We rolled up to our team holiday party at Hibachi Grill Buffet, 18 deep, costing the boss $17/person for dinner, which immediately raised my foodie spidey senses...bc that is suspiciously cheap!!!The place was stuffy and empty... never a comforting sign, but the food aisles were clean and the entrees looked promising, so I went in hopeful and hungry. Reality check: the food was lukewarm at best and tasted like it had been waiting longer than we had. Quality hovered somewhere around "meh." The beef short ribs were tough enough to fight back, and the marinade was aggressively sweet... like dessert pretending to be dinner!!! The real MVP was the Mongolian grill since it was actually made fresh. Fruit, desserts, and ice cream were fine, doing their job without offending anyone. Credit where it's due: service was on point. Drinks stayed full, plates disappeared like magic.... great effort from the staff!!! But after the gift exchange, we were still hungry. So naturally, a few of us pulled a strategic escape and migrated over to Haven City to finish what the buffet couldn't. Came here on a Saturday morning before the lunch rush. I was pleasantly surprised on how clean the food aisles were, also considering it was early. There was a good variety of food choices between seafood, chicken and beef. I won't say everything was the best but pretty good based on buffet standards. The dessert choices were also decent. We went to this buffet as soon as it opened in order to get the fresh choices . For me all buffets offer the same options: salad bar , sushi , soups , seafood , pork , beef , dumplings , desserts and teppanyaki (cook to order) section . This is my fave section bc I get to pick my raw meat or seafood , veggies and condiments which is cooked on a flat iron grill. I particularly enjoy Hibachi's marinated pork steak bc of its flavor and tender cut paired with the grilled vegetables of choice . This buffet offers the best deal $12.99 for seniors 65 and over on weekdays which is cheaper than a burger combo. You pay the drinks separately. The staff are friendly and attentive altho they get really busy lunchtime and weekends . The place is nothing fancy as far as decorative dining, it's just a plain open space restaurant with booths on the side and tables and chairs in the middle so I don't expect much about it's ambiance. You can smell the aroma of the dishes on the warming table and lighting is not too bright . I think this place could use more color to enhance the atmosphere with brighter lighting to make it more vibrant. Overall , it's a good deal for weekday lunch . read more

My dad wanted to try this place since the price was good, and I really wanted to enjoy it but there's some parts I'm okay and some I'm just not okay with. Table seating is fine, we almost go fast in the back but since my dad had a long day of walking we asked to sit in the middle which the server let us. The foods I tried and enjoyed: coconut shrimp, fried chicken wings, fried shrimp, teriyaki chicken, crab rangoon, spicy fish, hibachi grilled pork steak, and ice cream. The foods I tried and did not like: sushi (rice was too dry, I didn't get any raw fish since it didn't look fresh), bbq chicken (super salty), pizza (yeast flavor too strong), noodles (too oily), beef galbi (too chewy), egg custard (too dry), apple pie (too slimy inside), cake (too dry), and sweet and sour fish (wet and no taste). Overall for the price I think trying the food it was worth it. This is a standard cheap china buffet which I do enjoy a second time because then I'll be able to get what I know tastes good. Unfortunately, I knocked out an extra star because the bathroom situation was a bit rough. The doors to the gendered restrooms are kept wide open, the stalls are so close to the doors, one of the stalls door was hard to close without touching the toilet, and there's only two stalls out of three and they ran out of paper towels. read more

I love Hibachi Grill buffet that offers many different kinds of delicious food, seafood, meat, vegestables, salad bar, sushi bar, cakes, icecream. The sign at the door shows a big A from the health department I just had a lovely lunch. This time I tried the wonderful grilled vegestables, shrimp, chicken & thin pork chop ( I like it thin) & I can see my food being grilled. I gave a tip of course as it was well cooked & delicious. Been here many times before, and haven't lately. Now I realized why... it's not the food, but the service. Especially the front counter lady. No matter you're an elderly or children, she would interrogate your @$$ like a missile base's gate keeper! "How old are you? Oh you're not qualified for a discount!" Jesus! Got food poisoning from the seafood. i could tell that something wasn't right after eating and having diarrhea within15 minutes of ingesting this food and went straight to the restroom at this buffet. to my surprise one of friends was also in there after i heard his voice saying that the food is bad as he was also experiencing diarrhea. Date of visit: November 22, 2024 My fiancee's uncle's funeral reception was held at Hibachi Grill Buffet - located within a very busy shopping mall (we lucked out finding parking nearby after circling the parking lot a few times). While the restaurant itself was clean, and the service wasn't too bad - initially they had glasses full of drinks on one of the side tables, which the servers refilled... eventually - the food was just serviceable. I was looking for stuff that I normally don't get at Asian buffets, but it seems like the same selections of appetizers, sushi, mains, and the grill were available. (Except for shu mai - that was conspicuously absent.) Not just that, while I'd limited myself to the sushi, potstickers, edamame, and seafood mix, they all tasted a bit on the bland side. The only saving grace I could think of was the coffee ice cream on the dessert bar. Not that bad, but not that great, either... though at a regular price of $18 on weekends, Hibachi Grill Buffet is a bit of a steal. read more

The food was very much delicious. However, my father did have some problems at this place because of one of the workers. I know accidents do indeed happen but one of the workers was rushing to take the soup and dropped it all over my dad's fruit. He was very upset about it and that did seem to ruin his experience today. Very upsetting. The guy did not even apologize and proceeded to not clean up for a moment. Ordered just waters (servers get these along with silverware) and went to serve myself The salad bar had limited kinds of dressing only ranch, Italian and French. Been here numerous times throughout the years and today everything still tastes really good. I only have 2 complaints this visit. I was waiting to be seated at opening and they still sat the guy that came in after me before me because he jumped up and forced himself to the front. 2nd was the entire time I was eating the waitress never once came to the table to offer refills or anything but still asked if I wanted change when I paid at the end. Came here last Sunday. Got a seat really quickly, but it was suuuper stuffy inside. Turns out their AC was broken and they're still waiting for someone to fix it. Hopefully it's fixed by now! They had a couple big fans blowing, but that wasn't enough. Their food was ok, some were almost gone around 7pm. Some food was a bit too salty according to my family. I thought the saltiness was tolerable, but I just have a higher tolerance for saltiness. Their coffee ice cream was ok, but some of the other ones (mango, matcha) tasted artificial. Most of them were almost empty too. Wish they have more veggie options. I ended up getting some veggies to get grilled and that was pretty good. They meat was mostly gone except for the steak. Baby niece only had jello and ice cream. 5$ for her since she's 3 years old Over all I just wanted to update because this place has been a routine for me and I really enjoy the quality. Service is always quick to grab plates and refills. I hope they start to recognize me because I'd like a first name basis/ requesting a server. Food is OK. What is not acceptable is the waiters come around every 5 minutes when it's time to pay. When you 1st come in to eat, they don't come by often to clean up the plates. We've ate here over 5 times and it's like this. One time, the waiter said to tip 15%. While subjective, the owner is a short, stingy looking lady, so I wouldn't be surprised if she told her workers to go beg for their raise from customers. After all, I think they're all paid cash, so the owner could one day refuse to pay or owe her workers pay. The command is coming from the owner because in China, tipping doesn't exist and in 2 cases, the waitresses ran after me to give my entire tip back. For places demanding tip when it isn't necessary like to go orders or demanding 18%, I don't go to these places.
