This place is a complete fraud! I called to re-book our cabin due to a family emergency, the woman on the phone told me to call back with the date and they would apply the deposit. I call back 30 minutes later and they tell me that was incorrect and the woman answering the phone had no idea what she was talking about! Why is she answering your phones then? Anyways, the woman was rude and would not re-book the cabin, we lost our deposit and we will never stay or recommend this resort. It's obvious that they aren't a first class business or else they would have someone answering calls who knew what they were doing, or they would have re-booked the reservation. Checked in yesterday and inspected our cabin, 4093. It wasn't clean so we used our own cleaning products and washed the sheets. After a long drive and cleaning the place, I just was trying to sleep and saw a cockroach run across the floor. I jumped up and my family and I vacated at 11:30 pm with my 7 month old, and as we were leaving we saw another roach. We stayed at a hotel and met with management the next day. Some "Christian" organization. They only want your money. Would absolutely not refund, said we either stay there or not, they had our money. We also bought a ton of groceries we couldn't use. This is a health hazard and they didn't care. Also the hot tub leaked through the floor, unsafe, wasn't even hot and we found weed in the bed, although they "cleaned."......we will never be back and will take this as far as we need to get justice. Who wants to stay in an unclean, roach infested cabin?? I don't care how good the views are. This is negative zero stars for me. read more

Very nice resort. We stayed in 5116 and it was great. It had a hot tub, a soaker tub in the bedroom, a shower with a lot of shower heads and the decor was super cute. It was a little bit of a drive to get there but I really like that. I would definitely recommend them. We only stayed one night which you can't get many places. read more

We came over Memorial Day weekend and rented five of the houses. Great location and nice for large parties. The houses are well used and could be redone. We had a storm and power went out, no candles or flashlights. Next time we will know what extras to bring! It gave us a chance to be in the heart of everything and not drive in from Gatlinburg everyday while here. Thanks for the memories! read more

