Ordered the NOLA Roll which was like 18$, and my salmon was grey, also smelt and tasted like old fish. Had one piece which I spit out because of the overwhelming old fish taste. Took the salmon off and tried another piece and still just tasted old, nasty and gross. My girlfriend's sushi wasn't as bad as mine but she still didn't enjoy it either. My husband and I placed a To-go order based off of their online menu- where I must mention you can order the food, has the correct address and phone number and everything- we of course chose things that sounded good and matched our personal wants/needs. When we picked up the order, legitimately every roll was wrong. When we called and asked about what could be done and what steps we could take to get the correct food, they told us it was essentially our fault because "the online menu is wrong" and we "ordered off the wrong menu" when it's literally the menu connected to their site. Went to get sushi and ordered two specialty rolls that run above 15 a roll. Never had a bad experience with the hibachi but the sushi is very questionable, my boyfriend ordered the New Orleans Roll and the salmon that was on top was grey. He pulled it off and even without it the sushi just tasted fishy and not in the right way, he had two and couldn't eat the rest. The service was okay but to their defense they were medium busy. The inside is simple but so elegant, and all of the staff were wonderful during our last visit; attentive, friendly, prompt. We ordered to go and were so pleasantly surprised. Good Hibachi in MIssissippi! Coming home from a busy Lundi Gras in NOLA we stopped by Hibachi Express to have dinner. They were closing in 20 mins but for a fairly short amount of time spent here our dining experience was pleasant and food came fast. I think there was another party aside from us dining at that time. It was a fairly quiet evening for the restaurant. Our food came fast! We had egg flower soup to begin with which was perfect on a cold, rainy evening. The Gyoza was good too. The chicken teriyaki was brought to us sizzling hot and nicely presented. The portions were reasonable. All were good and delicious. Our server did not rush us. As I mentioned earlier we had a little over 20 mins before they closed for the evening. Although by almost 10:00p she was ready to give us to go boxes LoL That was the fastest service and dining experience we had in a full service sit-down restaurant. Honestly, the service was excellent and the food way great. This would have been a 5 star review... But then I went to the bathroom. The women's bathroom is VILE. The toilet is disgusting, the floor behind the toilet has brown gunk on the floora, the mirrors have not seen a rag in months at least, and even after washing my hands thoroughly, that sink did not allow me a clean feeling. Do not order their Shrimp Fried Rice! It is the blandest rice outs side of white rice I've ever had! There is no onion, carrots or anything added just rice and shrimp and I paid an extra dollar to add the egg, assuming it would be what fried rice is supposed to be! Customer service is fine. Food was VERY seasoned. My server NOT IT. We went on a Sunday (1/2 off sushi). We ordered everything at once when she came over to get our drink order.. We received our drinks ..then our ragoons ..then our entrees but never our California rolls. At the end of our meal we asked the manager about our rolls which he replied with "we have no tickets". He gets my server and she acts as if we didn't even order them. "Oh i apologize i have a headache and didn't hear that part" however whenever she repeated our order we had a WHOLE conversation about these rolls....we took home brown rolls because they wouldn't take it off the bill . Normally, we love our visits to HE. We've been coming there since they opened. This one visit ensured we won't be back. Over the last few years, the restaurant itself has shown signs of wear but was generally clean. Not today. Bathrooms were disgusting (dirty counters, no towels, sticky floors, overflowing trash). Upon being seated, I noticed a puddle of what I thought was water, on the table (keep in mind this is hibachi so picture the seating and vent hoods over each table) so I picked up a napkin to wipe it up.... It wasn't water, it was grease dropping from the hood. I told the waitress about it and her response was "Well, I mean, they're cleaned every night, so.....". No offer to move us, no offer to clean it up, no mention to a manager about a potential problem (I'm aware it was from an overflowing trap but I guess she feels smarter than me). Cliff notes version for the rest: overcharged, underserved, given a really bad attitude the rest of the visit, sloppy food presentation, undercooked vegetables and no afternoon paid to details. Overall, I'm sad that this happened (I paid in full, tipped the waitress and left quietly) but from now on, across the street to Koi Sushi we will go. Attached are photos of the dripping grease.... We got some cheap sushi rolls, that were very large and tasty for 5$ (the Alaskan and a eel avocado roll)...we then pushed our luck and tried the salmon sashimi which was a large portion but was not the best tasting unfortunately... the staff was very friendly and they do give a military discount. we will be searching for another sushi place in town but might come back for the hibachi experience. read more

