Don't go it's a chop shop they take your new parts and replace with old and sell the new

It's the night before Veteran's Day and we are late to pick up the car. The place is closed up and we need the car for tomorrow (my man is a vet). I thought for sure it wasn't going to end well, but I was wrong. One gentleman opened up and got us on our way. He didn't know my man served in Desert Storm and should be treated with respect and kindness and yet that's how my man was treated. The first time we went there, we had been quoted a repair price of $2,000 by the dealer. High Desert did the repairs for $300. We will be back. Unfortunately I can't put 0 stars very unprofessional took my vehicle in to get a computer flashed and programmed and they did not even do that then had them diagnose it since they said that they did program the new computer. Had it there for 2 days was finally told it was fuel injecters had it towed because my vehicle wouldn't start and when I got it home I put in my old computer and my vehicle started right up. On top of that my vehicle was store outside in a empty field next to the shop to where someone tried to break into it. To the owner Brian- Unless you support lies and deceptive practices from Your staff, then this review won't matter to you. Yesterday, March 23 I brought in my son's 2008 Honda Element to see why it had intermittent starting. I wanted to see what it was and then make the decision to either fix it and sell it or just sell it for parts. I dropped it off at 8am (girl didn't arrive until 8:10am) and proceeded to take the keys. She called me less than 2 hours later for me to call back as they had diagnosed the issue. Due to busy work schedule I was unable to call until 3pm and at that time another young lady told me the problem was it needed a new starter and battery, over $1000 to fix. I told her I wasn't sure if I would get to call her back in time of closing, as I needed to talk to my son to see if he wanted to pay for the fix and sell the care for more or just sell it for parts and asked her if I didn't get there could I leave the car overnight. She said no problem. As soon as I got home and told my son the price, he said no way and we left to get the car. HERE IS THE POINT.... When we arrived around 4:30 on the same day I went inside I told the lady that I was here to pick up the Element and her yes got wide and immediately got on her cell phone and called someone and said, "the guy with the Element is here, you have to bring the car back". I asked her why my car was not in the property and she said, "umm, he's test driving it." I then wondered "why did you need to test drive the car after you diagnosed the problem before 10 in the morning"? After waiting over 10 minutes with no sign of my car, I asked her again "where is my car?" She once again told me the obvious lie that "he is test driving it" I said when a test drive is done it would be around a block or two, not 10 minutes away, and why would he need to test drive it after you diagnosed the problem before 10am and I hadn't yet decided to have it fixed or not" The mechanic was obviously either taking it home as his personal vehicle, joy riding or God knows what! She refused to be honest and kept saying, "umm he is test driving it". After 15 minutes my car arrived and the mechanic just handed me my keys and said "here" and just walked away. Also, if that was the case, why would she be closing the garage bay before 5pm if they had no intention of bringing my vehicle back in??? Now, I am not stupid sir. Basically I paid $116 to be lied to and have my car removed from your property by one of your mechanics who was using it for his own personal reasons without my permission. The service writer was Jess. Your company is why people don't trust mechanics and to the readers of this... BUYER BEWARE! if you leave your car, the employees may be using your cars at night for... well, who knows!!! read more

Most car issues pop up unexpected, are inconvenient and stressful! Mine happened on a Sunday where everyone was closed. Looking for a shop with a drop box I came across High Desert Auto Care. Some of the staff were there and able to take my car in without a problem! Within 24 hours my starter was replaced, and I got my car back good to go! The whole experience was quick and easy! BEWARE* Took my car for a estimate for the abs light on. Had it all day didn't find anything then wanted me to bring my car back to keep it overnight and I'm like naw I cant do that and I didn't really trust them based off the answers I was getting the first day of them having my car. So they hit with me a 4,000 dollar estimate for the abs module and for my ac compressor switch which what they said was bad. Come to find out it has no freon and the compressor was in protect cause it was empty. They even charged me $100 plus to charge my system cause they said it had to be done to do the AC estimate. So they did it and they said it was the control switch. We'll come to find out the abs lights were on cause of a missing fuse once I replaced it lights went away. So the guy did a electrical estimate and never checked for missing or burned fuses. And then hit me with a expensive bill to replace the abs module. Then I go to auto zone to buy a refill can for the freon and to test if mine had any. Well after jumping the compressor to kick on in the relay box I was able to put freon and the gauge read zero. Which means these guys either never charged it or it had a leak and these guys missed it. Either way they were easy fixes all under $100 bucks total and they hit me with a $4000 dollar bill. Way overpriced especially for the lack of knowledge. I would never take my cars there again. All these good reviews must be from old people they take advantage of or people that have no idea about cars and they pay these extreme prices. Save yourself the money and hassle. They are not honest or don't know what there doing. Either way it's not good. I would never go back again for anything. A month later and all my freon is still in the system. Strange so there was no leak and they charged me to charge my system and didn't. Straight crooks. BEWARE read more

Why make an appointment early in the morning so you can get over a simple alignment on your car if they're people there ain't going to even touch the car!!!???? Since the moment I got there you can't tell the place was bad but I have an app at 8AM. I parked my car and greet the white mechanics and didn't acknowledge me until I kinda shouted 'excuse me.' And still acted with such an actitud like I was asking them for a favor. If I was asking you for a free a alignment then maybe but last time I checked I was paying for it. Told the car was going to be ready in couple of hours because not everyone was in yet. Well I come back a couple of hours later and the car was on the same place where I left it. Got my car and left. The ladies at the front worthless too. Promise they were going to have the mechanic take care of the alignment right away since I had an APPOINTMENT!!!! 1,200$ to fix A/C issue, within 1,500 miles the vehicle has been brought back to the shop 6 times for the A/C failing. Engine bay has only been cleaned once and their tech is saying they can't find a leak cause I cleaned the engine bay, but they couldn't find a leak the other 5 times? 1,200$ later the A/C still isn't working but A/C components have been replaced. This shop does not know how to diagnose the issue and is playing the domino affect until they find the real problem. They told me they had done a dye test, smoke test and smell test and they still can't find a leak (all test have been done on different trips back to the shop, not just once). This shop has multiple mechanics and in their lobby they only have two certificates for certified mechanics. I guess it's my fault I went to a little shop, I got what I paid for. read more

terrible place!! not only did i spend over 1000 dollars on my car, take off three days of work, and constantly have to call them instead of them calling me, but they say they still don't know what's wrong with it! then when they finally said it was done - it stalled on the side of the fucking road when i was driving it home and they had to send a tow truck to come and pick it up! i literally just left a message on their answering system - because no one is answering their phone!! "if you're too busy to fix my car or don't know what's wrong with it refund me my 1000 dollars and let me take it to someone who can!! don't go here unless you want your time and money wasted! three days and counting..... read more

Also the staff is friendly and always there to assist with picking up vehicles and dropping off vehicles to my center . I highly recommend them and never have any issues .