The office at Hidden mountain resorts put a review on Google Maps under my review saying they should have handled things differently and they have no documentation of us complaining and said that could be an office oversight of not documenting -of the bug especially HUGE INFESTION of Large carpenter ants and they were issuing a credit of 163.00 for one night. I then replied to them on this same review that was not ACCEPTABLE. How professional and customer care is it to respond to a customer over a google map review site?? My response to this is this resort is deceiving, mismanaged, dirty filthy, infested with bugs mold and who knows what else. Before making a reservation I called and spoke with 2 office staff and Serena the office manager 2 times verifying the cabin was clean bug free and very nice. All responses were we would love the cabin very clean and what we saw online was what the cabin was like. I then booked this. When we arrived on that Sunday the cabin was not ready and we could not view the cabin without paying the remaining balance due. Should have been a huge clue but the resort is landscaped nicely and outside cabins looks well kept. Looks were very DECEIVING! We got to the cabin and noticed some things - and had gone and gotten groceries. We then found out the refrigerator was not working and immediately called the office - 2 hours later I called again and asked when maintenance would be there and was told they were extremely busy and he showed up about 8-8:30. Confirmed it wasn't working and would call an appliance guy Monday. I asked if they had another fridge or something for our food and his reply was that we could use the freezer part since it was working of which I replied your Kidding right?? I then called the office and asked them what they could do and he replied that Id have to buy cooler and ice which we did. I asked the office guy if there were any other cabins and he said no and I asked to be compensated and he said they do not do that. We tried to find another place to stay but could not find a cabin in that short of notice as this area is highly busy in July. The office said they do not do refunds. The next morning no one knew what was going on with the fridge and we got out of there and took a drive when we returned there was a fridge sitting on the front porch. No note - nothing. I called the office and no one knew what was going on with the fridge and we'd have to wait for the maintenance guy again cause they were busy. They showed up an hour later and said owners of cabin wanted to replace the fridge. When they moved the old fridge out the floor was nasty and he asked me if I had a rag to clean it up- like I was going to clean that nasty floor and I handed him paper towels we had just bought. They then realized the fridge was too large for the hole and took some baseboard off and then tried to shove it in. The ended up doing a shoulder football move until it was jammed as far back as it would go which wasn't far. The icemaker from that time on had water draining out the back as the fridge was tilted. ARE YOU GETTING THE PROFESSIONALISM AND CUSTOMER SERVICE HERE ???? I then proceeded to tell him the cabin was dirty, there were ants and silverfish all over and the hot tub was leaking all over the carpet on the porch. His reply was he would tell the office and that it was normal for the hot tubs to leak. I then showed him all the missing tile on the walls of the tub and the shatter broken chipped and hole in the floor in front of the shower that had a mold smell. The air vents had dust lint and who knows what else blowing down the rugs were filthy and we covered the couch with a sheet as it was also nasty. My husband then took the towels to the office to exchange and told the office personally about the bugs and how bad the ants were/especially Carpenter ants were. The reply he received was we were staying in the mountains and that could be expected. There was never any mention of getting anyone out there or they were surprised. This place knows what its doing with not letting you see unit and no refunds. Doesn't matter you have also spent 2 days of your vacation dealing with the broken refrigerator. I went to use the washer and dryer and upon opening the lid the washer smelled so very bad of mold. Then the ant problem went to an all time high and I got up in the middle of the night to use the toilet and while sitting there in the dark I felt all these things crawling up my legs. IT WAS THE LARGE CARPENTER ANTS CRAWLING UP MY LEGS AND IN MY PAJAMA BOTTOMS. I BEGAN TO TRY AND KILL EVERYONE I SAW!!! I tried to go back to sleep and finally did to wake up to things crawling on me and I had ants in the bed in my hair on my legs and in my pjs. I got up to get all off of me and in the wooden slatted walls it was like a total infestation of the ants crawling in lines through the wood where the wood panels meet. We rented Jess' Cabin in April. It was beautiful and comfortable. We loved being able to have a fire with a push of a button. The bed was comfortable. We didn't get to enjoy the rocking chairs on the front porch as much as we wanted but that was because it snowed one day while we were there. The resort is beautiful. The front office was very helpful. My only complaint would be we rented the cabin based on the pictures showing it to be a handicap accessible bathroom. It did have rails by the toilet but the shower door only opened half way and it was impossible to get my husbands wheelchair close enough to get to the shower chair (that we brought). We had to do some work to get him in the shower. read more

River Lodge was rented for our church Ladies Retreat (March 2022). We were so hoping that our yearly accommodations search for this retreat was over. Just a few things to be aware of: 1- The stairs in this cabin are steep and narrow. Older people are NOT going to be able to go up & down. 2- The backyard was a draw for us. We were disappointed to see that it's totally on a slope. Again, not everyone was physically able to enjoy it. 3- The bathrooms are not user friendly. Nowhere to put toiletry bags. Not even a lid on the toilet seats. Three showers had broken sliding doors. One fell off the track while I was taking a shower...into the shower. Someone could be hurt with this. We called maintenance. The young man was quick to respond and "rigged" up the doors. They need to be replaced!! 4- All kitchen utensils had to be washed before using. Dried food was on several pieces. Tea pitchers are stained and very old. As was most stuff in this cabin. 5- We planned a cookout (because of the backyard). The grill was in the front, on the edge of the driveway. After seeing the sloped backyard, that's understandable. Disappointment there. 6- The A/C was just a mess! It was either freezing or burning up. I'm sure there was a trick to this. But, with no instructions I had no idea what to do. 7- Water pressure in one room was super strong, another room was horrible. 8- The hot tub was not so hot. Barely lukewarm. When the maintenance man arrived to fix the shower doors he turned up the thermostat (still not very hot) and then explained that it wasn't truly a "hot tub". Most of the things I've mentioned are not fixable, some are. People just need to be aware of the issues we had. Our search for an annual location will continue. read more

