I was looking for a coffee shop near San Clemente beach and saw this place had good reviews. I enjoyed the aesthetic and vibe of this place. I thought the logo and name are cute. Inside was very clean and spacious with plenty of seating. The employees were very nice and i did not have to wait long for my drink. I ordered the matcha with vanilla flavoring and oatmilk. It was a good quality matcha but it was not sweet at all and did not taste like vanilla. If you don't like an earthy matcha this might not be for you. Another down side is that it is really pricey i paid almost 12 dollars for a large which is a 20 oz. The cheapest size looks like a sample cup. It was good quality matcha but for the price i would rather go elsewhere next time.
I visited on a weekday around noon. It's located on a side street and there seemed to be plenty of street parking, although I had parked a couple blocks away and just happened to stumble upon this place while walking around. The interior is small but architecturally cool, with a tennis theme. There is a tiny patio in the back with a couple of tables and a lattice that provides some shade. I ordered a hot vanilla latte and a Nutella croissant from their pastry case. As is often the case at small coffee shops, there were no available seats at tables as all were taken by remote workers/students with their laptops. They have a narrow counter that was empty, so I ordered "for here" as I really wanted to relax and enjoy the coffee. I sat at the tiled counter and appreciated that my pastry was served on a ceramic plate and latte in a mug. The pastry was fresh with a flaky-crisp exterior and a bountiful amount of Nutella stuffed inside. The vanilla latte was served at immediate drinking temperature and the quality of espresso was excellent with a delectable vanilla under-flavor. Although this is "Happy" Coffee Club, the employees seemed emotionless and filled with ennui. Not welcoming or friendly at all. Once finished, I didn't see a place to return my plate & mug so decided to be nice and bring them to the counter. I was chastised and told that there is a tub on a shelf above the water station for dirty dishware. They also serve beer and wine here, which is probably what one needs to truly be in the Happy Club.
I came in without reading reviews bc it's a cute concept. Branding is cute but that's where it ends. Some event going on and the owner was there as was her kid who slurped the top of the whipped cream canister and put it back into the fridge. Check the cameras 5:30pm today before you blast it on insta. Now for the drinks - weak, light and overpriced. Lemon bar was very white and lacked coffee. I suggest going to picnic since that coffee was bold, cute and delicious.
Cute spot in San Clemente which offers delicious coffee, espresso, and matcha, along with tasty pastries, including gluten-free options which is a plus. Staff is super friendly and helpful.

I ordered a flat white and a strawberry matcha with oat milk. Both were good and we'd like to come back to try other drinks and their pastries.

My wife and I came here for a business meeting down in San Clemente and the area itself is beautiful, so it was a great setting overall. We stopped into Happy Coffee Club and I ordered a Vanilla Latte with Vanilla Cold Foam while my wife got a Vanilla Matcha with Cold Foam. The Vanilla Latte was good, but a little too sweet and a bit too milky for me. The Cold Foam honestly was not needed, especially since there was already a cream base at the bottom that I was not expecting, so it just made the whole drink feel a little overdone. Still enjoyable, just not something I would rush back for. The Matcha unfortunately missed pretty hard. It was very watery and lacked that creamy, slightly bitter, smooth matcha flavor you would expect. It just felt watered down and did not hit at all. That being said, the service was very sweet. Everyone there was super patient and helpful while we were figuring out what to order. The space itself is also really cool with a nice outdoor patio and a small, quaint interior that would be great for studying or getting some work done. Overall, cool spot and great vibe, but the drinks were nothing too special. I would come back for the atmosphere, just probably not for the Matcha.
overall, loved the vibe of this coffee place, laid back, relaxed, and a great place to do some work. high communal table in the middle, and bench seating along the outside. we had some drinks from their summer menu (the banana dreams latte & the coconuts for cold brew). you can definitely taste both the flavors in the drinks. we also tried the bailey heiber (kinda pricey, but at least it was tasty) and a lemon cinnamon roll. the servers were nice and brought our drinks to our table.
What a cute coffee shop, offering a variety of comfortable indoor and outdoor seating options -- conducive for hanging out! I don't usually order milk-y coffee drinks; I prefer more of a straight coffee or Americano; however, decided to change it up this visit. My Flat White (with oat milk) was delightfully balanced with a velvety layer -- not too rich -- a luxurious afternoon treat! Service was welcoming, friendly, and helpful. I was informed that their attractive pastries come from a variety of bakeries. Fabulous find... and they're open until 8:30 P.M. daily!
Super cute place with great coffee! They have almond milk as well unlike Kuli which went downhill with their coffee! Lots of seating inside and outside cute little patio in the back. New favorite place in San Clemente! A must stop for coffee! Highly recommended!
Happened on this cute coffee shop about a mile away from the beach. Cute and cozy interior, DJ playing in the small back patio area. We were welcomed by a sweet and smiling staff member. We ordered the Banana Matcha, Banana Latte, Americano and a Lemon Vanilla Latte. Very smooth and bright flavors for all drinks. Lemon Loaf Slice was moist and delicious.
I drove by Happy Coffee Club earlier this week and was interested in stopping in just because the building is so cute! The big windows and funky artwork totally draw you in, and once you're inside the staff is so kind and friendly. I ordered a 16oz iced latte and added sugar free vanilla and sugar free raspberry syrups. I'm diabetic and always really appreciate when sugar free syrup is an option, and these ones tasted great! Next time I'm in town I'll probably come here to work for a couple hours. Parking is tricky, but to be expected as it's in old town San Clemente.

