    Palestinian Rice Bowl
    Zohabe B.

Hexenbelle boasts a cool vibe and is unapologetically Pro Palestinian which I absolutely love and applaud them for. The staff was friendly, but the Palestinian Rice Bowl was grossly overpriced for what you get. This is a soft 4 star review because they deserve closer to 3 stars for food alone, but they stand for justice which is not the norm these days. The rice bowl was $17 for essentially just lentils over rice and the portion of lentils was not enough for the rice. The kafta and shawarma options looked good, so I wish I had a chance to try other things on the menu.

This place is amazing! It's very bright and open, and the decor is very tasteful. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was so good, we got the labneh and pita, the potatoes, and the breakfast and falafel pitas. Everything tasted great, the pita was super soft and fresh, the potatoes were well seasoned and the toum on top of the potatoes was strong and garlicky. Only think I'd say is that between the breakfast pita and batatas it can be a lot of potato. We will definitely be back when we come back to Traverse City!

    Breakfast pita, iced cardamom latte

I tried Hexenbelle based on a recommendation from a friend while I was in town for work. Right off the bat I love the interior, as well as the lovely outdoor patio seating. I had an iced latte and the breakfast pita, which was so yummy and filling. I liked this place so much I went back the next day! I tried the Palestinian rice bowl, which was amazing but I wish had a bit more protein. I'd asked to add falafel to it and was told I couldn't - would love that option in the future! Otherwise loved this cafe and would definitely return next time.

    Matcha strawberry

Really cute coffee shop downtown traverse! I got the strawberry matcha drink and it was everything I wanted on a summer day. It was sweet & light, tasted a little like strawberry milk. Service was a tad slow but they were busy. There is some seating inside as well as a shaded outdoor area with tables and chairs. The place is decorated beautifully and has a really good vibe. It is a little on the pricey side as well. We were looking for breakfast as well, but they didn't have standard egg sandwiches, but some middle eastern breakfast dishes that we were not adventurous enough to try.

    Shwarma pita

This was my first time visiting this restaurant. I ordered the Shawarma pita and it was beyond anything I've ever tasted. There were so many flavors in it and it exploded in my mouth and I absolutely loved it. The people working were super friendly and had my order ready for me when expected. I highly recommend Hexenbelle, it is so delicious!!

Nice friendly little cafe with Hippie and Free Palestine vibes. Open kitchen and you can taste the small batch and fresh preparations. Very cool friendly and most importantly very delicious and fresh!!!

    Latte & Tea

I was about to put 4 stars because the food took a really long time but both plates were better than expected. The latte was the best I've found in Traverse City so far, not to say there aren't close seconds but really good. All in all absolutely incredible. Will be back, highly recommend.

Love this little place inside the Warehouse district! Very vegetarian friendly. You order at the counter and they give you a little stand and will bring you your food. Sometimes a bit of wait but it's worth it!

    Hummus and pita

Honest vegetarian fair! The dishes are built around plants from the start. They don't make bad imitations of carnivore fare. NO FAKE MEAT. NO FAKE CHEESE. (Yay!!!) Most dishes are middle eastern, but not standard Lebanese. It might be Turkish or Persian. Some dishes seem to be inspired by East and Southeast Asian cuisine. I ordered the Zahra Pita, and hummus and pita to share. My companion ordered Mapo Tofu. The Zahra Pita was delicious. Fried cauliflower, picked turnips, and a nice sauce served in a fresh pita. The hummus was also very nice. Definitely not the Lebanese style hummus that you get in Detroit area. This one was flavored with Za'atar. The Mapo Tofu might be derived from a Chinese dish. It was too salty for my companion. I have an incredibly high salt tolerance, so it was OK for me, but I can handle many things that are too salty for others.

Such a cute little spot for any meal of the day, great outdoor seating, and exceptionally fresh and flavorful food. The beet plate and matcha latte were beautiful and delicious!

A modern ambiance with great service and good sized crowd. Our server was attentive and friendly and professional. They had a solid food and drink menu and we enjoyed our oysters and tuna carpaccio apps. The avocado toast was inedible. The eggs were barely cooked. The greens were plain and undressed (bitter arugula). The tomatoes were soggy. The bread was thin and untoasted, so it got soggy really quickly. The avocado was a thin consistency (maybe packaged avo?), browning, and a super thin layer. They gave me a little side of fresh berries that seemed like they were packaged for a few days (strawberries a little sketch.) They were out of almond croissants and many other pastries (10a on a tues.) You order at the counter and they bring food to you. I found a paid parking spot in the lot right in front ($1.50/hr or so). There are lots of cute seating areas so this space would have potential if they fix the food situation. The pictures on their Instagram made it look much tastier than it was :/

As an obnoxious California Bay Area coffee snob, I was blown away by this place. Really, really,…read morereally good coffee with friendly service and a cute little shop in the heart of downtown TC. As a testament to this place's service, we were actually recommended this place as a place to use the bathroom without needing to pay by a worker at a clothing store across the street. But, we smelled the delicious coffee beans and saw that they roasted their own beans in the back of the store and decided to try it. My gf said the mocha here is better than at Cat and Cloud in Santa Cruz (extremely high praise, formerly her favorite). I agreed, even as a person who prefers a latte or a cup of drip. Really smooth and creamy chocolate without the usual mocha grittiness/graininess, with a great roasty coffee flavor to balance it out. The craziest thing is C&C (or any Bay Area/NorCal coffee shop) will charge you $7-8 for a mocha. This place was less than $5! Amazing deal for some high quality, house roasted coffee.

I also have ice cream available, lots of places to sit and relax nice music playing a fireplace that I'm sure is probably really nice in the winter time.
