We just moved into the area and found Hibachi House while searching for places to eat. A similar place you might think of is the chain Quickway, but I can tell you: this place is WAY better. We've been getting the hibachi chicken, and the chicken is tender white meat, not too much sauce. The vegetables are cooked with butter -- yeah, really, and you can taste it -- and are a really nice variety, including squash. I usually get the fried rice instead of the white rice, and it adds a little bit to the whole thing. Basically, this actually is hibachi that you can order out, unlike Quickway, which is a fast-food knock-off version of hibachi. Portion sizes are VERY generous; I usually get two meals out of a serving. They're very generous with their sauces, and the small salad that you can get with a hibachi order comes the ginger sauce/dressing. If you haven't tried this, definitely do. From the time I walked in, to the time I left, The customer service was A1. I wasn't aware that they closed at 9 and I ordered at 8:53. Instead of attitude I was greeted with a huge smile and a welcome by the cashier as I apologized. The establishment is so clean and bright and welcoming. I can't wait to go again and eat in. The menus are everywhere there is even a separate section where you can place orders to go on your Own on a kiosk. Orders are ready so fast and pipping hot! And can we talk about how heavy the plates are! This is such a great meal that is hot and fresh, easy on the waisted calories and guaranteed to have leftovers! Nice hibachi restaurant specializing in quick service food! Walking in you are greeted by large touchscreen ordering kiosks which allow you to explore the menu at your own pace and make a decision for what you'd like for your meal. They have an expansive menu which consists of many protein offerings, noodles or rice and vegetable options for your main dish. With all entrees coming with miso soup or a side salad. The service workers were really kind and our food was prepared very quickly. What really stood out was the variety of options for sauces to accompany our meals. The white sauce and ginger sauce were stand outs for us. The steak hibachi was well seasoned and incredibly portioned I had leftovers for the next day which was nice. Finally stopped by to check this place out and I'm glad I did! It's a quick serve restaurant and you order via touchscreen. I love this because I can see all the options to modify my meal to my specific tastes. The food came out fairly quickly and tasted great. The portion sizes are big and the prices are reasonable for what you get. The sauces on the side were really good as well. I added chili oil to my meal to give it some kick...loved it. Was recommended by a few friends of mine to try this place out for something fast-casual. Went here for a quick dinner, and I enjoyed the food here. The Food: I got the Steak Hibachi with Half Noodles/Half Fried Rice topped with an Egg. the steak was cooked nicely, covered in teriyaki sauce which mixed well withe the noodles and rice. It wasn't incredibly oily either, which made it more enjoyable. Portion size i big, so you'll leave out of here fulfilled. The Service: Service was good. You order through a tablet which makes the process very fast. Food came out in a timely manner. So not a lot of waiting. The Atmosphere: Plenty of tables to sit at. Spacious enough where you don't feel cramped. But it is a fast casual spot, so the decor is not fancy. Overall, a 5/5! Enjoyed the food, was fast and delicious with a nice portion. The service at this place was exceptional. I walked in, and there was a place to put your order in through a welcome screen. I was taking a little bit longer than normal because it was my first time there, but one of the workers came up to me, asked me how things were going offered suggestions and walk me through the menu process with these. I had a question about the dumplings and what type of sauce they had and she offered to get me a sample. It was delicious, so I ordered the dumplings as well. The dining area was clean and inviting. There was a combination between tables and booths and you could customize the space depending on the size of the party. Everything was clean, and I was very pleased by that. There was a casual flare to the restaurant that made it different than your typical hibachi type places. This was a place where you could get some great food without all of the fanfare of the full hibachi restaurant experiences. The wait time was pretty nominal, considering everything was made to order. The food came out piping hot and fresh and everything looked wonderful. I ordered a bottle drink and the hostess asked if I wanted a cup of ice. That may seem simple to some people, but to me it showed extra care and consideration for someone. The food was absolutely delicious. You get a lot of food for the price and I was well pleased with that. Everything was seasoned to perfection. The Yum Yum sauce that I got was delicious and complemented the food well. It did not overtake the situation and it offered a wonderful balance to the delicious food. I ordered way too much and when I was ready to leave, I was preparing to go. The workers asked me that I want a top any extra toppings and a bag so that I could transport my goodies home without issue. The food was delicious. The service was impeccable. The wait times were slight. I had a wonderful experience. I will be back. If I could offer a tip, make sure that you order some food to go and some food to stay. Wow. I dont just hand out 5 stars but this is absolutely delicious!!! 