    Lemon pepper cauliflower

Overall really tasty food. The ambience was a bit experimental and fresh, but the service was a bit odd with some weird interactions. The cauliflower lemon pepper was actually really good. It had a solid level of crispiness and seasoned really well. The sauce wasn't the best but added some wetness to it. The chicken breast was really crispy outside as well with a really moist interior. Which was impressive to me since it was a pretty thick chicken breast so I typically expect it to be dry with that kind of crust. It came with squash and a tasty pumpkin sauce too. Overall a really tasty meal but an intriguing interior

Thanks to the owner for confirming that the Jackalope's name is Calypso! The service was great, food really good. Fun time for our second family dinner there

From the moment we stepped into High Country, we felt very welcomed by the waitstaff Kailey and Mandy showed us awesome hospitality, kindness and great conversations. The food was equally as fabulous - I had the summit bowl with seared shrimp and my partner, the classic cheddar burger

One of those places I must have passed by so many times and never went in, and I'm glad I finally did! The food was really good. as anyone that reads my reviews should know, I like traditional foods with a little twist and this place has got the twists. For example, their grilled cheese sandwich is actually a grilled Brie sandwich, and eve that has an extra twist. The fried butternut squash sandwich is also a great option. The service was excellent and the prices were reasonable for today's crazy reality. It is a very casual space but still looks sleek and elegant, and very clean.

High Country comes from the same owners of Gemini (which is right next door). Service from Coco was so friendly and great. We enjoyed the super cheesy queso Fundido and the wings. The wings are brined, making them super flavorful and fall off the bone. We got 2 sauces to try. Fresno chili buffalo (spicier) and honey habanero (sweeter). Both were great. We also got the mile high burger with fries and the chicken sandwich with onion rings. I like that they don't upcharge for salad or onion rings. The fries were really good too. (I am very particular on my fries) For cocktails I had to try the Down River. It was so good. Served properly up in a Nick and Nora glass. My hubby got the XXX. It was delish! Very refreshing. We finished with the lemon bar which was light and great. Can't recommend High Country enough. They have a great patio and I am excited to see them grow in the space.

    Short rib

THE best restaurant to go if you have dietary restrictions. I had the short rib which was dairy free and gluten free and it was insanely delicious. They have so many gluten free and dairy free options. Their fryers are completely gluten free- Absolutely no worrying about cross contamination, first time I've had fries at a restaurant without worrying about having a reaction :). Perfect place for vegans, celiacs, and all sort of allergies. The servers are super nice and understanding of all dietary restrictions! Can't recommend a better place.

My family and I are visiting from California and we were looking for a place to eat. We came across High Country. It was definitely worth it! The food was amazing especially their wings and chicken sandwich. Their service was great especially Ella who went above and beyond when my 4yr old niece wanted to pay with her comfort inn card lol Definitely coming back!

I've been coming here since they opened and haven't had a bad thing on the menu yet, but they're currently running a special on pep rally days. The Stampede Burger: Smash burger, smoked brisket, fried pickles, jalapeños, and bbq sauce. It was absofriggioutely one of the best burgers I've had in my life. Adding that on top of the fantastic, friendly service and the modern but eclectic vibe and you'd be hard pressed to find a better dinner spot in Boulder.

Two fabulous local beers on a hot day! Happy Hour began at 2pm on Labor Day Sunday!

The inside is a little bit divey in feel but more upscale than your typical dive bar. They had tons of seating, and I saw next to a fireplace because it looked cozy (it was). The server was quick to take my order even though it was pretty busy in there (was rush weekend I think for the university?). I had the tin man HH cocktail because my server said it would be the most floral (has elderflower in it) and I quite liked it! Was very refreshing, not too strong. Aside notes: the bathrooms were quite clean. Parking was a little chaotic, some is paid parking and some is free 2 hour. There are only a couple spots right in front, I had to park a few blocks down but it was in 2hr free park by another small business that was closed for the day. I didn't have any issues there. Overall thought this was a fun little bar in Boulder with good happy hour drinks, I would def come back :)

The whole space feels warm and relaxed in a way that makes you want to stay longer than planned. I'd especially recommend it for small groups or date nights because it manages to feel social without getting overwhelmingly loud. I think the best thing about River and Woods is the interior and exterior decoration. It is very clear that a lot of thought and time was put into the atmosphere here. From the cute door knocker to the bathroom wallpaper, the theme is well-executed. The food was a bit disappointing. The blue oyster mushroom appetizer was extremely salty. I thought it was just me but the rest of the table agreed as well. My trout was well-cooked and I enjoyed it quite a bit. The chicken was also salty although cooked well. I did not try the burger but I was told it was salty as well. The prices of all the items were quite high for what I thought was presented. Service was good and thankfully our waters were filled frequently for how much water we were drinking due to the high salt content.

