We rolled up to our team holiday party at Hibachi Grill Buffet, 18 deep, costing the boss $17/person for dinner, which immediately raised my foodie spidey senses...bc that is suspiciously cheap!!!The place was stuffy and empty... never a comforting sign, but the food aisles were clean and the entrees looked promising, so I went in hopeful and hungry. Reality check: the food was lukewarm at best and tasted like it had been waiting longer than we had. Quality hovered somewhere around "meh." The beef short ribs were tough enough to fight back, and the marinade was aggressively sweet... like dessert pretending to be dinner!!! The real MVP was the Mongolian grill since it was actually made fresh. Fruit, desserts, and ice cream were fine, doing their job without offending anyone. Credit where it's due: service was on point. Drinks stayed full, plates disappeared like magic.... great effort from the staff!!! But after the gift exchange, we were still hungry. So naturally, a few of us pulled a strategic escape and migrated over to Haven City to finish what the buffet couldn't. If you're on a super tight budget but want variety and your taste buds are feeling emotionally distant, this place will do the job. Just don't come expecting fireworks.... more like a polite shrug from your food.

Came here on a Saturday morning before the lunch rush. I was pleasantly surprised on how clean the food aisles were, also considering it was early. There was a good variety of food choices between seafood, chicken and beef. I won't say everything was the best but pretty good based on buffet standards. The dessert choices were also decent. Overall, the cleanliness and service was good. I would totally recommend this place, especially if you are going during off peak times.

Stopped by on Saturday, 11/29/25. $18.99 per person (weekend all day price). Price is still the same as last year and one of the affordable buffet places I have ever seen. Several seafood options still (crabs, sushi, shrimp, clams, etc). The green tea and coffee ice cream flavors are still here too! Located at the same plaza as Haven City Market.

This place is a must go when you're in West Covina. Bang for your buck and can't go wrong with the price! Delicious food and its clean so give it a try when you're in the neighborhood.

My dad wanted to try this place since the price was good, and I really wanted to enjoy it but there's some parts I'm okay and some I'm just not okay with. Table seating is fine, we almost go fast in the back but since my dad had a long day of walking we asked to sit in the middle which the server let us. The foods I tried and enjoyed: coconut shrimp, fried chicken wings, fried shrimp, teriyaki chicken, crab rangoon, spicy fish, hibachi grilled pork steak, and ice cream. The foods I tried and did not like: sushi (rice was too dry, I didn't get any raw fish since it didn't look fresh), bbq chicken (super salty), pizza (yeast flavor too strong), noodles (too oily), beef galbi (too chewy), egg custard (too dry), apple pie (too slimy inside), cake (too dry), and sweet and sour fish (wet and no taste). Overall for the price I think trying the food it was worth it. This is a standard cheap china buffet which I do enjoy a second time because then I'll be able to get what I know tastes good. Unfortunately, I knocked out an extra star because the bathroom situation was a bit rough. The doors to the gendered restrooms are kept wide open, the stalls are so close to the doors, one of the stalls door was hard to close without touching the toilet, and there's only two stalls out of three and they ran out of paper towels.

I love Hibachi Grill buffet that offers many different kinds of delicious food, seafood, meat, vegestables, salad bar, sushi bar, cakes, icecream. The sign at the door shows a big A from the health department I just had a lovely lunch. This time I tried the wonderful grilled vegestables, shrimp, chicken & thin pork chop ( I like it thin) & I can see my food being grilled. I gave a tip of course as it was well cooked & delicious. I love their senior citizen price of $12.99 for lunch.

Surprised I didn't have tummy trouble with low qualify grubs like these

Been here many times before, and haven't lately. Now I realized why... it's not the food, but the service. Especially the front counter lady. No matter you're an elderly or children, she would interrogate your @$$ like a missile base's gate keeper! "How old are you? Oh you're not qualified for a discount!" Jesus! It's only a couple of dollars difference! Food wise, didn't expect anything amazing, but the dishes were mostly cold! I mean, how tough is it to keep the hot water underneath the pans hot? Shrimps were tiny AF. Soups too salty and too thick in texture like glue. I wouldn't even dare to touch the cold dishes and let alone salad. Only got sodas refilled once since the waiters were too busy chit chatting. I still tipped fairly, but coming back, again? Highly doubtful.

