Have had this place on my "must try" list for a several years.. unfortunately such a let down. We wondered why it was so empty (one other table) at lunch time. We love the founders main restaurant (Dahl & de'Lucca (sp?) and dine there most times we get to Sedona & love it. We have recommended that place dozens of times. THIS PLACE: strange decor, sat at the bar, great friendly bartender & great customer service. We ordered meatballs & mushroom pizza to share for starters for 3... then decided to go elsewhere. The meatballs were ordered with mozzarella (as we were told all their cheeses/ingredients are fresh & imported) - our server had to inform us the chef said "No" to cheese on our meatballs. To be clear- we asked again, and assured him we are fine with an extra charge- again, the chef refused. Flat out refused. Wow. The Food : Meatballs are very small and the bowl looked like a bowl of tomato soup with meatballs ... tasted like bottled sauce & frozen little meatballs. The dish lacked any flavor- like school cafeteria food. Pizza: looked & smelled excellent- crust crispy & chewy, perfectly cooked- but barely any taste. Very slight truffle auroma & taste. Subtle mushroom flavors. Salt did help a little but we opted to go somewhere else for our main meal after the disappointing start. We had to request fresh Parmesan as the little powdered kind was also flavorless/grocery store level either stale from sitting out on the tables or not "imported" as we were told. One question remains... Are patrons allowed to put Parmesan on the meatball soup.. or is that also forbidden? We won't be back and we will NOT be recommending. "Piece of Lisa" was a term of endearment for Chef Lisa Dahl, and now she brings that love & joy to the Village of Oak Creek through Pisa Lisa. Their pizza is fabulous and honestly takes me back to Italy. Her food made for a robust lunch at a fair price for Oak Creek. We did takeout so we could enjoy the stunning views in the privacy of our resort, but the restaurant is quant with an upbeat atmosphere. Impressed and I didn't even try a pizza. Place is near my hotel, right on the 89A main drag in a little strip mall with plenty of parking. Stopped in about 3 for a late lunch after my drive up from San Tan Valley. Greatly warmly with my dog and given a nice big table on the patio. Sun was starting to make it hot out there and my server went inside and lowered the power sunshades. Made it perfect. Started with a 16 oz Stella draft. Very fresh. Ordered the Tomato bisque as it's highlighted on the menu. Wow, don't miss trying this. Tasty. The pizza's looked divine, but too much food just for me. Went with the Exotica Beet Salad with grill chicken add. Fresh greens, beets, Marconi almonds and a wonderful lemon vinaigrette mixed in perfectly ... none of this "on-the-side/DIY" stuff, although I'm sure you could get it that way if you wanted. It was so pleasant once the shades were down, decided to stick around for a gelato. Pistachio and Yuzu rice flavors. Super refreshing. All in $45 pre-tip. This was a nice little sit down pizza spot within walking distance of my hotel, which was a huge plus. It felt great not having to drive far for good food. All of their pizzas come in one size- 14 inches, which was perfect for sharing. We came in as a party of two and ordered the Au Sauvage (their carnivore pizza) along with the arugula salad, Rucola. Both were great. The pizza was thin with a nice crisp, and the fennel sausage was especially tasty and added a lot of flavor. That said, I did find the pizza slightly on the salty side from pepperoni alone. Overall, I'd definitely recommend this spot and would come back again. Delicious pizzas and GELATO. Let me tell you! Their gelato is delicious. I always get a scoop there for dessert and then I get one to take home. You go up to the counter to order and pay, even if you've dined in. I also can't not mention their burrata appetizer, yum! Service is always friendly and our orders have never been wrong. Just left PisaLisa with a Funghi Decadente for my sister-in-law. The pizza there is amazing. The only thing that could exceed it is the crew Decadent Dom and Surfer Guy. He also refilled my water bottle and he didn't quite have enough to fill it all the way. I said it was fine but he went and got more water to fill it up all the way, which I appreciated. After a fun hike in Sedona near Cathedral Rock, my group of friends and myself got hungry and decided to get pizza. We saw Pisa Lisa and went to dine in. We sat out on the patio and ordered a delicious Margherita pizza and shared a salad called Extremo- I love olives so this was great for me! It had plenty of Italian dressing on it. The server was great, he never let our glass get half empty, it was always full. The server also talked us into Gelato, which flavors are subject to change bi-weekly. I had Madagascar vanilla bean and Lemon sorbet Gelato combined in a cup. It was so good and refreshing to finish off our hike day. The bigger issue was the food quality for the price. The chopped salad was VERY overdressed and oily, and the pizza was dominated by the cheese to the point that it drowned out the toppings (we had half mushroom and half sausage). It ended up feeling one-note and heavy rather than flavorful. It was also very overpriced for what we got--and that's saying something coming from the Bay Area. Would not eat here again. read more

This location is the newer location for Pisa Lisa and it is just as amazing! This store is bigger than the original store. Very beautiful! The original store is also beautiful do not get me wrong. I just love their idea for the new one too! we got the appetizer Burrata Caprese and this never disappoints! Love this so much we also got pizza of course! We got the Da Bambini and it was goood! Just slightly greasy but that is normal with pizza with pepperoni on it. The taste was goood! We also got the Neapolitan Panini. They also have Gelato yum! this place is good and yummy! Tried this location since we were staying outside of the 89A area of Sedona. We did take-out and got Da Herbie and as my issue with the other location was the amount of ingredients on the pizza is skimpy for what you're paying. But the taste was a good as the last time.
