This was my first meal in Sedona during a recent visit. My friend and I tried to make it before sunset for the views, but they had about a 40 minute wait so it was dark by the time we got seated. That's on us, for arriving later than planned. Still, even without a view, Hideaway House is a great place for a relaxing dinner. It's decor has some kitsch to it, in a fun, unassuming way. Service was impeccable and menu items are diverse and innovative. We shared the polenta appetizer, which was huge and stacked with fresh veggies, along with a squash pizza. Everything was amazing! This place is popular for a reason. It's tucked away and no seat on the outside patio looks like it has a bad view. We stopped in for a late lunch with some delicious white wine and mango sangria which was delicious. We enjoyed the meatball appetizer which by the way was a pound of meat and a delicious Greek salad. Still a great spot for lunch with good weather! The tiny parking lot was packed, with people waiting outside for tables, and the Yelp Waitlist was closed. Jim G. and I were worried about a long wait time. For two outside, we waited less than 10 minutes! While we couldn't get a table right on the railing, we still had an impeccable view of the red rocks and enjoyed some lovely spring air! Sam D. was a great server; she was fast, friendly and knew when to give us some space. We started with the Spicy Ranch Water--mezcal for me, ghost tequila for Jim G ($15, with an extra $1 for the ghost tequila). Delicious and refreshing after our hike. We then shared the Filet Mignon Kabob Salad, medium rare of course, ($18) and a small 'Kat's Way' Pizza, which is whatever half-and-half they're doing at the time ($18). Ours was half Peach Pancetta and half Green Goddess. The filet in the salad was cooked perfectly and oh so flavorful and tender; Sam mentioned that they marinated it in their homemade pesto. Both pizzas were good, though Jim G and I agrees that the Peach Pancetta was more flavorful than the Green Goddess. Add to that a bottle of Super Tuscan and we were set! We made our way in for lunch and were seated after about 10 mins. The restaurant is very cute with great views from the patio. Everything on the menu looked really good. We tried the pear and honey crostini, caprese salad and green goddess pizza. Food came out quick and was delicious. The pizza was really flavorful with great crust-light and airy with a bit of a crisp. The crostini and salad were also yummy and very fresh and flavorful. I got a spicy strawberry mocktail with sparkling water and it was so good! The fresh jalapenos provided a nice hit of spice. My friend got the peach mocktail and really liked it. Our server was friendly and attentive and the (presumed?) manager came by to say hi after our meal to see how everything was. After a long hike we were starving for a good pizza and this place has definitely earned a gold medal! It took 15 mins to get seated around 4pm on Saturday. We asked for a patio view which was breathtaking. If you sit in the uncovered patio, asked for blankets! You're welcome The margarita had a cinnamon sugar rim that was on point! Nathan was our server and he was awesome. We got Kats way which is half and half. Bbq and the peach and ricotta. I was shocked how incredible both were. The bacon is so crisp and sweet. We are at the Hideaway house last night. Julie ordered the minestrone soup and I ordered the French onion soup. We also ordered the famous bread loaf. Julie's soup was good. Nothing special about it, but it was very good. The French onion soup on the other hand was absolutely the best French onion I have ever had. Very flavorful and robust. Better than I've ever made. I think I figured out their special ingredient. I'm going to try to replicate it at home. It was so good. I wish I had some now. The bread was not worth the money, my expectation was probably too high. It was basically a very large dinner roll, and the dip was bland. For dessert we ordered a tiramisu to go. It was very good and generously portioned. Not the best, but very good with the ladyfingers well soaked in coffee. I'd have it again. We ate on the back deck and the ambiance was fantastic with the river running below us. I'd go again and do everything the same except get the bread. I'd probably try the meatballs as an app instead. read more

Stopped here after a long day of hiking in Sedona. We did not have a reservation and ended up waiting about 30 minutes for a table outside. I had the peach and pancetta pizza which I found to be absolutely delicious. The crust was tasty the toppings were cooked to perfection. We also ordered the pear crostini which tasted very fresh. The staff were attentive throughout the meal. It was dark when we ate there so we weren't able to see the scenery, but I have heard the views are spectacular. Great Food with a View at The Hideaway House We had a very enjoyable meal at The Hideaway House in Sedona. Sitting on one of their outdoor patios with a view of the stunning red rock mountains made for a perfect dining atmosphere. We started with the chicken wings, which were excellent--large, plump, and served with a great selection of sauces. We also shared a bacon cheeseburger. We always order our burgers rare, and more often than not, they come overcooked. This time, it was actually so rare we joked we might've left it on the grill a little longer ourselves--but it was still absolutely delicious. The service was friendly, the food was well-prepared, and the prices were surprisingly reasonable, especially for a tourist town with such a great setting. They really seem to be doing it right here. What an awesome restaurant within walking distance of all things Sedona. Originally we wanted to sit and enjoy the outside view however sat at the bar and enjoyed drinks and a terrific meal, with just enough view and good accomodations. Service was exemplary, our server Sam was not only good at bartending (great Old Fashioned) she was a great host and relayed that Hideaway was a good place to work. Caesar salad was superior along with the Spicy Calabrian Sausage soup as well as the Mussels, all of which were plenty for a meal after a day of travel and spectacular views. read more

A very unique restaurant with an incredible view. We arrived at around 5:00pm and were able to get seated in about 5 minutes. There were a good amount of people waiting when we left around 6:30pm. The parking lot is on the smaller side, but we were able to find parking in that lot. There's both indoor and outdoor seating available, but we opted to sit outdoors. Our server was very eager to talk to us and she provided a lot of helpful recommendations with the menu. The food took a little bit longer to arrive but everything tasted very fresh. The baked meatball parm was a little heavy on the bread to filling ratio and I ended up with a lot of bites with just plain bread. The bread was good, but I wished there was at least more cheese or sauce inside as well. The salad was a little bit on the soggier side but still tasted good. The pizza was the same way with there being less toppings. The arugula was nice because it was easy to distribute throughout the pizza, but it was technically only a topping for half of the pizza. We also ended up with several bites of just pizza dough, but the texture was nice and fluffy on the inside and the crust was crispy on the outside. The dessert came out nice and warm and was a good way to wrap up the meal. It was not overly sweet and the pecans provided a good crunch. read more

Service was great, atmosphere was amazing! At 55 I've eaten at my share of Italian restaurants, and almost every single one of them I ordered the same thing... Chicken Parmesan. I asked for grilled chicken instead of breaded and was advised against it, as all their chicken was premade and "grill and chill", so for the first time ever I decided to go for the breaded chicken option. The chicken has been so flattened out that all you taste is the breading. I was really disappointed. Also the drink that I get everywhere else that is usually nine bucks... It was 15.
