I started with the pickle chips which came with a lemon garlic aioli. The lemon and pickles paired together perfectly. The chips were crispy without being dry on the inside. The waitress brought fresh bread with house butter. This was honestly the star of my meal. The bread was warm and doughy and the butter was creamy with a little salt. For my main, I ordered their sirloin along with the redskin mashed potatoes. I eat my steak rare/medium rare and this one came closer to medium/medium well. Having said that, the steak was still tender and the flavor had that flame grilled char. The restaurant was cozy and had eclectic cabin vibes. We were in the area visiting SantaLand and needed a spot for dinner on the way home. The parking lot was full so that was a good sign. It is cozy and rustic inside with fireplaces and tons of decorations ( it was around Christmas). We had a large booth which made it a little awkward for my daughter to feed and watch her son in the highchair, but plenty of room on the table. We started with the shrimp cocktail and pretzels ( only wish the pretzels came with cheese or a savior dip as well). The menu was all over the place and I expected it to be more casual. Solid American food and a good choice for the area. Met my aunt for lunch on a Monday and the lady at the front was so sweet and nice. The atmosphere is nice. The server was very efficient. The food was okay. Limited vegetarian options but I was not expecting a lot. My aunt enjoyed her Ruben but not the coleslaw and my cheese pizza was loaded with cheese but the sauce was a little thicker than I would have liked. The iced tea was great. They were very kind to let us catch up for 2 hours and we never felt rushed and the waiter made sure we had everything we needed the entire time. When we arrived we still had about 25 minutes so we sat at the bar and ordered a few drinks. Bartender was informative on the drafts available and friendly. We Received the text our table was ready and we're promptly seated. Our waitress was friendly and understanding when we requested few extra mins to peruse the menu and specials . Started with a large pretzel to share with standard cheese and hot fudge ( divine.) I ordered the yuengling battered cod dinner ( two sides) and my husband got the yuengling battered fish sandwich w fries. Our meal also came with fresh bread. We both really enjoyed our meals. This spot was just sort of OK across the board. They have an eclectic menu offering steaks, flatbreads, salads, and some seafood. I went with the Big Fish Sandwich and it was fine. They really covered it with a thick layer of beer-batter and serve fries as a standard side, but you can also choose chips, coleslaw (which I didn't understand why it wouldn't just come with the fish), and sweet potato fries for an up charge of $2. The fish was Nicky cooked, but for me personally, I'd have preferred less of the coating as I didn't taste much more than batter and bread. I went with the regular fries as a side and they were ok. Nothing that really stood out, but a solid fry. I think I set myself up for disappointment as I expected more for the price of $15. I also tried some of the Reuben and it was a bit bland. I feel as though the Reuben is a sandwich that should be a mix of distinct and strong flavor contrasts, but it was somehow bland. There wasn't much of any Thousand Island dressing and the sauerkraut tasted like cabbage and nothing more. It seemed like the group I was with shared the same experience as it was all sort of 'meh', for lack of a better word. I'd be willing to give this place another chance and I'll adjust the rating if I do go back and have a better experience. read more

9/21/24 Husband and I had wonderful dinners! My salmon was perfect and loved the mashed sweet potatoes and for once at a steakhouse my husband's steak was cooked perfectly medium rare! Dessert of cheesecake w/whipped cream( you were out of blueberries) and caramel was terrific! And our waitress, Victoria was great! Will definitely be coming back. The restaurant decor itself is very interesting. A mix of hunting lodge mixed with a speakeasy feel, kinda dated. We tried the Hornet Fires aka their version of "poutine" and I will use that term very loosely. The entire plate was salty, and undercooked pork! Would not recommend at all. The other appetizer we had was General Taos Cauliflower Wings, which were actually very tasty, put together well, and exceptional! We stuck with the sandwiches for this visit as their entrees were way over priced. I would say the sandwiches, while seemed interesting, unique, and original were simply diminished by the fact they were just a giant ball of grease. If that's your thing, go for it, but I left feeling worse than when I arrived. Overall I would not recommend. They have a great place that could be something greater but falls way short. read more

Passing through the area and stopped in for dinner expecting typical grill food. Very pleasantly surprised at the variety of options on the menu. We selected crab cakes and a double chop dinner. We were not disappointed at all. Big chunks of delicious crab seasoned and grilled perfectly, over a nice dill sauce and accompanied by sautéd zucchini that looked so delicious it converted my squash-hating fiancé. His chops, with a hot honey glaze, and the whipped sweet potatoes were amazing. So glad he got the double, enough to share. The people were really friendly- we were asked how we were doing possibly too many times, actually, though we were there at a weird time and it seemed like the staff were just a little bored. The food was reasonably priced for what the selection was- but the portions were huge. Tasted good too, though sadly we couldn't really take the leftovers back with us. This was our first time there and we had never even heard of this place ! We had a large party they got us all in quickly and even got us to sit together. We had great service they had great choices of beer and wine. They had a lot on the menu !! However we didn't get our appetizer till we got our food which was ok !! You get fresh bread also in the meantime. We got the buffalo pierogis they were home made and awesome. Their ranch was also good. My wife got the chicken Ramona that was absolutely the best chicken I've ever had. So good the fries were also good and I got the Reuben which was good. Me & my husband having been going there for 10+ years. Very often. The manager knows us. I am very disappointed in their selection of salad. if you are trying to diet & don't want fries on your salad - and don't like egg - all that is left is lettuce and cheese and tomato. Not worth the price. The blackened chicken and white balsamic dressing is fantastic. I'm afraid we will be taking a break from going there until they offer more vegetables on their salad. Randomly in town for business, and in a town full of quick little fast food restaurants, this is a treat! It was packed during a Friday lunch rush which is always a great sign. We started with the cast iron spinach dip...I could have had only this for my lunch and left as happy as could be, get it, cheesy deliciousness. My actual lunch was very very good as well, I recommend the crab cake BLT...but I believe they are known for their steaks. Couldn't have been friendlier staff as well. Nice roll , broccoli was great, potatoes and gravy very good. Unfortunately the prime rib was tasteless. Had to salt and pepper for any flavor. The au jus was like water. The lighting had done issue and do kept striving throughout dinner we asked and were told it happens all the time. Our waitress never introduced herself and seemed bothered that we were there near the end of her shift. Asked for wine- she did not know it was out. The wine we ordered was warm. Asked about the special and she said "it's ok, is that what you want?" Ordered the nachos. Shrimp were not blackened as advertised but the cheese sauce was good. Soups came out seconds after the appetizer. When entree came potatoes were cold and steaks were only slightly better. After waiting for her to return, she did go and reheat the potatoes. Asked if we were going to eat our dessert there. Seemed bothered that we said yes. Dropped the check and said "no rush". Stark contrast to the server/bartender that was there. He was personable, gave guests at the bar options (mushrooms or onions with steak- we didn't even know that was an option, thanked guests and told them to have a nice evening). I have been a a server and I usually over tip staff. I had a hard time even giving 10%. Could have been nice. Just felt like we were annoying the server and she basically said she had had a long day and was done. We already knew without the announcement. Wished we had the gentleman! He actually "served" his guests. This was not the hotel's first choice. Should have listened to the desk clerk. Would have had a better time at the Italian place. read more

Food is mediocre. Service is horrible. Very very slow. Took a very long time just to get drinks and food took 50 minutes for burger and fries. After we were done eating it took another half hour to get the bill. While we were wait in the bill we watched the bartender ignore patrons to chat with a older gentleman at the end of the bar. People at bar order beers and it took so long for bartender to bring them drinks that they were done eating and left full glasses of beer at the bar. This place is a shit show!! read more
