I have been going to Stayton for about a year. My dog needed a teeth cleaning and some extractions…read morelast year. I saved $500 and got the rest from my sister. I talked to Dr. Brubaker and he agreed to let me pay half and then the rest the next month. I kept that agreement. Today, I went because my dog was not eating and I was concerned. They wanted to give her a blood test for senior dogs. They wanted to charge me $365 for the tests. I said I could pay half today and a half on Saturday when I got paid. They refused. My understanding is that the blood test was important. It was a no-go. I left feeling for my dog and I felt pretty much abandoned. We have a good record with them for paying when we agreed. I am looking for a new vet that has some flexibility. I am sad and disappointed. -Later in the day- I am happy to say that one of the front desk people called and said that there had been a mistake in the room protocol. I am not sure what that means but, I am grateful to say that they are going to do what I suggested and let me split the payments for the blood test. I am relieved and very grateful anytime I get some financial flexibility with payments of most kinds. I always try and honor my debts even if my payments are not always the way the institution I owe wants them to be. Thank you Stayton Vet Hospital. :-)

We had to put our beloved Master Chief down today. Their kindness and concern for her and us was exceptional. I highly recommend Stayton Vetinary Hospital. Truly care about what they are doing and it shows. Thank you to everyone helping us. I'll never forget the support we received. We will see them for our other pets in the future. This was our first visit.

Compassionate Care came right on time and was so kind and caring. We had time to say our goodbyes, we loved her so much and she was a really High anxiety dog, going for rides triggered her, so having someone come here was perfect. I highly recommend this establishment. Thank you.

My experience was okay…read more I made a most difficult decision to let my beloved cat go after a long weekend spent almost entirely in ER trying to figure out why he would no longer eat and why his eye was swelling shut. And an even longer two or three weeks before that fighting to get him to eat. Like others here, Kevin was closer to me than my human family. I was busy with the doctors in ER so my partner called in to make the appointment to ease my stress. He said I was primary contact, but it was difficult to make that clear all the way until the day so communications were continually going to him. Not a big deal in the overall picture, but it didn't make the experience any easier. This was my cat for 8 years before I met my partner and while he loved my baby, I was the one with the lifelong bond. The doctor showed up within the time window allotted. We both found her a little cold. I felt like we were just a job and everything was done by number. My BF picked up my cat and carried him to me, but the doctor said we should do paperwork first which resulted in me putting him down after building up to do what I deemed impossible. I was emotional and crying. This really should somehow be handled before the visit. There were corrections to be made on the form. I was about to lose my baby and this only made me aware that I was filling out his death warrant. I am utterly heartbroken. I know holding your baby until the last minute is catharsis and closure, but I found it traumatizing. His passing was peaceful at least. Everyone's goodbye will be unique, and my example will not necessarily match what others experience. Everyone we spoke to was professional. I just wasn't feeling the compassion.
