I went into Heyday for the first time, and was treated by Emilie. I had such a great experience, I got a traditional facial with extractions and LED light therapy. Emilie was very knowledgeable and walked me through the steps while keeping a really relaxed environment. The facial was really fluid and her touch was perfect. I wanted to like this location. I have been getting regular facials at the NoMad location for a year, and have had no issues--in fact, I have had many lovely experiences there and would recommend! I decided to try the UWS location since NoMad can be difficult to get an appointment after work. This was a mistake. Facial started off well, but the facialist was far, far too aggressive with extractions. I had a active closed comedone that I asked she not touch; instead she squeezed it extremely hard against my request. I stopped the facial as soon as she did it; the blemish bled. It ended up infected and I have an ice pick scar in the middle of my forehead as a result which the dermatologist says will be permanent. I may still go to Heyday; just not this location. read more

Love this place. This is my second time visiting. This time I went with the 75 minute facial. My biggest concern was getting rid of blackheads that I have on my nose. Ciara was so helpful in doing that so. And making this experience such a wonderful thing. That will have me telling my friends to come and receive a facial here. Plus, my esthetician no longer lives in New York so it was time for me to find a place for routine facials and tlc for my skin. Since i wanted the whole shabang i decided to buy the 75 min facial with includes comprehensive extractions and little more attention to my skin. I figured this would give me time to discuss my skin needs, problems, etc.. well this didn't really go that way. I met with Kristina. I would love if she discussed what what we doing prior to her cleansing my face, i spent the first 15 mins asking her questions and she basically answered them very vaguely. Listen, I'm a skincare junkies, I've been meticulous about my skin since 15... so going back to Kristina. She washed my face and asked me a brief questions and basically no follow through. I was hoping to meet with someone who just knows their stuff.. i didn't feel like the service was tailored to my skincare needs... I guess what I'll say is if you're looking for a simple in and out basic facial than this is your place, but you're like me who is really trying elevate your skin and looking for more attention on how to get glowy, healthy skin with skincare professional, I'll say you will be thoroughly disappointed. I paid 140.00 for a basic facial. I would been better off heading more attentive skin care spa if i knew I'd get mediocre treatment +service. read more

Overall excellent - enjoyable experience, and great outcome. Being a relatively old-fashioned male (yet 'only' in my mid-30s), it took me a little bit of time to build up the courage to get a facial. I had heard that HeyDay had just opened a store in UWS, and after learning a little more, it was time to finally bite the bullet and try one out for once and for all. The biggest draws to HeyDay were the price, facial time and ease, but also up-market nature (cleanliness etc.) or at least perception. I also took added comfort that HeyDay is focused on providing just facials, which alleviates any additional reserve I would have from walking into a greater beauty clinic (think nails, make-up etc.), and I prefer the focus on just facials, indicating staff would have greater expertise. All that being said, I decided to finally undertake the facial last night. I made the 8:30pm apt over the wkd (which was surprisingly easy to do, and suited well, in that I did not have to leave work early), and conveniently arrived 5-7mins prior my appointment. Although I had seen pictures on the website, I couldn't get over how beautifully and thoughtfully decorated and put-together the premises was, but, in saying that, there was also a warmth and therapeutic feeling to the place. My skin therapist greeted me soon after I checked in, where she brought me down to a comfy bed (sorry don't know the industry term). I quickly began to naturally relax (which I find difficult at times, as I am sure most New Yorkers can attest to) and the 115 mins went by in no time. The extractions kept me in check, as otherwise, I am sure I would have fallen asleep. Immediately afterwards, upon looking in the mirror, my cheeks had a touch pink as a result of all of the extractions (which I had wanted), but I felt relaxed, and as soon as I made it home, I was in bed and asleep within 30mins. This morning when I woke up, not alone was the sensitive pinkness gone, but my face is glowing and feels smoother than I have ever felt it before. Given my lack of 'facial experience' I obviously cannot compare and contrast, but what I can say is that I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and especially the outcome. My only regret is that I wish I had been getting facials earlier in my life, although I do feel much of my positive experience is down to HeyDay. read more

I was reluctant to use the Heyday gift certificate my sisters got me for Christmas. As a lazy male, I use whatever facial cleanser is nearby and if there isn't any, I just rub dove soap in my face and move on. I had a bit of a breakout last fall which made my sister suggest I try a facial. I booked an appointment with Lindsay D. Just based on her name popping up in some other yelp reviews. The check in process was simple and straight forward and the space is fairly relaxing. Lindsay D. Explained every step of the facial very thoroughly and I felt very at ease throughout the whole process. My coworkers made fun of me relentlessly when I said I couldn't stay for overtime because I had a facial appointment. However, my skin really cleared up afterward. It was probably from the likely horrifying build up that was removed during the extractions. I'd heard that extractions kind of hurt. They didn't feel like anything and the therapist explained that technique had a lot to do with it. That appointment was at the end of January and I haven't been back. I'm noticing some breakouts and clogged pores now at the end of May and figure it's time to go back. I'd like to go monthly but will settle for going quarterly. Hope this encourages some of the guys out there to take care of their skin. read more