I recently stayed in cabin 4083 - Nature Sings - in the East Hidden Mountain community as part of a group of 17. It was a beautiful, large, clean cabin with seven bedrooms and seven bathrooms - each bedroom had a private bathroom, which was very nice. There was an outdoor pool shared with two other cabins and a lovely deck area with two enormous gas grills and several picnic tables. The grounds throughout the resort were well-kept and this cabin was no exception. We had a few snafus upon arrival. The wireless didn't work, a TV in one of the bedrooms didn't work, and the refrigerator and freezer weren't getting cold enough. These issues were all dealt with promptly by management and everything was quickly back in working order. The living room had only a single couch and two rocking chairs for seating, which seemed a bit sparse for a seven bedroom cabin. However, what was there was nice. The basement recreation area had a bit more seating, but the big screen projection television down there was almost unusable. It was so dark we could barely see the programs/movies. This really needs to be upgraded. The pool table was a big hit with the children and they enjoyed spending time down there despite the TV not being useful. Each level had a large porch with numerous rocking chairs, swings, and seats. These were nice. The main level porch also had the hot tub, which worked very well. We didn't use it a great deal because it was so hot that we preferred to cool down in the pool, instead. It was fabulous to have the pool right outside the door! The pool itself was clean enough, but the deck could really use a good power washing because the concrete was quite green around it. My bed slept comfortably - it was neither too hard or soft. Everyone else in our party seemed satisfied with their sleeping accommodations, except for the bottom bunk of the small upstairs bedroom. It was broken and the mattress was actually lying on the floor. We forgot to mention this when we spoke with management early on about the issues we had. The washer and dryer worked very well and it was nice to have them available. The stove, microwave and dishwasher all worked well. We had no complaints with them. The refrigerator worked well after maintenance looked at it. The dining table was large with plenty of chairs. The location of the Hidden Mountain East cabins is fantastic! It seemed so much closer to everything than cabins we've stayed in in the Wears Valley Road (turn right at traffic light #3 in Pigeon Forge) area. Everyone was pleased by the cabin's close proximity to the attractions we wanted to visit. Overall, I would stay at this cabin again. It wasn't perfect, but it was beautiful, we had plenty of room and bathrooms for everyone in our party, and the rate couldn't be beat! Even though we had some concerns, they were quickly addressed by management and we were certainly satisfied by their customer service. We also appreciated the lack of extra fees. My friends and I stayed here for about a week and will never do so again. We rented a cabin so that we would be able to cook some and spend a week hiking and enjoying pigeon forge and gatlinburg. One reason we will never stay again was probably my fault - it's only 12 miles from the closest hiking but that could mean well over an hour with traffic. I would highly recommend staying in or closer to gatlinburg if you plan to do more than one hike. There were two days we would have hiked but didn't due to traffic. Plus, you'd think there would be some sort of hiking/ walking in or around the 'resort'. The answer is no unless you want to walk in the street. Now to the cabin itself - first off roaches - I know we are in the woods but I have to say that I've stayed in 3 other cabins (in gatlinburg and other parks) and never had roaches. What was even more concerning is that the staff really didn't seem to care, they did have someone come out to spray but no apology nothing. In fact, when we told them we saw roaches again the day after they sprayed they said they would send someone again and never did and never even bothered to follow up. The kitchen had a terrible layout (dishwasher blocked the cabinet for the dishes and overall cramped) and was not well equipped (missing things like sponges or something to clean dishes with, measuring cups and Tupperware). The jacuzzi only ran cold water. Also, they only come empty the trash if you call them... I would think if we were there for a week, given the small trash can outside it would be standard. Finally, the towels were terrible - very worn and little more than a hand towel. So, if your not planning on doing a bunch of hiking or cooking and don't mind roaches, bring your own towel. We slept with the lights on every night but didn't sleep much at all. We did wash/ clean everything before we left so we wouldn't bring anything home. And the last two days we didn't see any more roaches... read more

