The owner does not take responsibility for her mistakes. I have only been once to this cleaners, and was excited to find one with such good reviews. I dropped of a romper that was white to have the armpits cleaned, as well as a small stain on the front. I had only worn it once. There were flat studs lining the bottom of the garment. When I got it back, they had used chemicals to clean the entire piece, which had melted the glue under the studs and made it run. Half had fallen off, and the rest had bright yellow glue (now hardened) seeped into the fabric. When I pointed this out, I was given the following justifications by the owner: 1) The missing studs were already missing when I dropped it off (lie). 2) You can't really see the glue anyway (yes you can- it's bright yellow next to stark white). 3) The garment is bad quality for gluing studs on, rather than sewing them (irrelevant). 4) The place they send stuff out to offsite did this, and it's not their direct fault (irrelevant). 5) Her employees should have never accepted it since it was glued on (I had given it to her directly, so I don't know why she started throwing her employees under the bus). I was very calm the entire time and finally the owner agreed to see if she could get the glue off and replace the studs. When I came back, she was unable to and was still very reluctant to take responsibility for her mistake, insisting I should have never brought it in despite her happily accepting it originally. I refused to leave until she paid me the full price of the garment ($80), and she refused to pay me unless she could keep it (I assume to take it to the actual cleaning facility and demand they cover the cost). She ended up paying me but was very unhappy, despite the fact she ruined my item. It was a very unpleasant and disappointing experience to have to *argue* why she should own up to her mistakes. I've honestly never had a problem with this place. Everything is always exactly how I ask for it to be. The girl that works the front desk isn't the friendliest, but she's not rude either; just very nonchalant which seems to be her personality but as long as they keep dry cleaning and altering my clothes the way I love it, I will always be back! read more

I was recommended this cleaners by a male colleague. He was able to have two long-sleeve formal button up shirts dry cleaned for a grand total of $3.25. The following day I drop off my four tank tops for a whopping $18.32!! When asked why the pricing was not the same as my colleague's, the lady said that men's shirts were $1.49 and women's were $3.99! I then asked if she had this in writing that I could take with me and she said no. The lady was very nice, but for $18.32 I could have walked across the street and had a feast at Fuzzy's. Love this place, usually take all my dry cleaning here for a fair price but then I started getting my alterations here and they are great! They slimmed and hemmed my suit pants. I also took them a pair of white jeans with whiskey and coke stains and they got them out! Every time I go to them with something they have managed to fix or clean it so highly recommend it. After moving to Houston I was looking for a new dry-cleaner and decided to give Hi Cleaners a try. They certainly did not disappoint. They probably aren't the cheapest in the area, but I figure you get what you pay for. Nonetheless, they did an excellent job on my clothes. I gave them a number of items including long sleeve shirts, short sleeve shirts, slacks and jeans and they were all done right. My clothes came out clean and pressed properly, and they were ready on schedule. The only reason I'm not giving them 5 stars is because I did not see pricing information displayed in their shop. Right service, right price, good location. Did all my dry cleaning for a reasonable price. I brought my old wedding dress to be cleaned after I got some mold from bad storage, and they explained my options. Given that the dress has more sentimental value than anything else, and the laundering was going to be expensive I decided not to get it done at all and just discard it. However I loved that the people where upfront and honest about what it would have cost to do this, and had no problem when I decided not to go ahead and clean it. When I came to pick up the rest of the laundry the net day, the owner helped me put the clothes in the car as I had my hands full with my kid. Really super nice service. read more

Been a customer for a few years now. Can't complain about the service, but I suggest removing your collar stays or you won't see them again. Two of the places I used prior to Hi Cleaners would take them out and give them back to me, but the first time I went to HC, my collar stays were forever lost. They also seem to have a hard time getting military style shirts perfectly pressed, but you get what you pay for. For the price, I am happy with Hi Cleaners. read more

Terrible. I had been going to Hi Cleaners for over a year. I was happy with their service in the beginning. For the last six months I was going there I was noticing a wrinkle problem. I kept addressing it and finally asked them to repress two shirts I was picking up. They did one and I gave them the second pointing out a stain and asked them to redryclean the item and the owner just handed me back the shirt and said we'll just refund you. Like she really didn't care. She has known my face from my being in so often. They didn't even give me the full amount refund. They refunded me for LAUNDERING. I had be feeling like my shirts were fading and some polos were starting to pill. I thing they had be laundering all my clothes and charging me for dry cleaning. I don't know any owners that would be so cavalier about loosing a client. I'm furious at Hi Cleaners. Never again. read more

Dry cleaning has been expensive, so I've been shopping around. Hi Cleaners is not cheap. They charged $6 to do a small repair on a sweater, which I suppose is OK, but $3.99 for a shirt that just needs laundering and crisp pressing is too much. Yes, the job was well done, but too expensive. Also, the parking is very limited, which usually is not a problem, but if you're parking challenged, pulling in and out could be a problem. read more

