Very delicious sushi. High quality flavors. Quite impressed with this small mom and pop shop

I ordered takeout for my husband's birthday and they absolutely crushed it. My husband's favorite roll, a California roll topped with salmon and a thin slice of lemon, was not even on the menu. The manager and Chef Devin happily made it anyway and were incredibly accommodating. The food was outstanding from start to finish. The sashimi was so fresh and perfectly prepared it practically melted in my mouth. The rolls were huge, beautifully made, and bursting with flavor. They rival some of the best sit down sushi spots in the area. If you want top notch sushi with a staff that truly cares, Hi Sushi is the place. A big thank you to everyone at Hi Sushi for making the night extra special. I will definitely choose them for any of my catering needs!

An amazing place to eat if you're looking for sushi and/or various other eastern Asian dishes. Despite its lack of fancy exterior, the food was very delectable and presentable. Staff was very friendly and kindly helped a friend of mine with pronunciation.

Ok, hear me out. This place is like if a winchell's donuts from back in the day sold half its space (which is not big) to a sushi place. AND both are open still. The gyoza were fried to perfection dumplings. For those that like Yakki mahndoo it was like real Korean yakki. The "Hi Sushi roll" was a fantastic specialty roll with shrimp tempura in it. And yes to complete the experience, I finished with a blueberry frosted donut. . Delicious but no idea why it's all together.

Coming from the East Coast, I know good sushi and I haven't found any that I love either in Cheyenne or Ft.Collins. I've been craving sushi and I did not want to pay Wasabi prices. Bejo left the membrane in my shrimp when I had the tempura roll there (never.again), so I was really debating on trying a new place. 100% worth it! Hi sushi is hands down the best sushi I've had here! It's not expensive, it tasted fresh, my shrimp was cleaned! I ordered delivery and they forgot a roll and quickly delivered the forgotten roll. The people were so friendly about it too! I truly believe this place is a hidden gem. I will not get my sushi anywhere else in Cheyenne! So good! So worth it! Best sushi in town!

The fountain and bamboo shoots framing the back wall of the bar really pull the place together in a way that you don't find in many other areas of Wyoming. Love it. That is about where the positives end. Remember how I said the ambiance was good? That's true, except for the God-awful music choice that was absolutely blasting over our heads. This isn't some boomer-level complaint about how pop music has degraded into slop AI could recreate either. I enjoyed several of the songs. I'm talking about theme, which whoever sets up the music here seems to have forgotten they work at a sushi restaurant and not the run-down Wendy's down the street. Please, for the love of God, change the station or playlist or whatever to something actually appropriate for the space. I beg you. Pretty much every other aspect about this place desperately needs a revamp and soon. The service was subpar not because of rude waitstaff or neglect, but professionalism is sorely lacking. The bar is treated as a personal hangout space, some employees are uniformed and clean while others are wearing personal clothing that range from ratty to ragged. The tables aren't set properly at all; in our experience here, an order of gyoza was not received with serving plates or chopsticks, which were never offered to begin with. At any sushi restaurant, chopsticks are kind of an obvious inclusion and yes, even people white as ghosts such as myself sometimes possess the dexterity required to manipulate two pieces of wood properly to eat with. The prices are something to be desired given the portions. Feeling somewhat adventurous, we also ordered one of the signature rolls which had a whopping 6 pieces totaling almost twenty dollars. It was plated in a way so gaudy and tacky I could think Gordon Ramsey would have something to say about it Kitchen Nightmares style. We cut it short after that. Overall, it's evident to me at least that this location was decimated by COVID in 2020 and has kept to go and DoorDash orders as its lifeline and will never truly recover into becoming a proper restaurant such as expected of current society. A damn crying shame, as there really is a lot of potential to be known as a local secret spot you'd have to dig for.

When we got in there we asked if the cowgirl roll and the jalapeño bloom were ready (we didn't use a name at the counter this is important). If we do the math 15% of 28.60=4.29 28.60+4.29=32.89 This was unacceptable as my girlfriend had already tipped in cash and this clearly wasn't a standard fee associated with takeout as the manager had to refund me in cash. It's a damn shame to have such a great restaurant ruined because of personal greed of front of house. 3 employees were giggling as they swiped my card, and went dead silent the second I asked for the manager who told us there were two Emma orders(we never used our name so that was BS). I asked for take out and was given a small cardboard take out container that was divided with 3 places for food. When I asked for take out, the guy at the counter handed me the container and told me "No steak!" What irritated me was that he watched me as I went through to get my food (the register is near the buffet line) as if I was going to try to sneak some steak into my plate. There was a good selection of food. I picked up a little of several items. Since I read the reviews, I added some General Tso's chicken. My mistake was that I saw some red jello in the salad bar and had a craving for jello, so added it to my plate. When I went to pay, the guy opened my container, just to make sure I didn't take steak. When I handed him the money, there was not a thank you or smile. When I got back to my hotel room, I opened the container and the jello had melted all over my food! I hardly ate anything, nothing really tasted good, except for the General Tso's chicken. Suggestion to the restaurant - offer a small container for jello or cold things. It can still fit inside the take out container, but would help to keep things from running together. If I do go back, I'll skip the jello and load up on the General Tso's chicken.

Avoid This Buffet - A Sad Excuse for Chinese Food…read more I'm honestly struggling to find anything positive to say about my experience here. I've given buffets the benefit of the doubt before, but "China Buffet" was a new low. The entire meal felt like a lesson in disappointment. Let's start with the food quality, or lack thereof. Nothing tasted fresh. The eggrolls were limp and soggy, like they'd been sitting under a heat lamp for hours. The sweet and sour chicken and other fried items had completely lost their crunch, becoming a chewy, greasy mess. It's a cardinal sin for fried food to be soggy at a buffet. The issues didn't stop there. Several of the hot dishes, like the lo mein and a beef stir-fry, were barely lukewarm. Even more concerning, some of the meat items, particularly the pepper steak, had an "off" taste that made me think they were old and had been sitting out far too long. I took one bite and left the rest on my plate. My advice to the owner is simple: Focus on quality and freshness over quantity. It doesn't matter how many dishes you have if none of them are appetizing. The staff should be constantly checking the buffet lines--stirring food, replenishing items with fresh batches, and most importantly, throwing away food that has been sitting out for hours. Just because the restaurant was slow during my visit doesn't mean it's acceptable to serve old, unappetizing food. I really wanted to like this place, but I won't be returning. Save your money and your stomach; there are much better options out there. One last thing, get rid of your ice cream freezer, it looks like that's where you put all the dead body parts.
