    Hoagie, curly fries

Cheese steaks are easily my favorite sandwich of all time, so I had high hopes for this place. They pile the meat HIGH! Which is great, you get a lot of beef in each bite of the sandwich. The meat is very thin and chopped up like a proper cheese steak and you get to choose what kind of cheese. I got a hoagie so it had lettuce tomato and mayo. The bun is soft and satisfying to bite into. Overall, I enjoyed how it tastes. The things I didn't like: curly fries did not come out hot. And the sandwich would be better with a bit more cheese.

The liberty. Highly recommend it. It's not too spicy. It's perfect.

Absolutely amazing and so delicious. The bread is so soft and the meat is so tender. I ordered the liberty..

    8" Mexican Cheesesteak. (Husband's choice)

What a hidden gem! We heard about this place on Good Day Sacramento and drove from Plumas Lake just to give it a try! We were not disappointed, WOW the best Philly Cheesesteaks I have ever had! The roll was perfectly soft and warm!! The service was excellent, very invested in their customers, ensuring everything is perfect! Even the fries were spectacular! The only thing during lunch rush is there is limited seating, could benefit from putting in some booths. I got the 8" mushroom Philly cheesesteak and could only finish half of it! I was stuffed! Saving the other half for later!

    12in Cheesesteak... well... 6in remaining.

Eagles vs Commanders on TNF. Cheesesteaks required and "He's from Philly" delivered. Literally. Decent steak sandwiches. Lots of meat and fixings. They use Amoroso rolls, fresh from Philly, so yep, they know what they're doing. While not the closest to Davis, well worth the wait for delivery or the trip to Woodland.

Lots of options for parking, big roomy place with ample seating. Cashier was friendly, but owner was super friendly. Got a cheesesteak, fries, and a drink. The cheesesteak was great - the bread was really soft and there was a good ratio of bread/meat/cheese. The fries were some of the best fries I've had in a long time. I'd probably try the cheesesteak fries next time. Love supporting small new places and this one was worth the visit.

Triple cheese Cheesesteak. Where's the cheese??

Growing up outside Philly, I was excited to give this place a try. I even told the gal behind the counter and asked if I was going to be disappointed but she assured me I wouldn't. We were here just after they opened so no line to contend with. I ordered the triple cheesesteak and my hubby had the chicken mushroom sandwich. You can tell he's not from Philly! We grabbed a spot at one of the bare bones metal table and chairs and waited a few minutes for our order. The decor leaves a lot to be desired. It is bare bones and cheap with fireworks playing on the overhead screen. Strange. The food arrived and I have to say that it was okay. This is a 3.5 star experience that I've rounded up as my last review of the year. Definitely not legit Philly cheesesteaks but pretty good. My cheesesteak was seriously lacking cheese, the meat had been ground down to a pulp, and the onions were way too big and undercooked. No one bothered to check. Pricing is a bit high. They are actually priced higher than either Pat's or Geno's in Philly. A sauce option was not available for the cheese curds but is available for purchase. Petty at the prices they are charging. I have a been there done that attitude here and will likely not return. Much like IYKYK, in this case if you don't know Philly cheesesteaks, they're probably going to be great for you. I wish them well!

Try to make these sandwiches photogenic... it's impossible. Thrilled cheese with added bell pepper. Already comes with Mayo and onion.

I'm wondering if it's a different bakery? Dutch crunch is always has a crunch! It's what I like. It was pretty flavorless. The produce was soggy. I think that's what made the entire sandwich seemed very soggy. It just seems like the entire sandwich had been made in advance, maybe hours before, and then served. I just don't get it. I also had macaroni salad. It was so-so. The cookie looked over done, but it was actually fine. I know this isn't typical for other locations so I'm hesitant to come back to this one. I hope others have better experiences! I mean, it's just a sandwich.

I ended up getting the papi chulo super doggo between that and the Sonora doggo. The main difference between that and the Sonora doggo, as it was explained is that this one is a little spicier, which I was looking for. The bun itself was a little crumbly than I would have liked, but still soft. There was A LOT of sauce as explained, which I guess should have been a warning for me (I'm not a big huge sauce person). It was almost a little overwhelming in terms of amount of sauce and covering the other flavors, but it was good. Very messy, of course. I also shared the elote cup, which also had a lot of sauce, but I liked how much tajin there was. Prices were reasonable. Service was very friendly! They have an outdoor covered seating area. The parking lot on a mild Friday evening was also nearly empty, which is why, after the experience I had, I'm hoping this 5 star review catches someone's eye to drum up a little more business for this humble eatery. Judy's has been around since before I was born. When I was a kid I remember visiting a few times with my dad to get burgers and shakes (I seem to recall waiting for food on an old car seat? Maybe other people remember that). About 12 years ago, I worked in the office building just behind it, and would visit for lunch at least once a week--I remember the BLT being very good. This place has always been a dive, as far back as my memory goes. So don't expect a clinically clean interior. Everything is showing its age, including the massive menu covering the gamut: teriyaki, cheesesteaks, gyros, and of course the greasy spoon mainstays of burgers and hot dogs. After I got a new job, I didn't have much occasion to visit Judy's. They also don't exactly serve up the kind food you want to be eating every day. But I happened to find myself on the west side of town and was craving fish and chips, and could only think of one place to visit. I ordered online through their website, which was very easy, and they offer lots of options for customization. I really appreciated they had a 1-piece fish and chips, because, as I suspected, the portions are really large. I arrived about 5 min before my estimated pick-up time, and after a short wait the woman running the whole show came out and my food was already ready. She was so sweet, that on impulse I decided to get a shake as well. I wonder if the business changed management since I used to frequent a lot, because I don't remember this woman at all, but she was very kind. I discovered just how kind once I got home: not only did I have a generous portion of crispy fish and chips, but a bonus fried zucchini and what I think was a sweet potato plank. They really didn't have to do that, but I so appreciated it. Word to the wise: they leave you to salt your food, so if you are taking to go and don't have access to a salt shaker, perhaps borrow one from a vacant table to shake in your bag before you leave. As previously mentioned, the fish--which had something like a beer batter or tempura batter--was crunchy and delicious. The filet itself wasn't super thick, but the fish has a mild taste and was cooked perfectly. The fried veggies were also super good, and I LOVED their tartar sauce: so herbaceous. The fries are exactly the kind I like in this application: English style thick-cut chips. Predictably, the milkshake was also delicious (peanut butter and chocolate, so how could it not be?) So Judy's isn't much to look at from the outside, but it has real heart. Even though it isn't my style of food and is a bit out of the way for me, I want to continue supporting this business. They deserve it, and you deserve some delicious fish and chips.
