Hi Trend I found Hi Trend Hawaii as I was looking for a boutique that was able to replace my lens for my Sama frames. I love my Sama frames. Have not heard of Sama before? Go figure since it is not a common brand that is sold in Hawaii. Hi Trend is the only location on Oahu that services and sells Sama frames. Finding Hi Trend is a little challenging in the Hilton Hawaiian Village. To find the boutique, go to the Tapa tower and it is located next to the ABC store. Bong was very friendly when I met her to service my frames. My time there was quick since I already knew what I wanted. However, if you are looking for new glasses, take your time. They sell the same high end brands as many places. But you should look at the Sama and Lindberg selection. Both are only sold at this boutique. Why be ordinary when you can stand out. Parking is free for an half our or hour at the parking lot. read more

I walked in for a quick 'fix' on my sunglasses. No appointment made and I got super lucky that there was no one shopping in the store. I received the most personal service that I've ever had in a sales environment. Yes, they were trying to sell me a new pair of glasses but I just needed my earpieces tightened (I wear my glasses like a headband more than I do on my face, lol. I may have been in the store 10 minutes tops! The glasses were tightened .... But within a day they were right back to how they had previously been. Not at all the employees's fault. I brokw my prescription sunglasses while visiting...so I needed another pair of sunglasses. This place is on location of our hotel so we decided to stop in rather than driving around to try and find another retail location. I wish I gottent th ladies name, but she was VERY helpful. She inspected my broken sunglasses and tried to fix them. Of course, they couldn'tm really be fixed and I had already decided to pick up other sunglasses and walked in knowing it wouldn't be cheap since I didn't want a set of unknown tourist sunglasses. The lady helped me try on several and I found a pair of Maui Jim's I really liked. She priced them out, I reviewed and agreed, and got rang up. All of this took maybe 30 minutes or so. Most of the itme was spent trying to fix my other glasses and me trying on the ones i liked. I can't complain and based on the experience would go backj if I needed other sunglasses while I was there. True story. So I'm in Waikiki for business. I have a big meeting the next day with csuite. I fall asleep working and bend my frames. They're totally crooked on my face. I try HiTrend and explain my problem. The optometrist tries to warn me that the hinge mechanism on my frame may brake and pleaded me to take it home to get fixed. Needed an emergency pair glasses for my son who lost them in the ocean. The owner was so helpful and immediately made an awesome replacement pair....cut it right then and there! Where else can you get this done! Price was very reasonable, and service was way better than lens crafters, who could not make a pair for at least a week! Rude and unhelpful staff. Would not recommend coming here. It is also important to note that this location DOES NOT specialize in Maui Jim's despite what it says online. This location is listed online as the only retailer that repairs Maui Jim's. When we asked the staff, we were immediately greeted with attitude and they were very unhelpful. Parking: located in the Hilton village and parking is available at a lot closer towards the grand Waikikian. Keep in mind the Waikiki prices in the area. The people that work there are not very friendly over the phone. I walked there to have them fix my bifocals while I was on vacation. I said I was the lady on the phone about needing a screw that fell out and she looked at me and said $10. She also said she doesn't honor it to stay in. She told me to come back in 15min. My husband and I walked around and came back. $10 plus tax, and my glasses had her finger prints all over it. She never just cleaned them after she worked on them. I wouldn't spend money there if they treat anyone like that. read more

