Pleasant greating and a thank you for being patient. I had waited only 20 minutes. Her name escaped my mind, but she was wonderful. My lens had fallen out of its frame. I gave her the frame and lens. She looked at it and said, "Let's give it a makeover." we both laughed. Sha noticed that one of the nosegaurd was loose. In about fifteen minutes, she brought my glasses to me. The glasses looked brand new. Lens put back in, and new nosegaurds. This is Top Tier service. read more

This is a review of the Eye Dr providing eye exams ... not the optical dept. I called today for an appt for an exam and was told to call back in Dec for a potential Jan appt. My take is if Costco offers eye exams, they should be staffed so that they can be scheduled within a week or so. Otherwise don't offer the exam and take the hit on Optical Dept revenue as people go somewhere else for the exam and the resulting glasses. read more

Someone added this Costco Optical page here, but still no reviews? Well, we gotta change that! As well as the Costco Pharmacy page. Costco Optical has been here forever. I remember getting my glasses here almost two decades ago. What's great about Costco Optical is the prices are unbeatable anywhere else. It carries brand name eyeglass frames, contacts, and even its own Kirkland brand is quality. Now Kirkland has its own contact lens. I've visited this part of Costco a few times recently. The first time was to adjust a pair of sunglasses I purchased elsewhere. The person who helped me really did an amazing job trying to get it to fit correctly on my face. I have an XL size head, beyond the One Size Fits All size, so all pairs of new glasses I purchase will always need adjustments. It wasn't an easy fix and the person who helped me tried very hard, but eventually needed the professional, the man in the white coat. He fixed it up quickly and it fit perfectly. That same man just fixed my prescription glasses as unluckily both my main and spare glasses had broken screws. He fixed it up very nicely! Social distancing and customer limits are strictly enforced. Before I gave my glasses for repair, I was asked if I had any fever, cough recently, if I had any COVID contact and all the usual question. When the man in the white coat was fixing my glasses, he sanitized his gloved hands frequently and sprayed and wiped down my glasses as well as the equipment he used. Seeing that made me feel very safe. Overall, Costco Optical is the place where nothing changes. The employees who works have been friendly, professional, and very helpful. Several of them have been here since I got my glasses for the first time almost twenty years ago. In addition to the amazing prices on quality and brand name items, all repairs and adjustments are FREE. One of the best perks of Costco membership. You can get your eye exams there and you can purchase contact lens or glasses with a prescription from another doctor. Most insurance are accepted. I think Quest is not accepted. Like the pharmacy, you don't need a membership for an eye exam. But you definitely need one to purchase! read more

I'm so glad I had decided to go to Costco at Hawaii Kai. They were limiting the amount of individuals being assisted to (1) because of safety measures and I fortunately came in at the perfect time. Karleen and Julii were so helpful, kind and very informative. I truly appreciated the service the two had provided. Karleen was very knowledgeable with variety of lenses offered and provided an extensive amount of information which helped with deciding on selecting the Progressive lens. She also provided a clear breakdown of the costs, my insurance coverage and my cost. Both ladies help me select my frames which I was so appreciative since I didn't have anyone with me. read more

Rachelle at Costco optical deserves 5 stars or more if I could! I walked in on 4/16 in the evening and she greeted me warmly and went above and beyond trying to see if she could get me a cheaper price on contacts bc our federal insurance couldn't cover it. I mentioned I didn't mind paying the $66 but she somehow got it down to just the taxes under my husbands account. She is so warm, friendly, knowledgeable and deserves to be recognized for going above and beyond. She's a great addition to the Costco optical team :) thank you again Rachelle! Costco Optical has competitive pricing, from what I could see. And with some kind of coupon (which the technician informed us about) we were able to get TWO glasses for about the price of one. Be sure to pick a number and check with the red count down clock on the wall to gauge when you will be called by a clerk. Wait time could be at least and hour or two, so while waiting get your shopping done. Kupuna were able to enter Costco at 9 am, but this is ending in July and everyone has to wait until the 10 am opening time. I was fortunate to be helped by Shelly, a very knowledgeable, personable representative. She gave me a lot of practical advice about selecting frames and lenses and explained everything in details. Glasses are made on the Mainland but they send the order electronically so the wait is about 2 weeks. You can be notified when the glasses arrive via text or phone call. I got a pair of progressive lenses and another bifocal pair. Second pair is discounted 40% and the total was around $300--quite a bargain considering that a year ago I got a single pair at Sam's Club and paid almost as much. read more