I ordered an iced almond milk maple matcha, and it was a great way to start my morning! The matcha itself was flavorful and smooth. My only complaint is the price. My total was over $10, which felt pretty steep, especially since the drink was a few ounces smaller than what I typically get elsewhere. There are several nearby coffee shops that offer matcha of similar quality for less, so it left me feeling like I didn't quite get the value I expected. That said, the matcha was genuinely delicious--so at least they got that part right! read more

Happy Coffee Club is one of my favorite spots! The vibe is so cute, and the back patio is the perfect place to relax. I love going early in the morning with my pups, grabbing a coffee or an iced matcha, and just hanging out for a bit. The coffee is always good, and the matcha is one of my favorites. I know they also serve wine and beer, which sounds perfect for an afternoon or evening visit. I haven't made it there for the late-night vibe yet, but it's definitely on my list! read more

The coffee is okay and it's overpriced. The customer service, however, is terrible. I had an issue with my order, and when I went back to explain what happened, I was met with a dismissive attitude and no interest in making it right. What really lost my business wasn't the issue itself it was seeing how they handle criticism. Instead of responding professionally, they post negative reviews on Instagram and mock their customers. I prefer to support businesses that treat customers with respect, even when they receive negative feedback. read more

Having been here twice, I will say the coffee is average and pricey for what you're getting. I paid $14 for two small lattes that my partner and I finished in like three sips. The vibes at this establishment are off and the girls were awkward. I was following their coffee account on instagram and they made a post today responding to their one star reviews... The customer forgot their croissant and went back another day I'm sure hoping you'd resolve their issue by being understanding and possibly giving them a replacement but to say "that's now how croissants work" on a post comes off unprofessional and like you lack hospitality toward your clientele. That was an ick. One more thing! if you care about where you spend your money in terms of politics, the owners are MAGA. I wish I had known before hand so I could've stayed away. Parking here sucks too. read more

I've been wanting to try this place after seeing it all over social media. It was such a cute small place and loved the theming, but prices are quite high. I got their seasonal specialty latte which had cookie butter and cold foam and added oat milk (+$1) and the drink came out to be over $10 so pretty pricey for just an okay drink. Parking is pretty limited (mostly just street parking) but expected for a beach town. Overall, great vibes, just wish prices weren't so high and parking was easier. read more

Even if they are a MAGA supportive family, I actually welcome it and so does the city I'm sure. But everything is way overpriced. A coffee and pastry for one person is an easy $20. Often hard to find sitting but the shop itself is cute. Maybe hire some friendlier baristas lol. read more
Happy Coffee Club is a newer coffee shop near the Downtown area of San Clemente. This is an aesthetic coffee shop, lots of green and tennis decor. They had great seating inside and on a patio, perfect for coworking. Happy Coffee Club has way more than coffee! They had many signature drinks and even alcohol. The baristas there were very nice. We tried a maple latte and lavender/vanilla matcha, both were pretty good, we enjoyed the matcha more than the coffee. The food and pastries there looked so yummy, I will need to try next time. read more

Cute and clean coffee shop just a few blocks up from the beach. We got our iced coffees and enjoyed the modern and quaint coffee shop for a bit before heading down to the beach to enjoy some sun. The shop also has some quality shirts/sweatshirts as well! The customer service was great and everyone was friendly, greeting us when we walked in and a friendly goodbye as we left. Coffee wasn't too sweet like other places, it was quite nice! Will definitely be back next time we are in town. read more
Came here because it's new and we want to support local of course! My husband's coffee came out very quickly but my smoothie took what felt like forever and it seemed like the people in the back didn't have much urgency but the owner noticed and gave us a free cookie. I'm sure it's overwhelming with a new business and managing everyone to your standard which is why I want to give grace! Give this place a try it's very cute inside and to me, is exactly what I imagine when I think of a beach town coffee shop! read more

I was so excited to try this place. I follow the baker who makes the bagels for this place. It is so beautiful inside this coffee shop. There's no parking so beware you will have to park far. The lady taking my order was not friendly. Kinda throws off the whole Vibe of this place. They all look miserable, talked at a low voice. Looked annoyed when she had to repeat herself. Finally, a family friendly coffee shop you actually want to go to! Not only do they have the best Matcha in south OC but the ambiance is next level cute! Just when I thought it couldn't get better last weekend I tried the salted rosemary bagel, and it blew my mind! My kids love to play in the back while mommy gets to enjoy her caffeine. The staff is friendly and all live up to the name happy coffee club! read more

The Dirty Chai was bomb! The back patio was great for hanging out & catching up on some laptop work. The service was awesome, the person that took my order also brought out my coffee & moved an umbrella to the table I was at to catch some shade. The place, the staff, the vibe 10/10 recommend. read more
