There are no words to express how much I appreciate Mr. Steiner and all the guys at this company!…read more When you move to a community, you always wonder what kind of relationships you will forge. We have lived in River Falls for over 31 years now and Steiner's have been our go-to for plumbing and heating for nearly all of those years! Recently, my son purchased a home in Hastings, MN. I was trying to find a local electrician to install 3 new ceiling fans but found it difficult to find an electrician to return my calls. When one finally did, he was going to charge me $2600 for install 3 fans which I had already purchased!! I called Mr. Steiner to ask if that was a reasonable cost and he told me it wasn't. He then offered to talk to his son, Matt, and they would put their heads together and see what they could come up with! He called me back and Chris, one of his MN licensed electricians, came out just 3 days ago and put those fans in for me! THANK YOU! I know I can never say it enough! If you need plumbing or electrical/heating, call Steiner's! Mr. Steiner, Matt, Joe, Kevin and Monica and Trish in the office are amazing to talk to and work with!

We shopped around and ultimately selected Steiner to install a new boiler for an old baseboard…read moreradiator system. It seemed fine at first, but had issues maintaining pressure. We had them come out the first time to adjust it, for a fee of course, and were reassured it was totally normal. The next time it happened we called a different place that thought the whole thing was installed strangely an didn't really want to work on it. We had Steiner come back the next time the pressure dropped again and this time the guy kept chatting us up while doing the repair and then stood around talking about the history of boilers, etc. Little did I know he would then charge us for that full time - in addition to the drive to and from their office, which happens to be 30 min away. Of course they had never mentioned this service fee when installing the system, but now we're expected to pay almost an hour of labor for them to show up to fix a chronic problem with their own system. Most recently I had come up with a solid guess of a minor issue with the switch for our zones. I called and explained what I thought the problem was, they came to service it, and I told the tech exactly what I thought was wrong. He quickly ruled that out and then went on a wild goose chase checking thermostat programming and batteries before realizing it was actually the controller I had asked him to look at and replaced the $120 part. Weeks later I get a bill for almost $450 claiming 2 hours of work PLUS a $40 service fee. I had carefully written down exactly when the tech texted, arrived, and left and it was 90 minutes tops. I waited 2 months to get a response to my emailed complaint, which was basically: nope. So, we are definitely done with Steiner and unless you live in River Falls WI I would not recommend. Much better value in MN HVAC contractors.

I purchased a solar hot water system from Energy Concepts and could not be more pleased. Energy…read moreConcepts is the rare combination of passion and technical expertise and the final product I purchased from them demonstrates their genuine concern for the environment and their commitment to world-class design and installation. Adding a solar system that runs from the roof to the basement of a 3 story, 40-year-old house is no small feat. I was prepared to make some compromises in aesthetics. Thanks to Energy Concepts, no compromises were necessary. They treated my house as if it were a brand new million-dollar mansion and took no short cuts. The final product is impressive, effective and, unless one looks for it, almost invisible. The system is well engineered, high-tech and yet elegant in its simplicity. It's also designed and installed for years of carefree service. A generation from now, whoever lives here will still be savoring the knowledge that they are doing their part in using renewable energy. Since our system went in, I now feel a sense of participation and pride when I see the sun hitting the attractive collectors on our roof. Seeing this simple sight gives me a new found sense of connection to our world that I've captured a small sliver of the solar energy opportunity falling on my house and stored it in the form of not water in my basement. Last evening I had 80 gallons of 170-degree water in our storage tank. When my teenage daughters take their long, hot showers they now know exactly where the energy came from for that privilege. This system not only keeps them happy, it teaches them that it's not enough to worry about the worlds energy and environmental issues, we all have to do our part. I can't recommend Energy Concepts highly enough. Their engineering, design, customer service and installation expertise is matched only by their passion for helping consumers produce their own power. They delivered far beyond my expectations and were well versed in current state and federal incentives. Whoever lives in my house 40 years from now will be as grateful to Energy Concepts as I am right now on this beautiful, sunny spring day.

My spouse and I were working in the yard when a salesperson approached and commented on our work. We're interested in solar panels, but knew we wouldn't be taking on that project at the time -- maybe in 1-2 years. We thanked him for stopping by and politely declined, letting him know we'll keep them in mind for the future. He became really pushy and aggressive, walking further onto our property. We continued to decline, more forcefully, and eventually asked him to leave our property -- he still continued to cycle (and re-cycle) through his script, at least 4-5 times, and didn't begin to exit until we suggested involving the police for trespassing. The encounter was incredibly disrespectful, unnerving, and dehumanizing. We will never use Everlight and will actively discourage any friends and neighbors from using their business. Note: he also tried to tell us about rebates and programs with our electric company, but he had incorrect information. We were aware of the options and programs in our area since we had been curious about solar. However, he insisted his info was right (dispite not even knowing the correct electric company). In hindsight, it's concerning that he may have misled homeowners about programs and savings that aren't actually available to them.

I had to threaten to call the authorities in order to have him leave my home. This type of act is completely disgusting. I then contacted their company and politely requested to talk to management, but the nice receptionist told me that management was there but wouldn't allow me to speak with them. I explained to her the reason for my call and urged her that this type of aggression shouldn't be overlooked. I have kids in the house and for him to completely disregard our disinterest in their service and practically break into my home is a concerning issue. I also asked the receptionist to give me the first name of the man but said she doesn't have that information... I urge anyone who's unfortunate enough to have this company (Everlight Solar) approach their home to avoid speaking to them.