After reading reviews, particularly a negative one about my cabin (#4083 Review was written in 07/16) I was hoping the reviewer was just extra picky OR repairs/upgrades had been made since we were going in 04/17. I was wrong. The middle floor restrooms (both of them!) leaked into the lowest floor bathrooms. It had been going on for some time because tile had come up in one bathroom and the floor was so soft a friend thought she may step through! The floorboards in our bathroom creaked so loudly that it woke up people in the room below us every time one of us got up to use the restroom. The lowest floor had a musty odor, dog hair (they think) in the sheets of the bed, and roaches were spotted crawling on the night stand. We could not stay another night. We left and went to a hotel in town. After discussing with the management, they agreed to refund one of our two nights. It seems that we really should have had both nights refunded seeing as they put us in a cabin with known problems. Major problems. I will not return. read more

Pretty nice cabin. Full kitchen, jacuzzi, hot tub, and bedroom in the loft. Our cabin (4022) had a sofa bed downstairs also. Could accommodate 4 people. Downside was very steep and narrow entry to the cabin. Don't bring your monster truck though. Not much room to turn around. If I were to come back (and I will) I would try to reserve cabins with easier access. Great ambiance with gas fireplace, wifi, and large flat screen tv. Very close to Pigeon Forge. read more

I love love love this place! My family has been vacationing in Pigeon Forge since I was a little kid and with only one exception, we have stayed in a Hidden Mountain cabin every single time. I highly recommend the cabins on the west side if you want to be closer to Pigeon Forge. Every place we've stayed has been decorated to match the theme and are all very cozy. I definitely encourage getting a cabin with a porch swing, a jacuzzi, and a view. If you're going for relaxation, it's well worth it. Make sure if you go in the winter that you have a car that can handle serious hills in the snow though, as some of the cabins are trickier to get to. The only reason I have 4 stars instead of 5 is that now when I come to Pigeon Forge I can't stay here because of my dog. They only have 2 pet friendly units and they're not the cozy cabins that make you want to stay here. read more

ITS a nice place although not that near to the parkway like other resorts. I have stayed here a couple of times in the past, but I feel this place is not what it use to be in the past. There are many homes for sell and its more a subdivision with many cabins and its not trending that much like before. . I truly like more SKY Harbor because it really is located up the mountain and its convenience location to both GAT/ Pigeon Forge. I recommend renting directly thru VRBO with owner and you are better off with the smaller cabins ( studio - 1 bedroom) they are better kept, cleaner ,more cozy and cheap. read more

LOVE THIS PLACE.... My wife and I stayed here on our honeymoon March 7th - 11th 2015. We just got back home from our 1st anniversary. We went back to the same cabin. For the 2nd year in a row, everything was perfect. In response to some other reviews... a jacuzzi tub always smells bad when you first uncover it. There was a description on why it smells bad on our jacuzzi at cabin 5126. all we do is uncover it, Give it a few minutes to cool off, the smell is gone and it's at perfect relaxing temperature Under the stars.. very very nice. Every jacuzzi I have been to has that smell when it is first uncovered. maybe someone can explain more. I think it has to do with the chemicals in it to keep the water clean. Just like a pool has. I was very disappointed. Our cabin, 4073, was advertised as having a hot tub, but it was broken. After two service calls over two days, the office called to tell us it couldn't be fixed and we were out of luck. I told them I was dissatisfied, and I was given the talk track that they don't know when things in these dated units are going to break, so essentially it was my bad luck. No accommodation or discount was offered, they just expected me to accept being cheated out of this key feature of the property, as if I knew I was taking that risk by staying with them. The location is good, the unit was fairly clean, and the setting is pretty, but this poor service response in a service business is the overriding factor in my experience. They put themselves out as a "Christian owned" business, but don't expect them to do the right thing. read more

