The beer we got from this brewery was Palisade which was a sour and fruited beer that we really liked ! The fruit that does it's work here is Guava and that usually works quite well in beer form! There is also sour, tart, fruity and a dry finish that all rolls together quite nicely. A great layout of flavor and not too sweet at all as some fruit beers encounter this which makes it seem more like Kool-Aid than anything else. Not a problem here at all!

When we entered, we noticed it was a small place, packed with a lot of people, but we loved the vibe, so we decided to stay. The bartenders were really nice. We enjoyed talking to them and learning about the area and the history of the brewery. They explained that they had been in business for about 24 years. Somehow or another I missed it from doing this but caught it when doing a "sweep" to make sure I didn't miss any breweries. So here us a case where it was good to be thorough and proved not to be a waste of time in doing. The beer that I had with Steve was the Headwaters Hazy which was a New England IPA which was a good one! I haven't had one of these IPA's for a while and it was pleasant to have one again. Flavor features with this beer are hoppy with subtle hints of orange and berries. The beer definitely lives up to the "hazy" in it's name as it is most certainly that in appearance. An enjoyable first time beer experience with Sawdust And Steel Brewing!

The beer that I had (and Steve enjoyed too) was the Salmon Fly Honey Rye. Rye beers is a type of beer that I don't come across very often and when I finally do it's a refreshing experience as is the case with this Rye beer. Flavor features to find with this beer are honey, a natural sweetness and rye. The beer is light bodied and has a smooth body to it. A nice change of pace from what you typically come across with beer selections.

I have to say Bunkhouse Brewery was one of my favorites here in town. I thought their beers were creative and more on the experimental side but what really drew me into one of their beers was an ESB (Extra Special Bitter) and the one I had had brown sugar in it which really put a great spin on this beer type I've had on a variety of occasions. The specific name for this beer is the Bozeman Pride ESB. The brown sugar in this beer tempers the bitterness and you can taste the brown sugar itself in the flavor profile. This gives the beer a great complexity which made this beer a super fun and memorable beer to enjoy and drink. I could easily delve in for another time and time again.

What I had here was a beer type I don't often come across so it was very refreshing to get a change of pace. What I had was the Rope Tow Kellerbier. Kellerbiers aren't something I come across often. This beer is an unfinished, unfiltered and naturally carbonated lager. Flavor features involved floral and sweet with a crisp finish. The beer is light bodied which is something I appreciate these days more often than not. The atmosphere is nice with the astroturf look and offered a unique spin in that regard compared to the other breweries I paid a visit to in Bozeman.

I know a bad brewery when I try one but not so sure with distilleries. So bearing that in mind and if you go off of what the other reviews say for what's posted for Wildrye Distilling you will find as an average that they come in at five stars. So if there are more distillery snobs that came here they gave it a ringing endorsement as well as I am doing. Wildrye looks to be in a newer neighborhood and development of mixed business and housing. It's in a nice corner and it was probably one of the busiest places I went to out of all of the numerous places I stopped at in Bozeman. In fact it was so busy it took a while to get a drink order placed and the bartender informed me as such. So I took a seat and waited and got my order placed after a bit. The bartender was so aware of his customers and gave me a little bit of a discount on my drink for the wait despite me never complaining to him about it which was really nice of him to do! The drink I got was a really good one! It was the Basil Smash. And as the name indicates it is indeed loaded with basil. It was extremely refreshing and so very well made! I could easily have had another but I was starting to get into a time crunch and had to make a few other stops before closure but it was worth the wait and whenever I am passing through Bozeman again I will most certainly return!

The ciders were more dry than I expected and not like the cans in the store at all. The building and seating outside are very nice and they are open late. The parking is not great.
