I'm disappointed to write this because I've had good experiences here before. I came in Tuesday at 1 PM after finding a large piece of metal stuck in my tire, only four days after buying brand new tires. While at the shop, I noticed multiple chunks of metal on the floor. When I mentioned it, staff said it was their own materials that sometimes end up in the street, which is concerning. I was able to replace the tire, but had to repurchase the warranty. These guys are completely shady. The last two times we've brought tires in to be rotated they've tried to sell us new tires. The first time my wife brought the car in for a tire rotation less than 10k miles after we bought the tires. The second time my son brought a different car in less than a year after buying tires. They actually showed him tires from an entirely different vehicle!!! Do not buy your tires from here. A separate time they left a huge scratch on the drivers side seat. I went to the wrong location and was late for my FREE tire rotation, but Alejandro was chill and I was able to get in & out around 30 mins which I appreciated. What I didn't appreciate was I asked for the tires to be filled to 42 and they filled them up to 35. All the tires were inflated to a different number which drives me crazy. Ended up getting two new in front but price was more than a couple of other spots but they had tires in stock. Had towed over already so I went with them. They did get it done in a good time so I am pleased. Last time coming to this location was bad, bad, bad as far as the front of store customer service. These guys are the best! This location has superb customer service. They always make me feel like a valued customer and go the extra mile for all their clientele. I've been here for tire rotation and to get a tire patched. Both times there was no charge and they were so kind. Their wait times have always been accurate as well - about 20 minutes for the tire rotation and about 1 1/2 hours to fix the leaking tire. The store is tucked behind another business so it might be a little tricky to find the first time but the proximity to the freeway is super convenient. Like shockingly nice. This morning I got in my car and it said flat tire. I thought maybe the tire was just low on air, nothing massive. Got to work and saw the nail. I always go to discount tire but usually the one in Escondido but I work in Vista. This one was the closest anyway I get there. Everybody is super nice. They checked my tire, sprayed some water on the tire and yep it's got a leak. The guy tells me 6:20 PM and I was out of there at exactly 620. FREE, 2 nails... I had just had my car looked at nearby at a repair shop. They let me know there was a nail in my tire and that it looked like it could be repaired. I took it to Discount Tire since it was close by. They were pretty busy and they told me it might be about an hour for my car to be looked at. They have a waiting area with plenty of seating. They pulled my car in one a spot opened, were able to repair the tire, and brought it back out to me in approximately the 1 hour with no cost! I had called and made an appointment to get my RV tires checked and add extensions before I went on my trip. Was told I didn't need an appointment. Service person did not seem very Pleased with adding the extensions. I had to reiterate several time for him to secure the extension as it would bang the rim when driving. It seems he was not happy about doing the work or maybe because I'm a female. I didn't see him check the rear and front tires pressure after he was done adding the extension but he said he was did. After he said he forgot to check the front tire pressure. If he would have checked the rear I wouldn't have had all four rear tires flat after I took the Rv home. I was in a bind with all 4 tires totally flat. If they had an issue servicing a female or adding extensions they should have mentioned it when I had called them for the appointment. Tried emailing them about how I have a jack stand dent on my skirt car since I bought I've done all my own work myself emailed them to ask if they had pictures before and after of my vehicle with no reply I'm not saying I wasn't happy with the price and service just the fact that damage was done and I got no response or even questioning was asked on their part just brush off the shoulder it sucks cuz I can't trust this shop to treat my care with care or even respond. Damage is done and by the time I found out and responded I feel like I'm out of luck now I have to fix it myself or pay out of pocket a big fee now I can't trust these guys take picture of where they lift your car up before hand or watch them especially for gti r you have to lift them in a certain way. He clearly communicated with me & they had a well-kept bathroom and waiting room. I came in for a fire patch come to find out my tire separated so 13 days before Christmas as a single mom I had to purchase a tire... after going between driving on a spare from 07 or dropping close to 200 on a tire for the safety of my son and I, I put my card down to pay for a tire. Discount tire is better than Costco in many ways. Not all Discount Tire locations are the same, but I'm happy to say that the San Marcos location is better than Escondido. The Escondido location used to be my go to location for tires but the last few times their service quality was poor.. So when I needed four new tires I called this location instead. They had plenty of open appointments and the check-in was easy. Their office was ice-cold on a hot morning. Took them less than an hour to get me back on the road again. A few suggestions when calling about tires. When I called they first tried to sell me the most expensive ones.. Be sure to ask for other options. Also, before I called this location I checked their website and it said they had 8 tires of the size / brand I was looking for. When I called to make an appointment they said they had none of what I wanted and that the website is always wrong. That's kinda lame.. They were good a decade ago. But over the past five or so years, they can't seem to balance tires to save their lives. I don't think they care if it's good or not - just do it quickly and get it over with. This is across 4 different vehicles, and multiple sets of tires. They'll give you the car with a 3 or 4 ounce out of balance on at least one tire. Then I go back and tell them they screwed up again, and they'll fix the worst one, but if it's off an ounce or two, they don't care. No one tire is ever right on the money, so you're always getting annoying vibrations on the highway. I paid for their certificates, which entitles me to free balancing, but that's worthless. I finally went to Tony across the street at CMT, and paid him to rebalance the tires. I've gone there with multiple vehicles now, and he does the job extremely well. But think about that - the shop that sold them was so negligent about balancing them, I have to pay someone else to get it right. read more
