Not to mention it was delivered to our table rotten, sent back, and then brought back out after we had finished our meal for full price. I mean, you can get South African spiney lobster for $62 a pound and we just paid quadruple typical "MP" for some basic/bland lobster!? That's ridiculous! We also ordered The Neiman Ranch Chateau NY strip, and it tasted like A tough sirloin for $100. How absolutely disappointing this place was. Take your hard earned money and go to wayyyyy better establishments such as water grill, uchi, or guard and grace where your $500 tab for 2 people will atleast be quality food. Decided to come here for dinner when my mother was in town. We decided to get lobster and share a large steak. Food was decent, service was good, UNTIL I noticed they charged us TEN DOLLARS for a side plate so we could share the steak. Not okay, I have been to much nicer restaurants and have never been charged this 'fee'. The worst part is that this extra charge was NOT mentioned- it was just snuck onto the bill. I will not be coming back, I'd rather drive my company down to Urban Farmer, Ocean Prime or Elway's unless management reaches out to make things right. Man the bar just bamboozled us out of $20 at the end because of a mistake the bartender made SMH. So unfortunate because we weren't even really caring she forgot to put our happy hour item in before happy hour ended. Instead she "felt" out the situation to see if we would remember that she forgot the order. once we let her know that we didn't forget, she then tried to infer that we had been drinking too much? She did this rather loudly to let the entire bar know. Recently we ran up a $300 tab here so two drinks for us to be drunk is comical. What a hard turn this place took because a bar tender was embarrassed to say she forgot to put an app in. Anyway we're sober down the street getting drinks in a couple more munchies at a place and probably won't return to hideaway. Which is sad because our two dining room experiences were amazing. don't forget the server's name he has five children and is the bomb at fine dining service. First time. Went in saturday night for a last minute birthday dinner (change of plans) we were accommodated with a reservation and a great booth. Thanks to the General Manager. Our server Chris was great! Very knowledgeable about the menu and personable, cracking jokes with us throughout our visit. He was great about suggesting drinks and appetizers. Defiantly try the Flaming Saganaki its a fun display and delicious. They were not busy when we arrived but within the hour they filled up with reservations. We could see our server got very busy but our food was timed out perfectly between courses and was amazing. The owner was also around helping run food for the staff and saying hello to the guests. Yah, I've been reviewing this place for years and it's been our go to restaurant for birthdays: four of them, at least one or two a year. Steaks, 5 stars, service, friendly and attentive. Prices, get out of town. For two people, you may want to drop a bundle; for a party, it will set you back. Sixteen dollar martini? Really I don't want to go back, ever. Didn't feel brunchy at all. Menu was not available when reservations made How can you have a fruit and cheese plate when the the fruit consisted of one strawberry? One strawberry. French toast consisted of one piece of bread. One So for 69.99. You get a fruit and cheese plate (remember with one strawberry) one piece of French toast and a dessert. For 79.99. You could have steak eggs and potatoes instead of the French toast. Alcohol was about $14 a drink. So for $100 per person- you get well not much unless you choose a small steak with eggs Over priced - I wouldn't go back for the value. read more

We walked in and seated ourselves in lounge area , we waited for a while to be seen even though we were 1 of 2 tables in room. We ordered Oysters and a wedge salad ..and glass of wine ..30 minutes later and several apologies we got oysters and no salad he didn't hear the salad unfortunately. ..then had one back in 3 min. Hmmmm!! Multiple Managers, and waiter said sorry but never offered anything ...we ordered bison ribeye and multiple sauces and potato's, we cancelled it all. We have been here several times and this was worst time ever. When you go to a place that 3 of 4 visits were sub par and the managers have to cover the staff with apologies or something else tells me it's not place to be...good luck guys! We were greeted quickly, reminds me of an old school supper club, beautiful setting we loved it! There were roughly 8 of us and we were all excited to see some old school items like escargot on the menu! They brought out a rosemary bread for munchies with butter that was out of this world! Within ordered appetizer of escargot and we were all disappointed with the lack of flavor and honestly we thought they had been overcooked. Most of us ordered steaks, some did order pastas as well. The folks that ordered the pastas loved them! Those of us that ordered the steaks however were disappointed as they lacked flavor. Wow...we went to the Hideaway Steakhouse last night and had a wonderful experience in the Lounge. We had menu items off the Lounge menu - the best Caprese Baratta I have ever had and my husband had the Wagu burger and fries which were excellent. The lounge is beautiful and comfortable and the best experience was finding Vernon Johnson as the bartender there. He was recently voted "Best Bartender in Arvada" while at the Butchery and has now moved to The Hideaway! All in all, a wonderful experience and our new "hangout"! read more