Like I've seen in other reviews the parking and busy entrance from W Gray if you're headed west (away from downtown) can be daunting. With that being said.. Resurrected a pair of jeans that had a tear in one side of the groin. She also patched the other side saying that it would eventually go too and I'd be back, so she might as well do it all at once. DO NOT USE THIS CLEANERS. I took a brand new (out of the package) white polo button-down shirt, and a new (worn once) white Brooks Brothers shirt, and both came back yellowed. They tried to tell me that the shirts were purchased that way, then accused me of trying to cheat them. I compared the polo button-down to another I bought at the same time (took it out of the package in front of them), and they still tried to tell me I bought two different colored shirts. Also, they took all the collar stays out of my shirts, did not put them back, then tried to give me stays that go with other brands or do not fit my shirts because they "lost" the ones taken from mine. Overall a terrible experience, and would recommend sending business elsewhere. read more

Came in for alterations on new jeans and shirt. The owner (I assume) greeted me promptly and was very friendly. She sized me up and marked the changes. The "dressing room" is the corner of the cleaners closed off by curtains. My shirt was darted and slimmed in the sleeves, which was $31. The jeans legs were hemmed and the waist taken in which was $35. The jeans came out perfect and the shirt was great except for the sides which came to me frayed and unsewn. I had her redo them, which she did no problem. Not sure I would bring anything back for alteration unless it's minor. All in all it was ok. The dry cleaning service is fantastic though. The parking lot not so much. It really is a pain. Might try again in the future. read more

Went in to get some alterations for my suit and a dress shirt. I needed them taken in. The price here was fair and the quality of the alterations were fantastic. I tried getting pricing from other places in the area and some wanted to charge FIVE times as much. I understand the need to pay for quality service but some places were outrageous. TERRIBLE SERVICE AND TERRIBLE QUALITY, the only thing that made me come here in the first place was the price, however after receiving my shirts smelling HORRIBLE AND SHRUNK, It is not worth it. I have only been to this cleaners once and I truly had a terrible experience. I dropped off 10+ shirts in which I received all of them promptly with a very noticeable smell, not only the smell but after further inspection I noticed that one of my shirts had shrunk around 2 inches! I had only worn it once so I was very bothered that it had been shrunk. Since I paid for DRY CLEANING, it seemed odd that a shirt that had not been in contact with water would shrink. After speaking with the owner, she tried to justify what had happened to the shirt and insisted that I leave the shirt for her to make it longer. After coming back 3 times to see if the shirt had been fixed, she said that it was not her fault and that the shirts are not made the same size. Even though I brought the exact same shirt for her to compare, she said it was close enough. Not for me. On one of the visits, one of the employees offered me a refund as she clearly saw the shrinkage, however she needed approval from her boss. When I went back and asked the owner for a refund she replied, "we will see," then finally saying no. After countless arguments and stress, she never refunded me and now I am left with a shirt I wore once that no longer fits and is longer on one side than the other and tighter on the arms. I was very calm the entire time while I was expressing my frustration and the owner was very reluctant to take responsibility for her mistake, insisting that cloth tends to shrink (not in DRY CLEAN). After paying to have my clothing dry cleaned all I received was 3 or 4 wasted drives/time going back to check the shirt and no acceptance of wrong doing, despite the fact she ruined my item. It was a very unpleasant and disappointing experience to have to argue with this lady. Instead of keeping a customer happy, she has just lost one. I am definitely finding another cleaner which can do a simple job correctly who will not ruin my clothes and argue with a paying customer! 1- I left around 15 shirts to be dry cleaned. 2- I came back and picked them up, took them home where I noticed the smell. 3- The smell took my attention so I opened the plastic to smell the shirts when I noticed that one shirt had shrunk so much it looked like a childs shirt. 4- I went back to the cleaners in which I brought a shirt I have which is the exact same brand and size to compare the shirts in which It was evident that the shirt had shrunk around 2 inches at the bottom and 1 inch on the arms. 5- I went back several times and was told by one of the employees that I would be refunded while the owner tried to fix it, after speaking with the owner again I was told I would not be refunded and that the shirt was "okay." 6-I do not pay to have my shirts shrunk and then stretched and then shrunk again, all I wanted was for my shirts to be dry cleaned correctly. Not have to go through the hassle of driving back and forth while arguing with the owner. After all the shirt had been worn once, I took it to have dry cleaned, it was their fault that the shirt shrunk, why would I have the entire burden? I would have been happy with a refund however the owner did not think that way and I was left with a terrible experience. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!! read more

They did clean my blazer with care. There is a badge on the blazer, many of my friends who have the same blazer got their badge dye with the blazer color when dry cleaning at the other cleaners. But thankfully mine is fine and $6 for one blazer is totally a great reasonable price. Definitely comeback to them. read more

After having 4 dress shirts returned to me with rips under the arm I can't go back. I see there are other reviews with the same problem. The shirt I tried to put on yesterday had rips on both sides. It was a Charles Tyrwhitt that had only been laundered 3 times previously. Upon closer inspection the shirt had been ripped before and mended without telling me. read more

For the most part I really enjoy coming to Hi Cleaners for my dry cleaning. It's a good location for anyone not wanting to venture far from midtown. The clothes come back super shiny after they've been cleaned! The only thing that bothers me about this place is how they safety pin my nice business skirts to a clothes hanger. I would prefer if my clothes weren't punctured with holes! All in all they provide a good, straight forward service. read more