We checked in to this place for a Valentine's Day getaway. I booked the cabin because of the romantic fireplace and the awesome huge jacuzzi tub in the master bedroom. When we checked in at the main office, we were informed that the fireplace did not work. They actually compensated by giving us a box of chocolate covered strawberries, which was very sweet. We got to the cabin, and everything was beautiful until we turned on the water to fill the beautiful deep jacuzzi in the master bedroom. There was an OVER POWERING smell of sulfur that filled the whole canon. I called the main office and they said to flush the lines for 15-20 minutes and it should dissipate. They also said that if that didn't work then to call them in the mornings at my convenience and that they would have a maintenance man come out. Well, it didn't work. It literally smelled like the bowels of hell met rotten, hard boiled eggs. This is the smell that we had to deal with. I literally threw up from it. The next morning we called the front desk to have a maintenance man come out. The lady that answered the phone was completely RUDE, and never even sent the maintenance man. We went into town for the day, and came back, and the water STILL STANK. So I called the office AGAIN, and explained what was going on and how we were supposed to have a maintenance man come out, and the guy was RUDE on the phone, and said "what do you want me to do at 10:30 at nigh?!?" I explained that this was the THIRD call, and HE HUNG UP ON ME!!! DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE YOUR MONEY, THEY'RE RUDE AND COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL! read more

We have stayed at hidden mountain at least 7 times over the last 12 years. Every time we come back it seems it is just a little more run down and less comfortable. Since we have a dog we are confined to one of the few cabins in the "old home place" area which is fine if the maintenance and ambiance had been kept. The first time was great with the trees, privacy, wooden walkways, and white picket fence. We had the feeling of being in an old home place as the newspaper articles taught. The next time we came, they were cutting the rotten pieces of the fence off and not replacing them with equal looks. The next time, the trees and landscaping had just been removed and all the board walks had been removed and so far this time, they haven't been replaced. The feeling we get now is a housing subdivision were you have to keep the windows closed in order to have privacy. There is also an issue of maintenance on the cottages themselves. You have to ask when you book whether the unit has a hot tub any longer because some of those have been removed instead of repaired. It would also be nice to reinstate the cabin towel delivery service, which is something they used to have, yet another casualty. It is very awkward taking your dirty towels to the front desk for exchange. Overall I like the convenience and quietness, however we will think twice about booking here again. So the takeaway is that they need to re landscape to provide some of the privacy again and do some maintenance on the cabins! My guess is that they started the no refund policy in response to people booking, getting here, then realizing it wasn't as expected and checked out early. read more

Stayed in cabin 4083. We have stayed here numerous times and it seems the last few years the upkeep has dwindled. The cabin rooms were ok. A couple of the bedroom mattresses did not have a much needed mattress pad, (aren't these required?). The area downstairs with two bedrooms has both spiders and roaches. Now, it is nice having the pool area however, the pool is in need of structural repairs. There are large cracks throughout the pool itself and if you look at the structure underneath it is obvious the structure has been altered or compromised (I doubt it would pass codes.). The cabin should have daily garbage picked up on a routine basis without having to call to schedule pick up. There tends to be a lot of trash with it being such a large cabin. Also it would prevent trash overflowing which inevitably attracts skunks and raccoons. It isn't fun having to wake up in the morning having to pick up trash scattered by critters. This location has the potential of being a really nice rental. read more

