Coffee quick service review! Hesters is a welcoming local coffee and breakfast shop! On this day, we walked/ran just over 4 miles and decided to stop into Hesters for a well deserved iced mocha latte with oat milk! Hesters on this day was comfortably full and they were able to process orders at the walk up line quickly and efficiently. We were given a number and found a seat near the windows! Soon after, 2 iced coffee drinks were brought over! The iced mocha was well done but not award winning! The food on tables looked well done and is a reason to return! Only downside was the bathrooms, they were extremely smelly and overall not in a great condition. With that aside, Hesters was a great coffee and seemingly breakfast spot to check out while in Corpus! read more

Beautiful courtyard (dog-friendly), lovely staff, varied menu and good quality food! The desserts looked absolutely amazing, but we were only there for breakfast. The food was good: solid omelets though a tad overcooked, good potatoes but HEAVY on the paprika, and a minuscule side of fruit in what I would use as a salad dressing cup. It's been quite a while since we've been to either Hesters' and we had a gift card we wanted to use up. Glad we did. Wife got a Cobb salad and tortilla soup, I got a garden salad and Laguna Club sandwich. Everything about the meal was great. Wife enjoyed her coffee very much, my tea was pleasant. Drawbacks are part of a consequence of being popular. Crowded and loud. There was a table of ladies that made far more noise than most around them thought reasonable. The glances they got from just about everyone in the place made no difference to the 4 Karens. Anyway...we did enjoy the visit overall and next time will be doing breakfast. read more

10 out 10! My husband and I took my lovely mom to brunch. She is in a wheelchair, and you have to stand in line to order. I must say they were patient. We ordered pecan pancakes -- they were heavenly Devine. The pecans seemed to have been roasted. It was so good. They bacon was crispy. The waffles were cooked just right. Hesters has always been a favorite of mine. We came for Saturday brunch and I got the cheesy B.E.A.T. My boyfriend got the monte christi. The cheesy beat was good, but was a little soggy. If I got it again, I'd probably get a side of the queso instead of on top. However, the flavors were great. The monte christi sandwich was also really good. I loved it with the side of honey mustard. I also got an iced Hester's latte and it was perfect. It was super crowded when we came so it was kinda hard to find a place to sit and it can get pretty noisy inside when there's a ton of people there. Other times I've come I've had the Texas wave, house made granola, Hannah Savannah salad, California crab cake, and the Carmen pasta. I would recommend any of those! This is a great place to go for brunch, but expect it to take a while! read more

In town for a soccer tournament, and hungry for breakfast, the family and I googled nearby breakfast places. No chain restaurants, and something close by were the two criteria. Hester's it is. We pulled into the parking lot and strolled right in. Upon walking in, we see a quaint little cafe with a lot of patrons. Lots of folks talking, so we glanced around at the tables to see what the food looks like, and all of it looks delicious. This is a walk up to the counter, and they bring it to you sort of place. We looked at a menu and a nice fella in a Hester's shirt walked up to us and asked if we had any questions. He informed us of breakfast hours and when lunch started, and to let him know if we had questions. As we approached the counter to order, we saw a glass counter full of delectable looking desserts and cheesecakes. I was half tempted to skip breakfast and go for dessert. Eh, maybe next time. The wife ordered the Louis Armstrong, and I ordered the Duke Ellington with a griddle cake. The kiddo ordered eggs, bacon, and a "cloud cake." I asked what a cloud cake was, to which they informed me it was what they called a pancake. Wife ordered water, while the kiddo ordered a canned soda. I opted for an iced tea since it was refillable. We did not see any options for fountain drinks, so that was sort of a bummer. We returned to our table and waited for our food and conversed with our friends. The wait seemed a little longer than we had liked, but the place was busy, so no harm, no foul. Our food was delivered to our table and we got right to work. The wife was satisfied with her dish with no complaints. It was a pretty simple plate, so it was hard to mess up. My plate was delicious as well. No complaints. The kiddo enjoyed her plate as well. Only complaint was that they burnt the cloud cake. Had she not been so consumed with her conversation with her friend, I would have sent it back. She did not seemed too concerned it was burnt. That being said - it was not enough for me to deduct any stars from the visit. Next time, I will send it back, or request it not burnt when ordering. Overall, we all were pleased. Next time we are in this neck of the woods, we will return. I am going to try and go back for the cheesecake before we leave town. Highly recommend. Stop by and give them a try. Enjoy. read more

The front of house folks are nice but the food is so freaking mid. It looks fine but has NO flavor. Everything is off the mark from sandwiches (hello weird, bland chicken salad) to the pastries (non-banana tasting banana tart). Waiting for an order is torture with the overwrought praise music blasting. I've tried so many times to like it, even accepting unnecessarily long waits for food, and it is simply not worth it. read more