I've been going to the Heyday UWS location for a while. It's in a great location (easy to get to) and my appointment always starts on time. Consistent with the Heyday brand, the location is contemporary and has more of an open concept feel (you have your own private room). My facial technician is Nikki and she is AMAZING! Ever since I've gone to her I've seen significant improvement in my skin. What's great about her is she doesn't apply a one-size fits all regimen to my skin treatment, but rather tailors the facial to the individuals skin goals/type. I have to give 0 stars because I never got a facial, despite two attempts! I booked an appointment for a Saturday morning several days in advance. The morning of, I got a call an hour before my appointment saying that the facialist was ill and they needed to cancel. A bummer, but stuff happens and they offered a free add-on. I was rescheduled for the following Saturday at 10am. I showed up on time, the receptionist had me fill out the new client forms, and when I was done she said the facialist was a few minutes late. I got a weird feeling from her, and asked exactly how late the facialist was. When she said she'd have to check and started calling and texting someone who didn't repond, I didn't think this would turn out well. Sure enough, the receptionist asked me to come back at 12:15. Nope, I have stuff to do. I told her this was not a good first impression and suggested she comp my facial and reschedule me for another day. She agreed, but my next opportunity was another week away, and I had no confidence Heydey would come through for me (she also never offered another Heydey location). They need to work out their staffing. read more

This was my first time trying HeyDay i had a 50 minute facial and I had an amazing experience. The skin therapist i saw was Cindy and she was so knowledgeable and sweet. She made some recommendations on what to use and what not to use. She didn't force me to get some products but suggested i should try them. She also gave me two samples to use because i also got microdermabrasion and it would help me afterwards. I loved my experience and would highly recommend seeing Cindy and going to HeyDay. read more

I went here for the convenience since it is a block from where I live and the positive reviews. Honestly I would not recommend this place, my skin looks exactly the same as when I went in. I got a 50 min facial and a peel totalled about $145. Basically the whole facial was just applying products to my face such as masks and serums which I can do at home. She did extractions with a metal tool that just pressed on my face instead of her hands and using a needle so it basically did nothing. The peel was not strong at all so not worth the money. The place I normally go to does SO much more...oxygen, micro, stronger peel , extensive extractions, lights, serums mask all in an hour. At this place they tell you, you cannot do micro and peel. Not sure why bc the peel was not strong at all. If you want to have a relaxing experience then this is a good place, but if you want to improve your skin this is not the place. read more

I absolutely loved my experience here. The treatment I got was with Kristina, who is a professional therapist. I normally freak out when I need to let someone do the deep cleaning and extractions- she did a great job, my skills n reacted really well to the products she used. Previously at other SPAs breakouts after facials were an unfortunate yet regular thing for my skin, however my face looked great and the skin looked good both on the day of the facial (had it in the morning and had to work all day afterwards) and the next day. Moreover before I knew it I received a follow up email with recommendations on the product and further treatment, bought a couple of products that also worked out really well. What else can I add - I enjoyed my experience. A super comfortable and cozy atmosphere is also like a cherry on top of the cake! read more

As an esthetician, I'm very conscious of how I treat my skin especially during the cold NYC months. Today Kristina hooked MY FACE UP with a 50 min treatment that left me feeling super hydrated & clean! My favorite part was the micro current device she used to deeply penetrate a hydrating mask since she mentioned that my cheeks needed more love. Her touch was gentle yet effective while walking me thru each and every product she used which was music to my ears. This space is beautiful, and the staff is so kind. That said, I woke up the next morning, COMPLETELY broken out, with my skin looking about 10X worse than it did when I came in the evening prior. At risk of sounding annoying, my skin for the most part has zero issues ( i had a couple of small breakout zones on my nose and chin, and some serious dryness following a lot of flying, including a 15 hour flight to Hong Kong). The next morning I had tiny bumps all over my cheeks, forehead and chin, with huge red bumps around my nose from where the Aesthetician performed extractions -- this is not normal..... The reason i got a facial on Monday night was for an event on Friday evening, understanding the necessary downtime and normal day or two of irritability (Legally Blonde 2, anyone?). However the result is far from what I've ever experience post faciall, and my skin is much worse for the wear. I frequently get facials, and have a monthly membership at Bliss. I was hoping to move over to Heydey, as it's closer and cheaper, but after this experience, I cannot imagine returning. read more
