I wish there was a '0 Star' option. This location is absolutely TERRIBLE, as is the company and their customer service (face to face and by phone). After reading others reviews, I realize my situation is the EXACT SAME as many before... Reserved a vehicle, only to be told "there are no cars" once I arrive at the location. The representative was very short, and I was told THREE separate times I'd receive a callback (as there was SUPPOSEDLY 2 cars being returned w/i the hour) and here we are 3 hours later... not one call back... and no car. Hertz in Tomball called me wanting to pick up a rental car today even though my car was not being dropped off at the collision place until Tuesday. Kendall told me I had 20 minutes to come get the car before they gave it to another customer. I called the insurance right away and they told me the rental car would not be covered until I actually dropped off the car. What a scam! Stay away from this Hertz. read more

Please reconsider when booking your reservation with this location. The manager on duty was impolite, unprofessional and not concerned about customer service at all. I received 4 different calls in the span of 24 hours to tell me the car I reserved was unavailable and different cars offered on every call. Once I showed up with my luggage and two kids, the supervisor stated that no one had confirmed my preferred car type and since they were sold out, I would have to take whatever was available. This is the WORST place to rent a car! Kids working there! Dirty car but the only one left! Really??? I signed pet agreement even though I have no pets however the heater smelled like wet dogs when on high! Disgusting odors and when I complained they just said, "Really?" Wouldn't give me a different car! Then they NEVER BILLED ALLSTATE FOR THE 50 days my car was at Car Star Pinnacle Auto Body...another HUGE MISTAKE...for 50 days! To replace a bumper...hmmmm! So they charged my credit card $1637.85! Was a total NIGHTMARE from day one with both Pinnacle and Hertz! If I could give this location and company as a whole no stars I would. Rented a car for one day to pick up my cancer patient grandfather from San Antonio . And bring him to MD ANDERSON. Myself , my wife and grandfather , does not and has NEVER smoked. They charged our Credit Card an extra 300$ for a smoking fee. Shame on Jessica the branch manger and staff as a whole. Do yourself a huge favor and do not rent a car from hertz. I reserved a luxury car for a 10 day vacation with my family two weeks ago. They called me two hours before we were supposed leave to tell us they don't have a luxury car available. Tried to stick me with a little piece of crap car that was all ragged and wasn't gonna have enough room for us. Not gonna be cramped up in the pos for 10 days. Now my entire vacation plans are all screwed up. Wasted two hours of my time today messing around with these people. Not counting all the time I put in to my reservations to get the right car reserved. Gonna have to drive my own vehicle now, and I have $1600 of my money tied up for 7 to 10 days because that is how long before I can get money back in my account. The girl at the front desk was a know it all type but more importantly, i rented the car for only one day at $60.20/day in which she gave me the receipt for but billed my credit card $100.00. Thankfully my credit card company denied the charge and alerted me. I'll give them the opportunity to send the correct bill, otherwise I'll refuse payment and report them to Better Business Bureau. I made a reservation through a third party, as I had done many times. I called and asked about picking up the car early (which is not unusual either), the lady assured me that there wasn't a problem with me doing that. I arrived and I was being checked out my credit card company alerted me of a charge. When I asked her why I was charged if I had completed the reservation through a third party, she explained that it was taxes. Again, I asked, as this does not add up in any way, she says that she will speak to supervisor. After asking, she tells me that they were charging me a different rate than the one quoted through the booking company. Upset, I called my booking company, and through them I learned that they charged me for an extra day for picking up 4 hours earlier. When I called, I spoke to Anthony, who was unhelpful, condescending and rude. He said to me "next time, don't book through a third party." Sometimes you wonder how these people got to an adult age behaving this way. Obviously he has done this enough times (from previous reviews) that Hertz should have fired him, but the branch manager must be just as bad as him (maybe it is him, Hertz has yet to give me a name). There are many companies to choose from when booking a car, I will save you the unpleasant experience, and recommend that you book elsewhere. Not worth it. read more

