 days later, still no return call. So I called the Avis 800 number. Many calls, many transfers, and many times put on hold, a supervisor finally told me SORRY! THERE'S NOTHING WE CAN DO. IT WILL FIX ITSELF OVERNIGHT. Well, of course, it did NOT fix itself overnight. So here we are leaving on vacation and unable to access my own money in my own account cuz these idiots over charged me!!! I will NEVER NEVER NEVER use AVIS EVER again!

    Arrived in Tucson after a long day of delayed flights due to fog only to wait in a line two hours…read morefor a reserved auto at the Budget counter. We had called to notify Budget we were delayed. We were assured Budget would honor our reservation as long it was picked up within 24 hours of the pickup time. The Budget line was not divided into customers with reservations and without. (Why get a reservation?) At the desk Budget offered a Toyota Highland but after the paperwork, they handed us the keys to an electric Mustang and pointed us to a dark garage, no instruction and a car with only a 30% electric charge. We have never driven an electric car, we are in a strange city. In addition, Budget would not accept the insurance we had purchased when we reserved through Delta. Then, Budget asked my opinion on a survey that was impossible to complete.

Unfortunately a police officer came and asked us to move as we were on a main road and blocking traffic. We very slowly moved it to the closest parking lot. The whole time I was waiting on hold. Just as we were getting it parked someone finally picked up. It took an hour for someone to come look, another hour for someone to tow us, another hour to be told it would be worked on sometime during the next day. No offer of a new truck as it was already well past 8pm. Now we get told after calling several times this morning that the damage was even worse and no part is available until Monday. A wonderful agent Misty, tried to get a new truck, but they continue to run into issues and in fact are refusing to pay to have a truck brought from 4hours away.. This is insane. The damage is so bad that if we'd been on the highway we'd have most likely been severely injured or died. I can not in good conscience EVER recommend a company that does such a completely incompetent job of performing maintenance on their vehicles and end up in us incurring additional costs due to this incompetence. Whatever you do, run as fast as you can ANYWHERE ELSE! UPDATE: TheY've basically refused to help. They want us to submit receipts for everything once the truck is returned and have turned to remove all responsibility from themselves onto their service contractor. One star is beyond generous!