We came here to celebrate our first wedding anniversary and top to bottom, the staff at Hideaway helped make it a night to remember. They brought us a tasty amuse-bouche to start the meal. We ordered the cheapest bottle of wine and it was still good. We had mussels in wine to start, ciabatta and butter with red Hawaiian sea salt. The star of the evening was, of course, the steak. My wife and I both ordered the 6 oz filet mignon. It was cooked perfectly and seemed to melt in our mouths. The peppercorn sauce was just OK, but the mushroom sauce was amazing. I ordered the maple pumpkin gnocchi for my side and it was sooooo good, pan cooked and just the right combination of salty and sweet. They comped us a raspberry creme brûlée for our anniversary and we finished with coffee. The total bill came to around $200 with tip, but it was worth every penny. First visit as friends recommended it. "Steakhouse" is in the name so I assumed they specialize in steaks. Ordered two $75 steaks medium. They both came out raw. Sent back and waited a while as the others ate their dinner. Steaks came back way over done. Not a good experience at all and I've had much better steaks elsewhere, in nicer settings for far less, including my own house. I mean it's steak people, not rocket science. You cook it to a correct temperature and serve it. Not that difficult. If you're going to market yourself as a steak place and charge those prices, you better be dialed in. read more

We went for Mothers day dinner. I was very impressed when we walked in the door just before our 4pm reservation and were immediately shown to a table. That happens so seldom. After that i was not so impressed. Our waiter came to the table and got our drink orders which was great. It took a little while to place our order but not to long. It was only 4pm, aka before the dinner rush, and they were out of french onion soup so they only had one choice of soup. I ordered a steak, my wife ordered crab legs, and my daughter ordered the lamb chops. None of these things take that long to prepare. We waited over an hour for our food. The food was delicious. Just based on the food I would rate this as a 5star. The steak was awesome, my wife said the crab legs were great, and my daughter said the lamb was great. The 2x baked potato was crusty on top and just ok. My drink was allowed to go completely empty twice leaving me eating with no drink. The waiter did finally refill it both times but it ran out before desert and did not get refilled. We were done with dinner and had our plates bused before our waiter graced us with his presence again to bring desert menus. Even then he only walked by and basically dropped them on the table. He came back to get our desert order later. The waiter was courteous and nice but did not visit the table nearly enough. The weather outside was about 40degs but they had the AC on and i spent the entire dinner shivering. Maybe i an expecting to much but for a place that charged over $100 per plate i would expect to have a comfortable (ie warm) seat, and a waiter that actually visited the table once in a while. Having run restaurants in the past I tip according to service. I only tipped 10% but felt like i over tipped. that worked out at about $5 every time he stopped by our table. This place is close to my house, has good food but I will not be going back. read more

Update -- So, Hideaway Steakhouse....I am trying to love you, but as someone who has a possibly critical eye for detail, service and appreciates any flashes of love in the food...well, I am struggling. Your service staff is truly running their own show and it is distracting, annoying and just in your face, "we will get to you when we are done talking about our plans for the rest of the weekend or what we did last night or where in the hell is my bus boy." I was really looking forward to bringing my husband along after I was there a little over a month ago, and we went. At 4:34 - 4 minutes after opening on a not so busy, rainy night. We sat in the lounge and watched four, five and six service staff shoot the breeze at the well. Waited at least 5 minutes and after giving the evil eye a bit, someone came over. Bar tender I think. "What can I get ya?" "Hi, a wine list would be great please." "by the glass or bottle?" "Both if that is ok?" Flipped open the book that was already on the table saying here is the wine by the glass for you. Nope that was dessert, I had already checked. Just the little things, I know. But good god. So the two wine lists come - great. I am tired of writing honestly, the basic review for today was two different servers, a swarm of servers loud talking in a large group, and very little care given. You are sooo damn close to our house, we like to eat out, we love to tip well, but I have to say, there are better fast casual service standards out there. Step it up folks. Sad. read more