50 mins from home but worth it and will be back. The food was tender, juicy and very delicious. Management and staff!! They were so polite and kind!! We all got salmon bowls with things added to it. I got steak added. My daughter got shrimp added and my man got chicken, steak and shrimp added to his bowl. We also had the opportunity to try a new item on their menu. The teriyaki chicken sandwich and it was soooooo delicious!!! Everything was just spot on. We ended up here from a TikTok that I saw and it didn't disappoint. They seemed very busy with pick up orders. But it did NOT take away from our dine in experience. Well lit and very cute!! This restaurant has been open about a week from what I'm learning. I saw it on IG and of course was curious to try some affordable hibachi. I've heard the family always runs/owns Hibachi Box at VCU also (which has yummy food too!). Location: This is in a strip mall off of Lauderdale. Very quiet strip with the exception of a few other small restaurants, beauty shops, and exercise facilities. Don't just a book by its cover. The location will definitely require them to leverage word of mouth and marketing, but I think word is already quickly spreading. It was quite busy, just enough to keep folks ordering, waiting, and eating in the rotation. The inside was super clean and spotless. Staff: Everyone was so friendly and I absolutely appreciate when I'm greeted, but also approached. This restaurant utilizes self ordering kiosk. The staff quickly approached EACH person visiting welcoming them, asking if it's their first time, and sharing how their ordering system works. Ordering: Honestly it was a pretty self explanatory kiosk, but still, they went the extra mile. Pick your entree (hibachi meat selection), 2 sides, 2 sauces, and soup or salad. Then, you can select your drink (extra $). Since they just opened, they only had bottled drinks, which is fine and understandable, but no diet drinks available. Also because they were bottles, of course refills not available. Water was available though, and of course this is a temporary situation until they get their drink machines in. You grab a buzzer and key in the number before checkout. Then they buzz you when your meal is ready. Food: I had the shrimp hibachi with noodles, fried rice, yum yum sauce + ginger sauce, and soup. Everything was about $13 (not including drink) which was super reasonable for the amount and portion of food. Even though this is a self order place, the staff still walked around checking on people, which again was just too tier service. I enjoyed the food and everything tasted great. The *only* feedback I can truly give is that the soup was a tad salty. That's something that can be refined with time and feedback. I enjoyed this meal, appreciated the great service, and liked that it's super filling while easy on the budget. The only reason I didn't rate them at 5 stars is because there aren't any vegetables in the hibachi meals, but don't get it twisted. Had high hopes for this place but it was very bland. I ordered teriyaki steak hibachi with rice and noodles and I didn't realize they would give me fettuccine noodles.. absolutely zero flavor. This was my first time actually visiting this restaurant. I've had them twice before with co-workers ordering a big group lunch order. There are a few chairs and tables inside, but not sure if they offer dine-in services. The guy behind the counter that helped me place my order mentioned it was take-out only, but not sure if that was always or just based on the time. The guy (didn't get his name) was very nice and helpful. Like I mentioned, he helped me place my order due my confusion of never visiting the actual restaurant before. I got the chicken habachi with rice and veggies. Delicioussss!! It's seasoned so well, you could enjoy it without the additional sauces offered. Portions are very generous. I appreciate the fact that the meat is seasoned and isn't tough as a boulder. I've found with most other habachi places, the meat (often the chicken) is cooked though and flavorless on its own before having to drown it in yum yum, ginger or soy sauce. This was my 3rd time having their food, and definitely won't be my last. They're a new staple in my book. Definitely recommend. read more

Great experience and delicious food! We had both the chicken and tofu veggie hibachi. I'm not a huge tofu person but this tofu was seriously good! I almost didn't get it but the staff offered to put it on the side for me and I'm so glad I tried it. It's crispy on the outside and light and airy on the inside- none of that wet tofu texture. The chicken had great flavor and the rice and noodles were delicious as well. We also loved both the ginger and yum yum sauces. The owner and staff were very nice and helpful. My food was ready to go no more than ten minutes after I ordered. Really excited about a great fast casual hibachi place in the west end and will be here regularly! read more

