Went to hg today after talking to Neema about exhuast and tunes for months . Due to dealer ship giving me trouble and them doing false advertisement but thats another story... Anyway so Neema and his crew hooked me up by installing my x pipe on my m3 and reloading a tune that was said to come with car (dealer ship scums) so that i could run the car right he even got the tune for me at no charge . This place is very trustworthy and honest i would highly recommend coming here nothing but professionalism also i was there early and they had a food truck come by make sure you get the sausage eggs and cheese bagel lol. First let me say that I'm incredibly picky when it comes to who is going to touch my car. I toured a few places in San Diego (won't mention them by name) and HG was the only one that passed. I have a brand new 2015 GTR which I had converted to flex fuel and a complete exhaust installed with a tune to finish. They also out on some diffuser fins, after market flappy paddle shift levers, and some other things. Job well done. I expect my parts to not be lying around on the ground, mechanics to wear gloves and change them when touching interior parts of my car, and for the vehicle to come back looking as good if not better than when I left. Dieter and his boys take care of you with the white glove service. Some of you may not care about that but you'll get it as a bonus when you take you car to be serviced or modified. My GTR now has 690HP and is a Ferrari killer. I won't take my cars anywhere else. My wife's E63 AMG is next on the list and I refer everyone I know to them. I went and toured HG Motorsports with a friend who had work done there before. Daniel took me on a shop tour. I was very impressed right away. So I decided to let them upgrade my 14 GT-R to the HG 700 hp package. The car now drives and sounds amazing. This is how Nissan should have sold the car from the factory! My experience is that Daniel and John are very knowledgeable and will go the extra mile to take care of you. I dropped off the car and picked it up a few days later a completely different beast, exactly like I wanted it. I didn't have to do anything, just show up and drive it. I must have asked a million questions and both were extremely patient with me and explained everything in detail. John, the tech working on my car, is a former GT-R Tech. To become a GT-R tech, first you have to become a Nissan Master tech, hold all 8 ASE certs, and then go through the GT-R certification process. This is a major feat. HG has 1 more GT-R tech than most Nissan dealerships in the area. No wonder they have a constant stream of GT-Rs there. I was on travel while they worked on my car, and I needed to pick up a part from nissan, so John went and picked up the part from Nissan for me. That is service! I also like the fact that they have an AWD dyno and can custom tune the car. I was a bit weary of e-tuning, and having the ability to custom tune removed that fear completely. I was looking to buy an ESS tune for my 2010 M3, and came across HG Motorsports online. I was surprised to see that they were authorized dealers to so many BIG names in the industry such as HRE, Dinan, Brembo, Adv.1, and ESS just to name a few. So I called them up and spoke to Chris who was very knowledgable in tuning and got me a price which was much less than anywhere else I looked. After I drove over and they installed the tune for me, the car ran great! I was really impressed with the product, but more so with their customer service. At that time my car was filthy, and Chris wouldn't let me drive off without giving my car a good handwash (for free!). Also, while my car was being tuned, I had a parking sticker stuck between my dashboard and windshield in a very tight spot. Dieter spent a good 15 minutes trying to get it out for me and wouldn't give up. This might seem insignificant, but the customer service at this place goes beyond what is normal. Oh and did I mention they did the installation (which takes a few hours) for free? If you have a car you want to modify and leave in trustworthy hands, this is the place! read more

Finally a performance shop and tuner that can do almost anything you can dream of!!! My dream was a car that was stupid fast but also quiet. Normally the 2 do not go hand in hand. So I have had the stupid fast part covered but it was also stupid loud and if you stood behind the car for long the exhaust fumes would give you lung cancer in a few min. Air quality coming out of the back of the car and if I had the windows down in the car the pollution was similar to China. My wife hated riding in the car because of the exhaust fumes and it also was nearly impossible to talk on the phone inside the car because it was soooo loud. Other shops had told me I had an impossible dream and they did not want to try and solve my problem but then I met Dieter. Dieter said no problem I will make if quieter and FASTER. I thought to myself, no way is he going to make it faster and quieter. I was not even asking for faster just same as it was but quieter. Thinking this was some kind of sales pitch I made him put that in writing with a guarantee. So HGMS set out to build a 100% custom turbo back exhaust. After about 2 weeks I go to pick up my car and what do you know it is 14% faster and quiet enough to talk on the phone inside the car and now it is running with not just 1 cat but 2, so the air coming out of the car is just as clean as the air going in. Who says you cannot go "green" and go fast :) William Knose did the tuning there and the car now pulls like a beast. Not only does the dyno show the improved power it also shows the car pulling harder over a larger rpm range. William Knose is about as good as they get when it comes to tuning. I have also had them work on an M3 and Ferrari 360. Just a first class team of people that can do almost anything. read more

After they looked at it they brought me in the garage and told me my camber arms were bad which was true then they told me all my suspension went out. I picked up my 2015 Z/28 and started taking it to the track. I soon realized that it needed to be modified to better suit track driving. I took it to HG and couldn't have been more impressed or happier with experience. They installed slicks, a 4 point roll bar, race seats and belts, complete race fluids and track set up. I had an absolutely horrible experience at HG Motorsports. After removing the engine of my car, they decided that they were not interested in putting the replacement engine (which I procured) into the car. They basically abandoned the job and told me to pick up my engine-less car, the two engines and have it hauled to another shop. On top of this, they charged me $2,000 to put me in this predicament!! I will never, ever, never set foot, or spend another dime at this place. The longer version: The engine in my AMG E63 blew up, probably as a result of the crap headbolts AMG used. I brought the car to HG for a diagnosis. They found a broken piston, cracked rod etc. and recommended that I either spend $20K on a brand new engine, or find a used one as a replacement. They recommended a source for a used replacement engine, but after reading the reviews of this outfit, I decided to source it elsewhere. I found a replacement engine and had it shipped to HG. Once it arrived, it was not an E63 engine, but rather from an SL63, which necessitates switching over the oil pan and front cover. Now, HG tells me that to switch over the front cover, they need to pull the heads (which the other shop did not have to do...) and that they are not going to finish this project. They extorted $2K from me to release the car so that I could bring it to a competent shop to have this project finished. In the end I was able to locate a wonderful and very competent shop in Escondido who finished everything up in a little over a week and I'm now driving the car, in spite of HG Motorsport's incompetence and disastrous customer service.