If I could rate one star I would. I declined the insurance, I have documentation if this, as well as a witness stating it was declined, and I was charged TWICE. The first charge was 6/4 of $226. I spoke with the dealership (who I got my rental through) as well as the Assistant Manager of the branch. My rental was extended and my money refunded the next day. The car was returned on 6/6. Last Thursday 6/13, one week after I returned the car, I was charged AGAIN. $225 this time. Being a different amount than the first time, I placed a call into Hertz Tomball where I was placed on hold for 11 minutes after I asked to speak with the manager since my agreement said I had "asked" for insurance and immediately hung up on once the phone was picked up. Mind you, they do not put you on hold. They place the phone down so you can hear phones ringing, walking, and conversations in the background. I called back, repeated my situation about how the rental was returned a week previous, I declined insurance, etc., and was hung up on again by the "manager". A now week and two days later the information given to me by Hertz regarding plate pass is also wrong. I'm disappointed in the time and effort I have spent trying to get my money back when I should not have been charged in the first place. I am also disappointed in the lack of respect I received from each person I spoke with regarding this issue in store. I will not be using Hertz in the future as I gladly take my business elsewhere. read more

If giving negative stars were an option, this place needs it!! This location is an absolute joke. I have been calling multiple times a day for over a week and either could not get ahold of anyone or told they would call me back and never would. My Vehicle was in the shop for warranty work and therefore the rental vehicle was covered through warranty. Nope! They continue to charge my card, saying they do have the renewal contract from the dealership. Which I know they did because I have a copy of it. The dealership said they are being charged as well, so the rental company is charging twice for the same rental. Again, took over a week to actually get someone on the phone to actually speak too other than them saying they will call me back just to avoid the conversation. I will be closing out my card just to stop the charges. read more

This is the worst car rental place I have ever used. There is an enterprise within walking distance from this place. I only used it because my car was being repaired at Tomball Dodge and they have a shady deal going between them so you have to use this car rental place. The cars were trash. They charged me a ton of money when my warranty company paid for all the car rental. Neither place would do anything about the mistake. DO NOT EVER RENT A CAR FROM THIS HERTZ. Horrible. I rented a car from Hertz Tomball for our road trip to Mississippi, where we proceeded to get a flat! No biggie right? Just get the spare. THE CAR HAD NO SPARE TIRE. I called the 1-800 number they provided, which told me "we can't travel that far, go to a fire store they will fix the tire for free." We drove half way across town to a firestone where they would not fix it for under $90. So we called back, they advised us to go to the nearest hertz (20 minutes away) and swap cars. They forgot to inform us that location closed YEARS AGO. I spent my family vacation driving around town and on the phone with customer service who did NOT speak good English. AND had to pay $75 for a new tire just to ensure we made it home on time. I kindly explained all my troubles when returning the car and they did NOTHING. Not a single dollar was refunded nor did I get any credit for a next visit. I WILL NOT BE BACK. read more

DO NOT RENT FROM THIS LOCATION EVER! The assistant branch manager lied directly to my face and attempted to swindle $200 from my account WITHOUT authorization! I reserved my vehicle and PAID IN FULL but when I arrived at the location I was told there was an additional $200 deposit. I own a Marketing company, if anyone reads the fine print - it's me! There was NOTHING in my agreement or any of my confirmations outlining a $200 deposit. When I asked that he produce the policy that requires me to pay that amount I was told "that's just our policy" On top of that - they had already tried to run my card on file for the charge that I was COMPLETELY unaware of. Then when I asked to cancel the reservation I was told that I would be charged the ENTIRE reservation charge AGAIN to cancel. When I called corporate, they said there is no such policy and they immediate returned my fee with no charge! This trip was booked to celebrate my 30th birthday and now that's ruined. I will always credit Hertz for that. Also, my clients travel all over the US and I'll be sure to tell them to NEVER travel with Hertz! I will be reporting this to the BBB as well! read more