Who wants to eat seafood in a land locked state? I certainly don't - with that said, Mediocre BEEF. It's what's for dinner. Here's why it's only getting 3 Yelps folks: BEEF Foodstuffs: - & + 18-oz Cowboy Bone-In Ribeye. $42. It was recommended by the server and I had ordered it black-n-blue. It came out MAYBE mid-rare as you can see in my photo. It was still "good" but they're getting docked major points for messing up the temp on this steak - in fact, I even told them the temp I wanted it, about ~110. They had the char right, just didn't cook it properly. :( NON-BEEF Foodstuffs: - Sautéed Mushrooms. These were heavily over done and mushy :( + Truffle & Garlic Fries. Probably the best side of the evening, the garlic was strong and SO THERE, they didn't overdo the truffle and the fries were hearty, very crisp and very potato-ey in the middle. Just the way they should be. + Mixed Root Vegetables. The root veggies were really good - they did a good job on these. Still a bit of a bite to them but tender - thumbs up. Service: + We sat outside and had 2 servers for our table of 9. They were attentive, friendly, nice and just "right" The Joint: + Hideaway isn't hidden nor is it away - it's actually quite easy to find and the restaurant is quite nice on the inside. Especially the large oversized yellow booths - so I really enjoyed the restaurant. Beautiful outdoor seating area which got a bit cold so we ended up coming back inside Final Thoughts: If I were in the area and there was nowhere else to go, I'd stop by again but frankly, I'd rather go to the Capital Grille or one of my chain steakhouses that I love so much. We went to hideaway for a late Valentine's dinner 2/16/14. Our server was amazing! We never felt rushed and Stephen did a great job of giving us great suggestions on food, wine and pairings. You could tell talking with him he had a passion for his job and he really made our experience great. The food was also fantastic! I got the short rib and it was flavorful and tasty and my husband got a special. It was the Wagyu beef NY Strip. The strip was delicious, one of the most flavorful dishes we have ever eaten. My dining companions gave this a thumbs up and a comparison to Mortens. I got the "Yays!" throughout the meal for finding this place. Too bad for Texas roadhouse and their one and a half hour wait. We had Nicholas as our server and he was charming, efficient, knowledgeable and all those things you hope for. Our filets were cooked to order and the sauces we selected as well as the one he surprised us with were beyond good. Wine selection was good. Bread (Vienna?) was warm and fresh and just what was needed while waiting for our entree. We will be recommending this location to friends that ask for a delicious steak dinner. I give Hideaway Steakhouse five stars because it truly is the ultimate steakhouse. The ambiance is elegant but cozy. They have round booths throughout that take you back to the beautiful steakhouses of the past. We sat by one of their several fireplaces, which gave us a cozy, comfortable feel to the entire experience. Their food was outstanding! I had their scallops, and might I say, I am particular with my scallops. They gave me five delicious scallops with basmati rice and veggies. Some of the best I have had in a long time! My husband had their New York strip and it was cooked to perfection. I kept stealing bites, it was so yummy! Everything that our group had was very good. They offer great specials everyday! Their bar is great fun! They have a live band on the weekends and we truly enjoyed listening a giving our requests. They will be opening up their patio soon and we are looking forward to visiting again and enjoying the entire experience outside. This was a great find. We always thoroughly enjoy our experience here. We started with the escargot, which is to die for! I had the fillet with broccoli. My steak was tender and cooked perfectly. My husband had the culotte steak and loaded baked potato. The steak was beautifully marbled, cooked to a perfect medium. Just writing this review makes my mouth water. Service was amazing, as always!
