The fried chicken was a crowd favorite, and anything with flower pepper really stood out with bold, numbing flavor. Tried pork ear for the first time, and it was surprisingly good--nicely seasoned with chili oil and had a great texture. We also had lamb, spicy roasted fish, tofu, and a variety of vegetables--everything was well-executed and full of flavor. Great spot for sharing dishes and trying something new.

in such a competitive restaurant environment now in LA, it's no longer acceptable (not that it…read morereally ever was) to excuse bad service for good food. we came in around 8:20pm to dine in and was immediately greeted by the male server saying "pickup?" I should've taken this gesture immediately as an unwillingness to seating us. I responded with no, party for 2, and another lady comes running over and says "but we close at 9" in which I responded, I'm well aware, but can we still order? they both responded with yes so i said okay can we seat? in which she responded with again, "but we close at 9." really not sure what's up with the people running this restaurant, but if you don't want the business or if you just want to close earlier, then do that. there are plenty of sichuan places in the SGV (and quite honestly probably better tasting) than this place. take your business elsewhere. PS - also seeing recent yelp reviews about trending terrible service, please just run from this place. if they don't want your business, don't force your time and money down their throats. i'm not interested in eating bloody chicken anyways.

This place is one of my families favorite local spot. What I really appreciate about the restaurant…read moreis how diverse the clients are and the staff. It really goes to show how the surrounding community that has a balance of different ethnic group comes to appreciation the good flavor and quality of this Chinese cuisine. The services here are very friendly and attentive. The only thing to keep in mind is that if you come in an hour before they close they will let you know that in advance. I think the intent is so you order fast and don't linger. Not a negative for me since my family usually is pretty quick about eating and going. They are also pretty good with customizing their ingredients. My wife is gluten free so we would ask that they not add in soy sauce or oyster sauce in some of the dishes that we know can still work without those two ingredients. You would need to know how to customize it yourself as I don't think they would know what to do if you simply say no gluten. Overall, I really don't have anything negative to say about this place. We walk in hungry and happy and we come out full and satisfied.

Tian You Feng Dumpling House is a local neighborhood and family-owned Chinese eatery in West Covina…read morethat specializes in various dumplings. [Parking]: The dumpling house shares the same plaza parking lot as Tokyo Central in West Covina and our party had no issue finding an available parking spot. [Atmosphere]: A fairly standard no-frills Chinese restaurant setup with indoor tables only and our party was able to grab a table immediately at 7:30 PM on Saturday. [Menu]: Customers use a Sharpie to circle and place orders on a laminated menu. Yelp's top highlighted items are Beef Noodle Soup, Juicy Pork Dumplings, and Shrimp and Pork Wontons. The menu highlights recommended dishes with a thumbs-up icon and those dishes include #6 Braised Beef Noodle Soup, #14 Shrimp & Chicken Dumplings, #20 Shrimp & Pork Wontons in Chili Sauce, #21 Juicy Pork Dumplings (aka XLB), and #27 Pan-Fried Pork Buns. *** #6 Braised Beef Noodle Soup (mild - $14.99): S-tier broth and noodles. The noodles had soft texture and the broth was clear & flavorful. Spicy level was also just right. In addition, the broth did not taste particularly oily. The meat was good, but I prefer the beef tendon from some other SGV (San Gabriel Valley) beef noodle soup spots. #14 Shrimp & Chicken Dumpling (10 pieces - $12.99): Excellent chewy dough and I actually liked these dumplings more than the XLBs. I am also a fan of the garlic & oyster dipping sauce. S-tier dumplings. #21 Juicy Pork Dumpling (aka XLB 8 pieces - $13.49): Interesting broth with a slightly sweet and savory flavor. The dough was a bit thicker than I would have liked and the flavor was not as good as newer spots like Yum Long in Monterey Park, but still a solid A-tier dish. *** Overall a solid 4.5-star for the food (bonus points for the beef noodle soup and shrimp & chicken dumplings), bump up to 5-star for efficient service, easy parking, and no wait on weekends.

Didn't even know about this place until I search for dumplings on yelp…read more Let me tell you, now that I found it. I will definitely be frequenting this place a lot. I personally love their spicy wonton soup, but I've also tried the regular soup and the broth is amazing either way. I just prefer the spicier version. It's hard to really say what you should order here, I personally like the spicy wonton soup, but every single one of their appetizers that I have tried are amazing, unfortunately, I haven't tried too many of their main dishes as I tend to be a creature of habit, but I'm sure just like with all the appetizers that I've tried everything you order here will come out amazing. Anytime it's cold or starts to rain, this is my go to spot for a nice warm soup