A cute cafe that is decent for breakfast or lunch. There is ample seating indoors or outdoors but it gets pretty packed so finding a spot or larger parties over 4 may be difficult. There is ample parking. The food is good but nothing amazing. Had a panini with avocado, bacon, tomato with chips. My mom had the chicken salad with a lemon poppy dressing. I tried the chicken salad and did not like it and my mom didn't finish it. While my good looked amazing it was just okay and I didn't finish it as well. I don't live locally so I doubt I will be back but I know my family has visited more than once. Give it a try! It's a very cute restaurant. read more

Hester's offers a truly fresh and delicious experience. I had the Texas Turbo Brownie, and it was everything you could want in a dessert--rich, fudgy, and with just the right amount of espresso to give it a nice kick. The homemade pecan praline filling on top was a perfect touch. The staff was also incredibly nice, making the visit even more enjoyable. Looking forward to coming back and trying more yummy treats! Yum! I took my daughter and 2 granddaughters to lunch at Hester's and it was simply amazing! I had the pasta, my daughter had the turkey croissant, and the granddaughters had waffles, we recommend them all! What a great little place, with great atmosphere and courtyard also. Stumbled on this place when googling places to have breakfast and the reviews mentioned it was a great place. They were not lying! As soon as you walk in the ambiance to the place is great. When looking at the menu everything was reasonably priced. The staff was very friendly and patient. On top of that the food and coffee didn't take long to get to our table and was delicious. Stopped in for breakfast/brunch @ 11a, arrived right before the lunch rush. Service was fast and friendly, offered suggestions since this was my first time here. Food was fresh, omelette was packed with plenty of crisp bacon, mushrooms, spinach and covered in a roasted red pepper sauce that added a slight smoky flavorful touch, the feta was just icing on the top. Got a single cloudcake pancake with strawberries and whip cream on the side. Meal was more than filling. My favorite place in Corpus currently. I think this place is a perfect lunch spot/ place to get a something a little sweet and everything in between. We ordered eggs Benedict with pulled pork, cubano & a lemon tart. The lemon tart was amazing, so sooo so good. My husband loves his eggs Benedict. I wasn't too thrilled with the cubano because I wanted a traditional one but this was still so flavorful. My favorite part were the potatoes, they were so flavorful. I love their half a sandwich and cup of soup lunch special and their blueberry cheesecake is TO DIE FOR!!!! They get very busy!

Came here for brunch last weekend and it was delicious! They don't take reservations so it is first come first serve for the inside and outside seating. It was pretty crowded, but the turnover for the tables is fairly quick. Once we ordered, it took about 30 min for our food to come out so we got a scone and cheesecake slice while we waited! The cheesecake was to die for- so so yummy. My husband and I both liked our dishes- I got a sandwich and he got a breakfast combo. We will be back! I do taste actual butter in Hester's scones - but sometimes the lemon extract is overwhelming. I can always tell when people use it instead of lemon juice. But if you are going to use it - less is best. If you put too much it is medicinal tasting, or taste like essential oils. read more

The food was good. I ordered the blue Jack which basically is a crab cake benedict. The crab cake had corn in it, which was interesting. The OJ tastes fresh pressed. The pecan waffles I heard were good too. Cute little cafe that was steadily busy. Lots of pastries available. Service was friendly and fairly quick. Outside patio that is dog friendly. What an unexpected find! We took a detour, and could have not been happier. Unassuming shopping center was a home to wonderful bakery with a fantastic courtyard to sit down and enjoy your meal. Nice variety of baked goods and a decent menu of brunch items. Quiche was phenomenal, and homemade granola was great. We enjoyed blueberry pancakes, and overall had a fantastic experience. A friend recommended this place. It is located in a thriving little outdoor mall with some nice upscale stores. I ordered the lunch special of a panini and wild mushroom soup. The soup had cayenne which was incongruous to the mushrooms and cream-an off note. The sandwich was more toasted than panini. There were no butter or olive oil that the sandwich was grilled in to give it that really crisp crust. The sandwich itself was bland. Partner's sandwich was crab and also lacked flavor but the tortilla soup was superior, "best he's ever had" and he's had a lot!! The desserts were outstanding. Very busy joint. Small amount of inside seating but there is also seating outside. Outside is not very shaded so during the summer it's going to be very hot. We tried a couple different things like the Monte Christi, pancakes, scrambled eggs, French toast and the garden of eaten omelette. For four individuals this appeased us all and was so yummy. We will definitely be going back. The desserts looked very appealing as well. Everyone was very nice and helpful as well. If they were open for dinner we would probably visit more often. read more
