Made dinner reservations here for my son's 21st bday. We arrived a little early and was seated right away. Because it was his 21st bday, we all ordered drinks to toast and started off with some delicious appetizers. I got a lemon drop martini, my 21 yo got the smoked old fashion, and the other got a drink that I can't remember what it's called. Lol We got escargot and flaming saganaki. Both appetizers were very delicious. The flaming saganaki was awesome with the bread, so yummy! For dinner entrees, my 21 yo ordered the wagyu strip with side of sautéed asparagus, my older son ordered the filet oscar, and I ordered the signature of the sea tournedos. All three dishes were so savory, flavorful, distinct, and very well cooked to our likings. We didn't get dessert because we were so full, but they did bring my son a hazelnut chocolate mousse bday treat that we each shared. So yummy, light, and creamy. Gosh our experience here was outstanding. We all finished everything from start to finish. Lol. My boys said that this was the best dinner they ever had then going to Fogo De Chao. Lol I totally recommend this place. Our waitress was a 10. Definitely will be a customer here. read more

If your not going to explain what your picture of your food is, stop start waisting our time, DON'T bother to even post. I have eaten here twice, and neither dining experience was worth a picture. I don't think $50 for a ribeye or $70 for a lobster tail is reasonable, by any means. Just go to eat at Outback or Longhorn and save yourself a $100 bucks! read more

We went for the happy hour and stayed for dinner. The bartender was the best, very friendly and recommended some drinks. After happy hour went in dinning room for dinner the waiter was outstanding explained the way the steak was prepared. I had the fillet and all you can eat crab legs. It was delicious. We had a six people at a birthday dinner so spent alot of money. When we brought our birthday cake out to eat we were told it would be $2.50 a person to eat our birthday cake . Which we were there to celebrate a birthday I've never had this happen to me anywhere. It's nice that we have an upscale restaurant in the area for special dinners. I wish the prices were a bit more affordable because we would come here. Unfortunately, it's just too expensive to justify running over for a meal when I don't feel like cooking. We live close and have come in for happy hour and it's been good. Was excited to come here because the menu looked as awesome as it was expensive ($350 for 2 appetizers, 2 mains, a single glass of wine, and dessert). The ambiance was lovely, as was the waitstaff. Alas, I found the food to be highly mediocre, with no standouts. The filet was ordinary and on the dry side, my main course was so salty as to border on inedible, and the veggies were over sweetened and over buttered. Honestly, even if the price was half of what it was I'd be unimpressed. Possible that they had an off night, but I don't think I'd opt to return even if someone else was treating. I refrain from giving five stars only because the lunch my wife and I went here for, was very poor....well let's say mediocre--and high-priced enough that one would have expected more. The dinners we have had there were always excellent, and the bar is nicely tended, though something like a Woodford Manhattan will run you a good ten dollars or more. (Who can gets used to drinks at $10 and $15? But such is the way of the world, it seems.) We have not been there since the Pandemic, but if there are some uncertain reviews in these columns, they may well be due to new help and the various problems attendant to Fauci's Malady. This place has long been a neighborhood favorite. Neighbors of ours have gone there every Valentine's Day for I'm guessing thirty years. We two, my wife and I, consider it a local treasure. Recommend, especially for dinner! And we'll look forward to lunches catching up. This dichotomy between great dinners and only fair lunches was observable at the Cork in Boulder, too, so maybe we can draw some conclusions about priorities and how a chef's day in the kitchen is constructed. read more

What a shame this restaurant was for a special event I hosted this evening. 2 steaks came out raw and one way over done. When spending $90 on a steak I would think it would come out perfect and with some kind of flavor. This was so incredibly bad. The sides were very expensive and unfortunately didn't taste like anything, very bland. The drinks were way over priced. I can't believe this place is still in business. Had dinner here today. The experience was a 5 star plus. From the second I walked in, the receptionist to the waiter were top notch. The food was also top notch. I had a Filet Mignon, cooked medium. It was grilled perfectly and was so tender that I was able to cut it with my fork and a butter knife. It's not very often to have a 5 star plus experience so this experience today was totally enjoyed. read more