Excited for quick hibachi-style food for dinner last night. Ordering was easy on their website, and it was ready when I got there 10min later. Staff very friendly. Restaurant very clean. I was struck by the option to add scrambled or fried egg to the order as, apparently, a protein option. Thought that was odd since scrambled egg comes in every fried rice I've ever had at a hibachi restaurant. Does that mean scrambled egg not in fried rice? Since also had tofu as option, I ultimately thought it was meant to to provide people with multiple protein options. To be safe I went ahead and added it and noted to mix it in with fried rice. Miso soup was ok. I have to say I've never really had great miso soup anywhere, so don't take my opinion as gospel. Salad was ok, but was small. But never had an great salad at any hibachi restaurant. Let's be honest; how can iceberg lettuce with shredded carrot be praise worthy. I did think the ginger dressing was pretty good. The veggies were cooked pretty well and had good flavor. Broccoli, onions, zuch, mushrooms were not over cooked. Appears that the mushroom, broccoli, and zuch/onions were cooked separately because they were served separately in the container. Which is a good thing since they all best cooked at different temps. Would have been disappointed if everything had been cooked all mixed together. Ordered two main dishses: streak and shrimp and steak and chicken. Like another reviewer posted the shrimp were small and a little salty. After I had ordered I realized there was no prompt for temperature for the steak. Turns out temperature didn't matter because the steak was very thin and could really only cook it one temp. I wouldn't call the steak high quality because there was some minor fat and gristle in places. None to the point were I had problem eating it. Meat that thin could have easily been hammered beyond edible if cooked too long. That didn't happen. Meat was not over-cooked. Had decent flavor. The chicken was cooked ok but didn't have a consistent sear. When chewing it there were different textures/consistency in chicken. It wasn't gristly or anything like that. But it also wasn't a chunk of chicken breast like you'd buy at grocery store and cook at home. The fried rice was not to my liking. The texture was off. Maybe it was overcooked. Don't know. The big disappointment to me was the Yum Yum sauce. It wasn't like any other Yum Yum I had. Something extra was added. Don't know what. Tasted it and didn't use it. Perhaps others will like it. Friendly staff first and foremost. Easy to place order. That said, I consider this more teriyaki than hibachi. Not a bad thing, but if you're looking for more traditional hibachi, Ninja Hibachi is the place to go for fast hibachi (though a bit pricey) if you're not trying to go to a true sit down hibachi style restaurant. But for what this place does, it's actually good. I went to another new place in Innsbrook on Broad (where Pie Five Pizza use to be) that claimed to do hibachi and it was horrible, this place beats it hands down. You get a lot of food for the money. The beef quality is good and plentiful portion. The teriyaki sauce used is ok, left to be desired. It's great you get a side with your meal, soup or salad. The miso soup was good. They make great Japanese fried rice here. I love how you can add egg (2 eggs) for additional cost. You can choose fried or scrambled and I tell you, they make a perfect fried egg. Sauces. Didn't have the yum yum, but I'm sure it's not different than any other. Their ginger dressing is really good. I wish they had a brown ginger sauce. They also have a white sauce that was really good too. And a chili sauce is available. I'm impressed with the variety of sauces they have. Now if they would only have a hot or spicy mustard.... I wouldn't come back if I'm craving hibachi, but if I'm hungry and want some good Japanese teriyaki, I'd come back. read more

Fantastic. So thrilled that there is a fast-casual hibachi place in Short Pump now. Food was great, especially for the price. We loved the chicken, noodles, and vegetables. The vegetables taste just like you ordered at a cook-at-your-table hibachi restaurant. The salad dressing is phenomenal, too. Gave this place a try as it's nearby and saw some people posting about it. Ordered a steak hibachi with noodles and veggies and a shrimp hibachi with fried rice and veggies. Both orders came with a tiny salad. I like the self serve computer kiosk but when I ordered and tried to pay it wasn't working. I did ask the staff for help and it still didn't work so I had to pay at the cash register which was inconvenient. We got our food about 10 minutes after ordering and it wasn't busy at all on this rainy day. We got our food to go and everything was accurate when we checked at home. The issue is the poor quality and inconsistency. The shrimp was ok but it's obviously cheap quality. The shrimp sizes are some small and medium mix and a little salty. Fried rice was decent hibachi fried rice as well as the sauces. Veggies were decent, cooked very soft and a lot of sauce. I saw other post pictures with red bell pepper in the veggie mix but we got none. The big issue was the "steak" we ordered is terrible quality we couldn't eat it and it's now money wasted. My son loves steak and this was so chewy and gross, it's sliced unevenly cut pieces of cheap quality as opposed to actual hibachi places that cook the steak and dice it up. its very disappointing as steak is one of the more expensive choices on the menu. I know this fast food style type of hibachi will appeal to a lot of people but there were issues with our food that will not make me a repeat customer unfortunately. read more
