Hibachi jumbo shrimp vegetables and rice
    Judith F.

First off I would like to say how wonderfully polite and kind the people of this restaurant are. I am currently a patient in the hospital in Columbia, and I am from out of town. They were kind enough to deliver my food to the hospital which I'm very grateful for. I ordered the jumbo hibachi shrimp and vegetables and chicken wings and an order of the sushi California rolls. The food itself was good, but the hibachi sauce was extremely bland and the soy sauce was also extremely bland leaving the food lacking a lot of flavor. Except for these unfortunate things the food was beautifully displayed and very much appreciated.

They have THE best Crab Rangoon and THE best steak hibachi. The steak is usually always well done, but great food and super fast delivery!

I live in Columbus and haven't had the options like CO has. We shared a green papaya salad, and it was delicious! I would eat an entire bowl by myself. Don't forget to tear up the basil - it completes the flavor! We got the Lotus, Lemon, Firecracker, Sesame and Pork Belly sushi rolls. That is the order I would rank the rolls in flavor. It is a shame if anyone uses shoyu (sou sauce) or even wasabi when eating these rolls. The lotus has a rice paper wrap (for those who don't like seaweed) and an aioli on top that was so refreshing and flavorful. The lemon was honestly a very close second - maybe even a tie for first. I don't normally like salmon but it was so fresh and the lemon slice was refreshing and clean!

I'm not a fan of the bento boxes because you don't get much food. It's a couple pieces of meat with rice and some cold vegetables and maybe a slice of orange. Stick with the bowls and you'll be golden. The store also has a small selection of Japanese snacks, drinks, and sweets. I give this place a 4.9/5!

From the moment we stepped inside, the experience completely shifted. The interior is truly spectacular--quiet, intimate, and thoughtfully designed. The space is petite yet incredibly intentional, and it immediately evokes the feeling of being transported to Japan. While I've never personally been to Japan, this restaurant genuinely took me out of a Western setting and placed me into what felt like a Japanese dining experience. Each table is sectioned off with dividers, which adds a layer of privacy while still maintaining an open, welcoming atmosphere that reminds you that you're still in the United States. It's a perfect balance between intimacy and accessibility, and it contributes greatly to the overall ambiance. I ordered the karaage meal, which came with a cabbage salad and rice. At first, I was concerned it might not be enough food, but it ended up hitting the spot in ways I didn't expect. While I could have eaten more, I was genuinely satisfied and comfortable by the end of the meal, which speaks volumes about the quality and balance of the dish. When placing my order, I also requested soup and mentioned to our server that I had been coughing earlier. Even though I wasn't actively coughing in the restaurant, she went out of her way to bring me hot tea to help soothe my throat. That level of care and attentiveness went well beyond expectations. She was incredibly polite, well-mannered, and made sure we felt genuinely taken care of throughout our visit. The value here is outstanding--not just for the food, but for the service, atmosphere, and overall experience. Everything comes together seamlessly, and it truly feels like a home run. There was no long wait to be seated; we walked in, told them how many people were in our party, and were seated promptly. For dessert, I ordered the matcha cheesecake. I went in with certain expectations based on what I was used to, and while it leaned more toward a New York-style cheesecake flavored with matcha rather than a traditional Japanese-style cheesecake, it was still very enjoyable and well-executed. Overall, everything--from the value and location to the food, service, and atmosphere--was excellent. I would absolutely recommend this place and plan to return the next time I'm back in town. I'm looking forward to trying more items on the menu and bringing more friends along with me. A sincere thank you to the young lady who went above and beyond to ensure we had a wonderful experience.

But we were able to get a table fairly quickly. We ordered the Vietnamese spring rolls, which by far for the highlight of the evening. The sauce is addictive and I could have eaten three orders of these. My friend ordered the spider roll and I ordered the volcano roll and the Palmetto roll. The Palmetto roll had honey on it, which I didn't think about but the sweet mixed with the fish was not my thing. The volcano roll was absolutely delicious but know that it's pretty heavily covered in the mayo and eel sauce so if you don't want a ton of extra calories, you could ask for it on the side. My friend spider roll was super fishy. I'm glad we went, but not sure that it would be worth a trip back. It still took another 10 minutes to pay. I am leaving off the name of the server, because people may need the money, but I am pretty sure that the staff and team know who it is, and the problem can be fixed by servers actually writing down orders, so that mistakes are less common, and staff covering down for others. I'm shocked she thought it was okay to touch a baby--especially when we're strangers. That was completely inappropriate. The server was rude, and when my mom asked for hot water, we were told they don't have any. Do they not have a kettle or a pot to boil water? That would have been more than enough. There were no accommodations at all. The food was another huge disappointment. If you look at older pictures, you'll see the huge variety of banchan they used to serve. Now, we only got six, and the portions were tiny. Prices have gone up, but the quality has dropped. We used to be able to ask for refills on our favorites, but today when my husband asked for more pickled bean sprouts, the server refused, saying we had to finish everything else first. That's just rude and unnecessary; we're not wasteful on food. We just simply asked for a refill on a dish that we favored more than the others. The service was terrible. The server never checked on us, and we had to flag her down for a to-go box while she was chatting at another table with her back turned towards us. When it was time to pay, my husband didn't leave a tip due to the poor service, and the server had the audacity to confront him about it. She argued with him, justifying her refusal to give a simple refill by saying food costs are high and people waste banchan. That might be true for others, but we're not those customers. This assumption was insulting and uncalled for. I don't know if it's new management or what, but the service here has gone downhill fast. I went in with my mom, wife, and baby boy, expecting a great meal like we used to have here. Unfortunately, the experience was nothing short of disappointing. First, after taking our order, the server noticed my son and pinched his cheeks--making him cry. Then, she offered him a lollipop... to an 11-month-old baby. Completely inappropriate. My mom simply asked for hot water, and we were told they don't have any. How does a restaurant not have a way to heat water? The real disappointment was in the food. This place used to serve 15 banchan (side dishes), but today we received only six, all in tiny portions. Prices have gone up, portions have shrunk, and the service has taken a nosedive. When I asked for more pickled bean sprouts--my favorite--the server refused, saying I had to finish all the other banchan first. What are we, adolescents? I didn't realize we needed to "clean our plates" before we could get a simple refill. That's never happened here or at any other Korean restaurant I've been to. The worst part? We always finish all the banchan dishes because that's what we look forward to the most when we come here. I lost my appetite after that. On top of that, the service was terrible. She never once came by to refill our water or ask if everything was okay. When we finished eating, we had to flag her down just to ask for a box, because she was sitting at another table with her back turned, gossiping with two other ladies. When I went to pay, I left no tip due to the poor service. The server then had the audacity to call me out, saying, "Tip is not included, you leave no tip?" I explained the bad service, specifically how she refused a simple refill, and she proceeded to argue with me--justifying it by saying food costs are high and that people waste banchan. That might be true for some, but we're not those customers. Making that assumption about us was insulting. Plus, you made my son cry. I don't know of many strangers who would touch a baby's face like that. This place used to be a go-to for us, but they've completely lost our support. I love supporting small businesses, but when you start nickel-and-diming customers over basic hospitality and provide awful service on top of it, you ruin the dining experience.