The prime rib is fantastic. I've also tried the ribeye and the scotch salmon which were good but not amazing. The drinks are overpriced. Overall good. I'll be back on a Tuesday for more prime rib. I went alone and sat at the bar. This would be a nice place to bring a group. read more

My wife and I went here for Valentines Day. We were rushed through our meal, including having our "wagyu" and cold sides show up while we were still eating our lukewarm bisque that had shell in it. We had our baby, who didn't make a peep the entire night, and idk if it was because of this or because they were overbooked that we were rushed but either way, not my problem, or something we noticed other tables dealing with. We decided we weren't doing dessert here because of this. The server, who was awesome by the way, I think his name was Steve F, maybe the only enjoyable part of the dinner, told us the chef recommends the #9 WAGYU strip be cooked to medium... No, I'm not kidding. We soon figured out why, because the piece of meat we were given was probably the last steak off the strip, was tough and tendon filled and I could barely get a fork in one end of it let alone it be "fork tender" plus it was charred up. I sent it back, and Matt the GM and Steve were great about it. Like honestly these dudes were awesome and I felt bad the kitchen was letting them down so bad. We got another cut which was a little better (still charred) but I'd bet a paycheck it wasn't wagyu, and if it is it's not graded #9. As well as serving choice beef as wagyu, the chef probably saves a lot of money not ordering salt and pepper, because nothing had seasoning on it, not even the second steak. My 2 ounces of foie gras for $30 was raw in the middle, not scored or seared properly so it was just a ramekin of raw waterfowl oil. Crab legs were crab legs and the bisque was good even though we both found shell in our servings. I'm a Michelin trained chef and I understand expectations should be tempered to atmosphere, it was a busy night and shit happens but there are a few things that I feel are unjustifiable and rushing diners through their meal and misrepresenting product are two of those things. It was a crowded dining room with people just trying to enjoy their meals, and I had already sent one steak back so I was not trying to cause a complete scene and bother other people's nights as well, so we paid and left. I emailed the restaurant, 6 am the next morning, outlining my concerns and detailing the experience and preferred resolution. I was emailed back and offered a gift card for $100 but couldn't get a refund because I didn't throw a fit and ruin everyone's night at the restaurant that night. I didn't accept the gift card because the menu prices would require us to spend more money just to have dinner for two and honestly I would give the food negative stars if I could, so that's not going to happen. Plus my wife and I have a young child so when we do go out, we want to enjoy ourselves and our experience here was a far cry from that.(Besides Steve) It has a great view out of the back dining room and the FOH staff was extremely nice but for $325 plus $75 tip (yes I tipped even though it was shit, that wasn't Steve's fault) even with tempered expectations, the kitchen fell well short. I was thinking it would be a step above Texas Roadhouse like restaurants but we definitely left there thinking it was below chain steakhouse quality, at least in our experience. Really weird to see a kitchen lack so far behind the FOH especially on a special occasion night. Wouldn't recommend it to friends or family. read more