Date of visit: November 22, 2024 My fiancee's uncle's funeral reception was held at Hibachi Grill Buffet - located within a very busy shopping mall (we lucked out finding parking nearby after circling the parking lot a few times). While the restaurant itself was clean, and the service wasn't too bad - initially they had glasses full of drinks on one of the side tables, which the servers refilled... eventually - the food was just serviceable. I was looking for stuff that I normally don't get at Asian buffets, but it seems like the same selections of appetizers, sushi, mains, and the grill were available. (Except for shu mai - that was conspicuously absent.) Not just that, while I'd limited myself to the sushi, potstickers, edamame, and seafood mix, they all tasted a bit on the bland side. The only saving grace I could think of was the coffee ice cream on the dessert bar. Not that bad, but not that great, either... though at a regular price of $18 on weekends, Hibachi Grill Buffet is a bit of a steal.

One of the worst Asian buffets around. Food at dinner time was very stale. The only saving grace was the Mongolian BBQ. Service was good.

You can park in the additional parking spots all around Shopper Ln. I have been a customer for many years and tried many delicious dishes. They serve a traditional Mexican open buffet at certain times. The waiting line is expected, but don't feel discouraged because it moves fast. The decor is vibrant enriched with colorful murals. The staff are very welcoming and genuinely warm. The restaurant has cozy and inviting ambience. Outdoor and indoor seating are available. I placed an online order for pickup. It was fast and convenient since I had friends coming for dinner. I ordered the following: - Burrito Panchon 5/5 Stuffed with carnita, beans and rice, served with cream, beans and guacamole. Huge portion! You can choose your protein. - Fajitas Cielo Mar Y Tierra 5/5 Marinated beef, shrimp, chicken. It served with sauteed bell peppers tomatoes and onions, rice, guacamole, beans and pico de gallo. It was smoky, savory and flavorful. - Vegetarian Enchiladas 5/5 Corn tortillas stuffed with bell pepper, corn, onion, carrot, cilantro, squash, and topped with a combination of cream and jack cheese. The portion was enormous. It was a very flavorful and savory. - Carna Asada 5/5 Flap meat marinated with homemade adobo. It served with pico de gallo, rice & guacamole. The meat was juicy and tender. It was such a delicious dish. - Empanadas 5/5 I chose chicken empanadas. It served with salad. The empanadas was crispy from outside and very flavorful. - Ensalada de Nopales 5/5 Diced cactus mixed with tomatoes, onion, lime, and cilantro. - Taquitos 5/5 It was crispy from outside with savory and juicy filling. - Taco de Cameron , taco de Pescado & taco de Birria 5/5 They were savory, juicy and delicious. - Beans 5/5 Topped with melted cheese, really delicious - Large Bionico Bowl 5/5 Fresh fruits like topped strawberries, mango, cantaloupe, banana, papaya, blueberries, apples, pineapple topped with granola and shaved coconut. It was rich, creamy. The fruits were fresh and sweet. It was heavenly! Every box was wrapped with layers of plastic wrap perfectly. I got a bag full of different types of salsa with my order and another bag with tortilla chips. The food portions were very generous. Every dish reflected authenticity and deliciousness. I recently visited Fonda Don Chon Mexican Buffet and unfortunately left feeling very disappointed,…read moreespecially regarding their policy for young children. The service was just okay, but what really bothered me was being charged $17 for my daughter, who is only 2 years old. She barely ate anything, just about two pieces of watermelon and a small bite of concha bread. For that amount of food, I found the $17 charge completely unreasonable. When I questioned the charge, the waiter explained that because the food was put on her plate rather than being fed to her directly by us, they considered her to have eaten from the buffet and charged the full $17. He also mentioned that management is watching the cameras to determine whether children are eating from the buffet. Honestly, I find this policy excessive. I understand that buffets need rules to prevent people from sharing food or taking advantage of the system, but charging $17 for a 2 year old who ate practically nothing seems unreasonable. There should be some sort of reduced price or reasonable policy for toddlers, especially when they consume such a small amount of food. The food may be worth trying, but because of this experience and the way the situation was handled, I would think twice before returning. A $17 charge for what my 2-year-old actually ate felt ridiculous and left a very negative impression

Who know's how long that has been sitting there 3) The desserts are sitting on an ice block, I'm not sure why the sushi isn't!! I wonder how many people have gotten sick from this. Who know's how long anything has been sitting there. Most of the meats were pretty hard and dry. Every thing was super salty. Except for the clam chowder, which needed more salt. Utensils sitting in dirty containers. The whole place could use a damp cloth running through it. This place is not that busy and they have so many employees sitting and standing around. It was $18.99 for one person, 10% off for seniors. I guess you get what you pay for. Honestly it wasn't worth the price for me. My family and I, all left very unsatisfied. We won't be back.