I had made a deposit 9 months in advance. Over 90 days prior to my check in date, I had a serious medical problem that would not allow me to be gone for my reservation. I contacted the office and was told they would "hold" my deposit until the end of the year. I attempted to see if I could break up my stay into smaller increments so as not to lose my deposit and money and continue to recieve medical treatment. They said it had to be consecutive. Whats discouraging as my family has rented from this company for years and they have 3 months to rent my reservation. They were uncaring and uncompromising due to my medical condition. My husband and I paid $1000 for a stay at their cabins. The cabin looked beautiful from the pictures on line...we had great expectations of an enjoyable time. The first cabin was not satisfactory at all....They gave us an address to another cabin. They both were depressing, dirty, and looked as though they were furnished with thrown away furniture from the dump. The furniture was stained, soiled and dirty, the bed in the 2nd cabin kept falling apart. I hated to sit on the couches. I refused to use the filthy kitchens or drink from the dirty glasses or use the old worn out kitchen cloths to try to clean. ...the silverware had crusted food on it. The throw rugs hadn't been washed in years. The bathroom in the 2nd cabin was so old the plastic tub & toilet were yellowed and again stained. Even the towels were so old they were yellowed and stained and threadbare. We left in the middle of the night our first night there. (remember the bed kept falling apart) We called the in the morning and again voiced our complaints...they did not offer a refund...which we did not expect. I was in tears over the deplorable conditions and our ruined vacation. Beware.....as the response we got from them was , "well the owners of the cabins wouldn't agree with you"...no apology, no awareness .... The glass in the sliding doors (which did not have a sufficient lock) had cobwebs as did the entrance to the front door. Stay away, I am sure there are "nice" cabins with higher standards. read more

Rented a rustic one bedroom cabin for 4 days. It was our 30 yr. anniversary, and we looked forward to stay at a cabin to get some quiet rest and rexalation. We had stayed at Hidden Mountain on many occasions in years past. The first night after late arrival we noticed, large black ants crawling over the wall in the bedroom and bathroom. After killing a dozen or more, we went to bed, but knew the office was closed for the night so we did not call. That night, we had ants that joined us in bed, needless to say, got no sleep. When we decided the next morning to go to the office and get out of that cabin and possibly a different one, we noticed many other large black ants crawling in both corners in the bedroom, in addition we saw spiders and webs, and killed at least two brown crawling worms on the floor. That did it for us, we were out of there. At the office, they would not give us another room without paying more, never apologized, and would not let us talk to the owner. Instead, they stated, "well we have creatures that occasionally get in cabins, we can spray for them, you acknowledged that when you signed the contract". We stated we did not want to stay there in that one after spraying, as my wife is allegic to a lot of chemicals and the smell would not be advisible to spend any time further in there until fully aired out. Asked for our money or credit back, or to another cabin, and instead they stated there would be an upcharge to another cabin, we refused as we felt thecabin should have been cleaned and rid of these biting insects. They even stated, you probably dropped some sugary items on the floor. When we said they were not the very small ants, but large black ants on the wall and no we did not even have time to unpack much less drop food items. They were not willing at all to accomodate us, Instead they charged us full amount and a cancellation charge So disgusted with their attitude, we turned and left for home, only for them to say, "Have a nice day" as we walked out. We are now notifying our credit card company to deny those charges. I would not advise staying there! If so, just beware! I will never be back, and will advise all our families to do the same. The list of things that were wrong with our cabin are numerous but, the one thing that upset me the most was the horrible customer service. On the last night of our stay the water went out, not completely, but enough to hinder bathing and washing clothes to pack for home. So I called the office to ask what was up and the clerk that answered laughed at me,and told me that he did not work for the water company, and did not know when it would be fixed. This infuriated me, when I became upset, and asked to speak to the manager he told me that he was the owners brother. He was very rude and arrogant. The cabin was dirty, the beds were hard and very uncomfortable. The DVD players did not work, (with small kids this was a huge issue) The tub leaked into the downstairs closet and the maintenance man told me it was from water running over from the tub, yet the ceiling tile was already missing. This makes me think that it had been a problem for awhile. My grand sons clothes were soaked from this. The pool had several tiles missing on the sides that my special needs nephew cut his finger on. The company advertises the fact that they give discounts every month to different professions, yet when I asked if they gave discounts to disabled vets, the clerk acted like I had lost my mind and said, "no", due to the fact that it was Memorial Day weekend. I would think that would be the time to honor military families ,but hey what do I know. The one good thing I can say about this resort is that the grounds itself are gorgeous other than that, I was embarrassed to have my family stay in this cabin. I almost forgot about the power kicking off while I was trying to cook breakfast, and maintenance having to come flip the breaker back on. Good Grief! read more