I went back to Hideaway after a tough last experience and am delighted to share that the service and food were spectacular tonight! Our server recommended an incredible steak. I had the 10 oz wagyu grade 9 and it was delicious! My party and I shared broccolini, Brussel sprouts and potatoes and they were all worthy sides to compliment the steak. Great service and ambiance for date night or romantic lunch. The filet mignon is the best steak here; don't waste money on the wagyu. The desserts are fantastic. Got there at 3:50, doors were locked despite online saying they open at 3:30 called the manager opened the door and apologized. Sat in the bar, when we first got there the bartender and a few other employees were talking about what sounded like another employee, basically yelling and cussing. Finally comes over to take our drink order takes over 5 minutes to get a beer and wine (mind you we were the only people in there) then we realize their menu is limited between the time of 3:30-4:30 so we ordered the truffle fries hoping they would hold us off until the next menu was available to order. They were over salty, dry and needed to be dipped in ranch. We also got the complementary bread, it was so dry and the butter was so cold we could even kind of spread it on the bread. Nice ambience, and great staff. I firstly ordered an old fashion, which was great. For an appetizer, I ordered a cup of their French Onion Soup, but it was so salty, it made my tongue numb! For my entree, I got the dry aged ribeye and "jumbo" scallops. The steak was cooked perfectly, but there wasn't much seasoning beyond that. The maple glazed carrots that we ordered weren't cooked at all. The creamed spinach was good, but again, too much salt. I ordered a blood orange cheesecake that was honestly the highlight of the meal. Overall, I paid about $180 for mediocre and overpriced food. If a restaurant charges this much, there should shouldn't be overly salted soups and raw vegetables being served. read more

We just stopped by the bar at happy hour and had the barrel aged Manhattan, or shall I say a shot! The price has gone up to $20 a cocktail and we had no more than 1.5 ounces in our glass. (A standard Manhattan cocktail is 3 full ounces) So disappointing! read more

Been going regularly to Hideaway Steakhouse for several years. Last weekend we had escargot, minestrone soup, king crap legs and added sides. The food, as always, was terrific. Although we are not red meat eaters, we still find many things to enjoy here. Steve the owner always comes by to say hello. The general manager, Matthew, also appreciates the business by stopping by. Being one of the only independently owned high-end dining establishments in the Westminster-Bloomfield area, we really appreciate the uniqueness. We also have enjoyed Jazz and Steve as top caliber professional waitstaff who make the experience elegant. read more

Came here Thursday 10/27 for lunch with two friends. We arrived right at lunch opening at 11:30. Our server let us in and let us pick our table. I can't remember his name, young and black hair. He was phenomenal. Some of the best service I've seen. We got two of the steak frites and fish and chips. French onion soup to start and wine and drinks. We will be back. Everything was excellent. We had an absolutely fantastic retirement party at Hideaway tonight. It was my first time there and the steaks were excellent, but the service was what really stole the show. Big props to Chris and Jacob. They were extremely attentive without being intrusive. Overall a great night and we wouldn't hesitate to host an event here again. The service is consistent every time. We have been going here when we are in the area for years. Every time is a treat, whether it's a holiday or family dinner. It is pricey, but worth it. I really feel bad rating this place so low because it seems like a lot of people really like it. I didn't even see the huge price tag when I looked at it on maps and directions. I chose this place because 1 it was close by 5 mins. 2. Somewhere we haven't been before and 3. Had steaks. I feel like I wasted a ton of money here. Even my wife was mad that I spent what I did. Her filet mignon was 67$ and my New York steak was 65$. It had a lot of fat on it and although I'm pretty sure I said medium well it came out on the receipt as medium but was more towards the medium rare side. I asked for A1 sauce because my steak was bland. I must've gone through 3 waters to get it down because it was hard to eat with no flavor. My wife only took a few bites of her filet mignon. She goes to work rep dinners all the time and filet mignon is an item that is offered in these dinners. She said this one was not even in the top running list. Ambience was nice. Food was out fast but our server took about 15+ minutes after we looked at menus before he even came back. I do feel like he was a bit too friendly with my wife but maybe that's just me. I know they work off tips. 20% before taxes ( since you do not tip on the tax) equaled out to be 39$ and I tipped 40. If you can do simple math then you know how expensive this place was. Drinks were good but steak and filet mignon not worth the price point. Don't even know what sauce was on the asparagus but after one bite I didn't go back for seconds. read more

My fiancé and I had an incredible experience with this restaurant. Our waiter Jacob was as real and hospitable as it gets. The floor manager Matthew was engaging welcoming we weren't just another tab. The owner would come around as if we were a guest in his own home. That was just the way we were taken care of with the floor staff. The food by far the most delicious meal I've ever had. The cooks are amazing at what they do and have perfected the craft.