The restaurant itself is beautiful and the beautiful bar is the centerpiece of this gorgeous restaurant. The atmosphere is a lovely combination of elegance and dining comfort. The waitstaff is beautifully trained, and everyone who works here seems to be very proud of the food and ambiance. We started with a tuna crudo which was one of the stars of the meal. The tuna was delicious and the broth was heavenly. We ordered pork taco and a beef taco, both so tasty. For our entree, we had the snapper in tomato broth. I'm still thinking about it! As soon as you know you're going to Boulder, book a reservation. Even is all you can get is an 8:45, take it! This was without a doubt the best dining experience we enjoyed in Boulder. I'm quite the foodie and cook for multiple friend groups so I was skeptical. When we walked in on a Tuesday evening near closing time, I noticed the Bib Gourmand plaque on the wall, mention of Michelin star sister restaurant, Alma and at least 6 parties still seated. Let's talk about the food now. Our party of 3 ordered alot which included: -camote (that ricotta and fennel pairing-oh my!), -caesar salad (huge portion and the BEST I've ever had; even better than any tableside caesar) -yellowtail carpaccio (many renditions of this in LA, but this made me want to eat the whole plate and slurp the sauce!) -tostada (incredible. I wanted more) -carne asada taco (divine cut of meat, hands down the best I've had), --- -pork taco (my husband ordered it and said it was the best he's had) -red snapper (I've had this all over Baja Mexico w very fond memories, but THIS one was a tip the bowl kind of dish) cooked to perfection w abeautiful flavors in the sauce. - mushroom entree. (ordered by our friend, and had a few bites. This dish was way larger than I expected! it looked like a garden box of shrooms. Flavors were delightful. We finished every crumb on our plate. I was extremely surprised with every dish we had, as I found myself swooning into another dimension of pleasure and slight jealousy with every bite. I haven't been WOWED by Mexican flavors at all (in LA or OC ), but only since my trip to Tulúm. I can taste the intention of each flavor combination, freshness of the corn, I really can go on and on. I can still remember being impressed beyond belief, and saying out loud, "THIS is what I want Mexican food to taste like". Prices were so reasonable. Entree portions were hefty and fullfilling. Staff was friendly and knowledgable about the menu and brand story. Hoping and wishing that one day they'll open up a location? chef's kiss to this place. Will try Alma and others when back in CO.

Ambience - this isn't the best place for a business dinner. very quiet/romantic and i felt like our group was out of place there, but no one looked at us oddly. It felt more like we might have been interfering with their romantic vibe as we were talking business. The restaurant and staff present a very inviting atmosphere. Food, this is where i was disappointed. the Bread at the beginning was very good/ with salted butter. I ordered the salted radish appetizer and it honestly just felt like salted radishes on top of a puree that i didn't really care for. So would put this as a 5/10 in terms of rating. I got the rabbit, which was recommended as being the best entree option. i have never had rabbit previously and wanted to try it. I thought it was OK, but not very memorable. It did taste like dark meat chicken. however the chick peas they were served with were underdone (crunchy in texture) and simply not that good. Our dessert, blueberry Tres Leches, was the best of the 3. My dining companions had a variety of things (striped bass, meatballs), but no one was raving about their food. Service was quite nice. would give this more like a 3.5 out of 5, as the atmosphere and service were good. Sadly won't be returning.

However, the kitchen fails to deliver quality or good tasting meals, despite the well-sourced food. The menu is prix fixe. 2 appetizers and an entree, or 1 appetizer, entree and dessert. The salmon tartare was salty, too salty. The kefta balls were over salted as well. The onion tarte shell was so hard it could barely be chipped away to eat. When we mentioned this to our server, the response was we get more complaints about the tarte than any other appetizer. I was surprised to see that the appetizers were all served at the same time, so by the time, I ate the cold salmon, the warm kefta, besides being salty was also cool - might have been more appealing if warmer. The rabbit entree was dry, overcooked and tasteless. The accompanying garbanzo beans were undercooked, crunchy and too salty. The food highlight was the family style vegetables. Beets, onions, asparagus were alright; the sugar snap peas which still had strings were not as good. The dessert were disappointing as the rest of the meal. The macaron was brick hard, so hard, we had to ask for a fork and knife to chip hunks off of it. Tasteless. After we departed, my dinner companion said she wished we had sent the dessert back, it was so hard and inedible that we left most of it. Bramble & Hare has a few things going for it: Service was spot on, attentive, helpful and friendly. The wine list is very good. Ambience is pleasant and the dining room is quiet. I really wanted to like Bramble & Hare as the farm to table concept appeals, but with the poor food preparation, this is a tough restaurant to like.