So the wait for my reimbursement continues. July 27 - I had followed up once again on my reimbursement. I was told my check would be mailed out "today or tomorrow." Trusted them once again to do so.... August 2 - STILL NO CHECK! Nearly a week after I was told it would be mailed. So I follow up again (can't even recall what number phone call this is now, maybe the fifth one) and am told my check will be mailed "today" and should arrive by Friday the latest. Crossing my fingers... August 4 - Check finally arrives, dated August 3, indicating that though I was assured my check would be mailed out when I followed up in July 27, it wasn't. This is a very well set up shop, with items showcased nicely. If you walk in there and look like money, they will assist you. If you look like minimal money or no money they will come up to you after 10 minutes and start a fake conversation and than see if you are gonna bye or just browse. I though maybe I missed the admission line or something to get attention. I was ready to buy a pair of Oakley brand sunglasses from them when I walked in, but after being ignored by them, I gave up. They noticed I was there a little too late. Do we have to beg for help nowadays? Think not! This particular store is at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort where I am an employee, and I'm supposed to be helping this merchant by advertising for them. My family and I were vacationing for a week and we were on our way to the bus terminal down the corridor from this shop. We stopped in and glad we did. Customer service was superb! I got prescription Tiffany's and love them everyday. I get many compliments. I also got prescription Gucci sunglasses and wherever I wear those I get many compliments too! Love my glasses. I purchased Chanel eye glasses frame from them and they told me that I have 2 years warranty. It sound great and I end up bought an expensive frame from them. One and a half year later, my frame was broken and chanel company said I should send my frame to the shop that I purchased and they will know where to send the frame to repair. Because normally the optical shop will have a deal with the brand company in case thing like this happen. So I called Hi trend but they said they just sold the frame and it done deal. They cannot help me at all. So I just want to warning anyone who is going to buy anything from this shop that after you bought anything from them it will be your own risk. read more

No, I can't drop $100 on Ralph by Ralph Lauren sunglasses that were made in China, soon to be at Marshalls for $15. Wow-This store is amazing. The lines they have are all incredibly difficult to find! I have never seen such a huge selection of Chanel eyeglasses and sunglasses. My boyfriend is into the Cartier eyewear which is fine-they have that there too - but for any girl who has a penchant for Chanel anything..., this is the place. The sales lady told me they have over 3000 pairs of glasses in this place. Rayban, Oakley, Maui Jim, and all the usual suspects are there.. Everything is neatly laid out very clean, and MOST importantly - their inventory is INSIDE showcases, so the sunglass/eyeglass havent been tried on a million times, which I always found kinda gross shopping at some other sunglass places. But Shhh, dont tell too many people, as this is my little secret haven when I need some shopping time to make my day brighter! read more

So, I have a fat head and it's so hard to find glasses. I live at Diamond Head and work a five minute walk to this place. I expected a shop in a touristy type area to be unprofessional or even rude but I was totally wrong. These fine people couldn't have been nicer and made me feel comfortable and welcome. They were also VERY helpful and knew their products. All of the glasses were top quality and styles I do not see at every eye wear store. I asked about a pair of Crome Hearts, which caught my eye first, and they are beautiful and elegant glasses but for my head shape, the TAG Heuer frames were clearly a better personal fit and probably more practical for my career. They agreed, which was very honest at a -800ish difference, in my favor. I couldn't say enough about my positive experience here. I'll be back here for sure. EDIT... WELDER: Okay I've been going to HI-trend since 2011 when I first moved here. They've never failed to educate me on the latest technology in polarization/ protection. My eyes are my money makers as a welder, so learning how to best protect them is priceless. Do I pay a little more here, probably. Is it worth it to have a "clearer" understanding of what I'm seeing.... education is expensive, comparatively HI-trend was not. And nobody has asked me to write this. I wrote this because I'm not easily impressed with businesses customer service these days. But they surprised me. Afterthought; I was in there last month and left my number with one of the ladies because they didn't know how could go about buying replacement lenses for my Dillion's. Largest selection of Oakley glasses that I have seen. It was good to be able to look at all the different styles and colorways as well as try them on. The staff was courteous and helpful, addressing me as soon as I entered the shop. They had lens sizes that the local Oakley store didn't. Took my time and picked out my pair . . . Happy camper! Wandered in on a whim during a staycation last weekend. Sales girl was very helpful and suggested styles that I normally wouldn't look at, but absolutely loved them. Walked away with not only 1 but 2 different pairs. Will be returning with my husband to fill his prescription glasses later this month, they even take insurance. Lots of high end name brand inventory, store is beautiful and staff is great. One of the best things is that they have a lot of frames that work for Asian faces so you can get some really cute frames that normally wouldn't work. No bridge? No problem! read more

