We were visiting Mansfield and happened across Hideout Burgers. For the type of food it is, we thought it tasted fresh with quality ingredients. We tried the cheeseburger, Philly cheesesteak, and kids grilled cheese. The fries were delicious- thin cut with just the right amount of potato skin, light seasoning and crispness. Two of us shared a whole order of fries and really 1/2 order would have been plenty. We also tried the milkshakes which were thick and creamy. Also, the service was lovely- friendly, helpful and attentive. The environment is family friendly, clean, well-kept. We'd definitely return if in the neighborhood again. Totally decent little hole in the wall, reminds me a lot like Chapps with burger and sandwich and appetizer selections on a chalkboard. I LOVE the green chili cheeseburger...lots of spicy yet midld green chiles and melty cheese with a juicy patty on Texas toast. Normally I would give five stars but today when I went to hide out to order fried pickles the pickles were extremely salty. I've had them before on multiple occasions and they were great I don't know what happened but I know they could do better. I visit them almost every other weekend when I have clinicals. Make sure to bring your own water because I was charged $1.99 per water cup. I'm not cheap, but I think it is a little excessive to charge $1.99 per cup of water. I'm sure there is some costs associated with tap water, but still. We ate here a couple of weeks ago and wasn't charged. Long-time customer of Hideout Burgers here. I ordered a cheeseburger to go, drove 20 minutes home to discover there was no cheese and drove 20 minutes back to the restaurant. The girl at the register asked me if I wanted her to add cheese to the burger? I said "No, I want a fresh burger with cheese." The lady that took the order did not apologize once. I stood there for a while as they tried to find my order receipt, the girl even asked me if I remembered my order number. They didn't offer so much as a soft drink while I waited after making a 40 minute round-trip. Very, very unimpressed. The handmade, 1/2 lb. patty is the feature attraction, and I selected the Bacon, Onion, Jalapeno Cheeseburger, which was very good, and a good value. I selected fried mushrooms as my side, and I liked that they were sliced, rather than whole, which can often burn you when biting into them. I liked that they were sliced, but they tasted like they were canned rather than fresh, but still good flavor. Also at my table were the Black Bean Burger, which was very good! Onion Rings, slightly about average, held the breading nicely, and a Chili Cheeseburger, and Fried Pickles. The Chili was probably canned too, but the quality of the burger was still the feature. They have typical burgers, which I love, and a few specials like BBQ or chicken sandwiches. Sometimes you just want a double cheeseburger with fries. I love Hideout's turkey burger. It's juicy and full of flavor. I haven't tried the regular burgers but my husband says they are delicious and one of the better burgers out there. They also have yummy skinny shoestring fries. On our last visit, I tried the fried pickles with ranch and they were hot, fresh, and delicious. After reading the Yelp reviews from the Midlothian Hideout and a couple reviews from Urban Spoon for the Mansfield Hideout, we were really looking forward to trying this place. When we went up front to order, everyone was in the kitchen. Eventually, the cashier emerged but then the phone rang so she answered it. Then, she looked at us, seemingly bored/annoyed, and said "Do you know what you want yet?". However, she was helpful with menu questions and recommendations. We ordered one Strawberry Milkshake, one Mushroom & Swiss burger w/chicken fried french fries, one Green Chile Burger w/onion rings and we got water to drink. The total was a whopping $20, which seems steep for burgers and fries. The milkshake made from Blue Bell ice cream was delicious, so we had high hopes for the meal. Then the burgers came out. The 1/2 pound burgers were giant, but that expense is factored into the ~$6 per burger w/ no sides price. My burger, the green chile burger was pretty juicy and the green chiles, cheese, and chipotle mayo added to the flavor. However, my husband didn't seem to be enjoying his burger at all, so I took a bite of his and discovered an overcooked, dry, bland burger. Bummer....a ~$6 burger ruined. The onion rings looked somewhat promising with pepper flakes in the batter, but the pepper taste wasn't present and the batter was dry and the onions were overcooked. The chicken fried french fries were bland. I decided to get a to-go box for my burger and had to wait at the counter again for a few minutes. We left the $2 chicken fried french fries behind. Hideout Burger is sitting in what looks like the newer developments in Mansfield. The new hospital and construction are bringing in strip malls and shopping centers. In the corner of one is the burger joint. Easy going appearance from walking in. Light decoration with wood booth seating along one side and the middle. Some table-and-chair seating on the glass. Relatively clean. Nice looking restaurant. The menu is a chalk board, which seems to be the thing now. (I get it. Prices, ingredients, etc. change and it's better than the sloppy stickers over the original listing.) The menu is a full-on list of burgers, sides, and desserts. You're sure to find something you can eat. For me, it was a usual mess of cheese, bacon, and peppers on my burger. Sweet potato fries to go with it. The girls at the counter were an understandingly disinterested crew. One was pretty friendly and the other was whiny and "too tired" to do her job. I wondered how the 5-6 hours of sleep she talked about wasn't enough to get her through a shift on the cash register, but if we're being honest, she's probably a high school girl on her first job. I can understand her lack of enthusiasm. Either way, she got the job done and the friendlier one got our food to us. It wasn't a long wait, either! Food is fine. I liked my food. The portions on the sides are smaller than I'd like, but everything tasted good. I'll echo the sentiment before me that it's a little overpriced. When you look at the board and see a $5-7 price on a burger, it seems fine. Add on fries and a drink and suddenly you're well over ten bucks. Spending twenty bucks on lunch was unfortunate, but I can't and won't complain about the burger or fries from a taste standpoint. I wish we'd gotten a shake or onion rings. This place is awesome! You walk in and it's pretty straight forward, walk up to the counter, order, have a seat and the staff will bring you your food. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The food is YUM YUM!! The burgers and hot and fresh as are the onion rings, french fries and fried mushrooms. The prices aren't too bad either. I think I've spent pretty close to what I pay at the "W" place (if you know where I mean) I am so glad they opened one in Burleson, I can not wait to take my husband there! read more

In the moo'd for beef. Decided on this little spot. Nice decor, very clean dining area. The menu has plenty of options but I needed a classic bacon burger. This burger brought it. Didn't taste like fast food, but charred beefy goodness. They even kick the fries up a notch. Had the chicken fried fries. They come with a side of delicious country gravy, but please, try those fries as they are first. You deserve it. Topped it off with iced tea with lemon. The tea tastes brewed, not powdered mix. I enjoyed my food here. It's definitely a tier above the fast food chains and in my opinion competitive with 5-guys & Mooyah. I feel that these burgers are less messy than Mooyah and just as cost efficient. The venue is not the most quiet but I feel it was appropriate for the lunch rush. The servers were polite and friendly. They didn't talk your head off but showed they were happy you came to dine with them. The only area of improvement I'd recommend is that their French fries were cold by the time I got to eat them (I did take-out). That drive wasn't that long and they shouldn't have been that cold. People seem to rave about the onion rings anyway. I will also say that if u don't like grease than u may not like this place, but then would you like any burger joint?
