I am kind of picky, as I smoke most of my own meats. I do not smoke brisket very often due to cost. Our family of 4 ate here on 11/27/25 and the brisket was the most disappointing brisket I have eaten in years! The Urbana location is always tender and almost falls apart. The meat at this location was so tough that you had to have a sharp knife and good teeth. The pulled pork, my luck of the draw, was very fatty but tasted good. The smoked turkey my daughter had was good as well. I felt really let down, 85 bux later and most of the brisket came home to warm up and gnaw through after Thanksgiving. read more

Disappointing, Chopped brisket was more like roast beef. Sauce was the only thing that gave it flavor. Ribs had little better flavor but were on the dry side. Chili for a side was the best of the three. Unfortunately it was less than a 1/2 cup. It does have kind of a cool bar. $36 for a modest plate and very watered down ice tea. Great place in Mahomet for a quick bite or sit down meal. The loaded nachos are my fave for something quick!

The meal was sub-par with portion sizes surprisingly small for a $40 dollar meal for example we got 6 small pieces of sausage for about 6-8 dollars. The restaurant was also filthy with the cups with water stains and such, just buy some disposable cups! There was next to no service provided other than ordering and picking up the orders, half the order able weren't even cleared when there was next to no people. read more

The restaurant is nice and clean. The ribs were meaty and cooked well. 4/5. They didn't put sauce on them although we requested it. Service was fast. We had baked beans, potato salad, and mac & cheese for the sides. We were not a fan of any of them. Also did not enjoy the cornbread. I wish the peach cobbler was served warm instead of cold. Happy I got to try this place but probably won't return. read more

Over all the food was ok. Signs said "real Texas Barbecue". Missed the mark. I got the brisket with coleslaw and ranch beans. The beans were ok, more of chili then back beans. Flavor not bad. Coleslaw was sweet vinegar which was also not bad. Brisket meat was soft but missed the mark on the smoked flavor typical of a good Texas BBQ. The meat without sauces was flat. Texas BBQ should have a good hickory flavor. Service more along lines of fast food joint. So I have had better BBQ in California. read more

Good service, you always feel welcome when you come in. One of the employees came around during our meal to make sure everything was good. I had the brisket and pulled pork. The brisket was dry and definitely needed the sauce. The pulled pork was better, but also needed more sauce. It would be great to have the sauce at the table (or by the utensils) - the sauces are good, but you never get enough when they spoon it on for you (and you can't try the other ones). They could turn the air down a notch - it is always freezing in there. read more

I realize this restaurant just opened up & so please take this review lightly. I'm hoping that I will be able to post a 5 star update after our next visit. Anyways, my wife & I found the staff really friendly but they were disorganized. The sandwich maker had to strain to see the pickup counter screen. This led to a 20 minute wait between ordering and receiving our food. We ordered a BBQ plate & a sandwich with 2 sides to go. Food was delicious except for the missing cornbread that was part of with the BBQ plate. I love their cornbread!! Noticed an employee trying to take out cardboard but couldn't open the backdoor. The manager helped open the door instead of both of them helping the kitchen staff first which was behind the handful of orders they had. We noticed some people had trouble hearing the order numbers being called. Maybe using a microphone could help solve this. read more

I was really excited to try this place and give it a great review since it was opening in my neighborhood at Carle at the Fields. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with their food, particularly the meats. My husband and I went during their first week of opening so I expected the food to be amazing and fresh. Boy, we were wrong. The brisket was SUPER DRY that it was very tough to chew. I can honestly say these were the worst brisket I've ever had at a bbq place. The ribs were also dry but at least it tasted decent. It's like they were doing the bare minimum on their food. Their only saving grace from me giving them a 1 star review was because their sides were pretty good. They are way better than Black Dog's sides which isn't really that high of a bar. We will most likely not go back which is a shame but that's what happens when you serve terrible food the first week of opening. read more

Cole Slaw was good, Smoked Texas Tater was good, French Fries were good, Pulled Pork Sandwich was good, but the Half Slab Baby Back Ribs were less than stellar. There was more meat on the Pulled Pork Sandwich. Sandwich was $7 and the Ribs were $19. A real disappointment. Not much meat on the ribs and the ribs were dry. My advice is to get everything else except the ribs. read more

Bussin. BBQ sauce banging and pork tender like I was at my uncle backyard cookout. Line was a bit long; however, I would for sure go again because the wait was beyond worth it. I don't know what these other people in the reviews are talking about, this food was heat; absolute fuego. I've never left a review before, but this food got me acting some type of way. The store is clean, new, and fresh; in addition, the environment is brimming with the cookout feel. My whole entire family went IN on our meals, nothing left to take home. Second time at this new location. First time they were sold out of half of what we wanted. This time ordered online - left out our fries and messed up on the sauce to be in the side. Turkey was awful. Grocery store cold cut quality, warmed up with sauce. Salty, not smoked. Pork and brisket were a little better but pretty dry. Pricey for what you get. Quantity in combos not worth it. Sides were also small. Pretty sure we won't try it again. read more