My wife and i are addicted to sunglasses and we were like kids in a candy shop here!! I bought a maui jim for my morning jogs and a gucci for when i want to look great out on the town. I can't wait to show them off in Vegas, lol. My wife must have tried on every pair in the store before deciding on her Roberto Cavalli's. I can't say enough about High Trend ( read til the end) I forgot my sunglasses on my last holiday to Hawaii & "cheapie" sunglasses weren't cutting it with sun. We walked in w/ beverages in our hand & said maybe we shouldn't walk in until we finished them. They said absolutely not & welcomed us in. They sales staff never made me feel bad trying on what seemed every pair twice over in the section I wanted. My husband was not in need but loves sunglasses & was allowed to try on anything he might like or not even need. In the end we both walked out w/ fantastic sunglasses. Superb attention & service. But my story doesn't end here. My husband didn't pull out his new sunglasses out again until the last day & saw a scratch he didn't notice in the store. We didn't have enough time to go back before our flight. So when we got home (Canada) we called the store & w/out even having to send the glasses back, the manger ordered us new lenses & only charging us the shipping. Forever Grateful !! read more

She was very attentive and patient, I must have tried on 50 pairs. I like that its a local owned store and not a chain. The BEST eyewear shop for eyeglasses and sunglasses in the entire Pacific. The sheer amount of eyewear in this store is nothing short of amazing. Each area of the store is a shrine for each of these unique brands like Chanel, Chopard. I didnt even know TAG Heuer made sunglasses. I broke my eyeglasses and needed a replacement. My girlfriend and I could not find anything we wanted in Ala Moana (BTW how can anyone shop at Ala Moana right now?? I was stuck in the traffic jam looking for parking for 30 Minutes!!) We saw the yelp reviews on this place and paid them a visit. From the moment you enter the shop, my girlfriends jaw was on the floor! We found a Chanel pair of eyeglasses for her and the lady optician there was very knowledgeable and courteous got her lenses done in a couple of days. My girlfriend and I visited this store recently and it was a terrible experience. First off, they lied about having what I was looking for over the phone. Second, they are extremely RUDE! Third, when I asked about the glasses I was looking for they tried to tell me I shouldn't buy those particular frames basically because they did not have them on hand. They said "you buy what we have that looks good on you." Guessing they are pretty desperate for sales. Fourth, the one lady started throwing a hissy fit, slamming the cases shut, being a bitch, all because I would not buy what I did NOT want. I also took a minute to bring up frames I was talking about to help them see what I was looking for. The lady just straight took my phone out of my girlfriends hand when she was showing the picture and then tossed it on the counter!pretty sure most would agree a iPhone 5 screen with a HD pic is pretty clear! The particular frames I was looking for are probably one of the most high end glasses they even carry... Do as you please but we will not support this local store. However, we do like to support local stores as well but I guess this time we will have to go else where. She wants some similar to those as well. read more

WOW!! i can't wax on enough about these lovely local boutiques! i shop & style for a living & i'm from new york & travel a ton so i've definitely seen it all, but this place takes the cake!! this stylish boutique had EVERY SINGLE PAIR of sunglasses that i'd been eyeing out in magazines that i couldn't even find back home, every single luxury & underground brand was in here! limited editions & hard-to-find models were ALL here! & the service, that's the true icing on the cake - these ladies know their stuff & have a knack for getting you into the right pair(s) to make you look & feel like a million bucks! my only dilemma was picking which 1 - which i couldn't because the prices were so good & i couldn't find them anywhere else so i walked out w/ 3 pairs of Chloe , Tom Ford & Dior naturally. that was just at the store in the hilton in waikiki; when i flew over to the neighbor big island of hawaii a few days later, i found another hi trend boutique in the hilton at the waikoloa resort where i was staying! totally different selection, equally stunning, great knowledgeable service & fitting. i wanted to get something for my husband back home & they helped me pick out a sleek pair of Prada & a limited edition Nixon watch that he LOVED when i gave them to him - now he won't wear anything else! i wish they'd open up stores in new york so everyone could see how a real store should be - mad selection, great prices, even better service... these HI Trend boutiques are a real class act & a shopping MUST destination every time im in hawaii! read more