Went here because my son wanted to go for his graduation dinner. The waitress took great care of us. Our order was taken quickly and the chef made the grandkids laugh and they really enjoyed it. It's one of their speciality rolls and it does not disappoint. **Appetizers are half off on Sundays so keep that in mind. I also enjoy their seafood fried rice. This place is REPULSIVE. I expected a nice dinner with my boyfriend.. everything was fine, the hibachi cook was serving everyone their rice and I realized my napkin was still on the plate so I grabbed it to make room for the rice and the first thing I see when looking down was a LIVE roach on its back, completely alive and kicking. I was so disgusted.. I didn't make a scene because no one wants that but.. are you serious? I notified the waitress and she came to talk to me and she was like "so we called the owner and I'm almost positive you won't have to pay anything because this is ridiculous".. so she took my plate and went to the hostess desk... DROPPED THE ROACH IN THE TRASH and brought the plate in the back and brought me a new one. I was hungry so I continued to eat but obviously didn't finish because of the disgusting roach crawling around... like 15 minutes later the waitress came back and gave everyone their check.. they gave 10% off for everyone at the table.. including me (the person that was involved in the situation) off of the dinner price.. ONLY 10% off. This place is a joke. Not to mention extremely unprofessional. On the same evening I found the roach, multiple people in the staff were cursing up a storm with their "curtain door" swinging open and what not. Now here is a place where you cn go and have fun with friends. Next to the Game Stop and Walmart you will find a great place where you can go and enjoy saki bombs and watch the chef cook your food right in front of you. You can choose a table but I recommend sitting at the hibachi grill and ordering the hibachi dinner. For those of you who have never been, Hibachi style dinner includes a basic fried rice, grilled vegetables and either steak shrimp chicken or filet mignon. My buddy on the Coast was moving away to the ATL so we went to celebrate his departure. We were seated at the grill and shared it with another couple (which you will have to do if your party is not 6 or more) We watched as the chef sliced and diced his way around the grill leaving us not only full but entertained as well. The Hibachi dinners were well prepared (***1/2 stars) but the night was not over as we ordered very fresh and tasty sushi platters as well. They have a very excellent selection of sushi entrees to choose from. Anything from tempura shrimp for the novice, to fresh slices of tuna. Cold Sapporo or Asahi is available as well as hot saki. We had a great time and while the dinner is not fine dining its something everyone, even the kids can enjoy!!! P.S. don't forget to give the chef a tip for the show!!! read more

Had the steak and scallop hibachi dinner with a Mississippi Roll. I really enjoyed everything about the Hibachi dinner - the show was funny and warm. Steak and scallop grilled with butter and garlic. Fried rice: *drool*. And noodles with vegetables go good together especially as the Vegetables were a little al dente. I really think the roll was the pinnacle of the dinner; some spicy tuna and it was done very well .. would like to go back and try every other roll that's on the menu. Went one day, grill was dirty, table was dirty, HE cook was so heavy handed with the food, when putting it on the plate food was missing the plate and falling on the table. Silverware was dirty, bowl of soup had food all on the bottom....we stopped going for a while..oh, bathrooms nasty..today against out better judgement, we decided to try again since they have an A grade...well, again, Table was dirty, a bug was floating in my BF water...sooo we end up leaving. Oh, we did visit the bathroom, still dirty! Definitely wont be back anymore. Used to be our go-to for hibachi, now will continue to travel to Biloxi to Sumo instead. The food was good but didn't blow my socks off or anything like that. I ordered the shrimp and chicken and so did my wife. For the two of us the bill came up to $55.00 which wasn't a bad deal at all for hibachi style food. The other patrons in restaurant seemed to be enjoying themselves as we were.
